Juno error unsure of where to post

Q: Juno error unsure of where to post

Was working on a PC where the user logged in using Juno. A few days ago she no longer could get her e-mails or get on the internet. It was giving a script bugging error message. I looked at her IE settings and they appear to be correct. I also attempted to call Juno and they wanted the customer to PAY $1.95 a minute for support of their product. She did have the original installation disk and upon removing and readding it to her O/S, she is now able to connect to the server and get her mail. Still, when attempting to get on the WWW, she gets page cannot be displayed (no more script error message, but not online either). I also checked her dial-up connections (she is using a AC97 Soft Data Fax Modem with SmartCP) and they were correct and the modem dials fine (obviously as she can send and receive e-mails again).

She has a HP (Compaq) Mobile AMD Sempron laptop with a 3300 Processor 159 GHz and 384 MB of RAM.

Is there anything that I am missing, any tips, or should I tell the person to punt Juno and use another ISP?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

My microphone, as of last night, as started producing a "buzzing" noise to its listeners. I can't hear it unless I go into recording devices and click "listen to this device". It's a constant buzz, as long as my mic is enabled (I do a lot of push-to-talk in video games). I've tried another headset with the same result. I updated my video card (GTX 960) with no change. Restarted the computer of course, as well. Just trying to see how to diagnose the exact issue before I go buying a new computer case or something. Thanks in advance.

Newbie here, not sure where to post question:
Juno is our ISP. Lately, Spybot has been catching ISTBar Slotch and I've taken to running a Bot-check after every log-on/off. Our home page is Juno's. After cleaning up all of Spybot "catches", then restarting the computer and automatically going to Juno's Home Page upon startup, I ran another Bot-Check...and there it is again...ISTBar Slotch.

So, question is: Is this Juno's "fault"? Are they allowing this nasty stuff - or do they even know about it - do I e-holler at them/advise them? Or is it even related to Juno itself?

A:Testing my first post - is it Juno's fault?

My advice use google.com as your homepage search engine.

If you dont have it till you go to juno it sounds like it juno's fault........

Im really unsure thouhg.

I think you should post a Hijackthis log to be safe. I know spyware can do this.

Do you know how to post a hijackthis log?

If not go to the Hijackthis logs and analysis forum and view the Tutorial and how to post a log.

I have a pc that I am getting an "out of memory" error when trying to print from some accounting software that is reading from a sql database. The pc has office 03 installed and updated. There is a patch for this through MS that I tried and it was unsuccessful. I have increased the page file size to max, the pc has plenty of RAM(3 gigs), running xp pro sp3. A couple days before this error started, the pc would not boot, it was stuck in a reboot cycle. I ran chkdsk which fixed a bad sector on the hdd. Thinking that the drive was probably starting to go bad, I cloned old one and put a new drive in the pc. I am still getting this error and can't find an answer anywhere.
Again, not sure if this is the right place for this question.
Thanks in advance for any help/advice/thoughts.

A:Unsure of where to post??

What version of Windows, please?

You might also take a look in Event Viewer for clues...and let Windows manage the pagefile.

If Office is the only program that provokes this...I would presume it to be possibly damaged and uninstall it/reinstall.

Using a Thermaltake P5 case, just today replaced the main panel (glass) with acrylic. What could go wrong, right?
-shutdown from Windows 10. Disconnected a sys-fan, mostly passive cooled, so wasn't really necessary.
-replaced the glass with acrylic.
-powers on GPU (led); Power Supply fan spins, then winds down. Display shows nothing.
-reset power bar, booted once, seemed okay, so I restarted (some driver updates).
-no only shows GPU LED, power supply fan spins up, then drops to idle... no video.
-disconnected all drives, same thing.
-reseated all cables, RAM, video card... same thing.
-booted with only MLB, Video card (GTX 1080)... same thing.
-tried booting with display connected to on-board video (DVI-I)... same thing.
-short of pulling the CMOS battery, I'm out of ideas.

Not even getting to a bios screen, but if I unplug the display, it shows the splash screen just fine. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi - I'm new to this forum and I understand enough about computers to be able to install new ram, power supply etc. but am not super proficient in the tech talk - know most the terms, not where to find them in the system/software.

Dell Optiplex GX 260 Pent 4 2.4 Ghz 1.5 Gig ram 40 G HD

Multiple program failures - even though software is still on hard drive, and shows on add/remove programs list in control panel - programs won't start, and WINDOWS INSTALLER comes up asking to put the CD Rom in - for most programs I don't have the CD as I got this computer used from someone and didn't get any software disks.

When rebooting - get a blue screen that has an error message saying one of the secondary hard drives needs to be checked for errors - it says I can abort scan if I want - just hit any key - but when I do this - it doesn't stop the scan or abort it as it should.

Can't run 'repair' on the Microsoft Office suite from add/remove programs panel - and it seems more programs keep failing.

I've checked and defragged the disks - and everything shows a status of OKAY - and I so have all my product keys from when I got the machine they were all written down and I've verified them using Belarc Advisor - the keys match what I had in my file - so the programs are still on my computer - its just not recognizing them for what ever reason.

I need you to validate your Windows OS again please from here left pane

It is acceptable to borrow your exact OS CD from a pal to run sfc /scannow to make sure you have no corrupt or missing .dll files on your OS. Running the scan without inserting your OS is not successful as if there are any issues, Windows needs to copy missing or corrupt files from the OS CD.

Have you got backup for your data on this system? Let us know so we can help you further as it maybe necessary to repair or format your HD. To do that you will need to buy a genuine copy of Windows Professional OS as you say you have no CD. As you have the product key for your OS, when you contact Microsoft to obtain a CD, you would need to have that handy.

Make sure all your Windows updates are current too.

Post a reply with answers to the above thanks......

I signed up with an ISP for a free e-mail account and one of the terms of service was that I agree not to block incoming ads.

I then decided to go for their paid premium web service. However, the ads did not stop after I started paying money and it was not part of the agreement that I receive the ads. As a remedy for all of this pesky immaturity, I created a link to my desktop that linked me directly to the directory where the ads were stored and after every use, I would delete the entire ad directory.

However, now the pesky spammer has resorted to more stealth tactics. If I log on with another ISP, the pesky spammer is loading my up hard drive to the same Juno Ad Directory with this junk. Is there a way to block these incoming transmissions?
I feel at this point I should be paid for all of the trouble I have been through instead of the other way around.

This is regarding the problem of a "error 49" in Juno 8 or juno 5.

The problem is in the programing from Juno. They cannot fix it DO NOT waste your time calling them.

It seems that they distributed the program to the consumer by just adjusting the format that their server uses. Their server limits email to 2.36GB after it deletes or refuses to allow anymore mail.

Myself and a group of gurus have tried to reprogram the software,, but cannot find the line of code that limits the mailbox to 2.36GB.

So if anyone can hack into juno and make a patch THANK YOU!!.

So the final message DON'T waste your time calling them or contacting the "help" center they do not know what they are doing. And you WILL lose ALL you email.

I lost over 10years of business mail. Thankfully I just backed up to an external drive.

Keep an eye on the size of your "mailbox.bdb" file. Delete as necessary. It's in
- documents and settings
- all users
- application data
- Juno
- user (0000) or as defined by your mail folder ie: 0001 0002 etc

Look at mailbox.bdb keep it under 2.25gb

Thanks hope this helps with all their BUGS...

I just redownloaded and installed Juno 5.1 on Vista and this problem still exists. Whe signing on I get a message "Juno has encountered a technical problem that makes it necessary to shut ther program down. .....You may restart Juno at any time.'; it has a box to put in comments. As suggested I moved this message and under it was another message that said 'Juno is verifying your email folders please wait (with an hourglass). I waited awhile, checked task & no cpu activity, closed it and juno shut down. I never got to my email.

I used the Juno backup software so I hope to be able to recover eventually.

I saw a thread that had the comment that Juno email in folders over 3 months can become corrupted. I have foders with email over 3 years. Could this be true.

Hi Heaty.

A stop 0x124 is supposed to be a hardware issue, mainly, but some other things are included in its scope, sometimes.

Dont overclock.

CPUID: "Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770K CPU @ 3.50GHz"
MaxSpeed: 3500
CurrentSpeed: 3510
As you are getting BSODs, you should stop overclocking and run all the hardware components like CPU, GPU and RAM to their default settings.

Test your RAM modules for possible errors.

Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.
If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.

Your dumps blame the RapportPG.sys and RapportCerberus32_43926.sys drivers used by software from Trusteer Rapport Security.

You should either upgrade or remove this program.

Your McAfee security software was also involved, it's a known cause of BSODs. Replace it with MSE.

windows 7 ultimate, service pack 1
Pentium dual core cpu
T4300 @ 2.10GHz x2
RAM 8.00GB
64bit OS
and my avg pc tune up software brought this to my attention! it gives me no option to update, install or roll back the driver and cant seem to find much info on the web about it other than the few steps ive tried i.e; Microsoft fix-it (didn't work), uninstalling the driver (made it disappeared altogether without the choice to reinstall, also lost the ability to connect to the internet obviously), also tried a program called "RestoreTCPIPProtocolDriverWindows7" (not sure what it did as it opened a CMD window and quickly disappeared) and finally i tried the winsock method (also did nothing)

 pc pic.jpg   108.26KB
the reason i suspected malware is that i recently used "mall-ware bytes" and found a few things that avg had missed!
also everytime windows starts up a quick command pops up with the MCE icon and quickly disapears (might not be related but has only started doing it recently)
hope the infomation helps and will be happy to provide more! also sorry if this is in the wrong section of the forum but this is my first post here
many thanks in advance

A:tcp/ip error 24 potential malware issue but unsure

Okay so you currently cannot connect to the internet and you possibly uninstalled your network driver and you may have malware.
I guess we need to get your internet working so you can head over to the " am I infected ? " section of the forum and have the malware pros help you.
Have you tried going to the samsung website and downloading/installing the current network drivers?  That would be my first thing to try.  Do you connect to the internet via wired or wireless connection?  There are two separate drivers that I saw.  One for wired and one for wireless.

We use Desktop Central to manage our windows updates. I've come across a new error that I have not seen all year. They are telling me it's a Microsoft error and they have no information on it.
I have a couple of Windows 7 machines that have the following error on multiple updates.
An attempt was made to create more links on a file than the file system supports.

Of the machines having this issue, they're not all the same KB. Using one of the machines as example, it's having this issue with 3 updates.
2019-10 Security Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB4519976)

2019-09 Security Only Quality Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB4516033)

2019-08 Security Only Quality Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB4512486)

Seems like the standard Windows Updates fix's aren't working. Software distribution folder rename, fixit tools, etc. I'm not see this on any of our Windows 10 machines.
Any idea how to go about resolving this? Reimaging is way at the bottom of the list due to these machines being at remote sites.

Hi there! I've gotten some random BSoDs the last couple of days (and a few other instances before that), and I'm wondering what's wrong and what I can do to fix it. I didn't catch the error code, nor am I sure where I can find that, so I apologize if that information was required in the thread title.

AMD Phenom II X4 965
4GB DDR3 Ram
Nvidia GTX560
Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Other info:
-Original OS installed
-Full retail
-System is 4 months old
-OS install is 4 months old

If I did anything else wrong in how I posted this/if you need more info, please let me know, and thank you for any help you can provide.

I apologize for the poor title, i will try to give a better explanation of the issue.

Initially the issue started 3-4 months ago, at which time i was using Windows 7. Around the same time one of my 2 CPU fans stopped working but because my temperature wasn't going above 50 degree celsius i was hesitant to replace any part so i kind of just ignored the issue because every test i ran at the time came back as everything is fine and the only log i could find was Kernel-Power "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."; which doesn't tell me much because i was forced into manually restarting my pc. Around January of 2015, i upgraded the OS to Windows 8.1 but the issue persisted. A week ago my CPU fan died and i replaced it with the EVO Hyper 212 as well as installed a new SSD drive (samsung pro 850).

The issue is hard to explain because it isn't a BSOD with a message to contribute. The timing seems random and not linked to when the pc is under stress (gaming). Sometimes it can happen right after booting, other times it won't happen for hours and sometimes it can happen several times in a very short time period.

Now for the issue itself. I have two monitors, each monitor will pick a random color from the rgb scale and take on that color for the entire screen. Monitor one might be blue and monitor two might be pink, moving the mouse or using the keyboard ... Read more

A:BSOD at random times, at any time. Unsure of error.

Edit 1 8:36 PM EST April 2nd: Following EVGA's suggestions i ran Heaven Benchmark 4.0 and 3D Mark tests. I tried to upload the html file xps/pdf files but it gave me an error saying invalid file type. Any recommendations?

Edit 2 1:11 AM EST April 3rd: So the issue happened two more times today. There is no dump file that was created but the event view does have the following.
No mini dumps were created

windows 7 won't reboot properly. I visited a site (p*&n) after antivirus expired. didn't see anything weird going on. days later when computer is started it goes to a black screen after account log in. Computer won't allow full instillation of antivirus in safe mode. error message recorded "installation successful, antivirus/ scan failed to download" < or something similar. i am unable to activate any windows security as i'm being denied (in safe mode). cmd prompt "sfc /scannow" entered, results "beginning verification phase of system scan. Verification 3% complete" results "windows resource protection could not perform the requested operation". Days before error and antivirus was active, the same command from cmd was completed successfully. What is causing this, i need to operate in normal mode, i am reporting from the possibly infected computer

Hi, you may need help from one of our Malware Experts.

Can you reach Safe Mode with Networking?

Run a Panda online virus scan.

Do you have the Win 7 install DVD?

Ok, firstly I will give my computer stats.
Asus motherboard M2N4-SLI
EVGA Geforce 8800 GTS 320 MB
Athlon X2 5600+ dual core
2GB corsair ram
Creative X-Fi extreme gamer card

My computer is about 3 weeks old and has been running just fine, playing all games properly. The only small problem i had was my motherboard cpu fan not working in its cpu fan pin, so instead i have it hooked up to a case fan pin. I am not sure if this means i have a faulty mobo or not.

Just yesterday I installed my brand new Creative sound card, I installed its software and drivers all fine and the PC restarted fine. Next creative wanted to update the drivers and I let it. After it was done installling the new drivers it needed a restart. On restart I could not even get to the post screen and was displayed with an error saying USB over current, PC shutdown in 20 seconds. At first i could not get past this error at all, so i tried taking out the sound card and putting inserting it again. I did not get the USB error now and was happy. I played Battlefield 2142 for a few hours then shut it down. Now today when i get home from work and turn it on i saw that USB over current error again and got quite frusterated. After taking the sound card out and putting it back in I had some new problems. I only saw my Asus Splash screen saying "press delete to enter setup" although pressing delete did nothing, it just hung on that screen.

After that i manually powered off and now i was receiving no screen a... Read more

Welcome to TSG....

First thing I would do is get the cpu fan working. usually they have several screws the hold them to the heatsink, I hope you did not take the heatsink off the processor because there is usually one of two things between the heatsink and processor, either a white goo called thermal compound or a little white square material that is thermally conductive if either of these have been disturbed or damaged it can cause the processor to overheat very quickly.
I would get a new fan assembly and remove the 4 screws and mount the new one on top of the heatsink and get it running.

Then worry about the rest of the things afterwards.

It seems my dad and Juno 8.8 are not getting along well.

I thought cleaning out his deleted-messages folder would impact this, but it hasn't.

The main executable (exec.exe) tends to, every few days, decide that it's damaged or corrupted and have Juno download a new instance of itself, and in the process erase at least his entry in the welcome box, and in some cases mine as well. There have also been occasional incidents in which backed-up mail data is restored, forcing him to go back through all his folders to delete duplicate items.

Given he is nearly 80 years old and naturally forgetful, I have to remind him any time this happens, that he can just click on 'Please enter member ID' in that welcome box, and re-enter his user name and password.

I'm just wondering why this has to happen more than once in the proverbial blue moon. There have been other problems with this computer (details upon request) of which I am not sure of their impact on this issue.

Q: Juno

I've been using Juno as my ISP for a long time. However, they have cut back support in my area and I'm really sick of their flakey software. I would like to move to a new ISP BUT - Is there a way to take my addresses in Juno and move them to a file that can then be incorporated in a new ISP file? I can print them, but retyping 100+ addresses is a daunting task. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
