I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hello,

I would appreciate any help with the following problem: the pc sometimes seemingly randomly shows BSOD with errors named in the title, I also attach corresponding screenshots. The problem wont happen if the PC power is supplied from the adapter AND there is some content running on the screen (video in VLC f.ex.). Other important symptoms are: Can not turn off the laptop. There will be endless blue screen saying shutting down, while PC already stopped working. I also can not get the PC to sleep. If i I go to sleep mode, display turns black, PC is still working on and on and I can not go back to desktop anymore.

Thank you very much for your help.

Ales

Hi. I'd appreciate help resolving the ongoing BSOD error I'm encountering for the past 3-4 weeks.

Test your RAM using Memtest86+. Let it run until 6-8 passes have completed or errors have been found.

You have AVG installed, is that correct? At least to test, uninstall it and install MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials) instead.

These drivers can be found by searching them in Google and then finding the associated software or driver. Finally, find the latest version of this driver or software and download and install it. Some of the drivers may also be found here (if the driver says 'Windows Update' simply make sure all Windows Updates are installed).

You should also update any other drivers you can think of including graphics, audio, chipset, SSD etc.

hey guys
randomly my computer started to freeze. when the computer would freeze the sound (if there was music or something) would be stuck in a loop, the keyboard and mouse would freeze and the fans in the computer would slow down if i was playing a video game and needed the fan to spin faster. sometimes it would unfreeze but sometimes it wouldn't. this eventually lead to me having to forcefully shut down my computer. over the course of time i started getting the DRIVER IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL error message as well as DRIVER POWER STATE FAILURE. sometimes when i turn off my computer the screen goes black, my keyboard and mouse turn off, but the light on my computer is on and the computer still runs. sometimes when choose restart it does the same thing, also when i boot it would freeze during the microsoft loading screen. i still randomly get these however it happens almost instantly when playing any type of computer game, it happens with lots of videos too if i'm watching any. i updated drivers for my graphics card that did nothing at all. also ran tests on hardware and ram memory, found no problems.
i ran the verifier and got this BSOD upon start up
0xC9(0x23E, 0xFFFFFA8004a002C0, 0xFFFFF98004EA6EE0, 0x0)

i have the zipped folder attached. i couldnt put perfmon on it because mine seemed to just get stuck at "collecting data for 60 seconds"

i was thinking it is a power supply issue so i ordered a new one from newegg and it should arrive tomorrow

Follow the instructions here, make sure to set a restore point before enabling verifier, also if you do not have Windows disk create a Windows repair disk

Thanks in advance to those that take the time to read this and help out!

So im having a series of issues and im putting them all here because im not sure if there related to each other or not but it seems something is messing up and a cascade of things are happening.

First: Every once in a while i get a BSOD, it happens randomly but today it happened after i was having an intense gaming session. in the midst of battle i was pulled out against my will with a BSOD getting the Driver IRQL NOR LESS OR EQUAL Stop: 0x000000D1 i would like to post what else it said but i have no file on the mini dump. so i downloaded "whocrashed" and bluescreenviewer to hopefully catch it next time it happens and i will post.

Looking for potential culprits i find this Kernel power issue 41 in my event viewer, and obviously i do not know what could be, ive done some research before starting this thread but havent found a reasonable way to fix it.

Finally, one of my biggest issues is Sound, i do alot of music production and i keep getting crackling noises here and there during playback, which i didnt get before and is extremely anoying, messing with buffering and bit settings hasnt been successful, using LATENCY MON i get this:

This is a pretty much brand new laptop, that worked for 5 weeks no problem, but since changing country's and setting up my own wifi hotspot this seems to be happening. Below is the event log, and attached is the dm Log Collector file.

It also seems to happen whilst watching netflix, but this could just be a coincidence because I watch a lot of netflix. I also recently fully updated windows, and my graphics. Still seems to happen.

If I have not given enough information, please ask and I will provide. Thanks in advance.

The memory dumps blame your networking drivers (e22w8x64.sys) - but as you've recently changed a lot related to your networking - I'd suggest running Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings

Also, please update your networking drivers to the latest, Win8.1 compatible version available from the manufacturer's website. Your drivers date from March of 2013 - well before Win8.1 came out.

Like many of you here, I am experiencing the same problems with this DRIVER IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL thing (and its little deviant error spawns that plague my computer) and I am coming to this forum for help. I guess the thing to do is to give a little background information:

Computer:
IBM Thinkpad (i series), Intel Celeron Processor (running at 500MHz) 256M of Ram, 6G HD (partitioned 5G for OS and a few essential programs and 1G for storing data), I have a dialup connection (though I have a LAN card installed as well). An external keyboard, mouse, and monitor compliment the PC (for ease of use?I am a freelance writer and do a lot of typing). I also have an HP inkjet printer. (Note: everything with exception to the monitor is connects via a USB Hub.

Software:
WinXP Home Edition (with SP1) updated with all critical updates except SP2.
MS Office 2003 (Complete with MS One Note) full install minus web features.
Mozilla Firefox (for browsing without the hassle of popups and whatnot).
AVG Antivirus Personal Edition, updated
Ad-aware SE, updated
Miscellaneous programs related to writing.
Hotmail Popper (for downloading all Hotmail accounts using MS Outlook 2003).

Problem:
Monday, December 6, 2004, I used my computer with no problem. I did some research on the internet, downloaded my email, and worked on a few projects. On Tuesday, December 7, 2004, I sat at my computer and within 10 minutes of working, the Blue Screen of Death appeared with the DRIVER IRQL NOT LESS ... Read more

I made a mistake and changed the date of my computer in the BIOS. Then I was booting it up, not realizing my friend's Windows Vista disc was in the drive. I cancelled out and restarted. Now, 90% of the time, I get the DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error when I start up. I looked in the event viewer, and sure enough, there is an error at the time that I altered the BIOS time (complete with the incorrect date). I am assuming that I screwed something up and that this is not an extremely coincidental hardware issue. My guess is something with a driver that was altered because of the Vista disc. I need to fix this soon. Can someone, anyone, please help out?

A:driver irql not less or equal error

Having the Vista disk in there didn't do anything. A hard forced shutdown could have whacked a piece of hardware, and that is what that error means. As for what it is, start removing plugs and pci devices until all is well.

From what I can understand of research I've done on this error, it's usually hardware or malware based. I haven't seen anything that seems to be my situation exactly yet though, and I've followed the steps that seemed most straight forward and simple to do so far.

Initially, the computer would cut display to the monitor occasionally and at random. (I thought it was overheating initially, or that my power supply wasn't sufficient - it's 400 watts) Then one day it started displaying a BSOD instead. Here's some of the information I pulled.

STOP: 0x000000D1 (0x00000000, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0xB6FA0F2A)

It involves the file sxuptp.sys

This happened when I was casually downloading a manga file when my CPU usage suddenly spiked to 100%. Everything started operating at a snail's pace and I eventually had to cut the power on my laptop.

What happened next is a blue screen that stops me from booting up Windows normally under normal circumstances. (sometimes, if I operate on Safe Mode and uninstall a program or do a restart after modifying something on my MSConfig, I might be able to use normal windows. But the blue screen sometimes returns regardless in the middle of my work.)

I'm pretty sure it's not a virus. Possibly, something in my OS Driver might have have become corrupted. It happened once before with the driver for my monitor, but nothing nearly as bad, and I was able to fix that with System Restore. Unfortunately, I have no restore point ready this time so I'm stuck.

Here are all the technical info that I copied down. The blue screen prevents windows from booting up normally, except under Safe Mode. Some exceptions apply that I've noted above. Its recommendation was that I uninstall whatever hardware I might have recently installed but I do not think it is a hardware problem. (like I said, it happened while I was downloading a manga chapter, definitely virus/spyware free.)

Hello Romo and welcome to TechSpot.

It seems that NDIS.sys is a part of your network card's drivers.

If you can get into Windows (perhaps safe mode is necessary):

Go start-->run, type in sysdm.cpl.

Click the 'Hardware' tab, and click on 'Device Manager.'

Click on the plus (+) sign next to 'Network adapters.'

Doubleclick on the network adapter that you normally use, then click on the 'Driver' tab, and click 'Update driver.'

See if that solves the problem.

Remove Norton Antivirus, it's causing BSOD-s for you:
ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/englis...moval_Tool.exe

If the removal tool does not work, use the free version of Revo Uninstaller to uninstall Norton:
Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download - Uninstall software, remove programs, solve uninstall problems

The built-in Windows Defender is a robust antivirus and you do not need 3rd party anti virus programs on Win 8.
I would still recommend you to download and install the free version of Malware Bytes and run weekly scans.

McAffee is a frequent cause of BSOD's. I would remove and replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials AT LEAST TO TEST!

Very intelligent people often post their issues, and are so close to solving it themselves, if they only knew it. One small step away!

Uninstall Quickheal, set Windows Firewall to Automatic and start it too. Do the same for Windows Defender.

Hello people, firstly im new so hello everyone.
I have a laptop which is running windows vista 32 bit, intel celeron 1.86ghz, 512 ram.

Just recently i have had a windows stop error appear. It only seems to pop up when the computer has been left idle for a period of time and never shows up when starting up or shutting down. Since it only pops up for a brief ammount if time, i cannot read the full error but im able to see this "Driver IRQL Not Less or Equal" I cant think of anything that i have done to cause this apart from maybe installing a non compatible driver. I havent added any hardware or anything like that.
I know there is a tool for collecting dump files, could someone please point me in the right direction so i could upload the results?

Thanks in advance

A:Bsod stop error. Driver IRQL Not Less or Equal

The dumpfile is a temporary file and most times is deleted after a reboot.

Have you checked the device manager for any errors with hardware?

I have read all the other posts on this and followed all of the directions I could and still NoJoy. I Thought maybe it was related to my WIFI antenna or McAfee so I re installed both of them.

The systeminfo.txt and MSINFO32.nfo reports are missing from the uploaded reports. Those are the one's that I use the most. Please rerun the report app and let it run for at least 15 minutes (or until the app itself says it's finished). Then zip it up and upload it with your next post.

It seems that you have a wireless USB network adapter:

I do not recommend using wireless USB network devices. Especially in Win7/Win8 systems.
These wireless USB devices have many issues with Win7(and I suspect with Win8) - using Vista drivers with them is almost sure to cause a BSOD.
Should you want to keep using these devices, be sure to have Win7/Win8 drivers - DO NOT use Vista drivers!!!
An installable wireless PCI/PCIe card that's plugged into your motherboard is much more robust, reliable, and powerful.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Hi! I've been getting a ndis.sys BSOD error from time to time, and I can't find out which driver/what is causing it. I only have one minidump since I've discovered recently my minidumps weren't saving, and only after using a guide online I managed to make it work last week when another BSOD had happened (it had been a different error, but it was ndis.sys as well).

I've had some Atheros errors in the past, so I'm not sure if that's causing it or something else, like a Realtek driver because when I used the verifier and selected Atheros (and ran it for about 5 minutes - or should you let it run longer?), everything was okay.

Below is the DM Log made with AVG Free and Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit temporarily turned off. Thank you!

Related to your directX driver. Could be the driver, card, heat, power, etc.

I would start by running an SFC

Run a system file check to verify and repair your system files.
To do this type cmd in search, then right click to run as administrator, then
SFC /SCANNOW

Read here for more information SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Let us know the results from the report at the end.

I keep getting a blue screen error "Driver IRQL not less or equal (rtwlane.sys). The system is set to auto-update drivers, and tells me that all drivers are up to date. Despite that, when I go to the HP site's software/drivers download page and it ID's my system, it offers me a whole list of drivers. The Realtek driver rtwlane.sys is NOT on that list. The driver currently on my system is Realtek PCIE NDIS Driver 38846, version 2023.19.831.2015, modified 10/14/2015. I searched the Realtek site for a newer version of this file, and Realtek told me that NO version of that file was found. Under Realtek's PCIE offerings, there is nothing that says NDIS, and the only Win 10 file is a Win 10 Auto Install program. Every  mention of this problem -- and there are so many, on multiple boards -- indicates that the way to fix this is "simply" to go to Realtek and download the newer version of the driver. If only I could find it. Any suggestions? Thanks!

First off, this all started when I tried to install new ram into my computer. It worked for a day, and when i tried to restart my computer, I got the driver irql blue screen error. I swapped my old ram back in, and still same thing. I proceed to run diagnositic and repair tools, it it runs the chkdsk and begins deleting orphan files etc. I restart after its done and still same thing.

I thought my hard drive was dying, so I moved it to another computer and reinstalled windows 7. When I move it back, I get blue screen again and it says chkdsk F:.

Now I have two hard drive which both have windows 7 installed. One blue screens with chkdsk error during the windows logo. The 2nd one goes all the way to the mouse, but the screen blacks out and nothing happens.
When I try to boot up from my window 7 disk so I can reinstall it, it only gets up to the mouse and nothing else pops up.

Anyone have any idea what is going on? Its not my hard drive since I can put it in another computer and it starts up fine. My old ram should still work. I pulled the battery from my mobo and set to fail safe bio settings.

any help would be much appreciated

A:Blue Screen to Fail loading (Driver IRQL Not less than or Equal Error)

First, rest your hardware/software connections with the BIOS:
Shut down and turn off the computer.

Unplug the computer from the wall or surge protector (then remove the battery if it is a laptop).

"Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station, disconnect cables to printers or devices such as external monitors, USB memory sticks or SD cards, headset or external speakers, mouse or auxiliary keyboard, turn off WIFI and Bluetooth wireless devices." ( Use Hard Reset to Resolve Hardware and Software Issues HP Pavilion dv5000 Notebook PC series - HP Customer Care (United States - English)).

Hold down the power button for 30 seconds. This closes the circuit and ensures all power from components is drained to clear the software connections between the BIOS and hardware and clear any corruption in the temporary memory.

(If it is a laptop, plug the battery back into the laptop and then) Plug the computer back into the wall. Do not reconnect any unnecessary peripherals; monitor, keyboard, and mouse should suffice and be the only peripherals reconnected.

Turn it on to reinitialize the software connections between the BIOS and hardware.

See if that allows you to boot the Windows installation media.

If not, proceed through the steps to fix Windows 7 / Vista is unable to boot.

Hi, I've been searching for about 2 weeks now online for a solution to some of the problems I'm having with my laptop and I haven't found anything to be much help so far so I'm hoping maybe some of you could help me.

I own a Gateway M460 3400383 Laptop with Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2.
Some history of the computer:
The computer was used when I got it from a friend. I plugged it in and started the computer up, I rebooted with XP Home edition and the computer seemed to be working fine except that I needed drivers for everything. I used a friend's laptop to get the drivers I need onto a flash drive and installed them into the Gateway and got everything working.
The computer was pretty fast, wasn't freezing, no error messages but once I installed my web cam the computer started to move slower whether I was using the cam or not.
Even without the cam plugged in my USB port.

Problems:
Eventually things got worse because instead of listening and enjoying music with my laptop, the sound that plays on anything with the computer skips, jumps, lags and while it's doing this the task manager shows my CPU usage full. If I continue playing the music I will usually get the blue screen saying
" Kernel data inpage error" or the "driver irql not less or equal" error screen and it does the memory dump.
My computer also makes a clicking sound when this happens usually and I can hear it running loudly.

so i get the blue screen error, and i believe its caused by the driver on my "Netgear FA311 Fast ethernet adapter" which is a VERY old network card. the onboard ethernet connection stopped working for some reason, i put the E-cord in and the little box blinks just as it should, but my comp says its unconnected....

the fast ethernet adapter card is so old that i can't find newer drivers for it than drivers from 2002, theres a few programs that tell me i can't download things normally because of an driver problem on the network adapter, and...its so old it can't be updated anymore....i've looked

how do i make the onboard ethernet connection work again? what drivers would i look for? i'm assuming motherboard drivers? but is that chipset? or ***?

i'm only relativly familiar with this stuff... and when i try to download programs or do a lot at the same time the comp crashes to that same driver IRQL crap. its taking me liek a week to download an 18GB program (World of Warcraft if you're curious).

also, i'm told (from a questionable source) that letting it do the "memory dump" isn't good, to turn off your comp manually with the power button ASAP...true or not true? i figured it was true, because dumping memory doesnt sound...pleasant.

help!

The most probable cause it your McAfee Software, you should remove it and use MSE instead

Please remove any CD virtualization programs such as Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%. They use a driver, found in your dmp, sptd.sys, that is notorious for causing BSODs. Use this SPTD uninstaller when you're done: DuplexSecure - Downloads

I have so far tried unsuccesfully reformatting, it worked for around a month, but now not at all. Ran memory diagnostics and says everything is normal. Ran sfc/ scannow and no problems. Updated all of my drivers. Ran malwarebytes 0 infections. Lenovo solution center says all hardware works properly. Windows is up to date.

It is a new computer only around 2 months since I bought it.

Having lots of issues, i'm sure someone out there knows what this is.

stop: 0x000000D1 (ox000000000000001C, 0x0000000000000002, 0x00000000000001, 0xFFFFF88001A7B3BA)

tcpip.sys - address FFFFF88001A7B3BA at FFFFF88001A02000, DateStamp 4c15a458.

It's a Lenovo Thinkpad Edge 14, Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit (OEM). I've gone through and updated every driver through system tools and have unistalled and reinstalled any necessary programs within the last month. I have not messed with the registry as that is above my knowledge to do so. The BSOD is intermittent, however I mostly use Internet Explorer, Word 2007, Itunes and/or Final Draft 8 when this seems to occur the most. Any insight would be appreciated.

tcpip.sys is usually caused by the Networking drivers, update them

A while back my laptop began showing the 'blue screen of death' seemingly randomly, getting more and more frequent until it wouldn't turn on at all; i sent it to a computer technician who said that the RAM was hanging out but that shouldnt affect much, otherwise it was pretty much dead. I sent it to the manufacturer and they replaced the motherboard under warranty (but said they couldnt boot up, so i should reinstall windows, which i did). I got it back a few days ago but already the blue screen has begun again; once it stayed on long enough to see the message 'DRIVER IRQL NOT LESS THAN OR EQUAL'- i saw somewhere that this might be to do with the RAM? Can I fix this or do I need to contact the manufacturer again? Thanks

A short while back, I posted a query in the Hardware forum about a warning message that said, "Warning!!! The previous performance of overclocking is failed". I got some very helpful advice which centred on potential mobo problems. That warning has now disappeared, but instead I am getting and intermittent BSOD that says "Driver IRQL not less or equal". I have not installed any new hardware recently, and the only software change has been to uninstall and reinstall SpyBot.

I read somewhere that this error message may be an indication of hardware problems, and given my previous difficulty, is it possible that this BSOD is an indication of a failing mobo - or some other hardware issue? If so, is there any reliable way of testing the mobo to see whether I should seriously consider replacing it. I am running Windows XP Home with SP3.

Many thanks
