[SOLVED] Device Display Object Function Discovery Provider

Q: [SOLVED] Device Display Object Function Discovery Provider

Hello...I am running Windows 7 64-Bit. Recently, I was accessing the Devices and Printers menu (from the Start Menu) and received the following error, which of course, stops me from seeing my printers:

Device Display Object Function Discovery Provider has stopped working.

Does anyone know how to correct this? I tried the "find an online solution option" the error gave me, but that did not do anything.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Added a new HP M604 printer to the network to replace an M601 printer that was no longer working. The printer is deployed via group policy as a deployed printer. The printer is using the Universal Printer Driver PCL 6. I can access the printer properties

Hi - I'm unable to turn on Network Discovery, and the problem looks like it might be because the Function Discovery Resource Publication Service will not turn on. I have it set to Automatic, but when I try to Start the error 0x80070005 Access Denied error is returned. I am running Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 - turning that off doesn't help. Thanks for any help you can give.

There are several possible causes for this problem which comes up all the time.

The link below shows many possible solutions, read through the thread and see if you are having similar problems. Check to see if you have the tunnel adaptor problem, posting the ipconfig/all would also be helpful.

I have a Windows XP PC dedicated to a machine that is constantly sending data via a serial port to the PC. When we power up the system the PC will sometimes think that the serial data coming in is a "new device" and installs it as a serial mouse. When the boot process is complete the PC runs a program from the Startup folder. When this program tries to open the serial port it is blocked by the "serial mouse" it thinks is there.

We have tried many things to prevent this problem. Disabling the mouse in Device Manager works for a while but eventually XP decides there is something wrong and does things like disable the COM port. We have tried disabling the Plug N Play services using MSCONFIG. This does not seem to prevent the detection of the "serial mouse" on boot up. We have a fixed set of hardware and software for this system that will never change. So I'd like to just disable all (or serial) device discovery on boot up. How is this done on XP? Thanks.

Overview:

I have a form with a subform. When I try to add a record in the subform, I get the error in the title.
Here are the specifics:

The purpose of the main form is to show the financial information related to a specific project, which was chosen on the previous form. The subform on the main form displays each of the payments associated with the project (there can be infinite payments per project, and the relationships have indeed been set in the Relationships window).
The main form data source: qry_all_project_info_by_project_id (pulls data from tblProjects table)

Subform data source: tblAdditionalPayments (this is where I want to add in new payments associated with the project.

Subform master link field: tblProjects.__pkProjectID

Subform child link field: _fkProjectID (from tblAdditionalPayments)
The exact error, which pops up when adding new record in the subform: "The LinkMasterFields property has produced an error. 'The object doesn't contain the automation object 'tblProjects.'"

I've been looking for a solution for hours in over a dozen different forums, but I can't figure out what's wrong, as most people have simply been forgetting to set their master/child field or fixing the problem by re-creating the tables on which the forms are based. Neither approach has worked for me. Any help would be HIGHLY appreciated. Thank you so much in advance.

A:Solved: Access 2007- Object doesn't contain the automation object

Like everyone else who's had this problem, instead of actually solving the problem, I managed to find a work around. The actual cause of this problem continues to be completely illusive.

What I ended up doing was completely deleting the content of subform's Master and Child link fields (which let me enter new records, but not associated with any specific project). Instead of relying on this link to make sure I was making new records associated with a specific project, and instead made created a hidden field that had a default value of the correct project ID, then I linked that hidden field to the field in the table that holds the foreign keys.

Hello

There is a problem in which Flash Player stops once during the operation of the business portal currently operating based on Flash Player, so please contact us.

As a result of the verification, it is confirmed that it is not related to Adobe's Flash Player and is related to the function of Shockwave Flash Object installed in Windows 10 Internet Explorer 11.

Therefore, I would like to know whether it is possible to delete and reinstall the Shockwave Flash Object function.
And I would like to know if it is possible to upgrade or downgrade only the version of the Shockwave Flash Object (or any other related function) while leaving the version of Internet Explorer.

Thank you.

Hi all, 1st post here!

Windows 8.1, when on home or work (non-public) network setting, loves to sniff out any new computer or device added to the network. This is making me crazy. Anyone aware of a setting that tells Windows 8 to NOT sniff out any new added networked device? I mean, without telling Windows 8 it's on a public network, which then breaks it from working with devices that I've previously manually setup.

thanks....!

Hi everyone!

It's me again, your least common denominator guy in networking. If you can explain it to me, you can explain it to anyone. I LOVE SevenForums because this is such an awesome community with supporting stars who have written many great tutorials.

I come to you today asking for a recommendation for a visual tool to use on my home network (or is it networks?) to discover devices and find connectivity paths. I'm a windows 7 pro user (that's 7 pro, not that i'm not a pro user, but hey.) So, I have used the usual Network and Sharing Center, but find it only shows me a bit at a time. This is a problem.

A problem? Well yes, I have a few oddities going on and want to sort things out. First some general connection info: I have two ISPs as I am currently in transition from one to the other and satisfied with neither just yet. I have both ethernet and wi-fi. Eventually, I hope to have a dual connection off my router to assure connectivity, uptime, bandwidth (or should I say capacity?) etc.

Now, some of my current issues are sorting out why I cannot print sometimes but can other times (my printer is on a bridge), but to remind you, I am starting out here just looking for a good visual investigative tool. I'll log the specific problems in another thread. But to demonstrate some of the complexity, if the dual network described above is not enough, I have a couple images to show you about things I need to investigate and get working properly. // Images attached

I don't know why this is happening, but I'm assuming it might have something to do with running an application from tweaking.com called Windows Repair, which I paid the extra money for the Pro version, since I noticed this problem shortly after running this application.

First, I started troubleshooting a problem when my Nvidia GeForce Experience app quit recognizing my PC from my Nvidia Shield Android TV. When I go into Network and Sharing settings and then advanced settings, Network Discovery is unchecked, media streaming is not enabled, and whenever I try changing the settings to enable them, it never saves them. I tried using my WiFi connection to connect to my router, instead of the hardwired connection I usually use, but I have this problem on any network connection. I tried running the Windows troubleshooting on my Homegroup connection, which first tells me it will check the network settings first, and when it runs the Network Troubleshooting, it tells me that the peer to peer networking services aren't running. When I click on the option to change these settings, it comes back with an error telling me it can't change them.

There have been other instances when I try making changes to something in Windows or deleting some old directories and cache in my Windows User Profile directory (old software that was removed long ago but the directories still exist) but I couldn't delete them because I didn't have the authorization to. I've run across this error frequently ... Read more

We are testing a credential provider for self-service password reset from a third party.  A problem we are having is that the credential provider package installs a new "Windows tile" to perform the password reset from the Windows login screen.
The only other tile available to an end-user is "Other User."
Essentially, the only tiles we can see with this credential provider installed is the new credential provider tile and other user.  Is anyone aware of anyway that we can have a credential provider installed and still show the tile with the last logged
on username? This issue mainly concerns Windows 7.

We are under the impression that the last logged on username cannot be displayed when a credential provider is installed.
Any information on this is appreciated.

I've recently had to re-install windows XP on my Dell Dimension 9100 and have re-installed the chipset (Intel(R) 945GV Express) and other drivers from the Resources CD.

In Device Manager, my last conflict is shown in 'Other Devices' as 'PCI Device' - Location: PCI bus 0, device 27, function 0, says manufacturer unknown.

Any ideas as to what this could be please?

Can't physically find a slot zero on the motherboard, whilst the Sound card is in PCI slot 5 and the card driving the monitor is in slot 2 (odd, since the ATI Radeon X300 driver says it's in slot 10).

Any idea what's missing? I've seen other old threads with similar PCI conflict but they're with different cards and regrettably don't appear to have a solution, so apologies for posting this again.

Best regards

Phil

Try reinstalling your display driver and directX.

You didn't download a registry optimizer did you? They cause problems.

My computer hasn't updated for a while. So I had some reasonably large updates recently. However as they completed, my resolution automatically switched (suddenly) to 800x600. My Graphics card (slightly old now) GeForce GT 530 can run on 1920x1080. However when I looked to set it back to the original resolution, my options were limited and there was not option for 1920x1080 option for me to set.

I tried a restart (hoping for a simple fix) but it still stayed the same. Restored to default settings in the boot menu. I also tried to have a look in device manager, though the 'Display Adapters' tab was not on there at all. I tried to search for new hardware and update all the drivers on my Gcard but everything was up to date.

It's nothing to serious, it's just annoying because it warps my measurements and shapes when designing and editing.

Thankyou in advance for any help :)

Hey guys,I am helping my roommate out with his dell that has been infected with a type of Malware. On start-up I receive the following error, " HP AiO Device Object Server Wait For Service (RPCSS) failed: hRes=0x80004005" The Start Menu cannot be seen or accessed as well as any part of the tool bar. Every folder cannot be moved, making it very hard to system restore without losing all his pictures. Internet Explorer will not open, and I installed Firefox only to find out internet is not working on it either. Using a thumb drive I transfered and ran Ad-Aware 2007 only to be met with the following error " System error:1810 has occurred. Description: Service is not online. Application terminates." I then decided to attempt to run Spy Bot Search and Destroy only to have the program not even open. Included below is a HijackThis Log and any help would be greatly appreciated! Hello valbrandr and welcome to the BC HijadkThis forum. I don't see any signs of viruses or malware in the log. It is clean. It would appear that the issue is not related to any type of malicious software. It does appear that this machine has some issues with various services not starting. None of the Symantec services or teh AdAware service show as running. The issues with AdAware are documented as potential problems on their support forum.Let's run one other scan to make sure that there are no lurking files that HijackThis is not seeing. If that comes back clean we might want to send you over to the XP forum and have them take a look at any operating system issues that might be involved.Download WinPFind35u.exe to your Desktop and double-click on it to extract the files. It will create a folder named WinPFind35u on your desktop.Note: You must be logged on to the system with an account that has Administrator privileges to run this program.Close ALL OTHER PROGRAMS.Open the WinPFind3u folder and double-click on WinPFind35U.exe to start the program (if you are running on Vista then right-click the program and choose Run as Administrator). In the Drivers section click on Non-Microsoft.Under Additional Scans click the checkboxes in front of the following items to select them:Reg - BotCheck

Hi,

I have just found a double entry for the Intel(R) 82852/82855 GM/GME graphics controller and the Plug & Play monitor in Device Manager on my Windows XP SP3 machine.

I suspect that there should only be one entry and the other thing is that the computer is very slow - checking the resources tab on the graphics driver shows both entries are using different memory resources. One entry has a full record of memory resources, IRQ, I/O range listed. The other entry has two memory resources only listed.

The question is: is it safe for me to remove one of these entries, however, since they are different can I delete both and have windows redetect and install one correct entry?

I'm assuming Windows will detect this adapter - how do I know it will as opposed to having to install it myself?

Surely the Plug and play monitor is a duplicate entry? This is a laptop and there is so second monitor in use.

Many thanks for any help

Here's the deal - I have a quick shortcut to my C drive on the desktop, so that I can just double-click it and go straight to browsing my files. However, today, the search function decided to make itself the primary function. When I double-click it now, it opens a search window instead of the C: drive.

Can someone tell me how to make it so double-clicking it will, by default, use the "open" function instead of "search?" Thanks in advance!

Hello! I've been having issues with my computer freezing for no reason.

I'm starting to notice a pattern, it doesn't usually freeze while I am playing games or doing anything extensively, but rather, when I am a reading an article online or when I leave the computer to go take a shower! In other words, when it's idle...

SO! I did a performance test for my PC, and the only error it gave me was a missing driver...

BUT, I went to Asus's website, and downloaded the new chipset and intel USB drivers, and the error is still showing up.

Its says the location for it is: PCI bus 6, device 0, function 0

Says: The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

I have no idea where else I can find this driver.

I was under the impression that you either install Intel or Asusmedia USB drivers and not both.. should I do both?

Hello,
I just recently experienced an issue with my usb keyboard, but now i notice that my mouse isn't working normal either.
The functions on my keyboard have switched. Example: When i try typing a web address in the search engine, I'll press the H key and it will bring up the history tab. And other keys will bring up other things. However, My CTRL ALT DELETE works. I lso noticed with my mouse that when i have a minimized window that i can't just click it to maxamize, i need to right click and the click on maxamize. The only key that appears to be performing is the spacebar. I've tried plugging in a different keyboard and the problem still persists. I did use the mouse and keyboard with my laptop before plugging them back into my desktop, i dont know if that would have an effect on its function or driver.
Help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

As you all know, the "Driver" tab of every device inside Device Manager shows a device's name, driver provider and driver version (as shown in the image)

Is there a command line which could list out (in table format) the name, driver provider and driver version of every device (without grouping them within nodes if possible)?

I'm only interested in device, not driver.  I carefully chose the word "device" instead of "driver" because a device can be made up of several driver (files) which could be at different version amongst them.

I've tried devcon (command is devcon find *) but it doesn't match what I'm looking for -- it's showing a lot of things that I don't even know what they are.  And there's no driver provider or version.

I've also treid driverquery, but it lists driver files instead of
device, and doesn't show version number.

Is there other alternatives?
TIA
