Problem with P50 and latest Quadro video drivers (M1000M).

Q: Problem with P50 and latest Quadro video drivers (M1000M).

Hi; I just got a P50 EQ20 with M1000M video (I believe). This seemed to be working o.k. until I tried installing the Lenovo video drivers from the Lenovo P50 download site. The 'ThinkPad Video Features (NVIDIA N16S / Quadro N16P) for Windows 10 (64-bit) - ThinkPad P50' ones. (These say they are version ''.) After that, the Thinkpad display had a serious display problem. Even though it appeared that the resolution was still set to 1920x1080, everything was compacted down to the maybe the middle quarter of the laptops screen. There were large black bars at the top bottom left and right of the actual area being shown. This made everything very small and mostly illegible. With some great effort, and some guessing at what I was actually selecting, I was able to uninstall the new drivers and everything is working again (apparently with the older drivers). Are these the right drivers and do they work for everyone else? They seem to be the same ones listed if I run 'Lenovo Companion'/'Lenovo system update'. But, trying to install this from there results in a 'failed install' for some reason. I am currently running Windows 10 1703 and again using the Nvidia driver I have it set in BIOS to 'Discreet mode', so I think it is only using the Nvidia drivers. It is booting in Secure boot/UEFI only. The BIOS is 1.43. Thanks;

Preferred Solution: Problem with P50 and latest Quadro video drivers (M1000M).

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

I have a Lenovo P50 with the NVIDIA Quadro M1000M installed. I want to run an accelerated Windows VM under Linux by passing through the GPU and using the Intel HD Graphics GPU under Linux. Unfortunately, both QEMU and Xen fail to read the VBIOS (Video ROM) when starting up the Windows VM. I am inquiring about reading the VBIOS under Linux or downloading a VBIOS that I can use with QEMU. My QEMU command line is:sudo qemu-system-x86_64 \-serial none \-parallel none \-nodefaults \-nodefconfig \-no-user-config \-name Windows \-enable-kvm \-cpu host \-m 4096 -mem-prealloc \-vga none -M q35 \-rtc base=localtime, clock=host, driftfix=none \-net none \-device ich9-usb-uhci3,id=uhci -device usb-ehci,id=ehci -device nec-usb-xhci,id=xhci \-device vfio-pci,host=01:00.0,addr=09.0 \-drive if=pflash,format=raw,readonly,file=/usr/share/ovmf/x64/ovmf_code_x64.bin \-drive if=pflash,format=raw,file=/tmp/ovmf_vars_x64.bin \-drive if=virtio, format=raw, file=Windows.img

I got a Thinkpad P50 not too long ago and I've tried to search around but I don't understand laptop GPUs very well. My question is this- if I upgrade my ram from 8GB will my Quadro M1000M also get a larger shared memory pool for VRAM? Hopefully I'm using the correct terminology here... lol. I just want a bit of a performance jump for texture sizes in games, etc.

I'm unable to get the 3D stereographics to work for my new Precision 5510, which comes with the discrete  NVIDIA Quadro M1000M graphics card.
The graphics card is supposed to support 3D Vision.  I bought a 3D Vision 2 kit, with the IR emitter and glasses.  I am using the ASUS VG278 LCD monitor, ensuring that it's at 120 Hz.
I also am using the Thunderbolt Dock - TB15 with 240W Adapter.  I have a StarTech DisplayPort to Dual Link Active Adaptor connected to the TB15, which then connects to the ASUS VG278 through a dual link DVI cable.
I've updated all the latest TB15 drivers and 5510 laptop drivers.
When I power on the system, the green light from the NVIDIA emitter is the steady green light glow.  I can not figure out how to get the 3D stereo graphics to turn on.  After a few minutes, the emitter starts flashing to the bright intense green light, then turns off the light altogether.  I've been tinkering for a month and can't get it to work.
My last laptop was an HP, which I was able to get configured for 3D Vision.  I am very familiar with the NVIDIA Control Panel.
I'm using the same software for 3D stereographics on this new Dell 5510 as I was on my HP.  Both laptops use discrete NVIDIA graphics cards that are meant for 3D Vision stereographics.

Has anyone experienced this issue below? I disable my internal Quadro M1000M, I plug in my eGPU (AORUS 1070 Gaming Box) via Thunderbolt, use it for a while. Then when I'm done using it, I unplug it, re-enable my Quadro M1000M and plug in my external monitor via HDMI.   The display driver crashes for both my Quadro M1000M and my Intel HD Graphics 530 and the external monitor never works.  Microsoft starts a Microsoft Basic Display Driver. I tried disabling and re-enabling both display adapters but external monitor still won't work, it just crashes the adapters again. The only fix to this issue I have found is to uninstall the Quadro M1000M in the device manager and restart the computer. Then after it restarts, I can use the external monitor again with the Quadro M1000M. So it's easy to do and not a huge pain in the butt, but if anyone knows a way to fix this issue without needing to restart my computer, that would be a great help.

I just purchased a Dell Precision 5510 with a Xeon CPU and the Quadro GPU: http://www.ebay.com/itm/291755935648
I plan on promptly upgrading the SSD to a PCIe NVMe SSD if it does not have one, the 16GB RAM is fine for now but I like that I have the option to go up to 32GB when I choose to.
I had some questions for anyone who is using this for more intense work in 3D or digital imaging, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of information out there except that the Quadro 1000m is mostly better than a GTX 960-970m GeForce card because most 3D software is more compatible with it and it is more efficient in rendering which means better performance overall – is this true or just marketing for a lower powered GPU?
I mainly use Maya, Cinema 4D, After Effects and Photoshop in my workflow, most of the work is performed by the CPU but a decent GPU helps to boost render times with certain software and plugins for said software.
I read that the Xeon CPU is built for 24/7 high load server work and enterprise solutions and that it is more effective at heat dissipation than a GeForce variant. I really liked the idea of the laptop handling heat and performace better in this workstation type of a laptop, I plan to keep it cooled with a pad because I know that rendering can be a huge task for most laptops. What I gathered from that info is that I could use this for rendering and not really worry about frying the mobo like might happen with an i7 and GTX combina... Read more

Here's the story:
Twenty days ago, I asked a friend to buy this card(only the card) from ebay and recieved it on August 26th. I was planning to use it with a new system so I did not test this card in my old system immediately upon its arrival. It was also because i had trusted the seller( "Positive Feedback: 99.9% against DOA") and that the card looks reasonably new.
Well i then spent about a week researching and getting my parts(some parts i wanted were either out of stock or unavailable in my area). On Sept. 2nd, I got my system built and the card installed.

First, I connected the card to my lcd monitor with a dvi cable. Then when i turned the pc on, the A.I. picture(motherboard: Asus p4p800 se) showed up with Green Vertical Lines and messed-up colors. I thought it was normal and proceeded with my Windows Xp cd.

On the final boot after the installation, all those lines were gone(the bios picture, the windows startup logo and the desktop). So I went on and installed the 61.76 driver. When I restarted the computer, however, all those lines came back and i could no longer see my desktop(only a mouse pointer and a black bg with a lot of noise were visible, no menus whatsoever even if I clicked or pressed Alt + Ctrl +Del on my keyboard, but i could still see the movement of my mouse).

I restarted my pc and it got even worse. Not only did the Bios picture and the windows logo remained problematic, the lcd displayed "no signal" before it got into the ... Read more

Hello all,

I just installed Vista (64 bit edition) and its working well for the most part. The only problem I have is with my display. I have an Acer AL1916W monitor which is 19" widescreen and its best resolution (looks poor on all other resolutions) is 1440 x 900 (16:10). My graphics card is an ATI X1600.

Straight after installing Vista, I could easily change it to the above resolution and everything would be just fine. However, when I update the video drivers either through Windows Update or through the latest Catalyst drivers on the AMD/ATI site, it messes up the resolutions available to me and I can no longer use 1440 x 900.

As soon as I uninstall the driver I can select 1440 x 900 again. I don't understand why the driver 'deletes' that resolution.

By the way, Windows XP (32 bit) works just fine at the 1440 x 900 resolution.

Thanks in advance to anyone that can help me here. I'm tearing my hair out trying to get this working!

Cheers, Chili.

Hi!I see there are a lot of questions regarding the Radeon Video Display drivers.Anyone else experience this:After the latest patching of the Radeon video drivers last week (12th. of August) my screen turned black. If I try to reboot the display freeze after about 15 seconds - during the boot process (with the dots going around under the HP logo!) It took some time before I realized what was wrong, so I completely reinstalled the Windows 10 OS twice. So this is what happens:- I completely wipe the HD with a new Windows 10 installation.- I get a notification that the Radeon video driveres is not optimal.- And after about 20-30 minutes the screen goes black.- If I try to reboot, the machine is stuck on the HP logo with the dots going around! I did this procedure twice before I understood that nothing is actually wrong with the computer. The second time I managed to change the boot procedure so I could press F8 and push the machine into Safe boot. So now the goal is to find correct drivers, and downgrade in Safe mode. Anyone tried that? Is there a trick, maby download the drivers on another machine and bring them over using a USB stick? Kind regards,Jarle

I am a poud new owner of a new Z-book G3 Studio with the 4K screen and Quadra M1000M video. I am having difficulties with two streaming services, one is Netflix the other is Xfinity streaming.  When the workstation is running standalone with no external monitors there are no issues using the streaming services. Once I've plug in an exteternal monitor into the built in HDMI port or the display port or 15 pin connector on the HP 150 Thunderbolt docking station and extending the displays, the streaming services  only play back audio. There are no errors presented. The video is just black. It does not matter if I am using the Microsoft Store Netflix application of running it from a browser. I should mention this is true no matter which screen is the main screen.  Disconnening the montitors does not fix the issue alone. I need to disconnect the second monitor, logoff and log back in. All thread around Netflix issues point to the need to updated display drivers but I've checked an have the latest. I've also looked at setting in the Nvideo Control panel and do not see anything relevant.  I am running windows XP Professional 64bit, I7, 16GB Any help would be appreciated. Regards, Rick

Hello. I acquired this Dell Precision 390 core2duo 2.66ghz from work and it came with a Quadro FX 3500 video card. It will be running Windows 7 pro 64bit 6 gig memory. It will primarily be used for video editing using premiere pro cs5. Looking this card up, it was very expensive when it was new. Since it is only 256mb would a card like a GeForce GT 440 (Fermi) 2GB 128-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 (Zotac) perform better for video editing? Should I put a card with more memory in it. I am comparing this particular card because I don't want to spend too much money.

A:Quadro FX 3500 video card

If you are using Premier CS5(5.5) there is acceleration you can get from certain nVidia cards, here's their list:http://www.nvidia.com/object/adobe_PremiereproCS5.html
I think you can get other cards to work but you need to modify some settings in CS5, you can probably Google the method.

The FX 3500 does not support CUDA so it'd won't help. Generally video cards are too important for video editing however newer models can help accelerate tasks if the software supports it.

This is my first time posting, so sorry if this is in the wrong section, I didn't see one for a rack workstation.
I've given a description on my problems below, for anyone who'll bother helping.

A few years back, I got a refurbished Precision R5500 with dual Quadro 6000s. I noticed the driver was outdated, and updated it. Unfortunately, when I did so, the driver would crash several times a day, with no clear indication of why or when. It was several months before we figured out what driver was previously on it (266.87), and reinstalled that. It's still running mostly stable.
However, this driver downgrade caused an issue for me. I'm a gamer, and apparently, version 266.87 does not run Frostbite-based games correctly. For example, Battlefield 3 and Need for Speed The Run both have an invisible floor.
I'd pretty much given up on looking for solutions a couple years ago, but yesterday, I decided to give it another shot. I quickly found a thread on the old Dell TechCenter, which you can view here, where users had found a solution. They had updated the VBIOS to what appears to be version 70.0.6F.0.2. My current version is, so it'd make sense that if mine was updated, I'd be able to update the drivers without them crashing.
Problem is, there are no links to the update on the web; at least, not that version. The closest thing I've found is on HP's website, which you can view here, but I get the feeling that's only for HP compu... Read more

I've tried the HP update at this point, via cmd, which simply said "no adapters found that were compatible with this update." Won't do further tests with that, since I don't want to risk anything with the DOS method.
In the wake of the Dell community's help (that's sarcasm), I've been trying to contact people on the thread linked in my previous post - specifically, people who said they could send the update to those who asked for it - to see if they might still have it.

Unfortunatly the comptuer is currently in use (running a 5 hour experiment i do not wish to interup) so i cannot give you the computer hardware details. If this is required I can post later.

It is for a two monitor set up (currently running on only one). If you need any other details, please ask.

Many Thanks for your help

A:Replacement Video Card for nVIDIA Quadro 4 980xgl

Its hard to find AGP cards these days, especially Quadro cards, since all new cards are PCI-Express. What did they send you?

You may have to try eBay to find a replacement, you can still pick up the same card there: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...DIA+Quadro+4+980xgl&_sacat=See-All-Categories

I am looking to upgrade my graphics card on the H8-1214. I have noticed a lot of other people have posted about this, but I just couldn't find what I was looking for. The H8-1214 currenlty has a NVIDIA FX-1800 graphics card installed. I purchased the NVIDIA Quadro M2000 card, to replace it, but cannot get it to work. I was told by NVIDIA that the card I purchased was defective. So I purchased another one and I am having the same problem. The system boots to the HP splash screen, then it goes to a black screen with a blinking cursor. That is as far as I can get. I can't get into the BIOS with the new card installed either. I've read some info about needing a card that is/isn't UEFI compatible...I'm not really sure which one and honestly I'm not really sure what the difference is. Here is a list of all of my current hardware. It appears that this card is just not compatible, but if someone could verify, I would appreciate it. We purchased a new Samsung 34" curved monitor and the card we currently have is sluggish. If the M2000 isn't compatible, I would like a suggestion from the following video cards: Quadro K4200, or M4000. We need to stick with NVIDIA because we use Solidworks drawing software and it needs these types of video cards.  Motherboard: M3970AM-HP (Angelica) CPU: AMD FX-6100  RAM: 10GB of DDR3  Power Supply Wattage: 300 Watts Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Have a newer  Precision Tower 5810 with Nvidia Quadro K620 card.  Windows 7 Xeon Processor E5-1620.

With any video, or even slide transitions with lots of motion, there is what I would descibe as a horizontal stutter that occurs for a split second.  Its a visual disruption in the video almost as it moves.  Happens in various horizontal locations.  At first we thought it was maybe poor internet feed and streaming, but still occurs with locally run video.  Considered Quadro card, but that more than enough card for basic video.  Replaced it any way with a GeForce 1050.   Same problem, no change.  Thought it may be the AV system this project to.  But again, it happens locally on the podium monitor and when disconnected from the AV system.

All Nvidia and Dell updates and driver applied.

Throw in another PC, basic Optiplex 7010 with low to midrange video card and it works great.

What in the heck could be so computer specific about a basically higher end workstation machine with a great video card, no Intel dedicated graphics software that cant play 1920x1080 video properly?  Even though a low end machine can?

All thoughts welcome?

The quadro card is not for games or speed its for accurate depiction of CAD and 3D models.  Quadro is for Accuracy not speed.  Geforce is for speed not accuracy.
If you want to do full HD Video and Games you need a Geforce 740 to GTX 1050TI.

I'd like to know if the Quadro K620 is compatible with the M83, E92, or E93 desktops with 280W power supply.
According to NVIDIA, it only consume 45W max power.
I've been looking for documentation in Lenovo support but could not manage to find it.
Since the desktops I mentioned are already obsolete (as per our supplier), I only found using the look up parts list that it's compatible for P series workstations.
I asked this because I want to upgrade the GPU of a workstation then used the current K620 into old models.

A:ThinkCentre: Quadro compatibility (K620, K420, graphics, workstation, CAD, video photo editing)

The page for the Nvidia driver on this systems support page, lists the Quadro K420.   The K620 would have been considered  more apropos of a ThinkStation, rather than a ThinkCentre.   From a power perspective, the 45w is not a problem, since these systems can run a Gtx 750 at 60w.   And I'm confident that the K620 would work also.   Edit:  K620 is known to work in a M93p, which uses the same BIOS as E93 and M83.
Perhaps before you buy the upgraded cards, test the K620 in the older system.  Please post the results, either way, here.  Thx.

I upgraded to Vista Business on my Acer 8210 laptop a couple of weeks ago.

Since the upgrade I have had the situation a few times where the screen starts to flash and all I can do is hit the start (manual) button to shut down
as I cannot control the mouse to shut down properly.

I assume this is some sort of driver problem but the machine is
only a few weeks old so surely it must have the latest drivers.

Video card is ATI mobility Radeon X1600, Driver Ver. 8. 31. 100. 32

Should I remove and re-install the drivers (and how to ? )

Would appreciate any advice.

I just recently installed Windows 2000 Professional on my PC. I was shocked to see that the only option I have available for video is 16 colors and my monitor supports 16 million colors. I have a FPD 1530 Gateway Monitor 15-inch flat panel. I am certain that there is nothing wrong with the monitor. I downloaded the drivers from the Gateway website but when I try to install the drivers, I am always told that no drivers were found in the specified location. Any suggestions? Thanx in advance.

I've noticed that my computer has been making my videos appeare slow and choppy. Such as, in Windows Movie Maker a window pops up as soon as I open it stating: "If you experience slow performance using Movie Maker, you might need to install a driver for your video card or update your current one." It also seems that my computer games (like the Sims 3 and or 4) play really slow and choppy as well. How do I fix this? My computer is an: HP Pavilion 21-h000 Touch All-in-One Desktop PC series.  I'm not sure what year it was made. My husband bought it in 2014.

After I installed new ATI graphics drivers from omegadrivers things improved from what i could tell except the fact that everything thinks i have 16mb of video ram and i actually have 32. Is the other 16 not being utilized? How can i fix this? Should i download some graphics drivers directly from ATI? I downloaded the new google earth and it just crawls along, the minimum requierments are 32 mb of vid mem so it go me thinking if this might be causeing it or if it was because i used opengl because directx doesnt work.

A:Video Drivers Problem

Are you sure your card has 32MB? Try downloading some new drivers, and the drive uninstall tool (available on the ati site). Uninstall your card then reinstall it with the new drivers.

What are the latest drivers for my nVidia GeForce 8600GT?
I know, old card, and yes I know that as far as the nVidia Website states, it is 180.48
But when I've tried to install these drivers in XP AND Vista (Seperate OS's. Seperate Drivers) it says that my hardware is incompatable then closes.
any ideas?

A:What are my latest drivers?

Is your systems running? If so - and it's only a driver issue - update your systems at Microsoft Updates, and instead of using Express mode after validation is verified, use the custom button instead. On the left side it should show you hardware updates and drivers.

I'm not sure if this is the right section but anyways. Is there a way to check to see what my video drivers are up to date? If there is a new driver out I would like to download it, but I don't want to download one for no reason. I have two Geforce 7300's SLI'd together if that helps any.

Hi Guys,

I installed windows 7 x64 and I don't know whether I have the latest drivers. For some it is obvious eg gfx drivers but for the chipsets ( I have intel P35 desktop) it is more difficult.

I installed the "Intel? Chipset Identification Utility" for my chipset but a lot of my intel drivers from I look at the device manager have driver dates from 2006 e.g.

Intel P35 Express Chipset Processor, all the Intel ICH9 drivers...

Would this be considered up-to-date? I'm thinking these are just simple drivers etc and they wouldnt be updated too often.

I also see in Device Manager quite a few generic names like "Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller" is this meant to be the case or should i get more specialised drivers?

A:how do you know if you have the latest drivers?

The only thing you can do is go to your MB manufacturers site and see if they have windows seven 64 bit drivers for your chipset ect. And check the date on the drivers available.
