Connect TP-Link TL-WR841ND to Huawei Mobile Wifi E5776 to increase signal strength

Q: Connect TP-Link TL-WR841ND to Huawei Mobile Wifi E5776 to increase signal strength

Connect TP-Link TL-WR841ND to Huawei Mobile Wifi E5776 to increase signal strength
can someone advise how to connect TP-Link TL-WR841ND to Huawei Mobile Wifi E5776?
Huawei Mobile Wifi E5776 is a 4G LTE connection, however it does not get 4G connection in all rooms.
Hence I have kept it in a fixed location where the 4G connection is excellent.
However due to this, I cannot get receive good signal strength in all the rooms.
I have an old TP-Link TL-WR841ND and would like to know if I can use it to connect to Huawei Mobile Wifi E5776 device to receive signals from Huawei Mobile Wifi E5776 to increase signal strength to cover all rooms.
I read that I can use TP-Link TL-WR841ND as a repeater and use it, but it says to install OpenWrt and do lot of things..... I am not sure of all these things..... wud appreciate if someone can help me with this issue?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have read through a lot of threads on here and tried different fixes and so far nothing has worked.

I have disabled the ISATAP Adapter #4 as I thought that was an issue....still not working
I have deleted all of my networks and tried to reconnect....still not working.
I have tried the ipconfig/all command .... still not working.
I have checked and all drivers are up to date.
I have reset my router to make sure it wasn't an issue with that.

It either will connect with "local access only" or it will connect for maybe 15 seconds and then the connection is gone, or says it cannot connect because it is not getting an answer from my router.

When I search for a network, it shows my network with full signal strength.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 with a Dell Wireless 1395 WLAN mini-card
Running Vista 32bit.
What has changed...

I recently updated my desktop to Windows 7 (not sure if this could effect the Wifi)
Recently switched to Qwest fiber optic internet (but a tech came out and set it up, and everything was working fine until today)

I'm lost now, I am not sure what to do, and my wife needs this computer to be able to connect to Wifi so she can work from home.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

I've got a ps3 on my room, the room right above the router. The distance between the router and the ps3 is about 6-7 feet but there's a concrete floor in between. The signal on my ps3 is about 40% most of the time but i wan't my downloads to get faster so i should find some way the increase the strength of the signal, right? My router is a Linksys WRT160N with 2 internal omni-antenna's. But no socket on the back to plug in another antenna. So how can i increase the strength? I'm not able to get an internet-cable up to my room so i need to get it all wireless. Is there any easy AND CHEAP (by cheap i mean something under 50 euros/65 dollars) way to boost the signal-strength or get a repeater. (i'm dumb when it comes to networking so something really easy to install would be appreciated)

Thanks in advance!!!

I am looking for a product that perhaps does not exist. My company recently purchased for me a new Dell Latitude D830 (running Windows XP) with a built in Dell Wireless 5520 Cingular Mobile Broadband wireless connection (AT&T is our provider). I love it and can pretty much be anywhere and still log in to the internet even when on the move. The one exception is when I am sitting at my desk in my office. I am located in the center of an concrete high rise and the signal is so weak that it comes in and out all day. There are times when I can't get online for hours at a time. Is there a product I can buy that will pull in the signal from outside to my work area and that my built in wireless antenna can then pick up easily. I am imagining some sort of powerful but small stand alone antenna that can sit on my desk and enable me to have a strong connection. Thanks for all your consideration and support.

Hello Friends

I bought a connection from my ISP and they gave me a Wifi modem. My main issue is that the range of the device is only 10 Mtrs. I want to increase the range as I want my dad to use it. I know you will say that he can come in that 10 Mtr range and use it . But, the device is kept on first floor of my house and he is on ground floor and I don't want him to use stairs as he is a heart patient.

I have read about signal boosters. Are they of any use? if yes, which one should I go for? My range would be 40-50 $.

Thanks in advance.

Memento,

I use a Huawei E169 via 3 and initially it would not install. I ended up allowing the software to install from the key drive, then rebooting and allowing it to install the software again.

If I recall from installing it on Win XP, it installs the drivers, asks you to reboot then installs the software to use it.

I'm a WiFi novice trying to administer a WiFi network in a wooded campground. Needless to say, the trees and aluminum siding on the RV's create challenges getting usable signals to our campers.

The management console shows the signal strength each repeater/access point receives from every other repeater/access point. Typically a pair of units show similar signal strength between each other (with minor variation probably caused by slight differences in transmitter power and receiver sensitivity). However, sometimes certain linked units show widely different signal strength between each other. It is sometime different by a factor of 2 or 3, with the max strength unusually high and the min strength unusually low. The low signal obviously disrupts the performance of the system.

Would someone please tell me likely causes for these differences.

Thanks

Hi,

My home network is fairly basic. A D-Link DI-624 (rev C, latest firmware) "Extreme G" 802.11g wireless router with a D-Link 7.5db gain external antenna.

My previous laptops (both with built-in 802.11g adaptes) have always shown the signal strength at the full 5 Bars from any location in my home. However last week a purchased a new Toshiba Satellite A135-S4477 (Vista 32) and have noticed the signal strength never exceeds 3 Bars and often drops as low as 2 Bars. This is the case even if I set the laptop within a few feet of the antenna. I have also tried removing the router's external antenna and using the orignal but it doesn't make any difference. It's almost seems like the built-in wifi adapter is attenuating the signal. I'm not having problems with disconnects and the range is "OK" but I'm still curious to know why the signal appears so weak.

Thanks,
-Mike

So I Google Searched every possible solution and nothing really helped, I even went to the point going to the configure in Network Adapter Settings > Configure > Ticked off Allowed The Computer To Turn Off This Device To Save Power

It worked For 15 minutes or so, then the Wifi kept on dropping out, I've Restarted and Done All The Router Stuff, That Other Blogs Suggested, Still Nothing, Wifi continuously Drives me insane, now it drops to 2 bars of signal all the time.

I also did ipconfig/ flushdns and that didn't work either, though i was hoping it would, but anyway, I have port forwarded my IP so I can play Mine Craft with my cousin, but other than That, I have No idea why it just drops constantly in wifi signal all the time.

If Anybody else knows what I can do to get it staying 5/4 bars signal Strength and not drop when I'm watching Netflix or playing Mine Craft or Battlefield 4 Multi Player. Please let me know what else I can do, if they need my Wire Less info/name of it, it is

Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160

and yes it is up to date in patches and etc... it worked fine even in Windows 7 Home and Windows 8.1 Home, but as soon as I grabbed Windows 10 Home Update, it just keeps on doing this annoying bug. So Please may Some One Help me.

A:Wifi keeps on losing signal strength

What type of router are you using? Which band are you using? How far are you from the router? This may be interference from neighboring WiFi WAPs on the same channel. Download one of the free WiFi monitoring apps from the Windows Store such as WiFi Analyzer to see what your WiFi environment looks like. The pick a channel that has less interference and set your router to use that channel (rather than picking one automatically).
Post your responses to these questions, including what your WiFi environment looks like.

Hi Everyone,

I was hoping to get some advice on some WiFi issues I have been having in my flat. I have recently switched from a BT fibre connection to a standard Sky broadband connection, and since doing so have seen the WiFi signal strength drop throughout the flat.

It is a modern building so the walls are not thick and the distance over which the WiFi signal is degrading is only about 8 metres. Prior to switching providers the signal strength was fine and since switching there have been no modifications to the flat which may interfere with the signal.

I am using the router provided by Sky (model number is SR102). Having read some reviews online, this router doesn?t appear to be all that good in comparison to other ISP provided routers in terms of its wireless capabilities.

Things I have tried so far are:

Being in a flat there are lots of other WiFi networks nearby so I used a WiFi analyser (Android app called WiFi Analyzer) to determine which channel I should switch the router to; this didn?t seem to have much effect.Tried moving the router from the master socket to another telephone socket in the flat. I was unable to get an internet connection doing this.Recognising that the BT router (Homehub 3.0) provided a better signal, I have connected this to my Sky router via ethernet cable to act as a wireless access point (I think that?s what you?d call it). Unfortunately this has not had the desired effect; I can connect wirelessly to the internet through the BT... Read more

Hi.
I am not any good with networking, so I am asking here.

My WiFi router is placed at the first floor; and my entire home (two floors) was well served by it. For about a week, I was noticing that the WiFi signal strength is reducing in some rooms of the ground floor. Today I have noticed that my devices are not getting any signal in the first floor; but those are getting the signals from my neighbors properly.

Is there anything to be done from my part, or I need to call the tech from my ISP?

I know that the tech will solve the issue; but if I can do it myself with the help of my beloved fellow members, that would be cool.

Thanks a lot.

A:WiFi signal strength suddenly reduced.

it could partly be the wifi channel your router is on has now become more congested , there are apps for mobile phones that will show you the strengths of the various wifi signals , might be worth checking the signals at various points to see what channels are least used and trying to set the router channel to one of those.

Generally though , most guides point to the best positioning for a router to be at the lowest point in a property with the signal being directed upwards , perhaps with a repeater to fill in the gaps higher up.

I run Windows 8 on an Acer Aspire 5515 laptop with a Broadcom 802.11 network adapter. I have a modem about 50 ft. away from my laptop and until today my WiFi signal strength for my LAN was 5 of 5 bars and I was picking up 8 or 10 different wireless networks. Suddenly, this afternoon my signal strength has dropped to 2 of 5 bars and I only see 2 or 3 other networks.

I have made no changes to my modem, laptop or physical location of either. My room mates laptop is working normally and he has 5 bars and still sees 8 other networks. Any suggestions. If something has changed a setting somewhere on my laptop, would a system restore change help? I can't live with a weak and unstable internet connection.

I have two laptops and a phone all of which are WiFi capable. One laptop and the phone show a strong WiFi signal. The other laptop shows no signal from WiFi unless I get within a very short distance from the router, like 10 feet line of sight and even from only three feet shows only three of five bars.

I am suspecting a bad WiFi card in that one laptop; but, before I run out and buy a replacement card for that troublesome laptop, can anyone tell me if there could be a software issue that could be causing this.

The laptop has had Norton Antivirus since day one, MalwareBytes comes up clean and the compuer runs great otherwise.

Hello Tech support!,

This is my first post here so hey everyone! .

My enquiry is about a brand new Belkin N150 F6D4050ed that i bought last week.

I had to buy it because my previous Wifi Dongle just stopped working all together, it was an excellent dongle, gave me full signal strength and never cut out.

Then i bought the Belkin.. I installed the drivers, (There is no software though, unless someone can point me to some?) plugged it in, since then, i have had 2-3 bars constantly, mostly 2 bars, The router is only 8-10 Feet away from me in the next room which is seperated by a very thin wall, It cuts off all together if a body stands in front of it, such as my brother coming in to chat.

I have tried to move it around the room with no joy, All laptops and other wireless devices in the house connect to the router fine (Including downstairs in the garden even), So maybe its not setup properly? or faulty? Im not sure.

Im a gamer, so i need a stable strong connection and its impossible to stay in games with this dongle.

Any help is much appreciated! as the Belkin Troubleshooting is a bit vague and doesn't really apply to me. Thanks!

one that shows signal strength in bars: 1 to 5
other show signal strength in percentage
and third type show signal strength in dbm.

How can I compare these. For example 3bars is how many percentage or dbm?

A:Wifi reciever signal strength: bars, dbm , percentage

dbm has to do with electrical power in signals. it should remain the same. a wireless router is typically 20.

comparing bars and percentage is simple. if there are 5 bars, each is 20%. take 20 times bar amount.

I need some help with Win7 wifi. I'm trying to create an ad-hoc wifi network between my Windows 7 laptop (Toshiba c650) and my samsung wave y handset. My wifi card is atheros-AR9285. When I connect to this network from my wifi, connectivity is established, but with some problems:

[1] It takes a long time for the ad-hoc network to show in the network-and-sharing centre.

[2] The signal strength is most of the time weak with just one bar visible (though my handset sits just besides my laptop. Do you think it could be conflicting with my neighbour's access-point with much higher signal strength?)

[3] The handset is assigned an IP in the range of 169.254.*, but when I ping this address from DOS, I get the error "PING: transmit failed. General failure.". I even tried to assign a static IP to my handset, but when connected, it automatically changes to 169.254.* range. What could be the issue here ?

Have you tried using the connectify software for this?

Your Hotspot, Your Way - Connectify

It should work with any Windows 7 certified driver to create a secondary access point from your machine. It uses the Microsoft Virtual WiFi miniport adaptor for this which should install with your Windows 7 certified wireless driver. Alienware X-51
Win 7 Home Premium SP1
Thompson TG585 v8 Modem /WPA2-PSK

Scope of Problem:
This is a Desktop LOADING based problem.
NOT a connection dropping, fading while in use problem.
Other Devices work fine.
Same problem with previous Modem.

Problem:
Wireless icon shows spinning busy symbol.
If it connects fine, then it will Remain fine until the next Restart

If connect fails then yellow exclamation mark shows over TaskBar Icon.
Viewing connection it shows as Limited Access, but signal strength is 5 Bars
A Manual Disconnect, then reConnect will always establish a working connection (sometimes needs two attempts).

Signal Strength is ALWAYS Excellent, No other devices have issues with WiFi.

This is a persistent and long term problem which has "survived" improved Modem placement , ISP directed settings changes, and a new Modem.

[ Other threads all seem to be about No Connection OR Dropping/Fading/Poor Connection. This isn't ].

A:WiFi Limited Access, Signal Strength Excellent, works if I reconnect

Modem was the problem.

Recently the Thomson V8 was replaced with a telco provided Huawei HG630B.
The issue disappeared instantly, there is now just a little lag and then connection.

So problem solved.

I have been trying to figure this out since Sunday. I cannot for the sake of humanity get my internet on my MacBook to work! It's slowly killing me inside. I have a Netgear WPN824 router that I just bought on Saturday. It works fine on my HP pc, just not on my mac. I have full signal strength on the mac, but whenever I attempt to go online, an "Address Not Found" page displays. The only way I can get internet on the mac is by connecting the mac to the router through an ethernet cord. I have been reading that some Netgear products may not be compatiable with Macs even though a tech support (who could not help me at all) assured me all their products worked well with Macs.

I've unplugged the router and modem and replugged them, nothing. I've even attempted to manually put the IP addresses into the mac, still nothing.

I've decided that if you guys can't help me, I will just have to return the router and get a different one.

I have some screenshots of my problem.
http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/8289/picture2uy1.jpg
http://img172.imageshack.us/img172/5138/picture1ry4.jpg

As you can see, my mac cannot detect the IP address of the router. I don't know how to fix that.

My Winbook U100 will not connect to my wireless network even though I just returned from a trip where it connected to other networks with no extra effort on my part. When I left two weeks ago, it connect fine. The card is an 802.11bgn 1T2R Mini Card. I am running Windows XP Home and have 2GB ram and 160 GB hard drive. The card keeps trying to connect my network stating 54Mps and Excellent signal strength; however, the View Available Wireless Networks does not show any networks in range. The netbook is sitting within three feet of the modem and router. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this madding situation?

Hi guys
I have already seen many threads with the same problem but none of the solutions worked for me.
I am unable to connect to my router (Beetel 450TC1) via wireless network. Even if I enter an incorrect security key, no authentication error is displayed. The wired connection works flawlessly and I can access router admin panel through wired connection. Things I have tried:
1) Called up the ISP customer care
They upgraded the router firmware, did a hard reset and did all settings remotely. This did not fix the problem and the executive reported that I have a faulty hardware. I think my hardware is fine because the same problem exists with other smartphone devices and I can connect to college WiFi easily.
2) Changed wireless security authentication and SSID.
3) Tried a manual hard reset and firmware downgrade (same problem persists with downgraded firmware) and again upgrade.
4) Tried different operating systems (Windows 8, Windows 7, Ubuntu 12.04). Same problem exists with each of them.

I think the problem lies with my WiFi router because the ISP executive did all required settings remotely.

I work part time as a security guard stationed in a security booth. I have a laptop, and would like to be able to pick up a Wifi signal in the booth.

The booth is across the road and about a hundred yards from my brother's house.

He has a Linksys Wireless rounter. Not sure what model, but blue with a couple of antennas on it.

He has told me that I could use his wifi signal in my security booth if I could somehow get it on my laptop.
Currently, I cannot detect his wireless network from my security booth, although I do have a clear view of his house. His router is in the back of his house from where my security booth is, and the house and secuirty booth are around a hundred yards away from each other. But I cannot get the signal.

I would be willing to purchase whatever equipment that I needed to be able to get the signal. I have heard that linksys makes an expander that will amplify the signal. Could I perhaps use that some way with the router in his house, and then get some kind of super antenna for my laptop? I would even be willing to buy him another router if this wouild do it.

What would be the best way to approach this problem, and any equipment suggestions would be welcome.

thanks,
Ron

I'm trying to configure mine as a wireless repeater, but to no avail. Here's what I've done so far:
disabled WPS
changed my router's IP to 192.168.0.2 (because the source router's IP is 192.168.0.1)
rebooted the router
enabled WDS, found the network I want to repeat using the Survey feature, then filled in the WPA2 password.
enabled WPA2 security on my own repeated network, using the same authentication type and password as the original
rebooted the router

My router complains that "WAN port is unplugged", and it doesn't get a WAN IP or incoming packets, which probably means it's expecting the internet signal to come from the WAN port rather than the wireless network I set up, right? How can I force the router to connect to the network?

Also, should both routers be in the same subnet? I've tried with different subnets but nothing changes.

The source router is a D-Link DIR-600 if that helps at all.

I am trying to connect two wireless routers in order to extend the range of my wifi signal. Preferably they would be connected wirelessly.

The models are the Virgin Superhub (VMDG480) - which has the internet access - and the Netgear Wireless-G Router WGR614 v9 - which is intended for use as a repeater.

Firstly, is this possible, given that the Netgear model doesn't support client mode or bridging?

Secondly, if this is possible could anyone help me configure these routers? I know about having them on seperate channels and different IP addresses but that is about all I know.

Cheers

Hello everyone, and as my title states I would like to try to change my wifi to a 5Ghz signal. I would like to try this because of all the interference from everyone in my small situated neighborhood where my levels of interference on the top floor of my complex get litterally 20+ signals from every house in the neighborhood. By using my handy dandy inSSIDer program I have determined that every single one of these wifi signals are 2.4 Ghz, and therefore I believe that by changing my wifi to a 5Ghz channel I can avoid some of this unwanted interference. If you believe differently please do tell why. Any who, my service provider is Century Link and I know how to access my router and mess with its settings if necessary, however I was wondering if maybe I needed to do something else? Any advice/insight is greatly valued.

A:Solved: Trying to change my Century Link wifi to broadcast a 5Ghz signal

What kind of modem are you using? Actiontec C1000A?

What devices are you planning on connecting to it? Note not every modem and devices support the 5GHz band. Your best solution would be to change channels to 1, 6 or 11 for less interference experience. There's quite a few AP here but it doesn't affect my connection at all. Hardly experience any interference.

Not a good idea to put your email address in posts unless you enjoy bots sending you all kind of spam email.

What you are trying to do is called Tethering. Most cell phone providers do have this option but I believe technically you have to pay for it. There are hacks around it though. I know how to do it on my Palm not sure about windows mobile.
I would google search for: htc touch tethering
You will get lots of hits.

I found this other thread - http://forums.techguy.org/networking/1001732-solved-laptop-will-not-connect.html. I tried the options. Please keep in mind that I am a complete beginner. Half of what I read I didn't get - but I went to HP and downloaded changes to the driver as directed. I still show the timeout issues. When I am tethered to the T-Mobile hotspot I have internet. On my main computer I have Windows 2007 and no issues with connecting via wifi. I called TMobile. They said it is a driver issue. I don't want to shell out $$ for a new computer or updated driver. In beginner terms can you help me out here? Thanks.

Honestly this has bee annoying me for a very long time. I have unreliable home internet but with Windows 8 connecting to my phone is always a chore.

1. there is no option to refresh wifi networks. I'm sure it does this automatically, but there really needs to be a way to do this manually. I'm aware that this can't really be changed so lets move on.

2. "Connect to hidden network" option sometimes disappears. I don't know where it goes or why, but it goes away when I need it most.

3. Windows 8 cannot see my phone's Wifi hotspot. Once in a blue moon it will see and it will connect fine if I use "Connect to hidden network" but in order to connect again I have to go through "connect to hidden network" EVERY TIME, causing me to have multiple listings for my hotspot.

The first two are major pains, but most importantly how the hell do i fix #3? Asus book flip TP500LN and Blackberry Z30.

A:Cannot connect to mobile Hotspot, wifi options limited

My first thought is something with the phone. My Android phone connects fine and computer sees it as soon as I turn hotspot on. Have you tried phone with a different computer and/or OS?

T-Mobile's tech support can't seem to figure out my problem so I'm hoping someone here can help.

I just purchased a T-Mobile hotspot (ZTE) yesterday. It can connect to the T-Mobile network and appears to be working fine. My Wii can connect wirelessly to the the hotspot, but my laptop can only connect to the internet through the USB cord (which it's really not supposed to, because that's supposed to be for charging the device). When I try to connect via wifi to my hotspot, my computer can detect the network. However, after I immediately enter my password, it says that it cannot connect. When I click "Diagnose the problem" it says there was a timeout.

I have Windows Vista and one of the tech support people mentioned that Windows Vista sometimes has problems connecting with handshake devices (but he didn't know how to fix it). Another person said I should have about 20 seconds to type in my password, so it shouldn't be timing out so quickly. Is it something with my computer? I have a Compaq Presario CQ60. I had this same problem when I tried to connect to a friend's hotspot a couple weeks ago (I don't remember if it was also T-Mobile or another provider, though).

Thanks

hallo,

question is in three parts. Win 7 Home Premium

1. used to have orange mobile broadband wi-fi but was not a good deal so i stopped it. The software stayed on my laptop.

I now signed up for Huawei mobile connect - 3G. On connecting dongle to laptop's USB, nothing happened( I was expecting an 'installing Huawei' window, etc). The dongle works as i can connect to the internet but on looking into it, the dongle connects via the previous Orange software - see two .jpg files. What does this mean? It is inconvenient as i cannot see how much up/download i have used, there does not a[ppear to be any Huawei software to give me any information. should i remove the Orange via Add/Remove Programs and start again with the Huawei dongle?

2. On looking at the security tab in Properties for Orange, am not happy with the CHAP and MS-CHAPv2. see jpg. Can i uncheck them without losing connectivity performance?

3. Still in Properties, Networking tab, dont like the file and printer sharing and client for Ms networks boxes either, just want the TCP/IP version4 box ticked.see jpg.Would i be right in having just IP4 checked?
As you can gather i dont have much of a clue about what is going on.

Ideas appreciated.

Karaman
