Can't Download TeamViewer

Q: Can't Download TeamViewer

I have a windows 10 Lenovo. I tried to download the free version of Teamviewer 14 for personal use, and I can't download it no matter what site I visit? Every attempt I make I'm sent to Microsoft store, 14 day free trial or step two (buy it)?

Preferred Solution: Can't Download TeamViewer

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Can't Download TeamViewer

It may be the version of Windows 10 that you have.

In the search bar type winver and press enter. It should give you an About Windows box. Does it show Windows in S mode?

You can also type sysinfo instead and the first line in the System Information box should show this also.

I live in Arkansas and my mom lives in Massachusetts.  Quite often she needs a little computer help.  Most of the time I either try to help her over the phone or I just mess with it while I'm visiting.  She just got a new computer and is having some trouble.  I am much better at figuring things out looking at them myself than just trying to go off of email descriptions.  Easiest way will be for me to have control over her computer.  I know you can use team viewer and I've also heard about remote assistance.  I'm trying to figure out what will be the best, easiest, and/or safest way for me to do this.  I want to be able to open and close things, download, etc.
One other thing to keep in mind is... she has a windows 8 machine, I have windows 7.  I don't know if that limits the options.
Just looking for a few thoughts on the matter.  Thanks.

Any tips really appreciated.

I have used teamviewer in the past without issue. This time, however I am using the teamviewer "app" on iphone to connect to home PC. I installed teamviewer at home, on my windows 7 machine. When it finished, I took a pick of the user ID and password on the righthand side. So I downloaded the app software. I place in, the correct user ID. I then placed in, the correct password. I get this message "the password you have entered is invalid, please try again". Any idea what am I doing wrong? I would have thought, when I attempted connecting to my home pc, that a password would have been generated, but not the case. The ID and PW were already present, after installation. Weird....DM

A:teamviewer

Teamviewer has two different modes, the standard two user help system where the user requiring assistance informs the helper of the password and then the systems are connected. This is the password that you are seeing. and it is set by default to expect the connection to be confirmed by the user requiring assistance.

What you need to set up is unattended access which is designed for use with headless devices such as servers in the latest release and using the new Beta User Interface, on the system you wish to access click on the Hamburger button and the second item there allows you to set-up unattended access, just follow the prompts and set the password - the one you will enter when prompted when connected. I would also stromngly advise that you set Teamviewer to start with windows and also consider setting up Wake-on-Lan options to ensure your access runs smoothly. Other important advanced settings include allowing login access for admin users so you can remotely re-boot systems

TeamViewer Installation & a few useful features

This is one of my favorite programs for remote connection to other computers
across the internet.

Download the Free personal / non-commercial version.

http://www.teamviewer.com/index.aspx

Setup is easy and straight forward.

You can install it to your HD for repeated use or run it for a once only use.

I installed it as personal / non-commercial use.

Put check marks in the two License Agreement boxes to continue.

I used the Normal (default) installation as you can change the advanced options later.

It is best to install with full access if you want somebody to help work on your computer
or you want to set up yours for remote access from another location.

Then the basic installation is finished.

Now you can test it with another TeamViewer user or another remote computer you have set up.

The Connection screen will show you two panels when connected to the internet. The left side panel
shows your waiting for session ID ( usually a 9 digit code ) and a password code. These are what you
provide to your connection partner to allow them to access YOUR computer. A new password code will be
generated each time you end Team Viewer & exit it, & then run it again. This is for security purposes.

The right side panel is for you to connect to a partner's computer. They provide you with their ID &
password codes for easy connection.

I am having lots of trouble with using TeamViewer. Because every time I want to connect to another computer it says that a connection cannot be established! Why does it says this for? I mean it doesn't connect to any computer at all, no matter what I do! Does this mean that I have to open up a port number on my router for this? I believe that the port number for outgoing connections is 5938. So I know that already. But all I want to know is on how to connect to any computer to see on how it works, because I have not yet connected to any computer at all! So please explain this to me step-by-step.

Because I would appreciate that very much from you. And also, what I don't like about TeamViewer is that you have to have your partner have TeamViewer also. And you also need his ID and password, which I think is really annoying to me and it's quite a pain in the butt too. But what I really wanted to know from you if there is a certain hacking program that I can download that shows out all the ID's and passwords of any person that I want to connect to. Is this even possible? Because I really think that TeamViewer should not have to enter the partner's id or password.

Because this is really annoying for me and some other people too. Well anyway, please get back to me as soon as you can, and let me know on what I can do about this awful situation that I am in. And also let me know on what port number I should open up, if it's possible. And also let me know on where I can fin... Read more

A:I need some help on how to use TeamViewer

Jordan, Teamviewer is useful when you want to help someone or receive help from someone remotely. You both need to have a copy of the program and a working internet connection to establish a connection. The party receiving help can download Teamviewer's Quick Support version of the program, which requires no installation. The user ID and password need to be supplied to the helper by the person getting help. There isn't much more to it than that.

Since I can't determine your intent by your post and because you're asking for hacking info or a way to find other user's IDs & passwords, I'm going to lock this thread. The forum has rules regarding the above.... Must use computer for good, not evil!

Since there is not TeamViewer forum that I can find I am asking my question here since it seems to be related to Windows 7.

I can use TeamViewer to connect to a laptop from a Windows XP Pro machine and even a Ubuntu 10.04 machine, but after installing it on Windows 7, it will not connect to the laptop which has Windows XP on it. The connection always fails even though I shutdown both firewalls just in case. The error is "You are blacklisted or not whitelisted by this partner". I am at a loss as to why this is failing. Anyone know anything about this application and might be able to help get it working. Oh, I am using the free version of TeamViewer.

Has anyone used Teamviewer? Recently, a friend on mine was having problems with her wifi connection and when I tried to help her fix this problem over the phone, the issue wasn't resolved after I guided her through a few network settings. When I went over to her place to take a look at her PC I was able to fix it by accessing her wifi settings, removing her connection and then searching for networks again. This refreshed her network and I was then able to connect. I had asked her to do this and she thought that she did. It might have been miscommunication on my part, but I'm wondering if a program like Teamviewer would be useful for situations like these where it would be quicker for me to remotely have a look at her PC instead of guiding her through a bunch of settings over the phone.I know that this can be done through Windows but I think this might be more user friendly. Any thoughts about this program?

I use it regularly to connect to my Father's computer. I installed the full package on both computers (still using Teamviewer 5) and can do anything pretty much on his computer.

New features:

Open multiple connections in different tabs

Open multiple remote sessions in tabs, just like in your browser. For an optimal overview, you can also open all the monitors belonging to a remote computer in separate tabs. You won't miss a thing because opened tabs will always flash when new activity occurs on the remote computer, e.g. a new chat message from a customer.

Wake-on-LAN with TeamViewer

Do you want to ensure 24/7 access to your computer without having to leave it running all the time? With the new Wake-on-LAN feature, you can now wake up your computer remotely whenever you need access. The wake feature simply works via another computer using TeamViewer within the local network or via a router.

Protect your TeamViewer account with two factor authentication

Protect your TeamViewer account against unauthorized access with two factor authentication, just in case your password happens to land in the wrong hands. With an established authentication app (e.g. Google Authenticator), you can simply generate a security code with your smartphone. Both the code and the password are requested during login. With this two factor authentication, TeamViewer helps you meet HIPAA and PCI DSS requirements, among others.

Hi all,

I am using TeamViewer to remotely control a netbook laptop that has a low resolution display (1024x600). This is kind of problematic for a lot of websites and software these days.

Since the display is closed, there's no reason why the resolution should max out at the native resolution of the PC.

Are there any workarounds for making the PC have a "virtual display" or does TeamViewer have a way to shut off the internal display, treat remote as a monitor, and revert when disconnected?

Open to alternatives besides TeamViewer, but they need to be free.

Netbook is running Windows 7 Home Premium, so I don't think Remote Desktop Connection is an option.

Thanks!

Hello,

This is the idea:
Laptop>Internet>TeamViewer VPN>Internet>Remote Host>Device

I have software to connect to a device (PLC) on my local machine, the license is very expensive. I have a commercial license for TeamViewer, and I have the VPN installed. Since a VPN can not be installed locally on the device, I have a computer connected to the device over Ethernet. I am trying to connect my software through the remote host computer into the device. I am able to ping the device locally from the remote host. Then I am establishing a connection over the TeamViewer VPN. Now is where I am stuck, I have added a route from the vpn to the device subnet
[route add (IP of device subnet) mask 255.255.255.0 (IP of Remote host) metric 1]
And I can ping the remote host internal IP from the TeamViewer VPN IP, the same connection that can ping the device, but I can't ping the device itself. I have tried every combination of sharing connections and making bridges that I can. any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Many claim were using good passwords, implying a possible breach of TV account user password database....

For those that use this, I'd empty your account password database and remove the service from assorted systems until this is ironed out!

On top of a possible database breach, there is also a fake adobe flash update containing a hostile teamviewer patch/payload piece of malware out there as well....BEWARE!

Hope to get expert opinion here ...

I am in South Africa, and have an ASUS Win 8.1 64-bit laptop.
My 93-year-old Father is in the UK and has a HP laptop running Win 8.1 64-bit

He uses his laptop mainly for e-mail, and creating MS Word documents, and web browsing, and Skype

I'm on Skype with him almost daily, and every day he has a new problem that he expects me to solve, but his very limited knowledge of PC settings, and PC maintenance, together with his lack of ability to properly define the issues he has with his laptop, and to explain to me exactly what problems he experiences, frustrates both of us.

I'm going to suggest he downloads & installs a program like LogMeIn (or perhaps some other equivalent), so that I will be able to remotely take control of of his laptop, and perform the simple maintenance tasks such as:

setting up file associationsChecking that he has latest OS & program updatesOS & System maintenanceetc. etc.

Now for my main concern ... here in South Africa, data is slow, and expensive! I only have a 4 Mbps ADSL line, which is the max our exchange supports, and I have a 20GB per month capped data allowance. I usually achieve DL speeds of around 3 Mbps for download, and uploads of only 0.4 Mbps

So, to my questions ...

If (and it's a big IF) I can coach him into downloading and properly installing software such as LogMeIn or Teamviewer or equivalent ...
Whose data allowance will be used if I find he needs many apps / programs updated or... Read more

Now that Teamviewer has been hacked and they refuse to admit it, both publicly and on the phone, I'm trying to decide what to use next. I liked Teamviewer for the past 3 years, using a commercial license with Version 8 and they offered decent American support. In the past I had commercial licenses for GoToAssist and LogMeIn but both were very buggy when it came to unattended access. Someone in another forum mentioned InstantHousecall, and I tested it but still I'm a little gun shy now when it comes to the security of my company and our clients for managed services. The one problem with 7.0x is it isnt backward compatible with switching sides in earlier versions of TV.

So for example if I am running 7.x and fixing a machine on OP who has 6.x I cant switch ends to show them how to do it on my desk top.

The work around (for the time being) is to run both

Ok TeamViewer for windows has an VPN option as well. Sometimes I dont need remote desktop but just to use the home PC as a VPN server so my laptop (mac) traffic is safe when accessing from open wifis.
The thing is it doesnt seem the mac version of TeamViewer to support the VPN goodie.
Well since I have it on windows, is there a way to set it up there as just server and then use other (os x) VPN client to connect to it?

I cant find much info about the TW VPN online, so i have no idea how to setup something like that even on the windows side and if it's possible at all to connect from non-TW client?

Additional Improved and New Functions:
Optimized performance: TeamViewer connections are now even faster and more stable - particularly to and between company networks.

More user-friendly design: Navigate even faster and more easily! The new clear division between the remote maintenance and presentation modes is more user-friendly and convincing with its refreshing design.

Automatic: Now, TeamViewer re-establishes the connection automatically after a remote reboot or an update.

New language version: TeamViewer is now also available in Chinese. Overall, TeamViewer is now available in 19 languages. Additional language versions will follow.

More secure: You can protect the TeamViewer options with a password.

...and much more...

you can still take control of machines running older versions, so there's no need for all your friends/clients/relatives to update their software.

i'm a unreformed service tweaker, and i noticed that it installs a teamviewer service, which runs automatically by default. i first set it to manual, and the software still seemed to work fine without the service even starting itself manually. so i disabled it completely, and everything still seems to work ok. i'm actually posting this through a remote session with the service disabled at both ends. maybe it's only needed for vpn or something else that i don't use?

Now that Teamviewer has been hacked and they refuse to admit it, both publicly and on the phone, I'm trying to decide what to use next. I liked Teamviewer for the past 3 years, using a commercial license with Version 8 and they offered decent American support. In the past I had commercial licenses for GoToAssist and LogMeIn but both were very buggy when it came to unattended access. Someone in another forum mentioned InstantHousecall, and I tested it but still I'm a little gun shy now when it comes to the security of my company and our clients for managed services. Can anyone else please weigh in on this? Thanks!

I think I may have set up Teamviewer wrong on my in-laws computer. I chose the free and personal use option during the install, but every time I connect to their computer, I get a message about how customized modules are only a feature of the paid version, so I'm limited to 5 minutes at a time. Then, after 5 minutes, I'm disconnected, and I have to wait a while before I am able to connect again.

So, what gives? I am almost certain I used the host only instructions for their system.

A:Teamviewer Issue

Maybe you have downloaded MSI installer, which is for corporate use only, who knows.
Within those 5 mins, download and setup portable temporarily, then reinstall TeamViewer.

I use Teamviewer off and on. Today I decided to update the app and use it.
Everything was going fine between the two machines (on the same network) until the session upbruptly ended after 9 minutes and 25 seconds. I have never had that happen to me before!!!
I used to be able to connect for hours with my old laptop to my newer, faster desktop to run Dynamips. Sometimes I would use it at school (college).

I use the free version. The remote PC has newest version of Teamviewer installed, the other was running the portable version. Are there now time restrictions, or did the connection just fail? Niether machine lost internet. Both machines run 7 Ultimate x64 (both wireless).

I have Comcast business class here at my private office. Could that be the trouble?

Hello. I am currently into my Fathers pc, via latest release teamviewer. I am trying to type his email password, in order to "re" download skype (as he can not remember his p/w. Nevertheless, when I type the "@" symbol, it comes up as " and the "#" comes up as some other symbol, that is not even on the keyboard. All other symbols work normally, when I command them to my Dads pc.
I've tried (I think) every possibility, including looking at his keyboard configuration, (mine is normal) and it is set properly. Uh, wut gives? This is driving me crazy....

Any language packs on either? Are both the same language and local setup? Both win 7?

Sounds like a keyboard driver issue but cant you just snip his address off of one of his emails and paste it into the field?

Long story short, i have some things that run all day long, and i have notifications that go directly to my phone. I had started up teamviewer from my phone just to double check that my programs were running *approx 6:30am* because the last couple days they have been shutting off after i left for work. After closing teamviewer i got back to work and hadn't seen any notifications on my phone since about 8:41am. Lunch time i tried to open up teamviewer and it was a no go. Got home and windows was at the login screen and when i logged it of course "windows recovered from an unexpected shut down".

Now, this wouldn't be a massive issue if it weren't for the fact that the last week *a side from yesterday and today* when i would shut my comp down, i would go to login and it would lock up. do a hard restart and it would be fine. For some reason i have a feeling this BSOD happened do to what ever has been causing the failure to login.

so some basic info...
windows 7 ultimate 64bit
fx-4170 cpu, not overclocked
12 gigs G.Skill ram *2x 4gig 2x 2gig *i know havent had the money to get a full 4 channel set yet**
asus nvidia geforce gtx 550 ti gfx card

any/all help would be greatly appreciated.
all necessary files should be attached
let me know if any other information is needed

thanks in advance.

sorry if this is a bit jumbled...

TeamViewer is a remote desktop connection software that allows users to share screens and allow remote access from anywhere in the world. In the past 24 hours, many customers have claimed their computers were maliciously accessed by hackers. Hackers are accessing the computers late at night, out of standard USA working hours, and accessing bank accounts using saved browser passwords, or installing forms of ransomware. As of 12 p.m. Wednesday, the TeamViewer website remains offline, with their Twitter being the only form of comment so far from the company.

A:Teamviewer Accounts Hacked

Yesterday I was using TeamViewer to remotely access customer's computer when it suddenly stopped working.

Reddit is full of complaints.

Check your TeamViewer logs for this file: webbrowserpassview.exe

You can find them on this location:

If you find signs of it, change your passwords immediately.

Hi, just now someone used teamviewer to gain access to my computer and immediately turned off my monitor. I could see my mouse move to a dialog box before my screen went black. I immediately shut off my computer and checked the teamviewer logs right after. Can someone inspect the logs for me? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

A:Suspicious Teamviewer logs

Hi,

Welcome here at BleepingComputer.com. I am Black_Bird and I'll be helping you with your questions & problems.

About the logfiles: I don't see any special things in it, that would worry me. But on the other side you can't actually see in those logs what has been visited (through a browser) or which files have been transferred eventually.

Why did you allow such a connection anyway, when you don't trust the other person? It can't "just" happen, as he has to know an ID & password, which you gave him/her. Can you explain this please?

I also advice you to follow up all steps given in this topic: Preparation Guide For Use Before Using Malware Removal Tools and Requesting Help. Please post all logfiles and a detailed description of all PC problems you've eventually got in your next reply.

A customer of mine have just had someone pull this on them. Someone called her and said there is something wrong with your computer and we need to check it. (She is an oldie with no real knowledge of computer security).

She was told to switch on her machine and walked through how to download Teamviewer. Once they were in, with her permission, they could do what they liked. Luckily she does not do any e-banking. She does however use her card to do e-shopping.

When she was asked to pay for the service over a 'secure line' she did smell a rat and told them to get off her machine. However, they could have left a keystroke trojan in her machine. I have told her to switch her machine off and not use it until I can get there tomorrow to check everything out.

Please take note there are a lot of people out there ready to scam anybody - especially the vulnerable.
