"Write Conflict" Error Msg--Timestamp?

Q: "Write Conflict" Error Msg--Timestamp?

I keep getting this "write conflict" error message after updating a table through vba. From doing some research it seems that the solution to my problem is to add a timestamp column to my table. I understand that it is not actually a time/date field and can't figure out how to add it. Any help would be much appreciated.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Good day all,

I have a form that contains a number of Tabbed Pages.

Each page holds several controls and, as part of an "Edit Client Record" feature, I am able to move round parts of my form and modify fields where I need to.

When satisfied with my changes, I perform an "OK" click which, using code as on_click event, I am performing two SQL tasks.

One task updates a mastertable based on the fields in the form. The second updates other fields in a second table.

All goes well until I close the form whereupon I get the nsaty "Write Conflict" Message with three options, "Save Record", "Copy to Clipboard" and "Drop Changes".

Inspecting the result of the SQLs, I know the updates have taken place successfully, I don't actually need to save te from as it now stands. How can I stop this Write Conlift message arrearing?

Here's my code (with some of the waffle taken out)

Hey 7-Forums!

I have my music library, a 20GB folder on my hard-drive, containing a few thousand mp3s.
I use iTunes to play them, and I've always sorted them (inside iTunes) using the "Date Modified" property.

As a result of this sorting order, say,
if I found out an old song had the wrong name, or simply missing a capital letter and
corrected this, the song would move up to the top of my iTunes library because it is now the "newest".

This bothered me, so I decided to change the "Date Modified" of all my mp3s back to the original date:
the same as the "Date Created" of the file, using ATTRIBUTE CHANGER 7.
Unfortunately, I did not pay attention to what I was doing with the Attribute Changer and instead of changing the "Date Modified", I accidentally reset the "Date Created" of all the files to now.

This means that all timestamps were reset and my organized library is now f*cked.

Does anyone know how to undo timestamp changes??

A:Restoring "Date Created" timestamp after accidentally changing it.

Dear Tech Support Forum Staff and or Members,

Since my original thread: http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f10/concerned-about-a-delayed-write-failed-error-673492.html
is now a little old, I don't want to run the risk of bumping it unnecessarily. Since the original posting of this thread, my computer has had at least 3 more Delayed Write Failed errors, and I'm starting to wonder why. I know that people had mentioned possible problems with loose cords, or maybe even my power supply, but I don't know how to go about looking for "which cords are which". Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Okay, so it's 2AM in the morning, I get Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware on my computer and remove Trojan.Vundo.H...okay, it removes it... YAY!!! I'm soooo excited! Then after I reboot my computer to finalize the changes it freezes up and it will not even move the mouse pointer...I do what I usually do and unplug the computer. And when I rebooted it (again) it starts running chkdsk.exe (apparantly "Volume is dirty")...THEN THAT FREEZES UP!!! So, I unplugged my computer again. And reboot it (AGAIN) and it ran chkdsk.exe and...IT WORKED!!! Then, I to uninstall some programs and some of the programs (while they were getting uninstalled) made XP bring up the Delayed Write Failed error message. While some other programs didn't do that...okay so I restart my computer. It didn't run chkdsk.exe but when I tried to defragment my hard drive...another "Delayed write failed" error pops up... it seems to be in one folder though...something to do with "S" and "restore" which I know is system restore... oh please tell me I don't have to get a new hard drive...I have lots of important data on my computer...and I lost the dell restoration CDs... Is there any way I can work around this????

I keep getting the error message "Windows - Delayed Write Failed : Windows was unable to save all the data for the file D:\$Mft. The data has been lost. This error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware or network connection. Please try to save this file elsewhere."

I'm not sure if the error is D:\$Mft or C:\$Mft I'll post once the error appears again. The message appears at random times, usually when the comp's idle. The computer acts totally normal after the error message occurs. I've recently jumped from 1 GB of RAM to 2 GB of RAM and I've also upgraded my boot drive from a 250GB IDE hard drive to a 250 Western Digital SATA Drive.

What is this and what can I do to stop it?

Any tips or suggestions are much appreciated,

it started with a delayed write failed error message, then many many delay write failed error messages. now my comp freezes when it idles and i have to do a manual shut down, which screws up more stuff. at this point, im considering shutting down my computer every time i am going to be away from it for more than 20-30 minutes. there are many problems, but i figure it would be smartest to start from the beginning: the delay write fail.

what do you guys know about this error? and what can be done to fix it and prevent it from occurring again? im thinking it could be related with the secondary hard drive that i added. if it is that, does it just mean i need to get a new hard drive and the one i have is completely useless? thanks, ive tried so many things and im getting desperate. hopefully someone here can help.

Dear Tech Support Forum Staff and or Members,

D:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Assassin's Creed\Detection

D:\Program Files\Steam\resource
D:\Program Files

The whole message was: "Windows was unable to save all the data for the file (one of those locations above). The data has been lost. This error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware or network connection. Please try to save this file elsewhere."

OK... I'm hoping someone can help me out here as its getting more than a little frustrating...

I bought a Lacie Big Disk 500GB USB2 Hard Drive a short time ago... I use it as a mass storage device, and freed up 500GB of space across 2 internal HDs used as an archive on my desktop PC...

The drive has been working flawlessly with my desktop PC... it scans through all the folders once detected and then it can be browsed like any other HD... however, the issue has arisen when I have tried to use this same drive with my laptop... the laptop is newly purchased, and is a HP Pavilion dv5000... it comes with an AMD Turion 64 CPU, 512MB RAM, 100GB Hard Drive and 128MB ATI Radeon Express 200M graphics card running fully updated Windows XP Home Edition SP2..

Whenever the drive is connected to my laptop it starts to run through the files as it does with the desktop... however at a random point in doing so it will simply stop on a certain folder and the system returns a Windows Delayed Write Error to me... sometimes it quotes the E:\$MFT path and other times it quotes the folder instead, but either way I am left with a drive that is only partly read, and whilst the top level of file structure is maintained the other folders which have not been read are returned as 0bytes... if I connect the drive to my desktop again however, all is fine...

I've researched a little into this via google but to no real avail... one solution suggested turning off 'Enable Write Caching'... Read more

You should know that x.x.2.1 is incorrect. For the router address shown, all devices that connect to it *must* be 192.168.3.x where x > 1 and < 255.

I would suspect that you have some static configuration data in the devices.

You want your router to offer DHCP in the range 2->32 (that's more than enough) and
you want all systems to use DHCP for the IP address and DNS settings.

Hello everyone.. I know my title doesn't say much but I had no idea how else to describe it.. But is exactly what I mean to say... IE8 since I downloaded it, will not let me fill out any online forms (craigslist, forum registration forms, do a search on the search box of any engine, etc etc etc). Is like typing on an image, the whole thing becomes ghosted practically and impossible to write anything.

First of all, I run Microsoft XP and I am an anti IE , I never use that browser as I only use FF. But I was told by tech (online) to upgrade the IE even if I never use it as it needs to be upgraded regularly for protection... So I did.
But since then, I have had all the problems mentioned above and more..
So why if I use FF browser do I care about IE8's problem?
Because it tells me that something is wrong in my system, also because it takes up a gazillion space on my system (I was told) and thirdly, because every WYSIWYG Html editor under the sun is IE based which means that I can not do anything on any of my HTML programs because is as if I was on IE trying to write but it won't let me... All my HTML editors FROZE and none will even open. (yes, there's a connection between IE8 problem and this, I have tested numerous times)

Everything else is fine, my computer is great... I've done Malwarebytes scan and found nothing, I've done several other scans with other AV's and found nothing... The IE I had previously (IE7) was working fine..

You can try doing a repair or system file check...
Scan For Missing/Corrupt System Files...

Windows XP comes with a wonderful tool called System File Checker (SFC)
Itscans and verifies the versions of all protected system files after you restart your computer...
To Do This:
Click Start menu, and then click the Run icon.
In the small box that Opens, type the three letters: cmd then click the OK button.
In the command prompt window that just opened (a black background and white text), type the following command:
SFC /scannow
And then click OK
You must be logged on as a member of the Administrators group to run SFC..
You will need your Windows XP CD during this procedure if SFC needs to get an original file. Please remember that Windows XP can have multiple instances of a .DLL file and remember which version is for which program.

I am running Windows XP SP3, fully updated, on an Acer lap top PC.

I have several folders full of .mp3's and want to see the bit rate and duration. To do this I right click on a column heading and select "Bit rate". I then click on "More..." so I can get to "Duration", and I select that one too.

The two new columns appear, but the format of the "Duration" column appears to be "hours:minutes", so I see "00:04" or "00:03" for most .mp3's, when what I want to see is 'hours:minutes:seconds", e.g. "00:03:45".

This also happens for video files (.avi files), e.g. all my episodes of "Heroes" (sad, I know) have a duration of "00:42" instead of "00:42:xx".

Here are two pictures showing the problem with the .mp3's. The first is of Explorer showing the Duration as "Hours:Minutes":

The second picture is of the properties window of the first .mp3 in the list above:

I copied some .mp3 files to another (old) PC on my home network, and it displayed the duration field correctly:

Also, the properties window correctly shows the duration also:

A:*RESOLVED* Media Center "Tuner Not Found" error, "Receiver service has stopped"

Okay, I resolved the first two issues, Tuner error and ehrecvr error. It had to do with multiple Admin user accounts on my computer. My computer was originally set up with a user Robert Baker with full privileges as administrator. I then also set up a MediaCenter account with full privilidges. For whatever reason the MediaCenter account has access to EVERY action on the computer except starting the ehrecvr service.1.  First set Media Center Service Launcher to log on at NT Authority    Services > Right-Click Windows Media Center Service Launcher > Properties > Log On tab > Log On As 'This account: ' > Type " NT AUTHORITY/LocalService " > Click Apply > General tab > Start service.2. I then set the Media Center Scheduler Service AND Media Center Receiver Service to log on as my other admin account. Same as above but with other account credentials and started the services.3. Reboot and no ehrecvr errors. Since this was a good sign I tried WMC and was able to set up my TV fine.I STILL, however, get the "Upgrade in progress" message when I open Media Center. Anyone know how to fix that? I've run setup again and can't get rid of it.

I've been having some problems with my computer and I've always somehow managed to work my way around the issues spyware/malware etc. have created but lately it's been getting out of hand.. Some time ago I got a virus or something that made the entire tab under "Processes" dissapear. So I could not see process-names in the task-manager. I have re-installed XP but this problem persists. I have been using a different application to monitor and handle processes.

The problem now is the constant pop-ups generated from this fake anti-virus program calling itself "Anti Virus Pro 2007" or something.. It pops up with fake commercials, and even attach itself into other explorer-windows while I view other pages.

As popups and messageboxes keep popping up, I close them, but after a while windows will open a messagebox telling me "Buffer overrun detected in e:\Windows\system32\explorer.exe" (or \\windows\explorer.exe I don't remember really but you get the idea) and explorer.exe will be terminated, sometimes taking some internet explorer windows along with it, other times explorer.exe just starts up again and all my windows remain.

I used to have Norton but was forced to remove it as it was sucking up all my CPU. It rendered my computer useless, as I mainly use it for gaming.

I've also experienced having the connection between me and my modem broken while beeing on the internet, and I don't know if my computer actually is offline or if -I'm- just... Read more

even after i burn it to USB correctly, tried this on other pc and USB can load just fine.
i'm thinking, it's something wrong with my boot system in System Reserved, is there anyway i can do to fix this?

Have you tried changing the boot sequence inside the BIOS?

Normally pressing F2 or F12 on the computer will solve this.

as described in the title when i boot my laptop: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834117780R
i get the "disk read error -> press cntrl alt del to restart" message. I then tried to access the backup partition through f10 only to run into this error "status : 0xc00000e9 Info : an unexpected I/O error has occurred" it seems that it cant communicate with my hard drive.

I read a few other forum posts but didnt see anyone have the 0xc00000e9 error also. Bios boot priorities are in order if that matters.

Is there a fix without having to replace the entire HD and buy a new vista installation(preinstalled w/ no disc in the box).

Im very reluctant to take it to a service center as i can very likely fix it myself (with the help of the friendly people here of course), only problem is im having a little trouble..finding.. my HD in this damn notebook.. heh, ill figure that part out. new to notebook repair.

Thanks in advance. Danny

edit: found the HD, doesnt look like it even uses a cable, just plugs right into what i assume is the mb. dont know if that helps just supplying what i can.

Anyone tried deleting a registry key in Windows 7?  Got "access denied" or "Error while deleting key"?
The usual response is, "You need to run regedit as an administrator".  but I *AM* logged in as Administrator, and running regedit as administrator, trying to assign administrator full permissions on that registry key in order to delete it!!
Am I mistaken, or isn't Administrator supposed to be able to administer and control all the settings on the computer, in order to set it up for the "Average Joe" user?
So, under the permissions menu of that key, go to advanced, change the owner from System to Administrator, and try again.  It's no longer saying "access denied", but "Cannot delete xxxxxx. Error while deleting key".

The scenario: Basically, the wireless has stopped working on a laptop. The device does not show up in Device Manager, but is in the registry, so the normal procedure is to delete the registry entry for the device in HKLM/System/CurrentControlSet (and /ControlSet001) /Enum/PCI    ,then attach the device or restart the computer, it finds the "new" hardware and reinstalls it. Easy!...

Not with permission restrictions on the administrator account it's not!  So I need to give myself permission, to give myself permission, to do a simple task like delete a single registry key!  Why, Microsoft, why???!!!  Please just make the Administrator accoun... Read more

While using "Windows Explorer" as an FTP client I have put the system into a state where any attempts to access an FTP folder from "Windows Explorer" produces the following dialog:
Dialog Title: "FTP Folder Error"
Dialog Icon: Information Icon
Dialog Text: "Windows cannot access this folder.  Make sure you typed the file name correctly and that you have permission to access the folder.  Details: No more Internet handles can be allocated"
Dialog Buttons: OK
I had used the "Add a network location" feature of "Windows Explorer" to add an FTP site.  The FTP folder appears under "Computer" in the left panel of "Windows Explorer."
It is not mapped to a drive letter.  I then initiated a large FTP transfer operation by using drag-and-drop from the FTP folder to a local folder.  A portion of the transfer completed as expected but after some time it produced the "No more Internet
handles can be allocated" error.  When OK was clicked the transfer was terminated.  In this case I am using large to refer to many thousands of files and directories to be transferred as opposed to a small count of files having many bytes.
After the initial error dialog is cleared with the OK button and the transfer is terminated I can then reliably reproduce the dialog.  Any attempt to open an FTP network location
from "Windows Explorer" will produce a n... Read more

I just resolved an issue I had with the wireless connectivity of my Acer notebook computer and now I am getting strange error messages. When I try (not every instance) to open device manager I will get the message "Failed to open empty document." From there I will occasionally get "Parser" messages that say "Value creation failed at line 843" or "line 422." I read what I could find about these messages and it points to MMC as the cause. How do I go about fixing this annoying problem if anyone knows?

I only get the BSOD when playing games, not any specific game, but any, sometime i can go a whole week of playing games and have no BSOD at all, and somedays 5 minutes after a game is running it will BSOD everytime, all day long. When I try to Run any game like GW2 Or Inquisition my pc turns into Bluescreen with an error CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED or KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR ..I've already Updated all my drivers and reinstalled all my games, also run chkdsk /f and memtest with no problems.

This is the screen:

Also this is my dump config:
(note that i have windows 8.1, not 7)

Still it doesn't create any File or Folder and when the BSOD happens the blue screen say that its collecting info but it doesn't get off 0% .
It's the same with the critical process died it just goes to the blue screen saying its collecting info but it also doesn't get off 0%.

I'm completely baffled with what to do as the blue screen view hasn't picked up anything and i cant find the dump files.

I have a big problem here,
I have used my hard disk for 9month,
Yesterday when I watched movie on the half way,
My hard disk suddenly disfuntion,
And I thought my laptop problem due to always lagging so I restart my computer.
But after that I can't read my hard disk (WD)in my computer.
It can read in computer management there.

Ways I try:
1)I try to uninstall and reinstalled again,BUT it doesn't work.
2)I try to unchecked the hide folder and device at view.
3)I try to update the software BUT it still disfunction.
4)I try to use disk management and initialized it BUT there appeared CANNOT INITIALIZED Due to I/O device error.

Any solution for me ?

A:Hard Disk can't read in "my computer ", "initialized",I/O device error

The most usual cause is that the Hard Drive is beginning to fail. Back up your stuff. Go to the website of the manufacturer and test the drive.

Hi all!
I'm hoping someone can help me with some problems I'm having setting up the network in our new house. I've read some other threads on similar topics, but haven't found the right solution. Yet.

We have a Netgear GS608 Ethernet router - not wireless. We also have an Arris modem. They are set up in our office, and has cables running to the office computer (an "emachines" with Windows XP), as well as one to two different bedrooms. The cables to the bedrooms run from the router into a plug in the office wall, then resurface out of a plug in each bedroom.

The office computer works fine. However, when I plug my laptop (Dell Latitude D820) into one of the bedroom lines, it tells me "Acquiring network address" and then "Limited or no connectivity." I believe it can detect the network on some level, because it says "a network cable is unplugged" when I unplug it. However, it won't connect.

Meanwhile, my housemate has a Mac. When he plugs it in in the bedroom, he gets the same message that I do. Yet, when he brings the Mac into the office and plugs the cable that goes from the router to the wall straight into his computer, it works! (This does not work for my computer.) However, when he does this, it throws the office computer offline (even though it is still plugged in), and gives an error message about conflicting IP addresses. When he unplugs it, the office computer comes back online.

It seems like there are... Read more

Option 1: Move Internet Zone slider to Medium
Navigate to the "ZoneAlarm Firewall" panel
Click on the "Firewall" tab
Move the "Internet Zone" slider to medium
The only thing this helped is that before i couldn't view my E-Mails in YahooMail and now i can BUT my internet is still having problems.

Hy Guys,

This is my first forum post albeit with a problem and here it is:

I wanted to make a Win7 bootable installation USB without formatting and so google came up with the following tutorial:

How To Make Bootable Windows USB Without Formatting

But it did not work and eventually bricked the USB/un-bootable, though the data is still there.

I was able to successfully recovered the data using Photorec. The main challenge is to reinstate the USB state prior to bricking it.

I found Teskdisk (cgsecurity.org) and analyzed the drive. Testkdisk detects 2 partitions. "(Space conflicts between two partitions) - 2 * Sys=74 & 1 * Sys=6E." (the partition structure as shown in linked image).

I also posted this on cgsecurity forums, but haven't received any resolution nor found a solution elsewhere:

But Testdisk doesn't offer options to fix conflicts and I'm no expert in fixing MBR issues so really don't know how to fix it?

How do I reinstate the USB state prior to bricking it?

Currently, using Win 7 (32bit). USB drive - file system prior to bricking: FAT32.

Can any buddy help me out. Infact I also tried the EasyBCD (https://neosmart.net/forums/) but they couldn't help either.

Can anybuddy/guys take a look and help me get the usb to pre-bricking state.

Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit
I adjusted Group Policy so additional authentication (PIN) would be required.
I thought I would need to uncheck the first option (Allow BL w/o TPM) because I want to require TPM.
When I rebooted (and after enabling TPM - F10), I attempted to activate Bitlocker (via the Control Panel) and this error message displayed:
"The Group Policy settings for BitLocker startup options are in conflict and cannot be applied.  Contact your system administrator for more information."
After (re)checking the first option (Allow BL w/o TPM) and leaving the default settings, except for the Require PIN and TPM option...
I redid the entire process (F10 to enable TPM and so forth), but when attempting to activate Bitlocker for the second time, this message displayed:
"The Group Policy settings for BitLocker startup options are in conflict and cannot be applied.  Contact your system administrator for more information."
I had a window of opportunity to make this happen, given the time it can take to actually encrypt the drive, and I was not able to make this happen.

A:"The Group Policy settings for BitLocker startup options are in conflict and cannot be applied."

I just had the same issue today, so here is what doesn't work with you :
If you have a motherboard and a BIOS compatible with a TPM, you can uncheck the first option "Allow Bitlocker without a compatible TPM".
Then, Microsoft has made a mistake with the terms that are being used (in my point of view) : in fact, you have to understand you cannot "require" an option if you "allow" some others...
So you have 2 choices :
 - either you "allow" each option so you can choose which one when you set Bitlocker on,
 - or you can "require" an option and disable all the others, so you will not be able to make a choice when you set bitlocker on.
I hope that is clear enough...
