I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

For a few weeks ago I purchased 2 computers, 1 ASUS and one Lenova. The Lenova has great WIFI and the expensive ASUS wifi hardly moves so I used the Lenova the most. Today the Lenova did a forced update and told not to turnoff computer because it was updating and you see the procent completed. It past through everything and then restarted. Then it when crazy. strange texts on the screen with background nature image and strange sounds as the computer was writing text strs and lines. like this ---***-*--*------. Then it died. Then I restarted and I now it has a blue scrren with that error code. Looking for my windows cd I remember at the store they only gave me the one for ASUS and said that I only need one. What do I do now? I have work saved on the computer.

You may want to check out some of the machines here;

Some can be configured to order. I have worked on a couple of these machines and although I wouldn't say they are as good as a machine you can build yourself, they certainly are as good as most anything you will find in the price range you stated.

Hi, I have a Compaq Presario 5441. I have had it for about 4-5 years and have not upgraded it. I run a small business from my home and need to be able to search the web quickly as well as use many programs. My system is very slow and has been giving me problems lately. I have frequent shut downs and error messages. It is very slow as well. I have decided to purchase a new system but am at a loss as to which one would work best for me. I don't know what I have in my current system or how to look for that information. Can anyone advise me on the minimum specs to look for when I make this purchase? Also, please let me know how to see what I currently have to compare? I am embarrassed to admit that I know very little about this and I do appreciate any advise I can get on this matter.

I was given an old HP computer today by my school.  The IT guy told me he wiped the computer.  I hooked the computer up at home today and when I turned it on I got a black screen that said "Non-System disk or disk error, replace and strike any key when ready".  Does this mean the IT guy wiped the operating system from the computer? Do I need to purchase a new operating system? Thanks!

Help me tweak my OC system purchase!
Hey, I'm trying to build a system that does decent overclocking. This will be the first time i'm overclocking a system. I would like to overclock the cpu and graphics card but not trying to do any extreme OC'ing, just an average performance boost. I posted this on another message board and this was the only responce I got.

"if you are going to OC...get a Fortron 400W at the very least. That Antec 350 W will be no good for any moderate or above OCing. ALso, if you want to OC (even if it's not extreme) spend a few extra bucks and get the EPoX 9NPA+ Ultra for $105. It's got serious OCing ability (on par with DFI LP Ultra-D) and is very stable."
here are my system specs:
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3000+
graphics card: EVGA N384 GEFORCE 6800 256MB with ZALMAN VF700 cooling fan
memory: 2 x 512MB DDR400 reusing from my old pc
case: Antec SLK 1650b 350w
I ordered these parts already, but I can do whatever to change them out. They havnt shipped yet.

So I have recently become an attic to the world of MMORPG's and have become an absolute World of Warcraft addict and want to play Aion when it comes out in a few weeks. I have playing for almost a year now on a very old Dell which could barely handle WoW, so I decided to invest in something mid price range for gaming knowing i might need to upgrade a few things for optimal game play. The system was actually working great for WoW when I first got it two weeks ago, no lag what so ever in major cities of WoW, with at least 60 fps in heavliy poplated areas on up in questing areas on totally maxed out settings in the game. I was so happy with the system that I purchased a large new 25" monitor a few days ago to upgrade from my old 15" one. Well, now my fps is way down and I'm bumed out and thinking that I need to upgrade my video card because i went with such a big monitor. Hopefully someone can reccomend one that I will be able to afford so my brother or boyfriend can install it. After buying a new system and a nice new big monitor to match I really only have $100 - $150 to spend on it, but I'm willing to go up to $200. If anyone could help me out I would really appricate it! Here are my system specs (i'm readding off the box so if I missed something please let me know ;0)

Hi, I recently obtained a virus on my system. To the best of my knowledge, it erased my Rtvscan.exe file. I had to reinstall Symantec and LiveUpdate to get caught up, and I ran a full system scan, but it was unable to find anything. Option 2: 1 ATI Radeon 4870 X2 DDR5 2GB

Middle ground might be 2 4850s but 1GB.

I will be doing some hi def video and photo editing and some occasional gaming. Option 2 is about $230 more. Will it be that much better? Will it be a lot louder? Looking to keep the system relatively quiet if possible. It's replacing one that sounds like an aircraft carrier.

Also - if option 2 would I be better off with the 1 4870 X2 or 2 4870s running in crossfire mode? They are about the same price.

Also my temps read around 40-60 because i play mmos, and my rear fan runs hard core alot even with case open, and idk if its just the fact that its a gaming pc or if it is telling me of a soon to come heat problem.

A:BSOD like many others. New iBuyPower....

Uninstall Avast then use the removal tool. Set Windows Firewall and Windows Defender to Automatic and start them too, using services.msc.

Update Realtek HD Audio codec driver from their website:

RTKVHD64 RTKVHD64.sys Fri Mar 29 09:40:06 2013 (515599B6)

Update motherboard bios to newest version.

Likely that the memory is not configured well, mismatched, or defective.

Please attach a screenshot of CPU-Z first tab, one of memory tab and one each for each stick of RAM of SPD tab - along with newest crash dumps - if necessary after completing the above. (Or perhaps Avast removal is the trick instead.)

Only other thoughts are that I have an old Lian-Li midi case for ATX boards, so could perhaps use that and save on a case. It has an older Antex TruPower 550w PSU in it, so if I picked up some cheap Molex to Sata power cables I could try running it without buying a new PSU. What do you think?

A:Potential Sandy Bridge system purchase... new PSU or try it on Antec 550w?

I think 550w might be pushing it slightly, though I'm not entirely sure, so best wait for it to be confirmed by someone else.

Maybe dump the case (your Lian Li will be plenty good enough) and grab a couple of Spinpoint F3 1TB hard disks for storage?

Or get a decent aftermarket cooler for your new CPU?

Before my system recovery, not much was wrong with my computer, it was just getting slow mainly because my hard drive was pretty much full. I tried cleaning it out the best I could a couple times but it just kept filling up more and more, and I play a lot of games so things just started getting a little slow compared to what it was when I first started playing.

So I did a system recovery, i've done it before with other computers, and i think maybe once with this one a while ago before I got a new CPU/Processor/Graphics card/ect. I started it, used my Future shop recovery to default disc, everything was fine until it was done and a lot of my drivers that use to work didn't.

That was the first problem. My network adapter was the big one that I ended up having to download on my laptop and transfer it to my computer, which worked out okay and I ended up getting my internet to work. I've had problems between that and where I'm at now mainly just update issues but they're all fixed so no need to explain.

The problem I'm having now is just everything lol, my computer is about 3-5 times as slow as it was before the recovery, firefox crashes a lot, when I'm playing League of Legends it sometimes skips and FPS sky rockets along with my ping from 60-70 fps to 20-30 with 250-300 ping. Hey all, new to the forums and in pretty serious need of some help. I bought an IBUYPOWER prebuilt gaming rig last... April I think, and its been working great for me. Recently however ( the last month or so), the sound keeps going out. It went out for about a week before randomly coming back (nothing I did), and now its been gone for about 2-3 weeks. The sound icon down by the clock shows a red x and says that no speakers are plugged in. I've tried a bunch of things to try and get my audio back on, but no luck. I'm not sure what I would need to provide here for anybody to help me, or what I SHOULDNT post for security reasons, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Some important notes
*I have Windows 7
*I have two jacks for my speakers, one in the back where you would typically expect to find one, but also an additional one in the front panel. Neither one apparently works, leading me to believe its a driver issue.
*Gosh idk what else to put down! any help would be greatly appreciated, I used to think I was capable with computers but this seems to be beyond me

Hi everyone...I'm in the process of getting a new computer and I'm currently looking at this online place called www.ibuypower.com ... basically that site lets you choose the components and they'll put it together for you. I searched the parts on NewEgg and the price actually came out higher hahah

Anyway, what's troubling me is that a look at their ratings at ResellerRatings.com is "great" http://www.resellerratings.com/seller2001-p3-s1-d1.html

Does anyone out there know if the iBuypower computers or other computer out there on like Tigerdirect or the ZT brands from Costo are any good? I've never heard of them but keep seeing them popping up everywhere....

I've only ever had a Dell, HP or Gateway machine.

A:iBuypower and other non-namebrand computers

They're most often made from quite much better quality parts than Dell, etc as they don't get exclusively extra cheap motherboards and other parts like the big brand companies. They do sometimes use lower quality power supplies though, quite a feat considering what the factory built boxes have. I wouldn't recommend getting any of them without modifying it yourself and selecting a quality power supply for it, or replacing it yourself to save a few dozen dollars, as well as getting a longer warranty for the PSU.

A old ( 2007-ish ) system of mine has been getting frequent BSODs since a couple of weeks. The BSOD messages are mostly different each time and include "IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL", "PFN LIST CORRUPT" and "BAD POOL CALLED". Sometimes it will take a day or so before a BSOD appears, but after a reboot it usually doesn't take much time before the next one appears. A:PXE-E61 Media Test Failure on recently recovered system

Hello samir155,

Welcome to the Forums.

This problem is a hard drive fault. You can try resitting the hard drive if that's something you know how to do, although a replacement hard drive may be nessacery.

However, something which i've seen fix this problem first hand, believe it or not, is to give the laptop a good old whack. Putting some relative force into a slap on the rear setions of the laptop has resolved this issue. Although i should add, it's entirely up to yourself if you wish to try it.

This problems happens because of a problem with the head and the platter.

However, I'm unable to access the UEFI configuration, as the pc just stops.
Twice in the past few days it's been able to work itself out and boot as normal, so I know it's not a harddrive issue, but it's extremely rare.
I formatted and installed a fresh windows on a secondary drive to see if that would help to both avail.
I have a video showing what happens, but I can't upload it

A:ibuypower Valkyrie CZ 27 boot hang

Post a link to the video.
You can upload the video to a free file hosting service (I suggest One Drive).

Back in December 2009 I bought a computer from iBuypower. I have just recently noticed how slow the install is because I got a new copy of Windows 7 for my 13inch MacBook Pro(2.66 Core2, 4GB RAM) and it seems to run games faster and be more stable. Could it just be a early version of 7 that is causing the problem? or is it hardware?

iBuyPower Specs:
Core i7 OCed 3.2GHz
12GB RAM at 1600Mhz
ATI 5850 1GB

A:Slow Windows 7(iBuypower Disc)

Your over clock maybe causing it to slow down.

Heat can cause issues with Hardware, and can you post pictures of the insides of your case.

deciding between fry's lenovo k330-77275su and best buy's ibuypower bb9371 ? maybe ibuypower 3rd gen. i7 bb982p; i'm worried about ibuypower using 'micro' motherboards; these 2 ibuypower computers both have 1 free pci slot, the lenovo has 2, i think; i might want to upgrade ram to 16gb , and upgrade video card at some future point, i would onlly use this machine for gaming: should i worry about the 'micro' motherboard issue ? lenovo is $950, ibuypower's are $840 and $1000, respectively; thanks i might have to upgrade power supply if i upgraded the video card at some future date; thanks would i be able to make these 3 upgrades to the ibuypower desktops ? thanks

So, recently some strange FPS started occuring on my system accompanied by a constant 5-6% CPU usage of the SYSTEM process. Approximately every 2 seconds everything but the mouse freezes for half a second. This happens regardless of what I am doing (it even occurs if I have only explorer open) and is also recorded by running applications such as games.

As this never happened before, I immediately suspected that my system may be infected. I disabled all autoruns and restarted my computer in safe mode, then ran a Malwarebytes scan. The scan found no infections, but I still strongly suspect that this may be malware.

When I reboot the computer the lag seems to dissapear for some time and the CPU usage of the SYSTEM process usage goes down to 0-1%. After some time, the lag returns and the system process usage increases to a constant 6%.

Do you have any idea what could be causing this and what can I do? If I don't find a way to resolve this i will do a clean install of Windows.

A:Strange system-wide graphical lag started occurring recently

Do you have an anti-virus program running in the background, and have you run a full scan with it (in addition to Malwarebytes which is not the same thing)?

I tried to run a check disk of my C: (System) drive, and was unable to do so through Windows. It claims that it cannot run due to a recently installed software package and recommends I use system restore to revert back. Odd thing is, I just recently used a system image to recover the system, and I have not installed any new software since that time.

The system image recovery feature of Windows seems to do some odd things, as well. For instance, my Windows update history is blank now; the updates show up in add/remove programs but not under Windows update.

I am currently running chkdsk /r through the Windows 7 DVD on the C: (System) drive. I'd appreciate any suggestions to fix my issue(s) for when I wake up in the morning. Thanks everyone!

Probably not hardware. Suspect system corruption.

First do a SFC

Run a system file check to verify and repair your system files.
To do this type cmd in search, then right click to run as administrator, then

It may need to be run up to three times before sucessful

Read here for more information SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Let us know the results from the report at the end.

Then if nec. a repair install.

I'm just going to make a long story short and say this: I bought an ibuypower laptop (Battalion HEL80) a while and I had to format. Unfortunately I don't have the driver disk for my network card (wired and wireless) and I don't know what the exact model or who the manufacturer is. Does anyone know what kind of card this laptop would have or know of some way I could get the model number?

A:Can't Find Network Drivers For Ibuypower Laptop

Hi Jage_B. Try an application like Everest. It should be able to tell you who the manufacturer is of all of the hardware components in the system. Whether or not drivers are available is another question lol. Here's a link for Everest: http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System...e-Edition.shtmlCheers.OT

I believe it uses an Intel 945PM chipset.

If so it probably uses an Intel NIC. You can download the chipset drivers from here: http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df-external/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=N&ProductID=816&DwnldID=12150&strOSs=45&OSFullName=Windows*%20XP%20Home%20Edition&lang=eng

Hey everyone,
I have a 2 year old laptop and two weeks ago it stopped charging. So I took it to a repair shop that fixed it and then this week it stops charging. My wife and I noticed a funny smell the past few days. I am short on cash so we i opened my laptop up and took my motherboard out. It is dark brown all around the dc jack and there are melted parts that dripped down.
Can anyone tell me what should be my next step? Can I fix this? Or is it not possible?
I have some pics attached.

My dual monitor Win 7 64bit started getting BSOD about 10 days ago. I did see a Windows update for an Nvidia software update about same time. I use this computer 8-10 hrs per day, no problems until recent. My system shows that I have activated dump files and saw one earlier today in minidump folder but when I went to open it it disappeared. Can't locate it anywhere on computer.

Though I put this system together about 3 yrs ago, Im not much of a techie. Appreciate any help!

A:BSOD Recently Started. System Not Saving Dump Files Though Activated

Unfortunately we can't do much without the .dmp file. Check to see if it is located in C:\Windows\Minidump

Do you use CCleaner or other utility to "clean" the computer on a regular basis? If so, that could be why the .dmp file is missing - it has been deleted.

Today my boss got her new laptop from IBUYPOWER (Gaming Computers and Gaming Notebooks - Buy a new Gaming PC - iBUYPOWER). When I checked the package contents it included a slip of paper that has the Microsoft labeling with Windows 7/Windows Vista product key on it. When me and her chose the laptop we opted for the $25 dollar mail-in-rebate for the upgrade. I don't know about you guys but I was VERY surprised and am a little hesitant to perform an upgrade with the RTM ISO and type in the key...

What do you guys think?

A:IBUYPOWER gave out my boss' Win7 Upgrade Key today

I don't see that it wouldn't work, as long as you use the proper version that they key was provided for.
