I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi everyone,

Thank you for your splendid response to the latest Best of the Year Antivirus/Suite polls and Pro's & Con's review section of various antiviruses.

This thread will solely focus on how to configure various antivirus/suites for Best Protection in 2018.
Each week we could discuss about a new software so there's plenty of time to configure our systems

Few pointers:

If possible you can provide screenshots for the same. If you can record a video of it, it could be a lot easier! (There's no harm in just giving a text-based tutorial too)
You specifically don't need to know all the tweaks required for best protection, but if you know any, it could help others a lot.
If you think a tweak can cause degradation in performance you might also highlight it for reference.

Let's start alphabetically?

Are you tired of opening a command prompt while in a user account with Administrator privileges, and then running your command only to have it deny you access to it? Are you tired of other security warnings and disabilities when you are already the Administrator?

Well then this tutorial is for you. It is a simple and effective method to bypass the overprotective operating system.

I advise that you have a good hardware firewall (almost all routers qualify) between your machine and your ISP connection. Windows is protected from being accessed remotely to an account when there is no password present. However, if you do have a password, it is advised that it is long and random, with many different types of symbols such as $#(%&*. A weak password can be guessed at and your system compromised.

I also recommend not disabling the Windows Defender service. It is MSE on Windows 8 and is excellent.

This tweak goes well when UAC is already disabled and is assumed you have done so already.

Disabling UAC using this method will break all Metro Store app until enabled again, and the computer restarted.

For the proper method for Windows 8 now, see: User Account Control (UAC) - Change Settings in Windows 8

So let's start.

User Account Control (UAC) - Elevate Privilege Level - Vista Forums

1) Type secpol.msc in the Start Menu and press Enter.

2) Double click on Local Policies then double click on Security Options.

I tried to enter the DailyFlix site earlier today and got a message saying something along the lines of "the site was innacessable and to check with my ISP for further info". I then did a check on the "Is It Down Right Now" website which told me it was online and must only be offline for me. I let it go at until this evening when I tried to visit DailyFlix again but this time I got the following message and after again getting the only offline for me message at Is It Down Right Now I decided to take a screenshot of the message and ask someone here what it means. I have googled it but there are no obvious messages on there being a problem with DailyFlix and I am confused on what the problem with my access is. It was working okay for me as early as yesterday. Thanks in advance for any help offered.

Hi everyone, I installed drivers or a driver for my Canon printer , it seems one failed and one succeeded , are these one of the same because I see one is called imaging and one isn't .

Thank you

A:Need help with screenshot

I don't know. You might look at the Canon website and see what they offer directly.

I'd see if I could do whatever I wanted to do with the printer. If it functioned well, I'd say leave it alone.

I'd worry about your question only if there were some signs of malfunction or printer features that did not work.

I would not generally try to always have the latest drivers for all hardware if the hardware appeared to be working OK.

"Recommended" updates usually aren't a high priority item. I pay more attention to those marked at least "important".

HI there everybody i have a problem with taking a screen shot i recently did a destructive recovery and i think it got my configurations out of whack its a small problem actually there is two but ill start with what i think might be the simplest one before when i pressed Ctrl+Alt+prt scr to do a screenshot it would capture it as a bitmap and now after the recovery it captured on my clip board i think it simthing to do with thr registry how can i fix that. and the other problem is when coloring with paint the colors are wrong something wrong there if you can help me with these issues i would be pleased

A:need help with screenshot going to clipbrd

I dont get what you mean, when you do a print screen it will always go to your clipboard, then you paste it in to a program such as paint or word or something along those lines?

I may be mis-understanding the issue.

Can you also expand a little on the PAINT issue, how do you mean the colours are wrong? Have you updated your graphics drivers on the machine since you fixed it?

I copied/pasted the following from a post I made a Sticky on another forum...the original poster goes by the nick of ukbobby01

This is how you do a "screen print".

a) Get the screen you want to print on your monitor.

b) Press the Alt + PrtScn buttons on your keyboard.

c) Open MS Paint and from the menu press Edit then Paste.

You should now see the screen you want to save in the Paint app.

d) Save the screen with whatever name you like but change the extension from bmp (the default) to jpg.

You will find that your screen print is saved as a jpg file and is now in your "My Picture" folder on your C drive.

Hello W7F friends!

I have a question for you this morning!

I own a Pavilion Dv7 HP Notebook, Intel Core i5 M460 @ 2.53 GHz, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 6370, 6GB ram running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit.

I do play games on my laptop and have noticed that after a few hours of playing my laptop can get really hot. I took a screenshot of my computers temperature as soon as I got done playing for a few hours and here is what I saw.

Based on the image provided,.. do you believe my computer temperature is to high? Keep in mind that those temp's could rise while I'm playing a game. Thank you for any on formation you could provide! Sorry if I posted this in the wrong place, I'm a newbie to the forums.

A:Is my computer to hot? (Screenshot)

Are the temperatures when playing games?

Here's some information about your processer: http://ark.intel.com/products/50179/...Cache-2_53-GHz)

The TJ Max (Thermal Junction) is 105'C, which is the highest temperature your CPU will run at, until it starts displaying warning messages and desperately trying to cool your CPU.

Install CoreTemp: http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/

This program will monitor your CPU's temperature and it's TJ.Max

Hope this helps,

in the Win7 Beta, I could press PrtScr and I would be prompted to select an area of the desktop that I wish to capture (I used Snagit in XP for that).

However, I can't get this to work in Win7. The Snipping Tool is still there, but pressing PrtScr doesn't do anything and I have to manually start the application.
Not even assigning a shortcut works (so I can start it with Ctrl+Alt+P), since the tool starts, but I can't actually select a screen area.

What happened? Is there a way to make it work again WITHOUT pinning it to the taskbar? It was working before...

A:Screenshot Utility

Do you want snagit, prtscr like in beta, or snipping? Snagit works in 32bit, prtscr works the same way for me that it did in beta (7000) but even in beta it didnt give me the ability to select an area just the whole screen. You sure you didnt have an app installed in beta?
