I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Well, my first real problem with 8.1, my bluetooth mouse drops connection about every 15-20 minutes. Turn it off and back on it reconnects.

A search of the web shows other people with same problem. I've tried everything I know of, power settings for bluetooth the mouse and usb ports, drivers, uninstall/re-install. This is a real pain in the keister.

Suggestions anyone? This does seem to be a common problem from what I see.

Do you have any other devices which use bluetooth? Maybe the mouse is getting interference from something. I know iPhone's always turn on bluetooth after every update. Just a thought..

I got a new Thinkpad Bluetooth Mouse with my Thinkpad Yoga 370 and although I love the machine, the bluetooth isn't that great. I have to pair the mouse to use it everyday.  After an hour or two of inactivity the mouse disconnects and I have to re-pair it.   Anyone have a solution for this?  Is this just Windows 10 behavior or something I'm missing in a setting on the machine?

This is really starting to annoy the hell out of me. I just picked up a Microsoft Bluetooth mouse, the Notebook 5000 mouse to be exact for my home entertainment center.

I have my PC ran to a monitor and a 55 inch Samsung LED LCD TV for watching movies etc. The problem is, the HDMI cord is run threw the wall so the PC is in another room so I cant use the normal mouse on the PC. I bought a bluetooth mouse due to the increased range but I'm having nothing but issues.

I have the Microsoft Bluetooth dongle btw, didn't come with the mouse, the mouse actually comes with no dongle.

Anyway it connects fine but if I stop using it for like an hour or whatever it disconnects and nothing I do will reconnect it unless I take my other mouse, go into bluetooth devices, delete it and readd it all over again.

WHY THE HELL does it keep doing this lol?

It's very annoying, I sit down to watch a movie and discover I cant start it without first going into the other room and readding my mouse.

I'm well within range and I've tried moving the bluetooth mouse to the same room as the PC to use it with the PC and it still does the same thing.

Help?

It's your dongle. I have the same mouse and it works absolutely fine. I'll bet you have the USB option set to power the dongle down when unused. How's the radio in the mouse supposed to wake up a sleeping dongle?

I have a Microsoft bluetooth arc mouse, which I got .... not sure, maybe two years ago, maybe less. It now works only sporadically. It'll freeze up. Generally it will start working again if I turn it off, by flattening it, and turn it back on again. But not always. Generally if I turn it off and use a corded mouse for a while, and then turn it back on, it will start working.

Anyway, all this is frustrating and unsatisfactory. I've changed the batteries, and that didn't help. I suppose I could try again. Is there something I need to clean? Or is this just the average life expectancy of a bluetooth mouse, and should I just get another?

A:Microsoft bluetooth arc mouse

I wouldn't say average, for any type of mouse, but it's not uncommon either. In any case, it sounds like a faulty mouse or possibly the BT receiver. But mouse is more likely.

My bluetooth mouse is causing me headache - again.I used to have times when it randomly turn off but this is not the point here right now. I know that there are already posts about that.In my case my bluetooth works fine for bluetooth loudspeaker and external keyboard but as soon as I switch on my mouse it interferes with the other device. So when I turn on the mouse the speaker stops playing music and the external keyboard is off as well. When I go the settings trying to connect the bluetooth mouse I can see it but when I try to pair it either it disappears in the moment I am hovering over it (as if someone wanted to fool me actually) or when clicking on it successfully I get the message "This didn't work" or "Make sure your mouse is still discoverable".I tried many things already in the settings as well as in the device manager but nothing works. As a matter of fact, everytime when I switch on the bluetooth mouse it messes up with everything.Did anyone have this ever before and if so, could you solve it?Many thanks in advance for your answer and have a nice day!

This is my first experience with trying to use a bluetooth device, a Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Mouse, on my Dell X8500 running Win 7 SP1. I thought it would be simple but, boy, was I wrong. I went to Add a Device as instructed but the system didn't detect it. After trying the several things suggested by the system I finally took a look at Devices and Printers and fount the Bluetooth USB Host Controller had a yellow exclamation point with it. I found the following message for the Bluetooth LWFLT Device and the Virtual Bluetooth Device.

"This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)".

I had chased down one or two other avenues and got a message saying something like, "Windows update is not configured to download the driver."

Anyone have a way to get my Bluetooth mouse to be recognized?

Thank you very much.

Hi jsquareg,

Please let me know which bluetooth card is installed on the system. If it is bluetooth/wireless card then let us know the model of the same.

You would need to install bluetooth driver and application for the system. You can also check this video for updating the same on your own:

My Bluetooth mouse is not working. PC settings seems to see the mouse but cannot connect to the mouse. It tries but, the mouse willnot activate.

If the PC Settings screen says it sees the Bluetooth mouse but also says "offline", I remove it from the list. Then, I click on the Bluetooth icon then click on "add Bluetooth device". This sends me to the PC Settings screen where I click on "Add Device". It looks and finds the Bluetooth mouse then tries to connect with it. That process never completes. It shows the device but indicates it is "offline".

Has anyone had similar problems with the Bluetooth mouse or any other Bluetooth devices?

This is a bit of an issue for me because I have arthritic hands and it is easier for me to use a mouse than a trackpad or my fingers.

The laptop is an HP TouchSmart tm2. It has 4 gB memory and a 280 gB hard drive. Running Windows 8 Consumer Beta, Build 8250.

The mouse worked just fine under W7.

I use that mouse with my VAIO SR290 notebook and Windows 8.

Try removing any instance of the mouse from Devices and Printers (leftover from previous attempts). Then turn on the mouse, press the little button on the bottom to turn on "discovery" mode, then try to add the mouse again.

Best of luck to you!

It took me several days to get my new Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Mouse detected by my Dell XPS 8500 Win 7 PC but with the help of SanddeepP on this forum I finally got it to work. Now I wonder if it was worth it. I find the blue button on the left side, the one that brings up the start menu, to be very, very, annoying. Up pops the start menu whenever my thumb rests a little more than lightly on it. (Darn it, it just did it again.)

Does anyone know of a way to disable that button? Control Panel/Mouse offers no way.

Hi jsquareg,

I understand it is causing more issues than when it was not working. Have you checked if in the mouse software has options to disable the button for opening the start menu.

Maybe it would take sometime for you to get used to the new mouse and it should get better by the time.

Please check the mouse software and let us know if you require further information.

I'm running Windows 8.1 and using a Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Bluetooth Mouse. I've been using it for months and had no issue until recently. Now, it keeps disconnecting.

If I open Bluetooth settings in the metro settings app, the mouse immediately connects and begins working. If I then minimize the settings, the mouse seems to keep working as long as I keep moving the cursor continually. If I take my hand off the mouse for just a second, it disconnects until I open the Bluetooth settings menu again.

Anyone heard of this before? What can I try?

Hi,

I was using Microsoft Arc Touch Bluetooth mouse with windows 10 OS. Few days back I did "remove device" from my laptop when it was paired already and working, after that the mouse isn`t going back to the pairing mode any way. I tried pairing
it with another laptop even with different OS but the mouse itself isn`t going to pairing mode when pressing pairing button at bottom of it (for 3 to 5 seconds) its red/green light not turning on.
I don`t think its pairing button gone faulty all of a sudden. Also changed batteries but failed.

I don`t see any RESET button on the mouse to try reset it. Do anyone knows how to reset Arc Touch Bluetooth Mouse? anyone who faced it and got it back to pairing mode again?

Your response will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Try using the Vista driver(64 or 32bit, whichever version of Win 7 RC that is installed) for your bluetooth module from your manufacturer. I suspect it is the module driver and not the device. (mouse in this case). Once the module driver is installed, then use the Vista software for the specific device to enable the configuration and features.

I did some google-ing to try to trouble-shoot and I tried the following:
Go to the Power Management page and clear the checkbox ?Allow the computer to

Apparently there is a bug in the power management of the Bluetooth driver

Hi Durden,
Went to another site and found a solution that worked. You might want to try it out.
Go to START icon and type in services.msc and select services.
The dialog box that opens has a long list of stuff but look for BLUETOOTH SUPPORT SERVICE. Double click to open. Make sure it is AUTOMATIC. Go to the LOG tab. Choose THIS ACCOUNT and type in LOCAL SERVICE. A list of password (a 15-dot string) would appear. Delete all the password in the PASSWORD and under CONFIRM. Choose Okay.
It will ask you to restart the service. Once restarted, turn on your bluetooth adaptor again. Put your mouse in pairing mode and add the mouse. It works perfectly!!!
Give it a try and see if it helps.

The Microsoft Designer Keyboard and Mouse operates very intermittently. I notice this most frequently when the XPS15 dims or turns off the display but it can also happen spontaneously while I'm moving the mouse pointer around. I think both mouse and keyboard stop working at the same time. I have found that sometimes, if I use the trackpad to move the mouse pointer around, the Designer mouse starts working again. If not, it appears to not update the mouse pointer indefinitely or until I reboot the XPS15.
I've spent time pairing and unpairing the mouse. Pairing pairing fails maybe 10-20 % of the time.

Are you using your on-board bluetooth adapter.

Have you checked the device manager to see if your bluetooth is allowed to be turned off to save power (disable if so)

Do you have the Asus BT Go! Bloatware installed? is so you could try removing it. If you dont perhaps it could help (I dont have on-board bluetooth so don't know)

Please understand that I am a simple person who wanted to buy a simple product that I thought would simply work: I'm not an IT expert and I have no idea what to do when things don't work as expected.
So I brought a bluetooth mouse, of Microsoft brand, just to make sure I didn't have any issues, after having already purchased three separate mice from three separate retailers, of which NONE worked.
I plug it in, it's working fine, then it stops.  I turn it off and on again, it works for about another 10 minutes then it turns off again.
This happens constantly; I am just continually turning off and on the stupid mouse instead of just being able to go about my business.  It comes back to life quite slowly.  In summary, it's a major pain in the ass.
I've looked at a few google results, but the advise seems extremely difficult to follow because a) I have nfi which version of Windows 8 I'm running and b) none of the menus which are referenced in the instructions seem to relate to my computer and I cannot
find any of these stupid menus (or whatever).
Can anyone tell me if this is a simple fixable problem (and how to simply fix it), or should I return the mouse because it's faulty?  I mean, is this going to be an ongoing problem or what?
Any help would be appreciated, but please keep it REALLY simple.
Ps. It just died AGAIN!!!

Hello all

Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse Bluetooth doesn't work on my Dell laptop. Here is some more detailed information:
Laptop: Dell Vostro 3750
Operation System: Windows 7 Professional 64bit SP1

Steps to reproduce:
1, turn on Bluetooth of Sculpt Touch Mouse
2, go to 'Devices and Printers'
3, add a device
4, double click 'Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse' on the list of popup screen
5, the 'Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse' device (icon) will be added to device list on 'Devices and Printers'
6, ovserved that the icon of 'Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse' was grey out and couldn't be used
7, tried to move the mouse, but no response and the light on the top of the mouse keeps flashing (red <--> green)

The Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse was suppose to be setup / install in one minute. That's why I prefer to buying the Microsoft mouse product. But it wasn't. It took me few days to try to install it and it was still failed.

Could everyone tell me how to fix that? Thanks.

Is anyone else seeing this?() Do I have a hardware problem?  I recently purchased a JBL Flip bluetooth speaker.I used it at first with my iphone and it played flawlessly for hours.I have tried to use it with my W520 without succes.  What happens is that it will play flawlessly for a few minutes and then just stop.  At that point:() If i shut off / on the speaker it reconnects and resumes playing.() If I shut off bluetooth on the PC and turn it back on it reconnects and starts playing.() If I disconnect and then attempt to reconnect to the speaker using the control panel without cycling anything then it errors out when trying to reconnect. () If I do nothing then sometimes at some random time later, the music starts playing out of the bluetooth speaker again.. Other observations:() When the drop occurs, music does not switch back to playing out the w520 speakers. It just goes silient.  () This occurs when I'm using my computer so it's not a case of something going to sleep.() The CPU is not particularly loaded when this occurs.() This is the only device I've ever really tried to use with bluetooth on my machine.() There does not appear to be a "bluetooth" test in the Lenovo hardware test suite. My first suspect would obvioulsy be the speaker except that I can use it flawlessly for _hours_ playing from my iphone. Anyone else? Thanks.  ... Hi,
I got a Microsoft 3600 Bluetooth mouse and I can get it to pair with my M7510 laptop when I boot to Windows 7 (I have a dual boot for Win7 and Win10 setup), but in Windows 10, it can detect the mouse, but when I click "Pair" it just disappears.
Does anyone know how to get the MS 3600 mouse to work with Windows 10?

Thanks,
Jim

A:Cannot pair a Microsoft 3600 Bluetooth mouse with M7510 and Windows 10 (Windows 7 is ok)??

I don't know if this has anything to do with my problem, but I noticed that in Device Manager, there is an "Unknown" device.
The description says "Microsoft Bluetooth LE Enumerator" and the Device ID is:
BTH\MS_BTHLE\6&25D00697&3&0
But it says that "No drivers are installed for this device".
Anyone know where to get the driver for that device for a Dell M7510 and Windows 10?

I have a Lenovo e530c thinkpad, had no issues but over the past few months the bluetooth wont work and the wifi drops out and goes to "no internet" then comes back on after a couple mins. The laptop came with win 8 and I thought it maybe an issue with the operating system so I put Win 7 pro on and the issue is still there. From looking on the net the Intel pci card has a few connectivity issues. Mine is the N2230. If i try and reinstall the drivers i get the following error "no bluetooth device was detected please make sure your bluetooth device is plugged in". The card is firmly in and screwed down, looking on the net other people have similar issues but nobody can solve it!

Win 10/64 10586, HP z5000 Bluetooth mouse, Dell xps L502X laptop latest Intel Centrino Wireless 3.0 driver 10.0.10586.122
Initially pairs and works, drops after a period, and will not re-pair after a reboot; bluetooth still sees the mouse and states it is paired. Have to either remove and then add again, or, on bluetooth settings, remove and wait for it to say "ready to pair", and then re-pair it. All a bit of a pain.

In addition to the above, we have downloaded the latest software from Intel, we have also tried uninstalling the devices from the device manager. MS says we have the latest software!!

I can see many Bluetooth issues on Windows 10, plus I guess the driver software is quite old, and maybe Bluetooth 3 is uncomfortable with win 10.

Is worth getting a Bluetooth dongle using version 4? Would it be guaranteed to work?

So what's the best answer here to avoid the hassle?

On my Dell Notebooks the Bluetooth adapter is part of the Wi-Fi adapter, turn Wi-Fi off and Bluetooth is also off. Do you see the Wi-Fi still working when Bluetooth is having problems?

Hello, I've discovered that when i'm connecting the HP Z5000 Mouse to the laptop, the internet connection would start dropping. How it happens:I connect the mouse via bluetooth (paired device) and the mouse works and so does the internet;I restart the laptop without disconnecting the mouse and it restarts with no issues, the mouse works and i have internet connection however, the pages would just fail to load. Either the browser would just load the page, or a message would appear "Could not reach this site". This happens when using bot Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome. I disconnect the mouse and the internet is working again, pages load and there are no intreruptions. I used HP Network check whitout the mouse connected and it showed "No issues found" i connect the mouse and run network check again and still no issues found. I restart the laptop with the mouse connected and run HP network check again and again, no issues found.  I have downloaded the latest updates from HP Support assistant and also have the latest Windows 10 updates. Also the Wi Fi icon shows no notifications, the signal is always showing properly, and the status is "Connected, secured" I have uninstalled the Bluetooth driver and re-installed manually from the HP Support web site and also i have tried a BIOS crisis recovery but it made no difference; The problem with this is that i get no notifications or any errors that i could work with to know what causes the timeout... The Wifi adapter (Ralink RT3290 802.11bgn) has been malfunctioning for the past two weeks. The wifi signal strength of visible networks is vey weak. It shows good strength in other devices though. Also, the Bluetooth , when turned on, never finishes searching for nearby devices. So, i am unable to connect to new devices. This laptop is 2 years old. Please suggest methods to resolve.

Hi poeple, I need your help on the issue I'm facing from the minute when the latest windows 10 creators update got installed on my laptop. Issue description: After swithing on my bluetooth gedphones that are already paired with the laptop, it successfully connects to the laptop. But after roughly 10 seconds, connection between devices drops and windows says that audio serice is not running. This happens every time I'm turning on the headphones. I found a workaround for the issue. I need to shut down the bluetooth service on the laptop, turn on the headphones and then enable the bluetooth on my laptop. Headphones successfully connects to the laptop and everything works well until I turn off my headphones and try to connect them next time. Please let me know if you have any ideas how to fix this.
