Video Game graphic problem

Q: Video Game graphic problem

Hello, i need to ask people of this problem because i cant figure this out...

Recently, iv upgraded from a GeForce 5500 (which had no problems in the past) to a GeForce 6200 (which is fine for me, out of date i know).. Im finding that whenever i open anything pretaining to Video games or even just random occurences, that it hard-locks and the graphics get very odd.

So, i figured that maybe my computer cant run the game. And it can. So i ruled out that aspect. So it must be my GeForce doing this to me.
So, does anyone have any idea what my problem is?
Side Note: It even has graphic problems on a game called Terraria (2D side scroller)

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi, I am not getting proper graphics for godfather game. The gameplay is like, the characters are ok but the environment and vehicles are all white color. I have intel 82852/82855 gm/gme graphic controller with 64 mb video memory.

A:Godfather game problem with graphic issues.

You need a DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics card and the Intel 82852 is only DX 8 compatible. If its a laptop you need a new one, if its a desktop machine I would consider getting a decent graphics card to play games.

Hello Group,

Windows XP, Powerpoint 2007, Window Media Player 9

Created a simple Powerpoint page, with a menu of small graphic icons that when clicked activate a particular video clip.

All works fine, video is activated properly, and when it ends, the media player closes and control is returned to my Powerpoint page.

However, the graphic icon that was just used to activate the video is now turned to all black. Why?

Kisok mode is set to ON so the next user can make their selection. Rewind video at end option has no effect, same behavior whether on or off.

How can I stop this blackening of the graphic icon on the Powerpoint page when the video activated by clicking that icon ends? It is acting like Kiosk mode is not being recognized, as by definition the page must be preserved intact for the next user of the kiosk application.

Hope someone can help. Thanks for looking in. Also posted to Multimedia forum in case the problem is the media player.

Heya.. I've been searching for an answer to this question all over the internet for about a week now, and I still haven't found anything, so I thought, that I write here...
There's absolutely no problems with MAFIA installation, as I know, many people do. Also, I've reinstalled it about five times, so don't recommend that to me. When I open the game, then first of all, NOD32 determines something.. if you think, that it would help, if I wrote here, what it actually says, then I will write it here, but you gotta let me know. Besides, there's nothing that could be a virus, I have original CD's, right from Gathering of Developer's. Then I close NOD32 form task manager, and open Mafia again (the last time nothing but the NOD note appeared). This time is almost the same, only without the NOD notification. When I look at the task manager processes, then Game.exe appears for a half of a second, but that's all, and even that isn't happening every time. Once, way back, about 3 months ago p) it gave me 'Init error'. Then I looked up in the internet and Illusion Softworks had said, that most of the 'Init errors' comes from the graphic card drivers or not updated DirectX. DirectX is up to date, but here comes my problem, there's just no drivers for my graphic card on ATI website. Ofcourse, I've looked from other sites but still notning normal..

Now clearly: If I open Game.exe, nothing happens, what to do? I ... Read more

Hi all, please give me some advice~

The graphics/video display on one of my computers just went crazy, it's totally distorted in different ways - vertical segments, distorted matrix like text in DOS, XP stuck in 4 bit color...I don't know why it's like that even in DOS when you start up, I want to know if it's the motherboard or if it's the videocard that's creating this.

But the weird thing is that sometime I can get lucky after a few reboots, and everything will look fine for a few minutes, but goes back to screwy after next reboot.

I uses SOLTEK SL-75DRV5 and Geforce2 MX400. I've formatted and reinstalled XP, but still ended up with this mess. I already have the latest drivers for the video card, and the BIOS are updated. Also tried plugging computer into different monitor, same situation.

Please help, I have no idea what's going on~
Greatly appreciates all response, thanks~

Hi,

This link might give an insight into the graphics issues: -

Glide API - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Glide wrappers and emulators
Glide emulator development has been in progress since the late 1990s. During 3dfx's lifetime, the company was aggressive at trying to stop these attempts to emulate their proprietary API, shutting down early emulation projects with legal threats.[3] However, just before it ceased operations and had its assets purchased by NVIDIA, 3dfx released the Glide API, along with the Voodoo 2 and Voodoo 3 specifications, under an open source license,[4] which later evolved into an open source project.[5] Although no games released after 1999 depend on Glide for 3D acceleration (Direct3D and OpenGL are used instead), Glide emulation is still needed to run older games in hardware accelerated mode. With the specifications and code now open source, there are several capable emulators and wrappers available allowing older games that make use of the Glide API to run on non-Voodoo hardware. Other projects like Glidos allow even older games to use Glide.

Hi guys

I bought my laptop 4 months ago. It works with AMD Turion 64
Recently, I bought Fifa 2006, but it did not work with my system.
In the" technical support" it says that the minimum requirement of the display memory is 32, but I have 16.

My video card details is:

Name: SiS M760/760GX
Manufacturer: SiS
Chip Type : SiS 760 Rev 00
DAC Type: Internal
Approx. Total Memory: 32 MB
Current Display Mode: 1280 x 800 (32 bit) (60Hz)
What can I do to play that game? Can I develop or change my video card?

about a week ago, i decided to reinstall warhammer: dawn of war. Well, obviously I needed to get the latest patch, and found some website you could download it from. I did so, it is an .exe file. It didnt seem to really work. I then started the game, to find you could just update it through multiplayer, and it worked fine. I quit, then went to delete the file I had downloaded to my desktop. Seemed simple enough, but it wont let me delete it, says its being used by another person/program. this was the case even after a reboot, and uninstalling the game. Finally, i tried booting up in safe mode, thinking for sure i could get rid of it there. No dice. Maybe it's no big deal, but i would like to get rid of it. Also, the fact that it's so difficult to get rid of makes me wonder if its doing something its not supposed to be. I mean its just a patch file, why the hell is it constantly running?

The file name is DOW-140-141 (presumably meaning Dawn of War that patches version 1.40 to 1.41).

strangely enough, i go to properties of this file, and it has 8 tabs, not just the usual 2 or 3 i am used to seeing. all sorts of stuff: general, misc, compatability, program, screen, etc.

Anyone have any ideas?

A:strange problem w/patch file for video game

Big Game Hunter 6 Open Season used to run perfectly on my machine. I don't want to blame my current problem on installing xp sp2, but if I were to guess, the problem started around the same time, not sure though because it's been a couple months. Game loads fine, but within the game video options I can't change the resolution from a bizarre -1x480, and can't change the color depth from 32bit. Game plays but is very jerky, and doesn't show all the on screen menu items.

I'm having a hard time believing it's my video card, because TES Morrowind plays beautifully on my machine. I've tried all different settings for direct3d, my video card, game settings, everything I can think of. I believe all of my drivers are up to date also. I've reinstalled the game several times, reinstalled my video card...I don't know what else to do.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Hiya

As you may already know, by the title, I'm having trouble with the graphics of the game 'Black & White'. Everything like the trees and people, are very WEIRD things like eyes, or colours such as green. I have tried everything that I can think of, like downloading a patch from this website (I think it was voodoo 3DFX tools) unzipped it, then tried it, and it still didn't work. Everything else seems to be running smoothly, and problem-free though. Does anyone know what the cause of this problem ?

Help greatly appreciated, aswell as five million pounds.....

A:video card/graphic card reboot problem

boynamedanurag Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!I read your post about booting and video card problems and wanted to help. So, if I understand what you're saying, you reinstalled Win7 and the PC boots OK, right? But when you then install a video driver and reboot, it does not boot, right? My guess is that you have one of the old DV6 laptops that has two video chipsets, something called Switchable Graphics.  And the problem with that is that only the HP OEM video drivers will work on that laptop.  IF you install other ones, such as the ones you get from AMD or Nvidia, they will NOT work -- which sounds like what is happening to you. What DOES work is restoring your PC using HP Recovery Media because that will contain the HP OEM drivers.  Media. This is a set of DVDs and a CD, or USB stick, that will erase the hard drive (removing all data, settings, and applications, reinstall the original OS, drivers, and some HP Utilities. In some cases, you may be able to order a USB stick instead of disks.  You have to order these from HP; they can not be downloaded. You can look online for Recovery Media starting with the linked paged: http://support.hp.com/us-en/driversOnce there, input your Product name or number. On your Software and Drivers Download page, select your Operating System and and Version. Hi All

I have a medion laptop, running  32bit version of Windows 7 ultimate, 160GB Hard Drive & 1Meg Ram. It ran fine for about a year after upgarding from Windows Vista to the above system about a year ago.

All was fine until I installed some Nvidea updates whicxh kind of came as auto/recommenended updates.

Now when I turn the computer on it loasd ok in normal mode but I have 4 small screens running length ways, (left to right) both at log in & once I've logged on which I can just about do.

I have tried the following;
1. unistalling the updates
2 also did a system restore back to before I installed the updates but tha then re-installed the updates.

The computer work fine except for the above it will update with windows etc Nortons all no problem, but I cant see what im doing too well!

Also another thing that happens is that the standy is greyed out & even if I go in settings & try to change this I cant.

Im dont thing the system isnt loading up 4 times...& my other thought is it maybe something to do with screen settings but just a guess...?

I can connect a external H/D & this will work on via the USB port but also get 4 views as per above.

I attach the screen shot, I've been trying for a month to solve this & feel its something relatively simple if someone has the expertise!

Many Thanks in advance!!

Dave

Hey out there,

I came upon this site via Google and saw a "thread" from Brenda about the Legos Star Wars game and a graphic card that supports Pixel Shaders v1.1. I read some of the responses which prompted me to visit the Toshiba webpage. I downloaded the detailed specifications for my laptop but I still can't figure out if I have PCI card or AGP card port. I tried to put the information into the designated slots for the registration profile but there is not enough room. I am a Mom of a 10 yr old who was given this game for his birthday in June. I have just finally come upon this website mentioning the same problem. Our laptop is not very old, maybe 2 years. Any help in directing me where to look on these specs for the card info. I need would be greatly appreciated. I see it says expandability "1 PC Card slot support 1 Type II PC card". Is that what I'm looking for? Hey, I email and can find things I need on the web but games are beyond me. I'm just trying to see if I can get this Lego game working without having to buy a new computer.

Thanks for your time and comments.

Kathleen

We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine. If you have uploaded DMPs before please only the new ones.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.
To ensure minidumps are enabled:

* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
* Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
* OK your way out.
* Reboot if ... Read more

Ok, I have read everything I can find and I feel like my head is spinning. I just received a game for my son (Zoo Tycoon 2) we have been playing the demo from the web site and had accidently purchased marine mania and dino digs first. Now I am trying to start it and I don't have the proper graphic card. I have Intel 82810E. The message I get from thier "help menu" says - Intel 82810E - due to limitations with direct X compliance of these graphics chips the game will not start. Driver updates do not resolve issue. Which is true after reading one of the top threads that says to read before posting, I tried all those things and nothing worked. I guess I have to buy or download a new graphic card? I don't know much about computers so my question is - can I find a site, like this one or majorgeeks where I can download a more updated graphic card or is this something that actually has to be purchased and installed in my computer "physically"?

Hi.

PC is 3/4 years old with new PSU and HDD in use.
PC was fine after new hardware install.

Had my graphics card OCed for a while (1 year) and had no problems with gaming until about 1 month ago
to which i started getting freezes playing World of warcraft.

I have stopped OCing but this hasnt effected anything.
These freezees still occur in game only but BSOD's happen randomly no matter what.

These BSOD's have only just started.

I haven't ran any tests yet as i wanted to ask for your opinion first with my crash result.

Updated my ATI drivers but had no effect.

Thanks in advance.

I just got a clean bill of health on my computer a week ago, but the issues going on with my computer have worsened to the point where I thought another thread might be worthwhile.

As of this past week, I'm experiencing choppy streaming on videos, and a noticeable lag rate on frames on video games. It's gotten to the point where youtube videos have difficulty streaming and are of extremely poor quality. Since it's choppy on videogames - and not ones I connect to the internet to play or play online - I know it can't possibly be my ISP or wireless connection. I'm still experiencing a slow shutdown and an even slower boot-up as well, and the space just below my keyboard feels hot to the touch. Are my video drivers going, or is it something else? Still a Compaq laptop running Windows 7.

I'm looking to be able to take screenshots and/or video of video games off my television and save them on my PC. I am pretty uninformed about technical aspects of computing so go easy on me please. My questions are:

1. What will I need to hook everything up properly? My current HDTV has PC input but I have no clue how I would run a game console through one TV input when the PC input is different - do I need to hook the console up directly to my computer somehow?
2. What software do I use? Is there any FREE software that allows me to do this?

Maybe I'm missing something and there's an easier way altogether?

Once again, please excuse my ignorance.

Thanks

What does the label on your power supply say as to brand, model, and wattage? What amount of memory is installed? Does it have integrated video on the motherboard, or a weaker video card now?
That machine will handle a pretty good video card, but not the top end models, because the power supply is not designed for the high tech units.... but it should still handle a number of second tier video cards by ATI or nVidia.
