Bluetooth device not in device manager, no hardware switch, Acer netbk

Q: Bluetooth device not in device manager, no hardware switch, Acer netbk

Model is Acer Aspire One D270.
Internal bluetooth doesn't work.
Nothing in device manager.
Fn+F3 is meant to control it, but doesn't.
May be because I've messed with some programs.
Trying to re-install to factory settings.
Any suggestions at all?

edit: The machine is Win7 baby (starter?), x86_32.

Preferred Solution: Bluetooth device not in device manager, no hardware switch, Acer netbk

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

What programs did you remove or mess with? Have you tried repairing these programs?

Hi there I did a clean install of Windows 10 several months back. All is working perfectly fine. However, Bluetooth does not appear in Device Manager (including when hidden devices are shown):  This hasn't bothered me up to now, because I never had a requirement to use Bluetooth since I purchased this laptop back in 2012. However, now I do... 1)  Have tried installing the Atheros Bluetooth 8 and 8.1 drivers from Acer Support>Drivers & Manuals. Still no luck (FYI there are no Windows 10 drivers supported for V3-571) 2) Because of the above I tried installing the driver for V3-572 (some people have recommended elsewhere for other issues with Acer models not supported with W10 drivers) - unfortunately this did not work. I installed the below only.  All the above install did was update my wireless network adapter driver? Bluetooth still did not appear in device manager. Can anyone help? I must add that Bluetooth does not appear via the W10 menu either:  But greyed out Bluetooth option does appear via notifications>actions menu pop up (unable to activate, probably because there's no apparent driver according to device manager):  I know that that the obvious answer will be "Your Acer Aspire model is not supported with drivers for W10, therefore there may be some compatibility issues", but surely someone out there must have my model (or older), be using W10 and still be able to use Bluetooth? Many thanks... I don't have your system. But I know that with the Nov Release of 10, My bluetooth don't work anymore either. When 10240 was released there was no issues. However with the November 10586 after the update it said Sorry this bluetooth wasn't compatible and was removed.  I tried to reinstall the Wireless/Bluetooth Driver but bluetooth still away. Lucky my Wireless part still working....  Maybe it could be the same thing with yours. Or maybe if you give your Wireless/Bluetooth model maybe there is others that have info about a good Driver for your system James PS. Not all systems have everything that is listed in the Drivers list of Acers website. It could be that yours didn't come with the Bluetooth Part

A:Where sould my Bluetooth hardware be listed in Device Manager?

BT shows up in the DM only when enabled. There should be a switch to enable it. I have it in my lappy, once enabled, it showed in my DM. Before that, no trace of it.

Also check whether you have installed the drivers. Try re-installing them.

i have installed the correct driver for this belkin bluetooth usb dongle model: F8T012XX1

but in device manager, it has the belkin device and microsoft bluetooth enumerator, which is great. but when u get further down the list. it has a tab named "other devices" and then a subtab with "bluetooth peripheral device" which has an exclemation mark on it.

i have searched for driver software using the update service but it cant find no update.

i have looked for the name of the manufacturer but found nothing.

i then disabled the unknown device, and sent a picture to my mobile phone. which confirmed that it was not the belkin bluetooth device. so i uninstalled the unknown device, restarted the computer. then when i logged in, it said that it had found a new device and wanted me to find the CD that came with it..

i would be greatful if any1 could help me on this..

thanks in advance

Recently I tried to pair a bluetooth mouse with my T450s and... failed. Perplexingly the bluetooth device doesn't appear in device manager at all.I've reinstalled the intel bluetooth and wifi drivers multiple times.I've checked all drivers and bios are upto date.I've gone into the bios and enabled/disabled bluetooth to try and 'kick' it into life, all made no difference.I've even replaced the wifi card with an AC-8265 and experimented with swapping the antenna. Even after all that (with the current state being the antenna's the right way around and bluetooth enabled):There is no bluetooth device in window device manager. There is no 'unknown' or other device in device manager. The windows BT troubleshooter says:  "device does not have bluetooth"I've even tried booting up an ubuntu live cd and that can't find any bluetooth either. What am I missing?  Is there some other switch that would disable bluetooth?

I am experiencing the following issue:
All bluetooth items have desappeared from the Notificaion area, the Device Manager as well as from the service.msc.
It occured after a driver updates perfomed with the installation of the following driver from Toshiba support website:
"Bluetooth Filter Driver Package
Windows 7 - 64 Bit 17.1.1523.1299
I did this update because I was strugguling to connect UE BOOM2 speaker and the Mbot Ranger robot.

So it is not possible for me to connect any bluetooth periferal devices anymore.
I have tryied many things to recover the bluetooth material, including drivers updates with "Driver Navigator" tool and Bios update via Toshiba website, but without any success.

I have attached the current Device Manager Screen shoot version.
I have also attached the CCleaner current screen shoot version in witch I still can see only one related Bluetooth item listed.
I have attached the Aida Hardware report of my computer hopping it could help.

My computer:

I have a Dell XPS M1210 laptop that I have recently upgraded to Windows 7. Everything went great with the upgrade with the exception of the internal Bluetooth module.

I have Vista on another drive and installed it into my laptop to test to see if the module is working. The bluetooth works fine and I am able to couple devices.

I have checked the BIOS and the setting for the Bluetooth show it present and enabled.

I do not see Bluetooth in my Windows 7 Device manager. As expected, I cannot couple devices.

The Device Manager rescans when I turn the Bluetooth on with the switch on the laptop but does not appear.

I have downloaded the Broadcom Setup Module but it does not see it either.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Bluetooth capability is totally missing on this laptop.  Bluetooth does not show up in Device manager.  It is not detected as a missing driver when running a device analyzer.  What can I do to get bluetooth capability on this computer?

A:Bluetooth Missing from Device Manager

Hi:Below is the link to the product specifications page for your model. http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-17-f000-Notebook-PC-series/6936220/model/7242209/doc... It does not come with built in bluetooth networking, or that feature would have been listed along with the 1x1 802.11b/g/n WLAN wireless connectivity specification. There would be two ways to add bluetooth... The hard way...replace the internal Realtek 8188EE wireless card with the Realtek RT8723BE 802.11bgn 1x1 Wi-Fi + BT4.0 Combo Adapter for HP Pavilion 17 Notebook    HP Part # 753077-005. That will require extensive disassembly of the notebook. Consult the service manual...chapter 6 for the wlan card R&R procedures. http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04402649 The easy way...purchase an external usb bluetooth adapter. I use this one for example. https://www.amazon.com/Kinivo-BTD-400-Bluetooth-4-0-USB/dp/B007Q45EF4

I bought a new Bluetooth device today only to find out that I can't get it to connect to my desktop due to the fact that Bluetooth just flat out isn't working on my computer.

In device manager there is no blue "B" denoting that it is even installed. If I go to Devices in my settings there is no Bluetooth option in the left pane. However, if I go to Notification Center I see a Bluetooth option there (which took a bunch of work just to make that show up there), clicking on it takes me to the Devices screen where I can attempt to connect a device, however no devices are found when trying to pair a device.

I'm at a loss here, this seems to be a relatively common issue which I've been unable to find a fix for (watched a bunch of videos, read a bunch of sites claiming to have a fix). Does anyone have any definitive ideas? This is a clean Win 10 install, not an upgrade and I've already tried repairing/uninstalling/reinstalling the Intel Wireless Bluetooth software.

Hi: Didn't you have to plug in a little USB thing for the wireless and keyboard to work? They don't normally run off the PC's bluetooth radio. The USB dongle is the wireless device that works with those. All PC's with Windows have Bluetooth services, whether or not the PC actually has bluetooth hardware. If you don't see a bluetooth radios icon in the device manager listing, then your PC does not have built in bluetooth networking. The easiest thing to do would be to puchase an external usb bluetooth adapter. I use this one on my HP business desktop PC and it works for what I use it for. https://www.amazon.com/Kinivo-BTD-400-Bluetooth-4-0-USB/dp/B007Q45EF4 Since your PC is a Configured to Order (CTO) model, there are no specs that indicate whether your specific build has it or not. It could have come with built in bluetooth networking on some models. http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-Elite-HPE-100-Desktop-PC-series/4079700/model/412462... The only other suggestion I can offer would be to enter the product number of your PC in the part surfer website at the link below, and see what parts came with your PC.  Sometimes the part surfer will give exact info, and sometimes it will list all possible options. The product number of your PC can be found on the same sticker as the serial number. http://partsurfer.hp.com/search.aspx

I have a MSI GT70 2OD, I have not really ever used bluetooth, so im not sure how long I have had the problem.
Running Windows 8.1 and everything updated. My computer does not seem to realize that it has bluetooth. The computer has the Killer Bigfoot Doubleshot Lan/Wlan/Btooth card. When I look in device manager there is no bluetooth, and i guess therefor no option in windows to toggle on/off bluetooth.

In the details tab of task manager there is a btvstack running and if I go to my bluetooth folder location I can run bttray.exe and have that running in details tab, however the tray icon does not appear.

I have looked quite a bit to find that it seems to be quite a common problem and not specific to MSI however cannot find a clear solution.

Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Thanks in Advance.

I accidently un-installed the Bluetooth device driver from my computer. Im using LG ultrabook with windows 8.1 installed. is there any way to re-install the Bluetooth driver?

A:Accidently uninstall bluetooth device manager

Open Device Manager, then right click on <computername> at the very top and select 'Scan for hardware changes' from the context menu.

Failing that, go to View > Show Hidden Devices, then look for any residual Bluetooth devices. If there are any, remove them all. Right click on each and select Uninstall. Once their all removed, click 'Scan for hardware changes'

Alternatively, visit the LG Driver Downloads page and download the Bluetooth drivers for your specific model. Make sure the model number is correct to the letter.

Sorry if this is the wrong forum. Wasn't clear to me which one was correct.

I have the ASUS Rampage IV Extreme motherboard. One of its features is onboard Bluetooth.

I have it enabled in BIOS. I flashed my BIOS to the latest version, I updated my chipset to the latest driver. I installed the latest Bluetooth driver. I started Bluetooth Support Service in Windows Services.

I've tried disabling Bluetooth in BIOS then enabling it.

I have never once seen anything in my computer that hinted at Bluetooth whatsoever. No Bluetooth Radios in Device Manager or anything Bluetooth related.

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
ASUS Rampage IV Extreme

I have never tried to use it so I don't know if it ever worked before, but I have no system restore points set anyway, so that test isn't viable.

A:Bluetooth not working or showing up in Device Manager

It looks like a lot of people are having this problem with that motherboard.

One solution was to remove and reconnect the Bluetooth dongle from the motherboard port after installing the driver (yes it is removable, but it clips into the port).

Another was to make sure that the Bluetooth service was enabled in Windows.

Another solution that worked was posted by Necrosan over at ROG:"You need to install AI Suite II - specifically the Mobilink component - on your PC. (You can obtain the most recent version from the R4E ASUS website.)
Turn on bluetooth, pair the phone, open RC bluetooth, hit menu->devices. Choose previously paired device.
At this point it should "just work" if you are about 1-3 feet away from your computer. Any more distance than that and you likely will experience issues. (Yes, the range really does suck this bad.)

I just tested these exact instructions and they worked fine. Feel free to ask any follow up questions.
Enjoy. "
But I think that last one was only if it shows up in Device Manager but does not connect. Can't be sure.

Hi: A couple of suggestions... 1. Update the HP Bluetooth driver to the final version for W7... This package contains the software required to support the HP Integrated Module with Bluetooth Wireless Technology in supported notebook models running a supported operating system. I'm trying to get my SIXAXIS wireless controller to work with my laptop, but I am unable to find "Bluetooth radio" under my device manager. Is there a way to install these drivers? Or are they supposed to be native with windows?

I'm using Windows XP SP2.

A:Bluetooth Radio not showing in device manager

You might be able to get it to work using a USB cable. Bluetooth drivers are not native to XP

I've had Windows 7 installed for ages but just recently it has started doing something weird

When I start it up it doesn't recognise both my network card & USB ports(both on motherboard)

They are in the device manager wlth the yellow marks beside them, if I disable/enable them the work fine and the mark goes away.

But next time I do a restart it happens again.

any advice would be usefull

A:Loosing hardware in device manager

The yellow marker means corrupted, go to the website and install new.

Get a new Graphics card and get updated driver.

Dont forget about the driver.

I have a Dell Precision m60. It recently went bonkers on me. It first would only reboot in safedrive. When it did, it would not allow me to do safe with Internet. I tried sys restore. It went through the steps loading files and such, then said it was unable to restore. Then, while I was reading various message boards and spotted my first problem, my 'BOOT.INI' in my sys config was checked for safeboot. I have NO idea how. I never change that. First question is, HOW could that have happened? I was getting prompting to update AOL just b4 this whole mess started. It would appear to update, then AOL wouldn't start. After I changed the 'safeboot,' it starts normal, but, the device manager doesn't show any hardware. On occasion the CD drive works. The programs run as b4, but no networking available. I have surfed many boards and still no go. PLEASE help.

Kinda sounds as if you may be infected with some type of malware/spyware.
