Toogle keys keeps turning on everytime I restart laptop (I change the sign in settings as well each time)

Q: Toogle keys keeps turning on everytime I restart laptop (I change the sign in settings as well each time)

So I am having trouble with this toogle key thing. I turned in on by mistake a few weeks ago (great mistake). Probelm is from then onwards, when ever I turn it off it activates again after I restart my computer.
I looked online and read that I have to change the "sign- in settings'' so that It doesn't turn on my toogle keys whenever I restart my laptop. I did thta hoping it would fix the issue, however it is still happening.
After I reset everything (ease of access + sing in settings) and restart my laptop it turns everything on again. It even resets my sing in settings so that y tootgle keys turn on afater restart (even though I change it everytime).
I am now out of solutions and HATE THE ANNOYING TOOGLE KEY SOUND. I really just want help disabling it for good. can anyone help?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

After installing the anniversary update of Win 10, each time I power on I must use the restart command to get the keyboard to light up and for the wireless and bluetooth functionality to work.  Without doing so the keybaord remains dark and the light on wifi button remains orange with no functionality.

I plugged my iPod into my laptop and iTunes started to crash, it sounded like a cd skipping. I left it for a few mins expecting it to sort itself out but it didn?t, so I held down the power key to turn it off.
When it restarted everything on the desktop had disappeared and the Background was its original Toshiba one.

I was worried that all my data had been wiped but I managed to access my docs etc through C drive. I sorted everything out, and reinstalled the programs it had uninstalled but when I restarted it again it had happened again!
I have absolutely no idea what to do to sort this prob out :(

Please help!

A:Satellite Pro restores all settings to default everytime I restart it

Sounds like the file system may be corrupted.

Go to a Command Prompt and type:

If it still happens, then Windows may be restoring back to a previous state. You might want to try disabling System Restore temporarily to sort out the problem:

Turn off system restore
backup your iTunes Music Folder to another HDD
uninstall itunes
log into your usual Windows User Account
Re-enable System Restore (just in case the programs you are installing are causing a problem, such as a major BSOD or data corruption)
Reinstall your missing programs and iTunes

Hi, so I just got my new Yoga 910, and wanted to change the settings so the F keys are default and me not needing to press Fn. I found a lot of posts on the forum, where people got it working by having the latest BIOS and Lenovo Settings app from the store. I have the exact same installed, latest bios and settings app. But my input setting screen is just empty, it shows three loading spinners when loading the inputs setting page, but then just goes empty. See attached screenshot.    Anyone else experiencing this? I have updated Windows and all the drivers, also tried uninstalling the settings app and reinstalling, but that did not help either. Hope someone can help.. -- Christian

I've searched everywhere for a solution to this and found nothing remotely close to what my problem.

I have a laptop (ASUS UL50VT) and i normally have it on my desk connected to a really basic wired mouse (logitech m100). However sometimes I like to move the laptop around for a few minutes and put it back on my desk so I would have to disconnect the mouse and when I reconnect it nothing happens. The computer does not many any noise or show any notification or change in any way in device manager. The laptop light does turn on however. I tried going to device manager and using "Scan for hardware changes" and it just stays stuck at "Scanning for plug and play compliant hardware" forever. Restarting my laptop always fixes the problem but it gets really annoying; there must be something wrong here.

This problem also seems to be happening to my iphone. Tried plugging it in and nothing happens but the weird part is when the phone dies it starts charging! Until it turns back on and then the phone stops charging and the computer still doesn't do anything when I plug it in.

Im in dire need of some help before my pc goes bang!

I guess you will require my specs. Is there a way of quickly finding all my pc specs?

So the problem... The computer was accidentally shut down using the dreaded sleep button on the keyboard. The only way to restart it is to reboot it. After reboot, I was greeted with the asus splash screen thing which never normally shows. Once the computer booted, the time and date were reset.

It seemed a little slower at this time but not much. This was a few days ago. Now when I start the computer it takes around 5 minutes to boot, instead of 20 seconds as it used to be. It freezes at the windows loading screen and the monitor actually goes into standby stating "no input" after a couple of minutes it comes back on and I can unput my password. I know its not just the screen as when the screen comes on, the windows tune plays, so I know it has only just loaded.

Any help would be hugely appreciated!

Is it possible to quickly change the function key default on the XPS 15 laptop ? Actually, I know you can switch from function keys to multimedia keys by modifying the BIOS settings or by using the "Windows Mobility Center" but it's not really convenient : when I want to do the switch, I need to first press the shortcut to the mobility center, then change the combo box to either multimedia or function.
Is there a way to assign a shortcut for this operation ? For example, by using the "Dell Instant Launch Manager" to run a command line so as to be able to do the switch by a single key press ?

So recently I turned on my computer (Acer Aspire V5 122-P) and went to change the brightness. And using the FN keys and changing the brightness returns the same value rather than chaning it. I would like a fix as I need long battery life and this is causing exsessive battery drain. (I would also prefer not to do anything too dangerous as I use it everyday for College as the unit is still in Warenty) Looking around the internet I am thinking it is a Graphics issue but move this if its in the wrong thread.

Hi all, my HP laptop has recently acquired a quirky trait that is rapidly becoming a pain in the ***. You'll have to bear with me, as I'm not the most tech savy person so go easy on your answers

In the morning, I turn the laptop on, it works just fine. If however, it suspends or shuts down later on (at any point during the day), it will not restart unless at least half an hour has passed. If I attempt to turn it on, all the lights turn on, the dvd/cd drive clicks, the fan starts running, but there is no processor activity and the screen stays black. After about 10 seconds, it will turn off and on again, it will keep doing this about 5-10 times and then eventually just turns off.

There have also been times where the laptop turns back on after a certain period of time, but once it reaches windows, the screen goes all funky in a zig zag pattern and the whole computer must be restarted.

It seems that it has to sit around for at least half an hour inorder to be able to be restarted. What else changes over time besides temperature and charge? Could it be a electrical discharge problem? Help! (and thanks in advance!)

Its 3 year old HP pavillion dv6000
AMD processor and Windows XP, I forget all the other specs, apologies

A:Laptop wont restart after suspending, it needs time to chill

Welcome to TSG mosquitoChris! Too bad your first post is this problem!

This is a hardware problem of some type, not likely to be electical discharge. Could be power supply. Sounds like something is getting hot and failing.

Right click on My Computer and go to manage. Go to the Event Viewer and look around at the Errors and Warnings especially around the times it shuts down. I would start with System log. Another thing that sometimes helps trouble shoot is: My Computer right click for "properties", Advanced (tab), Startup and Recovery button. Go there and turn off "restart automaticly" and leave the logging and alert options on.

I'm guessing the Video Card since you mentioned 'zig zag' lines in your description. The bad thing about laptops (opposed to towers) is you can't easily swap out components to troubleshoot.

I assume its no longer under warranty? Even if you do identify the culprit fixing the component is no easy task on the laptop....

Stupid question alert:
Is it possible for a person using my windows xp laptop to change settings on my vista desktop , when they have never touched the desktop?

A:Change desktop settings from laptop?

You might be able to do that with Remote Desktop. Not totally sure, just a hunch. I can instruct you on how to disable Remote Desktop if you like. It enables another Windows user to log in to a different machine and use it as if he or she were actually in front of the remote machine. It can be super-handy, but also a security risk.

The other possibility is an infection.

Two questions:

1. This first one is a question about what two registry keys do. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SYSTEM > CurrentControlSet > services > Tcpip > Parameters > DNSRegisteredAdapters > *Corresponding NIC*. What are the Flags, and RegisteredSinceBoot
keys? What do they do?
2. I attempt to change the values of these keys. They go back to their original values if I restart, log in, or run ipconfig /registerdns.

Here is some background. I am on an IT engineering, and I have been looking into a DNS issue we have had for quite some time. The issue is that our AD DNS server records do not update for about half of our machines. We have timestamps dating back a couple of
months (I know, I know, scavenge. The team in charge of that is in the process of getting that set). I have been looking into a multitude of things to ensure all computers' DNS records update.

In my testing, I have checked several machines and notice that those keys mentioned above have the values of- flags = 2, and registeredsinceboot = 1. On the computers that aren't updating their values are 0. I have attempted to change to 2 and 1 on a computer
that isn't updating, but the values always revert back to 0.

Perhaps the issue we are seeing isn't related at all to the keys presented, but if you can help me identify the purpose of these keys, and how to save the values if changed, that would be greatly appreciated. At least for testing purpose.

This is problably a basic question however I am thinking of buying a new laptop.

The laptop comes with windows7, however I am buying the laptop in a european country, I am assuming that when I take it out of the box that I will do a clean install of windows 7 and as such will be able to choose english as the language instead of the language of the country that I am buying the laptop in.

Is this the case?

Thanks in advance.

A:Can I change language settings with new laptop clean install

Windows 7 Home Premium, From what i have experience you will be able to chose region, language and keyboard format at the setup stage. Once windows setup is complete and done it's not possible anymore unless you have Ultimate. I know i can download optional language packs if i need to. Professional might also have the option.

Please wait for someone else to give a confirmation. From my own experience i been able to change language to Spanish on US bough laptops.

Download a utility called BlueScreenView and install if you can. This is a great freeware utility and it allows you to see the name of the system driver or file associated with the minidump information created when your computer crashed.

If you can, post the name of the file associated with the C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini092609-01.dmp information noted in the error message you posted. In the main window after you run BlueScreenView, it should tell you what file caused the crash directly to the right of the dump file name.

From the research that I have done so far, 1000007e errors are associated with older versions of driver files used under Windows Vista (i.e.: an older version of Nero which worked fine under XP and you try it under Vista - it crashes.)

I am running windows xp operating system.

For some reason, I have to keep restarting my computer. every time I open a new program. For example. When I turn my PC on. I can get on the internet just fine. But if I close out, I cannot get back on the internet. Or open up any other programs on my computer.

Same thing happens when I play a game. If I close it out. I can not Re-Open it. I have to MANUALLY restart my computer in order to open up something new. And I can only open up one window.

I also have a difficult time shutting down and restarting my computer. I keep hitting, Windows, U twice. And it never works. I even do it with the mouse. It doesn't work.

How should I fix these problems??

I have ran a system scan, everything came out negative.

I have also ran a registry cleaner on it. And everything turned out negative.

Please email me ASAP.

I run my computer in Safe Mode. Everything works fine.

I'm curious to find out if there's any computer performance advantage to using an HDMI cable to drive an external monitor from my laptop VS driving the external monitor via VGA cable. Also, if I set the color depth setting to 16bit instead of some higher value, seems like that should speed things up, etc.

Can you recommend a good software that can let me see what differences there are in computer performance as I vary these settings?

A:SW to test how laptop performance varies when I change graphic adapter settings

I activated by Bluetooth toggle switch ON/OFF to ON a few weeks ago and now use Bluetooth to connect successfully to my Iphone. But I have just noticed that the ON/OFF switch has now disappeared so I do not have the option of turning Bluetooth OFF again should I want too.

See screenshot showing Bluetooth Working fine but missing Toggle Switch.

Any suggestions on getting back that switch.
