Java Plugin error [possibly permissions error?]

Q: Java Plugin error [possibly permissions error?]

I am on an administrator account... Windows XP Professional. I have JRE 5.0 update 8 installed, yet when I try to go to websites that use it with either Mozilla Firefox 1.5.0.8 or with Internet Explorer, it tells me 'you need to install this plugin'...

OK so I click install, and it starts an install [JRE 5... update 6 or 7, different half the time] but then it tells me "You already have this installed". So I hit refresh, and it asks me to install it again... its driving me nuts... Please help!

Preferred Solution: Java Plugin error [possibly permissions error?]

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Java Plugin error [possibly permissions error?]

OK Update...

when I try to open the 'Java Plugin control panel' in control panel, I get this error:

cannot find 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment\1.5.0_05'

so it appears maybe i'm missing a registry entry...

can anyone help?

Hi,

I'm running Vista and trying to update my Java plugin for internet browsing (Firefox and Chrome...but I don't think this is relevant).

I try the install and get Error 1723: Problem with this windows package installer. A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run.

I've seen fixes for other Windows OS's using the wrong install - but that is not the case here/

Many thanks.

Hi,

I've having a few problems that apparently may be related.

1) Vista Backup stops with Catastrophic error 0x8000FFFF.

2) A search on error 0x8000FFFF says that it may have something to do with Java.

3) Java's site says that I don't have Java installed.

4) Downloading Java ends with a Java error 25099, the zip file wont unzip properly?

5) Explorer closes down frequently and has to re-start.

6) Java is in the "Program files" but not registered in Control Panel un-install programs?

So, what does all this mean and what can I do about it?

How do I find out if I have Java working on my PC? Why wont the Java download unzip?

The only option I can see is to un-install Java from Program Files manually, do a Registry Repair and then start over with trying to install Java again.

I'll do this but I thought that someone may know something else about this that would be important to know.

So, does anyone know anything else about this and what to do?

Thanks,

John

Hi,
So lately my Chrome has been crashing in flash with "We lost Jim memory message", running out of memory? I ran some virus scanners and found nothing, then while browsing some sites i get redirected to Outdated Java Plugin Detected. So i ran a google search on this problem and some of the software recommended was Spyhunter 4. After installing the software it found several malware on my system, but could not remove anything since it's paid. Long story short, my printer stopped printing, all i get is blank pages, no idea if Spyhunter caused that and i keep getting outdated java plugin detected redirection on some pages i visit regularly, how do we start?

Here's what I believe is the culprit:

http://www.arikfr.com/blog/facebook-virus.html

and the error message i got after i downloaded it was Runtime Error 21 at 00DC49D2 (ncsjapi43.exe)

Now I can't install iTunes because of this:

Or Oblivion because of this

Now, I believe those two problems are linked and have something to do with the facebook virus which i have not gotten rid of.

My PC works fine, i was able to do system restore in Safe Mode at the time of the Runtime error but I don't recall running any Command Prompts.

My guess is that it's a really bad registry problem.

Can someone help me figure this out and walk me through it? Perhaps via MSNmessenger, skype, or AOL or on here? Many thanks.

Please help

DLL GB PLUGIN error on start up
Hi there everyone, good to meet you - this is my first thread so here goes !...

I've seen a similar thread put up a few days ago but as this is a different error message, I'm not sure whether the same solution will apply.

Every start up results in this error message:

" Error loading C:\Program files\GbPluggin\gbiehdst.dll"
The specific module could not be found.

AVG 8 doesn't pick anything up. I've run run a registry fix with CCleaner ( allowed it to fix all problems it found) and kept a back up and also deleted an improcserver 32 key that may have been a virus - nothing has changed. I have now restored the 32 key. ( by the way - I have no idea what this key is or what its for, I just came across these instructions in a thread somewhere)

I'm not sure what the problem is. Should I use Hijack - what is it and is it necessary?
OS is XP.
Any ideas?

Many thanks

A:Quicktime Plugin error help

I was going to suggest you uninstall quicktime and install quicktime alternative instead, but I just noticed Apple seems to have requested all links to that great program to be removed.
http://codecguide.com/
I hate it when they do that... but hey, it's their right
I haven't yet found statements that it had been judged illegal so you can still try to find quicktime alternative elsewhere (they still have it on free-codecs.com). Any moderator remove this line if you find it goes against the forum rules.

What's your current version of QuickTime ? Since when do you have that problem ? Were you able to play those videos correctly before ?

Alrighty. See, when I go to Aethereality.net, and I go to view their gallery, a BUNCH of their images are broken links. I tagged at the board, and saw that others were experiencing this as well. They were all told to update cookies, and I didn't quite know how to do that. So, I tried to update java, for her images work through java. And well, that didn't quite work out so well.

You see, my laptop was telling me of how there was a java update, so I clicked on it, and when I told it to install, it didn't. I found that rather odd, and I simply don't know why it's doing that. Also, when I downloaded LimeWire, THAT wouldn't work because my Java isn't updated. When I click on the java icon, nothing happens. I deleted LimeWire because that refused to open now, as well.

A friend of mine told me to delete java, then reinstall that. However, that attempt failed miserably. I tried to reinstall it, but it didn't work.

Now onto opening 'My Music'. It's not just with 'My Music', but with 'My Documents', 'My Computer', etc etc. When the 'report error' message comes up, I click 'Debug', and it opens again. I mean, that's the easy way out, but I want it stopped for good.

I've run Norton AntiVirus, and Ad-Aware. I'm clean, as far as they say.

Can anyone help me?

A:Plugin Error, Adobe Reader 7

Older versions could be fixed by: Open Adobe Acrobat Reader and then go to Edit > Preferences > General >. In that box under Options, uncheck "Allow Fast Web View" and click OK at the bottom. Then go back to your browser. The pdf file should load.

This may still apply for V7.

Other problems that have been identified:
* The file does not start with '%PDF' - Some users have reported this error message when opening pdf files through Internet Explorer 4.x, 5.x and 6.x. This problem is not the PDF file, it's a problem between Internet Explorer and Acrobat Reader. We suggest that you save the PDF file before viewing it. This can be done by right clicking on the article title or icon and selecting "Save Target As...".

* Plugin did not initialize properly - This error can appear in All Internet Browsers, causing the PDF file not to show in the browser window. We found two solutions to this problem.
(1) You must have the Adobe Acrobat program running in the background.
(2) You save the PDF file before viewing it (see above).

Hello to everyone!

I am currently experiencing this Java problem that I only encounter when updating my Vuze Bittorrent Client. I am just updating it to newer version but every time I try, the error pops up. The complete error is:

"An error occurred: java.lang.RuntimeException: java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException"

After clicking OK button, the setup ends. And when I re-try to install the update, the Vuze Installation Wizard will show this message:

"The installer did not start up correctly on the last run. This is probably caused by a corrupted Java VM. Do you want to download or manually select the JVM?"

When I choose YES, the installer will download the file but will fail and will show the Java error. When I choose NO, the installer will proceed normally but will show the same Java error.

I manually update my Java to the latest version which is Version 7 Update 45 but problem still persists. I checked my Java version by going to https://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp.

If you have questions, feel free to ask. I need your help on this since I'm a bit cautious when dealing with this Java since I don't know much about it.

Thanks in advance!

A:Java Error : java.lang.RuntimeException when Updating Vuze

Well; first thing i would try is completely uninstalling Java; and then reinstalling it. Then;(make sure any files retrieved from the bit torrent client are backed up if possible) uninstall the bit torrent client and reinstall that. Try these things and report back and we can go from there if not solved.

Hi!

I have 2 downright baffling issues & I hope someone can help me. I'm not very technically savvy, so pardon me if I don't explain things right. Here goes:
I'm running Windows 8, I use Firefox 30.0, TrendMicro Titanium Maximum Security is my AV program, (it uses Windows Firewall Booster, NOT Windows Defender), & IncrediMail 2.0 is my email program. EVERYTHING mentioned is up-to-date, including Flash, Java, etc.Problem 1-I've been watching several 'nest cams', as I follow wildlife development as a hobby. I always used the same sites for live-streaming media from the last week of March 2014 until May 09, when all of a sudden, (while I was watching!), Flash crashed & when I rebooted I got this error message: "Error loading plugin: Plugin file not found"...BUT I only get this error on 4 sites! I can watch streaming media, (including live streaming of the same wildlife cams), on other sites, but I get the plugin error on ONLY 4 sites! I immediately checked my plugins, Windows Update, etc. & everything's updated. I also checked my AV program; I did a complete shutdown & restart of my PC & I got the same result...I can watch streaming media; live cams; music, etc. on all sites...EXCEPT for 4 sites that I'd been watching for months. I ran CCleaner; Malwarebytes; full AV Scan; ran DiskChk; Disk Cleanup & shutdown & restarted my PC & the issue still exists.
I posted this problem on Adobe's Support Forum...they're baffled; I posted on Firefo... Read more

Recently, I installed Outlook Shutdown for my Outlook 2000 program and it works very well.

A minor problem has surfaced and it is that an error message pops up when I exit Outlook.

It is not causing any other problem and I just click "don't send" and it goes away.

I sent it to the author but could not copy the details from the Microsoft error message panel even though I could view them so he did not really get any helpful data from me other than that it was happening.

Anyone else had this problem and solved it?

PS; It is a good program that does what it is supposed to do and still worth installing even with this problem.

Hi,
According to official site of Oracle, This is a known issue with Microsoft KB2918614The root causes of these errors are under investigation. If this error still persists after uninstalled this update.

thanks in anticipation

Try un-installing and re-installing with the latest version of flash.
Flash gets updated quite regularly.

When clicking on a java aplet link it opens to a page that has a small square at the top left that has colored triangle, square and circle in it. The page hangs up, or goes through opening then gives me the error that I have to install the plugin. I know the plugin is installed because I was able to access the aplet previously.

Just try re-installing Java --> if you go to Internet Properties __Under the "General" Tab --> "Settings" button --> "View Objects" button see if you have the Java plug-in makey is broken/corrupte.

I am haveing a problem with pogo games.com. All I get is a blank page when I click on
the bridge game. I have no problem with yahoo games, playsite games. Pogo in an
email to me said I should download java 2 plugin. Is that a good step to make if I'm not having
a problem with the other games? Would downloading java 2 plugin improve overall
performance of my computer? Thanks for any acvice you can offer.

A:java 2 plugin

downloading that shouldn't hurt anything. and it's prolly the only way you'll be able to play that particular game.

what's your OS? if you have XP, make a restore point, naming it Java 2 or something like that. then go ahead and make the change. if you notice a problem then it's easy enough to roll back to pre-install point with your restore point.

I'm assuming you have Firefox portable installed on a flash drive.
You can install any java (or any other update) on your portable and you'll be fine.
I have updated mine and never had a problem.
Hope this is the answer you were after.

A:Possible JAVA Error?, Cannot run any programs requiring JAVA?

You may possibly have adware that you don't know about.

Download AdWareCleaner AdwCleaner Download to your desktop
1.Right-click on adwcleaner.exe and select Run As Administrator to launch the application.
2.Click on Delete button.
3.Confirm each time with OK.
4.Your computer will be rebooted automatically. A text file will open after the restart. Please post the content of that logfile in your reply.
Note: You can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner[Sn].txt as well - n is the order number.

I need to use this site 'ilrn.com.' for homework. I followed the instructions given to configure Java which were:
Go to Start Menu > Java > Configure Java > Security > Edit Site List > Add > Enter http://www.iLrn.com in the dialogue box > OK > Continue > Restore Security Prompts > Restore All > OK Go to Firefox (or other browser) and Click on Accept any prompts. You may be prompted with Allow Java or Allow pop-ups from Java

I've done it on multiple computers and multiple browsers and it still will not work. I was just get a flashing message where the Java applet should load that says something like "Please standby while applet is loading." Then nothing happens. Any advice?

I use internet explorer 11 on windows 10.
I have enabled the add-on java plugin 11.66.2,java plugin 1.8.0.31 and java plugin 11.66.2 (there are no other java plugins in the add-ons)
In the security settings tab I have enabled java applets
I have already several times downloaded and installed the new java version of java.com
When I do an online test (test site which test all the features of the browser) of my browser it says my java plugin is not available and it can not detect my java version.
When I use a site that uses java it returns the java.com to download the new version but downloading the new version is no solution.
The site browsercheck.qualys.com says after a scan that i have java plugin 1.0.8.64
How can I make my java plugin available?

I had wanted to play Alchemy (at MSN games). I got a message that said my java was unstable and I should update. So I did. Then I got directed to the Java Websites where it asked me to Verify my Java Version (like it couldn't do this when it installed?) So I did.

Then got the message that Java plug in 10.21.2 is not installed properly. What was really annoying was I couldn't get rid of this message except by using the End task function. So, how does one install this properly? You would think Java would be a little more helpful in this matter.

If I try to ignore this and play the Alchemy game anyway, I then get the message "Java plug-in detected a JRE collision" Way so helpful. (hope you are detecting my sarcasm here).

Thanks for any help you can give.

OK this is weird, and I have no idea whatsoever on solving it.
Whenever I reach a page that requires Java, say ThinkFree's Power Edit feature (I almost never use it, but just an example), the famous "Plug-in Required to Display All Contents on This Page" yellow bar on the top pops up and says that I need to install Java Runtime Plug-in. So I click on that, go through the installer and it says that automatic installation failed. I click manual install, and go through the Java "drill". It says I have the the "recommended" version and do not need to install.
The pages that require Java still don't work. What is going on?

Hi there,

I'm having several problems here.

1. On my admin account (my normal account), I can't open up my browsers.  When I open them a message to the effect of "firefox has encountered a problem and now must close" comes up, and when I press "Check online for a solution" nothing happens.

2. Window pops up about adobe reader and adobe flash saying " Flashplayerplugin_11_6_602_180.exe application error.  Click OK to terminate"

3. AVG keeps picking up this: C:\Windows\System32\regsvr32.exe, and removing it seems to do nothing (it keeps coming back).

I ran Malewarebytes' anti maleware, and AVG in regular and safe mode, and nothing was found, or at least the problem hasn't been fixed.

In addition, this "Conduit" search engine something-or-another appeared as my firefox homepage.  I disabled the plugin and deleted anything with the word "conduit" that came up in a Local C: search.

Some videos are not working, perhaps all(?) online.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the latest Adobe flash and Adobe reader, and that didn't solve it.

Attached is my HiJackThis report if it helps:

Also, thank you very much!  You guys have been incredibly helpful in the past, and for that, I thank you!

Your log is posted properly here, http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/491632/multiple-problems-flash-player-app-error-regsvr32exe-virus/ no need for a duplicate.

Now that your log is properly posted, you should NOT make further changes to your computer (install/uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc) unless advised by a Malware Removal Team member, nor should you continue to ask for help elsewhere. Doing so can result in system changes which may not show it the log you already posted. Further, any modifications you make on your own may cause confusion for the helper assisting you and could complicate the malware removal process which would extend the time it takes to clean your computer.
From this point on the Malware Removal Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean.
Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response because the Malware Removal Team members are very busy working logs posted before yours. They are volunteers who will help you out as soon as possible. Once you have made your post and are waiting, please DO NOT make another reply until it has been responded to by a member of the Malware Removal Team. Generally the staff checks the forum for postings that have 0 replies as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response there will be 1 reply.
