TECRA M10-130 RAM compatability

Q: TECRA M10-130 RAM compatability

I would like to improve RAM to 8Gb. Specs say is possible. Is it really? Which module is recommended?

Preferred Solution: TECRA M10-130 RAM compatability

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Unfortunately, a while back I lost my links and I never did find all my lost gaming links. I need links to tell me Win2k game compatability and game hacks that will allow me to play games that would otherwise be problematic or impossible to play on Win2k! Can anybody help?

I possess a tecra A10 complete with Windows Vista Business installed (and backed up to an image file using Easeus Todo backup

However I also have access to a Tecra M10 which came with no operating system, although the COA sticker (product key) is likewise for a windows Vista Business.

My question is: would my Windows Vista Business back up from the A10 work on the M10 (ie would it load onto the M10 hard drive and then work properly

If anyone can advise on this matter I would be appreciative please

Best wishes

A:Can I use Tecra A10 OS disk to install OS on Tecra M10?

At first I must say that Toshiba recovery image is created for each notebook model separately and it is 100% created to work on specific model. Why?
Every notebook model has different hardware platform and all drivers, tools and utilities for certain model are part of recovery image. These recovery images are also tested.

Generally speaking if both models have identical hardware platform (hardware parts) it can be used.

Dear forum
The above says it all really.

I see the two look similar, but one is smaller. Are these two models different in other ways please.

A:Difference between Tecra A10 and Tecra M10

Of course the both notebooks are different.
There are different Tecra A10 models and there are different Tecra M10 units.

For example:
Tecra *A10-13B* supports an Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 2,26 GHz CPU and Intel GM45 chipset.

Tecra *A10-1D2* supports an Intel Core 2 Duo T9600 2.80Ghz CPU and Intel GM45 chipset

You can find details about different discontinued notebook models here:
Then you can compare all the hardware parts.

OK, this is a laptop. Unless the laptop has a dedicated pci-e slot like some alienware, you are out of luck. The video is onboard on your system ie you are stuck with what you have.

FWIW laptops are not really for gaming unless they are specifically built as such with better cooling, etc.

Will a fan that is compatible with a pentium D be compatible with a core 2 duo?

A:CPU fan compatability

All heatsink/fan combo (HSF) that are compatible with the socket 775 would be compatible with another chip using the same socket.

So yes, it would be "compatible", in the sense that it would fit.

However, there is still the problem of thermal dissipation.... However, you're lucky in the sense that Pentium Ds probably have a higher thermal dissipation requirement than Core2Duos, so any HSF should work.

Of course, I had to assume you mean HSFs, cos any fan from any PC will be compatible with any other PC if its the same size.

OK, I want to transfer 35mm slides to DVD. I have a slide scanner and a DVD burner. My question is: after putting the pictures on a DVD disk, can I then look at them through a Home DVD player and a TV set?

A:DVD compatability

This will depend on the DVD player - some state they support DVD-R/DVD-RW. Some cheaper ones do not. This is a question you should ask the salesperson and make it clear to him that thats what you want to you it for and you will return it if it doesn't work.

The same thing can be done be done with a CD-R/RW and a home DVD player as well. Also must be supported by the player.

I hope nobody minds, but I have to make sure. I had planned on making a new Pc along time ago, had the items on NewEgg bookmarked and everything, but I didnt have the money. Now that I do I went back to find somethings were deactivated. I did some updating about 10 minutes ago and was wondering if everything was still going to work OK.

Now I'm fairly sure they will, but the problem is, I'm more worried about how they will work. NewEgg reviews are hardly ever good, and I just wanted some confirmation from people who would know more about it.

MOBO: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130223

PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139009

I gues you could try imagining what it would work like, or use some past experience, but just to let everyone know, I need this done by June, and I really dont have all that much money to start with. Already with just the Tower, It's $1006. If anyone could find some good parts for cheaper, that would be great.

Oh, everything else (monitor, mouse, etc) is going to be some extra stuff I plan on buying later. I am getting the Lexa Blackline case, but that's fairly irrelevant.

So many pieces of software and drivers appear to be incompatible with my new Windows 8 computer.

Is there any sort of special mode or some software which will allow me to install them in essentially a "Windows 7" mode or something like that?
I can't use my printer, wireless adapter and certain software.

For software, Right click the shortcut or .EXE file, and press the compatibility tab, check 'run in compatibility mode, and select the OS you want to run it as. Bare in mind, that this method may not always work.

For hardware, I am not too certain. You need Windows 8 compatible drivers; sometimes adding the hardware as legacy hardware on the device manager works however.

I don't think there is any way to default the installation of software/hardware as if you were a Windows 7 PC. You'll have to manually change the compatibility options (or downgrade to Windows 7).

I am looking to build a nice budget PC for Interent and office sort of use. I am looking at using the Asrock N68-S motherboard as I have used one before and it seems ok. I am wondering whether the AMD Sempron 140 AM3 CPU would work in the AM2+ motherboard. I have heard that AM3 are backwards compatable but I am not sure if it is worth risking it. Any idea any one?

Thanks, Jack-O-Bytes

A:AM3 and AM2+ Compatability

The Sempron 140 AM3 (Sargas core) will work with the Asrock N68-S provided you buy the mobo with BIOS 1.50 or higher already installed.

If the BIOS revision is older, you cannot update it because the mobo wouldn't boot unless you have a spare AM2 cpu laying around.

this will b my 1st time at ever putting together the basics for a computer. as i am not old enough 2 get a job the parts i have to do it are limited beacse of prices

i'm lookin 2 buy a new case, mobo and cpu

i have memory and a hdd that should work with this setup. i was just wondering about your thoughts on what i chose and whether the case, mobo and cpu will all work with each other

The case, mobo, and processor you have chosen will work with each other, if that's what you're asking.

Just don't use the generic power supply that comes with the case, spend a bit more for a quality low-end PSU from Antec, Enermax, Thermaltake, etc...

Copy what it says on the label of your memory and post it here, just to confirm that your RAM will work with the mobo.

You need a video card. Unless you have one already, you need to pick one. That motherboard you have chosen has a PCI-E x16 slot and an AGP x8 slot. Get a PCI-E graphics card if you haven't done so already.

Some other parts you didn't mention are DVD/CD drives and case fans. Do you have a CD/DVD drive already?

I didn't lay down any recommendations for the parts that you still need, so just ask if you need some links. Or you can just pick some parts and post it here for our opinions on them.

Best of luck and happy New Year

I am replacing a AM37-MB in my sisters Compaq Presario 6415CL Desktop because of a failed PS2 port. I have obtained a Foxconn K7S741GXMG-6L MB which will fit . I have new DDR 2700 RAM. Foxconn does not list the 2000+ processor, but does list the 2100+/266Mhz, 2200+/266Mhx, and 2400+/266Mhz processors as compatable. A:CPU Compatability with new MB

one problem you are likely to run into is that the exisitng hard drive probably wont boot with the new motherboard. the new board is a SIS chipset. also likely is that after changing to a completely different mobo the compaq recovery CD's wont install on a different set up. (depends on whether or not you have an xp Cd or a "recovery" disk.)

A:DDR Ram Compatability - Help me PLZ

Hey there and welcome to techspot!

Most of the time it is best to use only identical sticks with going with combinations. But as that is not always possible, and identical sticks can be very hard to find most of the time, sometimes you just have to do your best to lower your chances of incompatibility and take a risk.

In your case, if you get another stick of PC2100, there is a good chance it will work. Check with your motherboard maker's website first and see if they have any ram compatibility reports you can look at. Also confirm that your board will work with 256mb sticks.

Good luck!

Hi, I am having a strange problem with my USB portable hard drives. I have thre portables 2 seagates and 1 WD Essentials. Individually all of them are recognized and the transfer speed is pretty decent. My probem occurs is when I try to use two of them at the same time, one will load and display the other will not display and eventually removes itself. I have a P6X58D-E mother board which has two USB 3.0 ports on the back of my PC. My controller is Renesas Electronics USB 3.0.

I must also add I can use any of my three above portable drives and a usb stick 3.0 stick with no problem at all, the the problem seems to be only with my system not allowing me to have two portable drives running at the same time.

I can also run a portable usb 3 direct from its port whilst plugging the other two into usb 2.0 ports, again no problem all drives show.

My Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 Host Controller driver version is and my firmware version is 3034

Greatly appreciate any help to solve this most annoying problem.

A:USB 3.0 Compatability

Hi nIxIe,

Technically, your motherboard has two USB controllers the Renesas/NEC? USB 3.0 controller (2 x USB 3.0 ports) and the Intel? ICH10R controller (8 x USB 2.0 ports). It is possible that the USB 3.0 controller is unable to handle the power demand of those 2 external hard drives to simultaneously work at the same time. Thus, plugging those portable HDDs to the USB 2.0 controller doesn't have problems since the controller handles 8 USB 2.0 ports and is able to manage the power demand of those 2 external drives to work at the same time.

Thank you for you time.

The fan is not for that type of CPU socket; and its very loud.
This one is compatible and much quieter: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=35-150-010&depa=0

The CPU is starting to get old but it is sufficient for todays needs.
Here's one thats considerable faster and doesn't cost too much more: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=19-103-506&depa=0

The PC2700 (333Mhz) RAM now matches the FSB of the CPU so its good.

Hard drive is fine. Case is fine, the powersupply isn't of the greatest quality but it should be OK. It is at least 450 Watts.

You still need a video card, and an optical drives.
