Solved: Internet Explorer 7 beta 3 MAJOR page-caching problem

Q: Solved: Internet Explorer 7 beta 3 MAJOR page-caching problem

So I have Internet Explorer 7 beta 3 RC1 or w/e and recently it stopped caching my pages at all. I've set the amount of disc space to use to 70 MB and to let it Automatically check for updates of pages, and I don't delete the temporary files, yet whenever I go to GMail there is a noticeable pause on The Loading page. Normally it skips that page since it's already been cached, but nowawadays it stays there for like 1 minute. It doesn't cache any other page either, I've tried it with Google, my blog, TH, TSG, etc. Any help? I want it to cache properly so I can reduce wait times when browsing.
I've tried clearing all my temporary files (temp files, cookies, history, etc.), reinstalling Internet Explorer 7, and rebooting the computer and such but no luck.
Below is my HJT log if it helps. Thanks guys.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hiya

I've moved this to Web and Email for more response

Just to put your mind at ease, its not just IE7. I have IE6 on XP home, and it does it for me on Gmail. It just sits there, but if you click Refresh, it finds the page. I wonder if there has been an increase in users.

I know that they've changed their page layout recently, so maybe that has someting to do with it.

Or have I misread this post, and its with all websites? I'll see if someone can take a look at your HT log.

Regards

eddie

A friend of mine recently downloaded the Internet Explorer Beta 3, and the installation all went normally. After restarting, however, IE browser will not open. That is to say, a window appears to open briefly, and then it closes. If it is not possible for my friend to get it running normally, is it possible for him to roll back to Internet Explorer 6, which he had previously?

A:Internet Explorer Beta 3 problem

Hi Nathan, and Welcom to TSF!

I presume that your friend is also using Windows Xp with Sp2 [hopefully], and he did a 'System Restore' prior to intalling IE 7 Beta 3.

If he did, just do a System Restore back to before IE7 was installed, and that should fix it.

Now the best way to get to System Restore is:.... Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore.
Once in there, click the box 'Restore my computer to an earlier time' > next > now in the left hand pane there will be a Calendar, select one of the dates that's in Bold type prior to installing Internet Explorer 7, [but not too far back though] click on it > OK. The computer will shutdown and reboot. Now once its powered up again, you will be able to see the desktop, but it won't have any icons on it for about 3 minutes, so don't panic. A panel will come up telling you that the system has been restored to the date you selected, just go OK, and everything will be back to before IE7 was installed.
One word of advice, if his anti-virus program [especially AVG] had done recent updates; then, he'll have to download them again. The same will apply to any Windows? updates too.

Try it and see what happens, and if it doesn't, there are other ways that we can rectify this issue.

Post back with the results.

Kind Regards,
Dave T.

Hi,

I have been having malware problems with IE 7 and would like to uninstall it completely and revert to IE 6. I've googled how to do this, but the method described doesn't apply to me. I am unable to find the entire list of Windows Updates in Add/Remove programs (all I see are 2 updates for Windows Media Format Runtime and Windows Media Player 10) and therefore cannot uninstall it.

Can anyone give me some instructions on how to get rid of IE 7, its been nothing but the bane of my life these days.

Thanks,

hsyed26

A:Solved: Uninstall Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2

Perhaps in the Add/Remove area, click "Show Updates" at the top of the box. This might make IE7 show up.

Do you know any place for downloading these programs ?

The following does not work:

http://www.soft32.com/download_997.html

http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/Browsers/Internet-Explorer-7.shtml

In both cases the reason is the same ...

Internet Explorer 7 description Download: Because this version of Internet Explorer 7 is intended only for developers and registered beta testers, Microsoft has asked us to stop distributing the setup files. Therefore, Internet Explorer 7 is no longer available for download from this page.

However, we will post it here as soon as the beta goes public, so make sure you periodically check back.

DOES ANYONE HAVE A MSDN sub !? !? !?

in order to successfully download it !?

Thanks

A:Downloading Internet Explorer 7 Beta & Office 12 Beta as well

If you don't have an MSDN subscription of your own or are a beta tester, then I'm afraid you're out of luck.

Temporary fix for the problem;
after the bad update occurs, exit Malwarebytes Anti-Malware completely via the Exit option in the tray.
Open the Program Files folder for Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and open the folder found there named ${vars.product.appdata}
Move the 3 files found there to the folder C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
Open MBAM again and it should now be working.

Hi all, just thought i'd post to warn you all of my experience with norton 2010 beta for win 7 32 bit.I've always been a norton user but i must report that when i installed it on my win 7 32 bit it slowed my system down that much that i was pulling my hair out. Then when i tried to uninstall via the norton removal tool it reported that it had worked but it was still present in my software list.i then tried to remove it via the control panel and it gets stuck on 20% and after several attempts i gave up and just decided to reinstall it again but no luck........before install it tries to uninstall the previous version itself and gets stuck at 20%.I am now left with no AV and am reluctant to install another one for fear of conflict issues. The only thing i can do now is reinstall the whole OS, a right PITA!I agree that system security is important and it will always take some amount of resources but seriously my system was that slooooow with norton that any advantages gained in new tech/OS h/ware were fully negated;apart from that win7 32 bit runs wonderfully smooth and fast for me.Has anyone else had similar experience with norton product and what did you do to resolve the problem?

Windows 7 is compatible with Norton AV 2010 Beta. In fact, I'm using NIS 2010 Beta and it works well in 7. I think that there's something in your PC conflicting with this. Why don't you contact Symantec and elaborate about your problem? It's the only way a solution can be made.

A:Internet Explorer Display Page Problem

Hi,
You don't say which version of ie your using
Use Alt+HA or Gear symbol on the top right and About ie

You can take a screen shot of the pages so we might see the issue see the links above my signature for how if you need too,
I wouldn't recommend changing any settings in the area you refer to insure they are all set to the default levels
On any version of ie you can use the F12 key to bring up developer tools and switch browser mode or document modes,
ie11 is different than other prior versions but there are little icons on the left column and if you scroll down that list you'll see one that is Emulations
This will show you document mode which I would try first and switch it to a lower number like 10-9

The user agant string should be switched at last result usually document mode will resolve any display issues,
ie10-9-8 are a little more straight forward than ie11,

Okay I am new I just found your site today and love it. So here is the problem I have that nasty hijacker called inetg I have this before and the only way I got rid of it was with an F-Disk. I don't want to do that again. So Please help.

Here is what I did last time.
1. D/L Hijack this and stopped everything that had inetg in the dir name.
2. Turned off the system restore thing.
3. Went in to safe mode and deleted the inetg folder.
4. Went to the cmd promt and typed in system.ini and delted the inetg file
from there to but it keeps putting it's self back.
5. Reloaded windows in normal mode and inetg comes back.

I have also deleted stuff in Hijack this. But enough talk here is the hijack this file.

Hello,

I was wondering if someone could help. I've tried everything, and I'm still coming up short.

Just about a week ago, when I try to start Internet Explorer, my start page is changed to some pornagraphic page. When I go to Internet Options, I change my homepage to google or something, but it doesn't stay as that. The next time I start IE, it's back to that old page again. The name of the start page is: mkMSITStore:C:\spe\start.chm::/start.html
This startpage is pointing to a folder it automatically creates on my harddrive. If I delete the folder, I get the common IE error page that comes up when a site cannot load. Also, when I try to navigate on the internet, a site called heretofind.com intercepts everything and I am unable to use the internet. It will not allow navigation to any other pages. It pretends to be a helpful searchpage, but of course we know otherwise, and that it is something malicious.

Here is what I've tried to do to fix it. I of course ran McAfee, but that didn't do anything. So I ran AdAware, and it found a couple files in the registry that was probably causing the problem. When I delete the files, everything is fine, and IE works, but only temporarily. These files keep popping back, and the same problem starts all over again. I am able to find the files that are creating the problem, or at least I think are creating the problem, and when I delete them, everything works like normal, but only temporarily. I can't s... A:[SOLVED] Internet Explorer 8 - page cannot be displayed

Try enabling compatibility mode. It is the broken page icon next to the refresh button on the toolbar. Here?s a good resource from the IEBlog that talks about compatibility mode in detail if you?d like to learn more: http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/200...lity-view.aspx

If that doesn?t work, run IE in No Add-ons Mode. Go to Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) - If this fixes the issue, then go to Tools -> Manage Add-ons and enable the add-ons one by one to find which one was causing the problem.

You can also try resetting Internet Explorer's settings by going to Tools > Internet Options and then the "Advanced" tab, and click "Reset..."

If you?re still not having any luck, I recommend you reinstall IE8 on your system.

I hope this solves your issue!

Sad to know that okay you can try this method.

Download the program (LSPfix & Winsockfix) and run it. It should restore the LSP Problems which has been caused by the removal of Spyware etc. I had a similar problem caused by Antivirus software sometime back.

Try downloading LSPfix and run it

http://cexx.org/lspfix.htm

http://download.cnet.com/LSPFix/3000...-10417026.html

if it doesn't work download 'Winsockfix' and run it.

I have Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 11. I have one web site (marketwatch.com/watchlist) that I use frequently but have not been able to access for about 2 weeks. The web page will partially open and then stops. When I try to scroll on the web page or open a new window, either nothing happens or I get a message that the web page is not responding. Strangely enough I can open the main marketwatch.com site and read articles, etc with no problem. I contacted tech support at the web site and they can't find a problem with their web site and suggested I install Moxilla as my internet browser.

Here's what I've tried:
I tried listing the marketwatch.com/watchlist site in the compatibility mode but it didn't help.
I cleared the cookies off my computer but that didn't help.
I disabled my NIS firewall and tried to bring up the web page but that didn't work.

I'm still suspicious that there's a problem with that particular web page since I have no trouble opening other web pages.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

If you have a watch list that usually means you have to sign into the site ?
Using another browser might help to see if you've been banned from the site

To properly clear the cache Use Alt+TD or Gear symbol Safety/ Delete browser history,
Uncheck the top box and Check all others/ Delete.

My hope page, under internet options, is suppposed to open http://Google.com/

But, it opens this: http://Google.com/webhp?

It looks right, I mean it is Google.com, but I'm afraid I might have some type of spyware causing this?

**I also tried changing the home page to Msn.com and dell.com........the old
http://Google.com/webhp? still loads?

A:Solved: Internet Explorer - why is the home page loading differently than requested?

SpySweeper, Spybot and other security software have an option to lock the homepage. That option has to be temporarily turned off when you want to change the homepage.

When I access certain web pages using IE browser 6.0, I often get a message in the bottom tray bar that says: " Done but with errors on page. Over the top of the error message, is a triangle with an exclamation mark.

Can any one tell me what I need to do to stop getting this message or what I am doing that may be causing this. It doesn't happen on every web page I open, but it is on the majority of them.

I am not a novice operating computers, but this one is stumping me & I want to correct the problem. I run WinXP home edition & have all my current windows updates.

A:Solved: Error on Page, Message on Internet Explorer when accessing some web sites???

To correct the problem you would need to contact the webmaster for each page it occurs on, and convince them to code it correctly for every version of browser software that exists, plus every version of Java etc that each person runs.

Basically don't assume that the problem is yours, unless it actually crashed the PC on each page. You could make sure your PC is fully updated, but that will not get rid of the message in most cases either.

site: http://www.habbo.com
overview: Habbo is an online social community where you can login/chat with an avatar.

I am having problems accessing their game client. I can login to my account on the homepage fine, but when I try to enter the actual client it redirects to a 'maintenance break' parking page. The maintenance break finished over 12 hours ago, and other players can log back in fine - but i'm still getting redirected to the maintenance page.

I have deleted all my temporary files/cookies and refreshed, given it 12 hours but still no change. Is there a chance my ISP has cached(?) the maintenance page and is redirecting me to it automatically? Can't think of a reason it would be doing it.

note: The problem is the same for all the computers in the house using the same internet connection as I am.

Thanks for any help in advance,
Lewis

A:Page won't update, maybe ISP caching? Unsure.

Anyone else try it yet? So far I have not found any bugs or issues. The only thing I am not comfortable with right now is the menu look. There is no Home icon, there are no icons at all. I guess when they come out with a "new" version they really want it to look different. I still need to get use to the taps thing instead of opening multiple versions of IE

Stability so far every site that I have visited has worked good.

A:Internet Explorer 7 Beta 7

I love using IE7 Beta but I have the home icon and others...where are yours?? I love the tabbed browsing too.
