Lenovo G50-45 Ram Upgrade G.Skill

Q: Lenovo G50-45 Ram Upgrade G.Skill

Hi Everyone I'm new here and new to upgrades on my G50-45 and have a question I need help with. My G50-45 is equipped with an AMD A8 processor, R5 graphics, 500gb hard drive and 6gb of Samsung Ram memory stock and running Windows 10 Home 64bit. I would like to upgrade my Ram memory to the G Skill Ripjaws DDR3L 1600hz but the Cas Latency is 9 and would like to know if my system will accept a Latency that low let alone actually run the Ripjaws Ramsey? I know this computer is a couple years old but it had hardly been used until recently and is it like new condition, but it is pretty sluggish running CyberLink Power Director 13 for 1080p video editing and was hoping that if I upgrade the ram it will perform better and not push me in the direction of buying a new computer that I don't really have the money to spend on. I was also thinking of upgrading to a Seagate Firecuda 1-2TB SSHD because it is faster than an HDD and much cheaper than an SSD at the same storage size. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time and help.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

having had this yoga700 14 for a year ,a nd today it is dead , no power at all , the  the LED indicator light is not on even with the adapter plug in . ONE year , this is the shotest life laptap that I have ever own. And I have had it sent to Lenovo's depot center four times in this one year . I can only say that their skill is terrible , every time I received my computer from the cemter , my computer would have some new ugly scratches and some sign and distorting edge which was apparently caused by improper disassembly operations. A month ago the computer could not boot up , and it was sent in again and they replaced the motherboard . in just a month, it completely  dies now ,  it does not have power at all, the power led indicator does not turn on at all , even if I have tried several confirmed working adapters. So you can see how poor their quality is   warranty is expired now , I m really disappointed with this first lenovo product I owned  , it was the first and it would be the last lenovo product in my life.

Hi everyone, I'd like to introduce myself with my very first post in this community. So, I'd like to upgrade my Lenovo B590 (I know it's an old one ).Currently my specs are: - Intel Celeron 1005M 1,90GHz; 8 Gb DDR3 Ram (which i perfectly upgraded); 450 Gb HDD and Windows 10 - 64x and this mainboard Socket 988B rPGA (G2 if I am correct). Thanks to this forum an other posts like this one: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-B-and-G-Series-Notebooks/B590-Processor-Upgrade/td-p/1948989 I could figure out more like for e.g. which CPU's are compatible. So my question is I actually found on ebay an Intel Core i5 Mobile CPU Socket G2 PGA 988 with the following FRU 40W0492, but on the Lenovo Maintenance Manual the FRU of the i5 is completey different (102001067). So is my laptop with this CPU incompatible 100%? Aren't FRU numbers supposed to have 7 numbers with letters? Or am I wrong? Thank you in advance and sorry for my english I haven't talked it for 3 years or so.

A:ThinkCentre: Stuck at Lenovo splash screen after lenovo solution bios upgrade

I would try resetting the BIOS using the jumper, or by taking out the CMOS battery, wait a minute or two, and then replace it and try booting up. See page 73 of the Hardware Maintenance Manaul linked below for location of the Clear CMOS/Recovery jumper (# 20) https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/thinkcentre_pdf/m83m93p_hmm.pdf Clearing the CMOS (BIOS)1. Remove all media from the drives and turn off all attached devices and the computer. Then, disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the computer. 2. Remove the computer cover. 3. Locate the Clear CMOS /Recovery jumper on the system board. 4. Move the jumper from the standard position (pin 1 and pin 2) to the maintenance position (pin 2 and pin 3). 5. Reinstall the computer cover and connect the power cord. 6. Turn on the computer and leave it on for approximately 10 seconds. Then, turn off the computer by holding the power switch for approximately five seconds. 7. Repeat step 1 through step 2. 8. Move the Clear CMOS /Recovery jumper back to the standard position (pin 1 and pin 2). 9. Reinstall the computer cover and connect the power cord. Good Luck,

any clue how i could get that to 1t for better performance?

Very Few Intel based Motherboards, specially P35 ones allow you to set 1T .
If you cannot see the option in your current BIOS ,see if an updated BIOS has been released has that option.

Q: G.Skill

Just picked up a new Asus P8P67 Deluxe board and a i7 2600K. I currently have 4 sticks of Mushkin Silverline 1333MHz in there now but they are being sold with my older board. I can get a great deal on a G.Skill Ripjaws X 1866Mhz from a local store but I have absolutely no knowledge of G.Skill. Just wondering what?s everyone?s thoughts are on G.Skill?

I've personally not used them but I have a few friends that do and they swear by them. Only one thing to consider, the hight of the heat spreaders, make sure that your CPU fan has clearence for the extra height of the RAM.

I am building a system and was just wondering if there is any real difference between these two memory's

But first I'll show you my system as a whole

My system is going to be this

Gigabyte A7M-D2H

AMD A8 3870K APU with radeon HD 6550D also will do dual graphics in the future probably

I have two choices in mind (unless you guy's recommend something completely different. So is there any real difference between these two in anyway, like would I see any performance difference

G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)

G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666)

OCZ ModXstream-Pro 700 W

Old case from a P4 build I did years ago, unless you really think a new case is necessary if so then I'd probably go with a CoolerMaster HAF 912 or something.

I would go with the 6GB Kit DDR3 2000 G.Skill-Trident.
The Corsiar RAM is a well known, respected brand, but it's slightly slower, and to be honest, I never to this day had any RAM fail on me (call me lucky).

Hey Guys,
Just purchased G. Skill Ripjaws Series (2 X 4 GB ) 240 Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800. )

Out of curiosity, anyone else have this memory and have you had any luck overclocking. My specs are Asus Maximus III Formula, Intel Core i7 875K ( Cooler Master V8), Radeon HD 5770, and OCZ 700 PSU.

The reason I'm asking is the price was so low ($99.00 promotion, $120 regular). I'm thing about going ahead and ordering a second set but wanted to make sure I'm getting a good deal!

Thanks, John

A:OverClocking G. Skill W/ i7K

Never used g.skill however it is listed on the qvl list at asus so it should work ok. Remember no overclock is guaranteed; you may or may not get a little more spd out of the memory. Do check the required vdimm [ram voltage] and set that value in the bios since it will probably default to 1.5V and that memory will most likely need a higher vdimm.

Make sure after any overclock, you test for stability. An overclock that is not prime95 stable is worthless.

Iíll start with the problem followed by my computer specs.
I am frequently (read: every 5-7 minutes) getting a BSOD with no consistent hex code. The most common it seems is IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. This only happens, however, when I have one stick of ram in the MoBo compared to when I have both in. I bought them in a pack (2x2gb) and they worked fine for about a month and a half.
System Specs:
- Intel DP55WG MoBo
- Intel i7 860 processor
- nVidea GTS 250 (BFG Tech)
- Antec 650w 80+ Bronze certified PSU
- Memory is G.SKILL F3-10666CL9D-4GBNQ
DDR3-1333 PC3-10666 2GBx2
SPD CL9-9-9-24 1.5v
I have checked the BIOS and the CAS is correct for the ram. I have also run a memtest on both sticks individually and together, everything was fine. When I boot up Windows (7, ultimate, x64) it will boot and then 5 minutes in, blue screen. I have also tried multiple slots (1,3; 1,2; 1,4; 2,4; etc.). Not sure what to do now.
I work full time, Iíll check back here in the evenings, thanks for any assistance you can render.

If you want to believe Newegg, they appear identical in their specs. They might have different subcomponents and different quality control.

I'd buy on the basis of return policy, price, and support.

Unless one turns out to be faulty, I'd be very surprised if you could tell which was in your PC.

I've tried the G-skill support site but they have offered me nothing. I'm having a strange problem with the ram kit i got and I'm wondering if it's either the new motherboard I bought or the ram that's at fault.

I'm using a Biostar tforce tp43d2a7. It says on the specs that it supports 1066 ram, but in the bios the highest I can set it to is 800.

My problem is that when I installed the ram, it didn't go past the loading screen for the OS (windows vista 32-bit).
things I've tried:
-Tried increasing voltage. (req volts are 2.1, my mobo had it set at 1.8)
-increased tRFC to 54 from what it was (50)
-increased chipset voltage +.10V
-tried one stick of the ram kit, no luck, and the other stick, no luck
-tried running them w/out dual channel enabled
-tried using another type of stick (problem was that it was a 533mhz stick, which I think might not be supported by my mobo. My mobo gave me an LED light error telling me that there is a memory issue when I put either of my old RAM sticks in)

The last one listed there is why I'm considering that my mobo is to blame for this. Ever since I changed mobos and ram, I haven't been able to boot into windows, it reboots at the loading screen.

A:Won't boot with G-skill 4gb pc8500 1066

You have changed hardware and windows is trying to
use the old drivers, causing the problem.
You might boot to the vista CD and watch for the link
for repair options and run the repair.
It should load default drivers and hopefully boot.
Then install the new hardware drivers.
If it still won't boot, you may be looking at a clean install.

Hi everyone, I'm Steven and I thought I had a clue untill I hit this one.

I have an Acer Aspire One Netbook with XP SP3. I built it to replace my old XP tower when the power supply died and took the motherboard with it. (Lightening strike on a power line, melted the surge protector.)

I'm an enduser / hobbiest. I read a lot on the net, but have no formal training of any kind. I have a very highly customized set up with a lot of layers of protection. But, it's not doing me any good.

I have a full retail copy of XP SP2 from years ago. The first thing I did was wipe all of the Acer stuff off of the drive and set up a clean copy of XP. This setup has been running fine until recently. My only active real time AV / FW system is the full suite from PC Tools. But, I do have lots of others as backup scanners / HKs like SuperAnti, Spybot S&D, Root Repeal, Malware Bytes and more. I also have every service turned off that can be and I've changed a lot of system settings with TweakXP. I've set up custom rules for all of my IE zones (IE8). I have my swap file encrypted with BC Wipe. I have all my personal info (taxes, ect) encrypted with AxCrypt. I have a very complicated password scheme and so on on so forth. For the most part, I've shut down pretty much evrything in Windows that can be to make my system as tight as possible. For instance, I don't use system restore, instead I use the free sector by sector back up tool from EASUS. In other words I've ... Read more

Aside from the clocking the speed of the PC is slower than it was. CPU-Z recognizes all 16g of ram so Im thinking all the sticks are good. Ive gone into the BIOS but I dont see how or where to fix these issues. Id just assume throw the old sticks back in cause this slowness is not what I was hoping for... Any and all recommendations are appreciated. Thank you

History: I'm using an old database that was created by a third party. There are links I don't understand that prevent it from being converted properly to upgrade so I'm content using the '97 version.

The database is for entering "observation data". There are three demographics (fields) per card. The data I'm using would have 800+ records. For example: Each card has "Shift", "Area", and "Name" fields. As I enter the data from each card (record), I include those fields.

Problem: I want to pull the data so I can show each field per record. (Card 1: Name, Shift, Area; Card 2: Name, Shift, Area; etc) so I can sort them by each field.

I know this might be a bad explanation, but I'm not real sure how else to describe it. I just don't know what features are available in queries.

Thanks for any help.

Right now, I'm starting to have some major ram issues when I'm currently using a z97 build, which my specs are included in my profile. What happen was I was having problem installing some programs. I google around and the forums and I thought it could be the ram. So, I popped in memtest86+ v5.01 and at 30 mins, it reported errors. I was right all along. How could this be happening? Right now, I'm retesting it I all 4 rams and it barfed up more than that, approximately 6912. Looking at it, these errors are spreading like cancer.

I'm about to use one ram stick at a time, but to be honest, I've never done this before since this is the first time I've ever had this problem. I heard some bad stories of ESD and frying ram and mobo while doing the procedure and I'm feeling nervous. Though I'd figure I need you guys to figure why this is happening other than the obvious faulty ram.

At bios, the ram was settled at xmp profile 1 at 1600mhz at 1.5v, while the other settings are at auto. Got any suggestions and precautions on how I doing this procedure? Thanks!

A:will Asus Z87 Pro mobo suport 32GB G.Skill DDR3 P 2.4Ghz Quad Chanel??

Dual Channel motherboards will only support Dual Channel memory no matter how many kits you buy . If you want Quad Channel you would have to purchase the LGA2011 chipset motherboard which have 8 DIMM slots . 4 memory slots on each side of the CPU .

Hi, can I upgrade the RAM and CPU for a g50-80(Model: 80E502G3GM/ i5-5200U/4GB/1TB/HD 5500)?

A:Lenovo G50-80 upgrade

Hi publicorders ,
Welcome to the Community Forums.
In term of the RAM upgrade based on your product specifications:
16GB max / PC3-12800 1600MHz DDR3L, non-parity, dual-channel capable, two 204-pin SO-DIMM sockets
So that you can maximize it (2 x 8GB) or simply get another similar 4 GB for 8GB sweet spot.
Recommended OEM parts on FRU listing item 12 page 80 of the hardware manual.
WIth regards to the CPU upgrade is not posible as it is soldered on the systemboard as BGA (ball grid array) similar to i5-5200U.
Hope this help answer your query.

I bought a new G50 (1EIN) series laptop with inbuilt 4 GB RAM. When I went to local Lenovo support for RAM upgrade they told me that my laptop will not support more than 6 GB of RAM. Even if we install a RAM more then 2 GB, the usable memory will be limited to 6 GB only. Pleas verify because the retailer who sold me this laptop was ready to upgrade my RAM upto 12 GB but I wanted to get my RAM installed with Lenovo officials.

A:Lenovo g50-80 ALL upgrade

Hi Robinburn,
Welcome to the Community Forums.
As per specifications, you can upgrade the RAM :
16GB max / PC3-12800 1600MHz DDR3L, non-parity, dual-channel capable, two 204-pin SO-DIMM sockets
The graphic chip however is not upgradable since it is soldered on the motherboard.
Looking at the minimum specs of PUBG:
OS: 64-bit Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10Processor: Intel Core i3-4340 / AMD FX-6300Memory: 6 GB RAMGraphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 2GB / AMD Radeon HD 7850 2GBDirectX: Version 11Network: Broadband Internet connectionStorage: 30 GB available space
It would be best to invest on a gaming laptop or better yet a desktop to enjoy the game.
Hope this help answer your query.
