I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Upon further inspection of the laptop I found that even when connecting to the LAN it is still unable to connect to the internet and I have come to the belief that it might be the driver. My HP Powerbook 4440s goes black when I plug into a projector. The projector says no signal. I tried a differnet computer and it connected right away to the projector. I have uninstalled and reinstalled (from intel website) the graphics card driver and rebooted and it was still going black. I have set the settings in the control panel and used windows + p to select duplicate. Everytime I plug the VGA in the screen goes black and when I unplug it my control panel and windows +p settings are back to computer only.Read other answers

Hello everyone! I've been searching around for a solution to this issue I've having but haven't found a thread that relates to my particular situation, so help would be greatly appreaciated. I installed HP ProtectTools on a laptop and it configured BIOS to require a password before booting up. I decided that I didn't want that setup and since it was a fresh image of windows, a re-image would be a quicker and easier fix to this issue. However, the BIOS security features still remain and now all the previous software the was used to setup the BIOS security is no longer on the laptop. How can I go about removing this security feature now that I've re-imaged the laptop? ThanksRead other answers

I read all available technical documentation for my laptop and see that only Sata 3 interface SSDs from HP are for my laptop. What about PCIe x4 in M.2 format? WIll it works on this laptop?Of course PCIe SSDs has very very faster read/write speed! I would prefer to PCIe ssd from Samsung.I read on this forum that other people used Samsung 850 Pro with MLC 3D V-NAND for this laptop as well. But nothing about PCIe x4.Of course Samsung EVO 850 M.2 (about i wrote upper) should works great because in using sata 3 interface in m.2 format. But what about PCIe x4? Thanks !

Hello everyone! I have HP ProBook 440 G3 (X0N42EA) with Windows 8.1 x64 installed on M.2 SSD 256 GB TLC (SanDisk X400 if it is important), which is installed in my notebook from the factory. Win 8.1 was upgraded from Win 7, which was installed from the factory also. This model has both M.2 and SATA sockets. So in my case I have a free SATA socket. I want to upgrade notebook's storage volume adding a 2.5 512 GB SSD (SanDisk X400 also, if it is important also). I insert new SSD, start the PC and get an error message, that boot device not found and I have to install an operating system.OK. I set up in the BIOS (UEFI interface actually) UEFI boot order: 1st - USB; 2nd - M.2; 3rd - SATA. And for legacy boot order I have only two options, which are also set up respectively: 1st - USB; 2nd - M.2. New SATA SSD volume even doesn't display in legacy boot order options. I save changes and reboot PC and have same situation, same message.I try different ways: checking only UEFI boot order, only legacy boot order, checking both of it - no results. Even when I choose M.2 directly for boot via F9 button - no changes. When I unmount new SSD from notebook, PC starts normally, everything is OK.Both M.2 and SATA SSD are MBR partitions, if it is important. Does anybody know how to mount SSD into SATA socket and make PC boot system from M.2 SSD? Thanks in advance!Read other answers
i upgraded my system from windows 7 to windows 10 and am having issues with my audio, i troubleshooted and it responded that am missing base system driver and PCI communications driver please what do i do
Hi: Your notebook is not supported by HP for W8, W8.1 or W10. The missing devices have no bearing on why the audio is not working. You use the windows 7 drivers for the base system and pci simple comms controller devices. The base system device needs this driver. This package contains the Ricoh Media Card Reader Driver for the supported notebook models and operating systems. The Ricoh Media Card Reader driver enables the integrated media card slot. ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp46501-47000/sp46999.exe The PCI Simple Comms Controller needs this driver... This package provides the Intel Management Engine Components Driver and Interface. ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp59501-60000/sp59684.exe What is the problem with the audio? No sound at all? First see if the W7 driver works for the audio too...install and restart the PC. This package contains the IDT High-Definition (HD) Audio Driver for the supported notebook/laptop models and operating systems. ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp48001-48500/sp48147.exe If that doesn't fix the sound, I have one other thing you can try.Read other 1 answers
Hello Community, Recently we're decided to buy new laptops HP Probook 430 G4 for our department but our local market has only models with Core i5 CPU and 1Tb HDD installed. It seems possible to upgrade with M.2 2280 SSD manually as described in Maintenance Guide (Removal and Replacement procedures for Customer Self-repair parts). There're two P/N for HP M.2 SSD drives also: 128|256Gb TLC So, is it possible to upgrade the laptop with a SSD not listed in spare parts for this model? There is a link in the thread for upgrading with SSD on this Forum (pinned) to the Crucial website to check a compatibility.http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/HP-Compaq/probook-430-g4It says Crucial MX200 500GB M.2 Type 2280 (Single Sided) Internal SSD compatible for upgrade, but this model is EOL and Legacy and only a newer MX300 M.2 SSD on market. Are the Crucial MX300 275/525Gb models (Crucial MX300 M.2 CT275MX300SSD4 or CT525MX300SSD4) compatible for upgrade of Probook 430 G4? Hi, I'm a field service tech with a frustrating problem. HP Probook 640 G1, initial customer complaint was that the system will charge battery when turned OFF and plugged in, but system will not charge battery or use wall power when turned ON. Battery and power cable were replaced; no change. Conclusion at that point was a problem existed between the power cord and power connector on the system board; thus the system board was replaced. Since then, the laptop will not power up at all, on battery or when plugged into the wall. Today I replaced the power button board, and got the same symptoms, but noticed that when I press the power button, the battery indicator LED blinks nine times and stops; nothing else happens. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

About two weeks ago I bought an HP Probook 4710s. Everything was fine until about 2-3 days ago. I was playing a game on my computer when it randomly turned off. I tried powering it back on and it shut off within two seconds. It felt a little hot so I went to bed and it worked fine the next day. The next day I didn't play any games and I was just using it normally, (browser, yahoo and aol messanger) and it shut off again. It didn't feel as hot this time. Finally, this morning I was watching TV and put down laptop to get a drink and when I got back a minute later my computer had shut off. This time it was not very hot at all. I've been googling things but haven't really been able to find any answers. I don't know if it is a hardware issue, or lack of updates of some sort, or If i got a bug that makes my computer think it's overheating and shut down. It's pretty annoying since I JUST got this computer. Any information in the right direction is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
