Dolby Audio does not work with my BT headset.

Q: Dolby Audio does not work with my BT headset.

Hello,I've got problem with Dolby Audio on Lenovo Ideapad Y700-17ISK Win10 x64 Pro. Dolby Audio works fine with speakers and headsets connected via microJack, but does not work with my bluetooth headset (Bluedio Hurricane Turbine T2+). When I connect these via bluetooth, Dolby Audio shows "Please connect speakers or headset to turn on Dolby Audio". How can i solve that problem?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi,I'm now using Ideapad Z510. After upgraded to Windows 8.1. I'd went to the Lenovo website searching for new driver update. But, after i install the "Realtek Audio Driver", the "Dolby Home Theater V4" is not running(audio sound not playing through). And, the "Dolby Digital Plus" is running instead of "Dolby Home Theater V4".Then, when I try to reinstall the older version "Realtek Audio Driver" from Lenovo website, the "Dolby Home Theater V4" is running again.Truly, the "Dolby Digital Plus"'s sound is crisper and louder than "Dolby Home Theater V4". But the sound of "Dolby Home Theater V4" has more bass and more function (like Graphic Equalizer, more Intelligent Equalizer etc.).Is this an update or what? What should I choose? The newer driver (for Windows 8.1) or older driver (for Dolby Home Theater V4)?  Thanks. (confused now) @@

A:Dolby Home Theater V4 changed to Dolby Digital Plus after Realtek Audio Driver update Windows 8.1

I only installed audio driver ver. which includes Dolby Home Theater V4. Since no issues are encountered I have not updated to the latest version for my unit (ver. Does this Dolby Digital Plus mentioned by you better than V4 in some aspect aside from the ones that you already stated?

Hi Zoori,
Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
I?m sorry to hear that ?Dolby Digital plus Advanced Audio? is not working as expected in your G510 Laptop and displaying an error message to install the upgraded version of the Dolby driver in the computer, below are the troubleshooting steps to check and resolve this issue.

Open Device Manager. (Right-click on the Start button and choose Device Manager).
Expand the Sound, Video and Games Controllers section.Right Click on the Conexant Smart Audio HD item and choose Uninstall.
Still in Device Manager, click on Action>Scan for new Hardware.
The Conexant Smart Audio item will re-appear.Right-Click on it and choose update driver.Navigate to d:\drivers\audio.When that's done, close Device Manager.Open File Manager and navigate to D:\drivers\Audio\DolbyGUI and install Dolby Digital plus Advanced Audio.
That should get rid of the error message and this version of Dolby Digital plus Advanced Audio should be working as expected.

Do post us back if the issue persists.

I have a new headset which i bought today, and the audio out of the headset doesn't seem to work. The mic does though.

This is the headset

thinks to note are that i have 2 ports on my computer, one to the motherboard and one on the front panel of my computer, i have tried it in both several times, fiddled with the mic settings, i've also set the vista sound to headphones out as default but nothing works. No matter what i do i get no sound through the headset. I am using the 3.5mm plug in things, pink and black, as the usb converter did not come with my headset.

what the hecks wrong? im on vista.

also, even when it is not plugged in, in the vista sound options Headphone and mic are in still there.

makes no damn sense whats wrong, it also makes a huge screeching noise instead of actualy recording my voice.

A:New headset, audio out doesn't seem to work.

when i plug the headset in the back on my computer my Vista sound control says ive plugged speakers in not a headset. and then no sound comes out.. halp!

I have a bluetooth headset connected to a bluetooth usb adapter but I am unable to get the mic to work while using stereo audio, only when it's in mono audio. I read somewhere it's about the number of profiles supported, would I need multiple bluetooth adapters, a better one or is there a way to make it work that I'm just missing?

Title sums it up...

Its a cyber acoustics headset which comes with a USB port, an earphone, and a microphone.
First suggestion I KNOW you will make is tweak the audio settings, I have done this endlessly. Nothing is muted, especially not the built in mute button on the headset.

Furthermore, the Sound Bar that goes up when it gets input? Does not go up when I speak, and with feedback on I don't hear anything.

Strangely enough, there is a little attachment going across the wire and when I tap it I get the feedback of the tap and the sound bar goes up.

I have tweaked A LOT with the settings, set it to default, uninstalled and reinstalled drivers.
I have gone the whole 9 miles.
Also, it does not show up in the Realtek Hd Audio Manager. Because USB ports are not counted as Audio Jacks. Any suggestions
PS: It used to work on this computer, I do not know what has changed.

A:USB Headset won't show up in Audio Manager, and wont work.

So does it work on another computer?

Hey guys,

After successfully setting up a headset on my own pc I felt confident enough to do the same on someone else's. That was very naive of me.

The system I am working on is called a Shuttle X (it has a Philips DVD drive and speakers) and is running Windows XP. It has two handy plugs for mic and headphone, which I used to plug in the mic and headphone of a new Logitech headset.

Problem: the mic of the headset doesnt work (headphone does work). I cant record sound, neither in my Skype test call nor in Windows Sound Recorder.

Im finding recommendations to access Control Panel > Sound and Audio devices and in the Audio tab of that dialog, hit the Volume button under Sound Recording to see volume controls (the familiar set of horizontal sliders). There, I am told to select Mute on the Microphone Volume control.

Problem is, that Microphone Vol control does not have a Mute checkbox but a Select checkbox which I cant uncheck. It also has an Advanced button, which opens up a range of options including an Alternate microphone check box which does not solve the problem, and a Microphone boost checkbox which also does not solve the problem.

There are constant reference to NVIDIA nForce Audio everywhere, and it seems that I should somehow tell this nForce that I have an external mic, but I dont know where or how. If the system has a built-in mic, it also doesnt seem to work.

Also note that plugging in the headset means the speakers no longer work.

Any thoughts on how ... Read more

I am knew on the board. Greetings

I installed a NEW Logitech USB Headset 350 onto my Winows XP Service Pack 2 generic 'puter.

I now have no speaker sound and no option shows except the headset and "Modem #1 line ".

It sorta looks like I have no speaker drivers .

Unplugging the headset does not help.

Anybody know how to fix this problem so I am not forced to wear a headset for audio ALL OF THE TIME ?

A:Installed new USB Headset NOW no speaker audio even if I unplug the headset

Yeah, my USB headset was a little weird at first as well.

Try going into your volume control (Start > All Programs > Accessories > Entertainment > Volume Control):
1. Click Options
2. Properties
3. Change the mixer device from the USB headset to your speakers.

Should work.

Also should note you can change the output settings in most audio software (for example: Windows Media Player, Winamp, etc.) so if you can't hear anything from your speakers when using those programs, try fiddling with those settings as well. I know for Winamp it's Options > Preferences > Plug-ins > Output > double-click the plug-in you use (mine is out_ds.dll) and again change it to your speakers using the drop down menu.

I can't figure out how to fix this. I noticed that, when I'm watching a video, my headset's mic will relay the audio coming into my headset. Disabling Stereo Mix doesn't fix it. The physical controller that's on my headset cable doesn't stop it from happening, as even if I turn the volume knob all the way down and flick the mute switch, it's still picking up the audio. Muting my headset from within the computer stops the mic from hearing it, as does switching to my speakers that are plugged into the front jack. My headset is a 3.5mm jack type plugged into the back of the computer, directly into the motherboard.

I have a almost broken headset, but the microphone still works fine, The microphone is connected on the wire right before the headset, Its not actually touching the headset itself.

Would this microphone still work if the headset was cut off?

Sorry but I can't manage to take a photo but

A:Will a Headset microphone still work if I cut it off the Headset?

Is the microphone actually supported by the headset, by that I mean when the set is on your head is the microphone carried close to your mouth so you have both hands free. If this is the case then cutting off the headset will mean the microphone will not have any way of being held near your mouth.
If you cut it off you will have to be very careful you don't cut the wires for the microphone & it's possible that there is a common return wire for the earpieces & the microphone in the form of a shielded cable, so it would be very difficult, but if you have skills in this area it could be done.

Hello guys, I have been searching around about this but they always end up with a headphones that has built-in Dolby Audio. I just bought a USB Headphones and when I use it, the Dolby software always disabled. If I plug in a headset/earphone base on 3.5mm jack the software work again. Does Dolby Audio software only run on a specific hardware? anyway my laptop has built-in Dolby Advanced Audio v2 and the sound card was Conexant SmartAudio.

Along with this, there is a little more question. The headphones I bought (Dragon War Beast) is a 5.1 channel sound (said on the box & the website). But I honestly confused if it was real or not cuz in Windows Audio it only show stereo channel on Speaker Setup as well as the manual said USB 2.1 Stereo Vibrating Headset (different from the box). Is there a way I can test if its a stereo or 5.1 sound?
Thanks in advance. Any help is always apreciated, and of course sorry for my bad english

A:How can I use Dolby Audio with USB Headphones

When you use USB headsets, you bypass the PC's sound card (and add on's such as the Dolby). The USB headset has the "sound card" (conversion from digital to analog) built in.

The 5.1 is a function of the USB headset and again does use the PC sound. If the source, such as a game, is 5.1 then you will get the 5.1 (simulated) sound. Unless there are multiple speakers in the headset I don't see how it can get "real" 5.1 sound. Its like my LCD HD TV, it has two stereo speakers but simulates surround sound.

I've been having trouble getting clear audio consistently with my new headset on my laptop which is currently running Windows 7. I have tried reinstalling the driver, restarting my laptop, combinations of restarting and reinstalling driver, replacing the headset (before I realised it was a computer problem), even flashed the BIOS to see if that would help, also tried using different USB ports, nothing has fixed it and if it does it lasts 5 minutes before it starts to crackle and sound quality degrades again. I cannot think of anything else that I can do to fix this. I have looked for a fix on Logitech's website which directed me to Microsoft but none of the solutions posted has fixed the problem. Headset works perfect on boyfriends computer, also running Windows 7, and my boyfriends headset (same as mine) has the same problem when plugged in to my laptop. Any help would be appreciated.

I don't have Dolby specific setup, but you might want to check your device manager directly to see if a driver for Dolby appears under the expanded menu as shown below. If so, you can select "update driver" and have it automatically search Window Update or use the latest driver (if you have it handy). I would personally prefer the latter option if available. Good luck.

hi there.
I have Lenovo ideapad S510p and currently running on Windows 10 Pro (64Bit). I upgraded it from Windows 7 Ultimate.
I recently upgraded my Audio driver using device manager on Windows 10 pro. When i first upgraded the audio driver (Around a week ago) Dolby Advanced Audio v2  had gone and instead of it i had Dolby Advanced plus in the RealTek and now again when windows installed update today Dolby Advanced plus is also gone. I didn't update Audio driver today.
I just want to know if Lenovo has removed Dolby Advanced Audio v2 or Dolby Advanced Plus after the recent Windows updated. I never got any error for the audio. I checked in Task Manager,  Device Manager, Program Files, Program Data, App data, etc and i didn't find even a folder of Dolby Advanced Audio v2.P.S. When i upgraded from Windows 7 Ultimate to Windows 10 Pro, I didn't have any problem.
Please let me know what has happened to Dolby Advanced Audio v2 and how can i get it back if i want to?
I hope i will get a reply soon.
Thanks in Advance.

A:S510P - Dolby Advanced Audio

Hi Sentient ,
Welcome to the Community Forums.
Everytime Windows update perform its automatic update it would replace current drivers you have and replace it as it sees as more updated version from its own database changing the OEM drivers version to a Microsoft native drivers.
You may try to initially perform system restore before the date windows update occur since it would create a restore date . If you manage to restore older driver version with the Dolby audio then stop automatic updates for the drivers to prevent this from auto changing it .
Else moving forward you can also install the audio drivers intended for your model compatible for windows 10 and see if that would be able to restore the dolby enhancements .
If that fails to restore , you can try versions from Windows 7 and right click to run on compatibility mode.
Update us as it goes .
