I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Why is it not possible to charge the notebook battery with 30W @ 20V?Why only 45 W and 65 W @ 20 V? I wanted to use this PowerBank with PD support "Anker PowerCore+ 26800mAh Powerbank with Power Delivery"  but only 30W @20V Output. So at the moment it doesn't work if the notebook is on. On standby it works and charges the battery with 30W. Why only when the notebook is off or in standby??

Hi,I got and AUKEY PB-XD20 with USB PD (Power Delivery) 12V 1,5A - 18W.When I connect it to my yoga it charges it for few seconds than disconnects. Repeating the cycle over and over. The thing is - when I turned Yoga off and leave it connected to this power bank time the % of the battery is going up.When Yoga is up, after few cycles it gets crazy and hangs - forcing me to restart it. Can someone at Lenovo take a look into it and allow to charge it with some lower wattage while off? I do not want to break anything, but this cycle is probably worse than constant power delivery.

Hi,  I have the Yoga S940 and need to purchase a power bank to charge while I travel. Is anyone able to help and tell me whether either of the two below power banks will work? I think I would prefer the larger capacity but only charges at 30W while the smaller capacity power bank charges at 45W. However, obviously if I need the 45W then so be it. https://www.amazon.co.uk/PD-Power-Bank-RAVPower-USB-Black/dp/B06XTMK9H2?SubscriptionId=AKIAIR4KYOS5H... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07QKK441Y/ref=as_li_ss_tl?language=en_US&ie=UTF8&linkCode=gs4&linkId=19... Any thoughts would be great. Thanks

Hello,

recently bought a T470s, very happy with it so far. Tried out USB Type-C charging from my powerbank and it doesn't react. Is it the cable, the power bank or is it possible to charge through powerbank at all?

Powerbank 10000 mAh, 3.6 V, 36 Wh
Input 5.0 V/2.0 A
Output 5.1 V/2.1 A

Cable - random 2$ Male USB 2.0 - Male Type-C adapter

PS. If it's not possible to charge via powerbank, why would you give it a type-C port at all... Nobody is ever gonna use it for type-C AC power adapter, cause the port is on the right hand side... *palmface*

USB-C supports many voltages and there is a protocol for the power supply and the device to negotiate the requirements.  You have a laptop that needs 20V and a power bank that only outputs 5 volts.  If you look at your charger that came with your laptop, it can output 5V for your phone or 20V for your laptop.  (also 9V and 15V)  You need a better or smarter powerbank

Hi,

I am planning on buying a portable wall charger/powerbank and I just want to make sure it won't reduce my phone's battery life in the long run. The phone I have is a BLU Energy XL, which came with a 9V/2A charger that plugs into the wall. However, the powerbank that I am most interested in provides 5V/4.8 or 5V/3.0A (or Qualcomm 3.0, which I am actually not sure about the tech specs) and most powerbanks in general I believe provide something like 5V maximum from USB type ports. In looking up some articles, I discovered that one should try to match the voltage of a replacement power supply (in this case, analogous to my powerbank) to the original power supply because otherwise this may impact the battery's lifetime. Is that true?

In general for my knowledge, how does one convert between something like 9V/2A and 5V/3A in terms of the impact it has on a battery? I can kind of conceptually understand the impact that current has in that it really sets an upper limit for the Amps that a power supply can find and the higher the amps for a given voltage, the faster a device will charge. Not really sure about the impact of voltage? Can one just compare the power of the different chargers like 9*2= 16 watts vs 5*3=15 watts?

Thanks in advance!!

Several users (incl. me) have noticed that the battery of their Yoga 730 drains very quickly. Mine lasted barely 2 or 2.5 hours with moderate brightness and use. I was about to return it until I stumbled upon a solution: - In your BIOS switch the Graphic Driver from "Switchable Graphics" to "UMA Only" My battery life went up to 6.5 hours after making that change, with no noticeable difference in performance. (this will be different if you play games) - An additional solution is to buy an external laptop battery

My Yoga 730 used to be blissfully quiet but more recently the fan had become super active most of the time, even under what seemed to me normal or even minimal activity. I found out that the NVIDIA Display Container LS process was the likely culprit. If you open Task Manager (ctrl+alt+del) and then scroll down until you see NVDIA Display Container LS, select it and then 'end process' the problem stops. This also improved battery life. I'm not sure what the process does but have not experienced any negative effects from ending it. NVIDIA seems to be aware of the problem https://www.windowslatest.com/2019/04/29/nvidia-driver-430-39-high-cpu-usage-on-windows-for-some-use...

Hello I had this same issue on my brand new yoga 700, I resolved by doing installing a driver but it was tricky. this is my download page yours maybe different.  http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/yoga-series/yoga-700-14isk?TabName=Dow... Once you are on your product page follow these instructions.download the display driver. I had the VGA Driver.download an install your VGA driver. you can click the box that says install, but most likley it will fail. that is okay go to step 3type in device manager in the ask me anything in windows 10. click the device manager.double click display drivers and then right click your driver should say 520 if  the same as mine and chose update driversClick browse my computer for driver software, then click "let me browser from a list of drivers on my computer"then chose the dirver 10.18.15.4248 (it is an older dirver but it is more stable at the moment.)highlight it click next and install it.restart your computer and run the scan again.. you should no longer recieve the error.Keep checking back for a new driver or more stable one. these machines just came out so they need some tweeking.also make sure you always do windows updates to keep your computer in check. Also run lenovo companion, and that will scan and instll latest updates, i would not install the latest graphics driver because that is the one we rolled back. wait for a new one. you may email me for further questions at snoop_rogg... I purchased my Yoga 900 in June, 2016.  I recently experienced my battery not holding a charge for more than 3 hours.  I used the free version of Driver Talent to scan for updates to my drivers.  Two needed to be updated. I updated both, rebooted and my battery showed a charge period for 6 hours and 23 minutes.  I believe this occurred after the recent windows 10 update.   I had a difficult time trying to discern the exact solution by searching through this forum.  Hopefully, this post will help others to find a quick solution.

Hi all I bought what i thought was a great bluetooth solution to go with my phone and Yoga 520? A SONY Extra Bass MDR-XB70BTL neckband type set. many in ear phone i have had a low on the bass side so i thought it was a good idea - at the time  Oh the disappointment with the Yoga... I noticed that the sound on my Sennheiser x300 II set had more Bass than my Sony phone output but on the Yoga The SONY Extra Bass MDR-XB70BTL were not enjoyable. I like to hear some of the higher frequencies too! OK.. found the Dobly app; just change the setting... it does not work unless you plug some wired phones in; Bluetooth versions are not recognised so won't fire up the app. Then!!! I thought. I wonder if you do use wired phones, would the app remember the changes to any settings.. I'm glad to say it does. I chose the Dolby EQ setting and modified the very low frequencies down a tad - left the mids section alone and upped the mid to all but the last three sliders.. not much needed to make an appreciable difference. Swapped back to BT and voila! a great listening experience now.. Could tweak further and it is a little bit of a faff but at least I can use my new BT  might help someone..

A:Yoga 520 bluetooth headphones - the blues to solution

I just accidentally clicked on the Dolby icon... in the tray. I expected the usual pop up.. 'connect some headphones' and then expected the controls to disappear... NO.. the EQ settings i set from earlier came up.. I'll try my BT set later and just hope i can set these whilst they are on. it's looking good..

I have a two year old Thinkpad Yoga 370 running Windows 10  that I just love, but over the last year it's developed incurable trackpoint drift.  I've tried adjusting the sensitivity updating every driver I can think of, but still nothing.  I've just disabled it because its so maddening.  If I turn it on it will work for a few minutes, but then it will drift the cursor to the lower left corner of the screen and wobble back and forth in a small area.  Applying steady pressure 'up' and 'left' for a few seconds appears to re-calibrate it somewhat but within a minute or two it does the same thing.   Some questions: On this machine, what hardware driver controls the trackpoint & who is the manufacturer? Has anyone found a solution to this other than replacing the keyboard? (a frightful job) I've heard of other users who replaced the keyboard and the trackpoint drift came right back again.  Surely Lenovo must have some way for us to solve this issue.

Right. So, hello and thanks in advance. I have a ThinkPad Yoga 14, updated and running the latest version of Windows 10 Home 64-bit. First of all, I have to point out that this issue could not be an issue with app incompatibility because all Lenovo apps and programs are working, however LSC seems to be throwing up a strange error message. It has been displaying the same errror message since moment one of upgrading to W10, this issue wasn't present in W8.
Under system, I get a Software Update critical warning and it says:
"Windows Update
You never updated Windows
Status: out of date
Last update: not available
To update your operating system, you must run Windows Update.
[Launch]"
Strangely enough, no amount of clicking on the launch button will actually start wUpdate. And that's it. I've already recieved, downloaded and installed a dozen updates and the message is still there. On another post here in the forum I read that if updates weren't set to download and install automatically I would get that error, but I haven't changed any update settings. Everything is automatic. Instaling, downloading, everything. Any ideas?

Hi all After having serious problems booting win10 media and installation after bios update I described herehttps://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-S-Series-ThinkPad-Yoga/Yoga-S1-cannot-boot-any-data-media-rela... (the solution was to set usb in bios from auto to enabled) the OneLink Dock had no ethernet connection anymore, only wlan was left (haven't tested display and usb ports on dock). It seems that disabling usb in the bios not only re-enables ethernet, but also I have solid ethernet connection now and standby seems to work again and the notebook seems to switch off hardware after shutdown. I'm going on holidays so I have no time to test it out more. If that can be confirmed by other users here with the same problems (flapping ethernet, power management problems) maybe this should go into faq or sticky post. To me it end years of trouble. My final guess is that there is a hardware problem with usb3 that cannot be solved by new drivers. Otherwise it would have been done or commented on the forum... Enjoy

My Lenovo Solution Center ran a scan on my Yoga 2 Pro and said the Physical Memory failed the test.  I mainly use the computer to play an online RPG and have not had any problems with the computer whatsoever, so I can't say what the symptoms of the problem are because, as near as I can tell, here aren't any. The test is just one of the automatic scans that the Lenovo Solition Center runs. After seeing that the quick scan was saying the Physical Memory had failed the Quick Random Pattern Test, I opted to run a comprehensive test to see if that would tell me anything  It came up with the following result: Quick random pattern test - FailedAdvanced integrity test - FailedAddress Test - PassedBit low test - PassedBit high test - PassedWalking ones left test - FailedWalking ones right test - FailedModulo 20 test - PassedMoving inversions 8 bit test - FailedMoving inversions 32 bit test - FailedRandom pattern test - FailedRandom number sequence test - FailedBlock move test - Failed after running the comprehensive test, it gave me a result code of W1D7GR5ZM-EUMBP7 but I have no idea what that means or what I need to do about it, and searching the Lenovo support site for that code didn't turn up anything. I also could not find a way to email or call Lenovo to ask what it meant, so if anyone can tell me either what that means OR how I can find out what it means and what needs to be done, I'd greatly appreiciate it!

Hello, I?m using my yoga 720 13 for about a year and since I remember I have some problems with it.my bios time is about 16.5-20 seconds (the time the bios does post before logo of Lenovo is showing up). Secondly occasionally my laptop freeze, it happens mostly at startup. Other times after windows boots - I don?t have any network connection and even the windows troubleshoot says its hardware or driver failure that it cannot repair, and I must reset the laptop to make it work. Few months ago I had also lot of bluescreen that wrote something about ndis driver (also connected to the network driver). I?m not sure if all these problems are connected to each other but maybe they are. I?ve tried almost anything that I could think of. Played with settings in the bios, turn off fast boot, reinstall drivers, dism, sfc, checked the anti-virus and even uninstall it for testing it and reinstall again, bios is the latest, nothing is connected as usb drives and such, formatted and reinstall genuine windows 10, deleted all unnecessary softwares, deleted Lenovo junk and reinstall it and again deleted it, install all the ssd drivers and checked for hard disk failure, reset bios and also cmos. Probably checked other stuff also. Although when the laptop working is working ok, I still want to find the reason for the problems I?ve mentioned. Hope someone could think for a solution. Thanks for everyone who will try to bring ideas.

My windows 7 seems to be missing a number of files such as xp mode and the solution to a problem with loading Print Master 2012 platinum requires some folders that also appear to be missing... to fix the java.lang.reflect.InovationTargetExemption error, the trouble shooters recommended going into the users folder, click on the administrators folder, into the appdata file and then the local settings folder. Like stated in the description. the Lenovo Yoga Control Service require 3% out of the CPU, all the time. and the only thing the service does is checking the orientation of the screen, and disable keyboard and mouse when flipped. This is absurd, especially since it drains battery constantly. I hope that this will be fixed eventually, until that time, I will turn the service off and use the computer like a regular laptop.

I own a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Yoga (1st gen as a Yoga; 4th gen as a Carbon), Product 20FQCTO1WW. Starting two days ago, it randomly reboots. The event log shows that it has had an unexpected reboot ("The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."), but reading the events leading up to the reboot doesn't give me much of a clue as to why. The only interesting events are messages that a core of the CPU is being throttled ("The speed of processor X in group 0 is being limited by system firmware. The processor has been in this reduced performance state for 71 seconds since the last report."). I took the bottom cover off and agressively blew compressed air in every crevice. This did remove some dust buildup, but the system wasn't as dirty as I expected. In fact, it looked pretty clean. I also vaccuumed. And I removed the fan and thermal heatsink and throughly blew compressed air through it and made sure that there was no gunk clogging the heatsink air fins. After reassembling, it seems to be slightly more stable, but it has still rebooted a few times. There are lots of threads where people complain about fan noise and ask how they can reduce the speed of their fan. I'd like to run mine at max 100% of the time (noise be darned) for a few days just to see if that keeps the system from randomly rebooting. However, I don't know of a sofware setting where I can control... Read more
