Well, I own a D-Link DIR-615 Router, And I forgot my router log-in, AND Wi-Fi Passwords. I went on a trip somewhere, and my computer was reset when I left with it. (Still have PC connected though.) And I just CANNOT reset the thing. I tried default etc etc. But I need to find a way... =\ I still have one Vista computer working with it, But the password comes out to: ***** or dots. (its hidden) Is there a way to show them?
Also, Is there a way to change your MAC adress?
I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)
As I think that you already know, the solution is to reset the router to factory defaults. When you reconfigure it tape the pertinent account/password/encryption key information to the bottom of the router.
Some ISPs track the MAC Address of the device connected to the modem. It is perfectly fine and easily done to clone the registered MAC address to the router's WAN to avoid having to call the ISP. There is no other need that I know of to change a MAC Address.

Forgot My Administrator Password, for my HP 2000 Notebook PC.
Hi, If you're running Windows 8 or 8.1, see the Microsoft page on the following link. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows-8/forgot-windows-password Note: If you have a Local Account, try the free application Here. If you're running Windows 7, Vista etc, try the following. Using another PC, download the application on the following link and save it to your Downloads folder. PC Login Now When the download has completed, open your Downloads folder and double-click the installer - this will result in another file appearing which is the disc image ( .ISO ) that you need to burn to a blank CD. You will now need to use an application such as ImgBurn to burn this ISO correctly to a blank CD - a guide on using ImgBurn to write an ISO to a disc is Here. When the disc has been created, shutdown the PC you can't log-in on, tap away at the esc key as soon as you press the power button to access the Start-up Menu, insert the CD, select Boot Options ( usually f9 ), use the arrow keys to select the CD/DVD drive and hit enter - you may also have to 'Press any key' to boot from the CD if asked. Follow the instructions on the guide Here to remove the current password. Regards, DP-KRead other 4 answers
I just got the notebook, I didn't know prior to set up the password I needed to create a password reset disk. Now I can't remember what my password is and I am stuck, cannot use my new laptop. I tried the number listed on your answer to the above people, it didn't work for me. please help!sunflower5
Hi, One option, if all your personal data etc is backed-up or you have nothing you need to save, would be to reset the notebook to its 'Factory Condition' and then set it up from the beginning ? if you don?t have your Recovery Media, the notebook will have shipped with a Recovery Partition which can be accessed at boot - ie shutdown the notebook, then start tapping away at f11 as soon as you power on. A full guide on this can be found on the following link. http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04758961 Regards, DP-KRead other 3 answers

I forgot my password and was told by a HP tech to reset my computer. After the reset all the preloaded software did not come back. I asked HP for help but all they told me was that my lap-top is out of warranty.I did not receive any recover disk or product key activation codes. What can I do?
Michael510 Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!I read your post about problems resetting your laptop and wanted to help -- but need more information. If you can, please follow the directions in this link to find the detailed product number of your PC: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824?jumpid=reg_r1002_usen_c-001_title_r0001If that is not possible, then look for a sticker on the PC that includes the product number and post that here. If the battery is removable, the sticker is likely to be in the battery compartment. I see you're running Win10. Did the PC come preinstalled with Win10? Or, did you upgrade it from a prior OS to Win10? If you did the upgrade, how long ago was that, and what was the prior OS? If there was a prior OS, were you trying to reset it to the prior OS, or were you trying to reset it to Win10? We can proceed once you provide the information.ThanksRead other 1 answers

I changed my laptop admin password one night in a hurry and forgot to write it down. I don't have a reset disk either. Can anyone help me get back into my laptop? I really need to get in there. Thanks in advance.
Hello @FORGETFUL1 Is this related to Windows passwordor BIOS start-up password ?Please, clarify. By Reset disk you mean a one for Windows to reset your PC to factory default condition ? * If related to Windows account password, please check this forum thread >> http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/I-forgot-my-password-can-HP-help... * If related to BIOS/startup password before Windows loads In this case, please enter some password (wrong password) 3 times, press ENTER and you should receive a new window stating system disabled and a code similar to this one (For HP Mini, should be 10 characters) : Please, take note of the system disabled/halted code (write it down). Visit this web site >> https://bios-pw.org/and enter the system disabled codeClick on "Get password" button there and you will receive your unlock code. Take note of the HP computers password and enter it in the system disabled screen , press ENTER. This will unlock your BIOS/reset security settings and PC should be able to start Windows (if WIndows can load). Let me know how it goes. Provide your feedback/update.Read other 1 answers
I Forgot My Windows 7 User Login Password. Guest is disabled. What is the best way to reset my user account? PS: I didn't have a reset disk.
Deukriely You need to Google for Trinity Rescue Kit, download the ISO file, and make a CD or USB stick from that. When you boot from that, it will give you the option to blank your password. Once you have done that, you can then login to Windows and reset it.Good LuckRead other 3 answers
Hi, very stupidly I have forgotten the admin password for a laptop and don't have it written down anywhere.
However there is no data on the laptop that I need to retrieve as I had only recently wiped it.
I have these discs :
Four of these :
And one of these :
I also have the OS product Key...
So I'm just wondering what the general method is for this as I've never done it before?
If You mean the Windows Password, Given that You indicate no data to be saved. Just boot off of the Disk 1 of the 1 of 4 and follow the onscreen instructions. Those disks will restore it back to the condition it was in when You bought it.
Is there any way to get it? I tried this...
And the CMD one is stopped because the admin/password is not admin/admin or admin/1234
I tried the WirelessKeyView and it comes up blank, no info at all.
Windows 7: Select Properties and then check the Show Characters box. Doing this will display the passcode.
There is no Show Characters box
Is there any way of getting it? Or could I reset my wireless modem some how so I can just redo the password?
Oh crap I just realized some thing... My PC is hooked up by cable. My mom's laptop, Nook, and my PS3 are wireless. No wonder I can't use my PC to figure out the wireless password because it isn't hooked up by wireless. Wow duh, just gotta figure out how to find it on her laptop.(She got a new nook and can't connect it because we can't remember the password she used)
Ok, got it, done, you guys can delete this. I swear it was literally like a lightbulb moment. "Wait, my PC is hooked up by a cable, not wireless, so that's why the wirelesskeyfinder isn't working. As soon as I tried it on my mom's laptop? Bingo!
Glad to hear you resolved the issue.Read other 3 answers
Went into system restore. I need to choose a "restore point" but not sure which one to safely choose. The options are:
Install: Windows Update
System: Schedule checkpoint
The dates are very recent. Which do I choose??
Choose the most current, if it goes past the point that you had a problem. If you did not make any changes, the only effect of update will be that you have to install the upadates, again. No personal stuff should be touched.Read other 3 answers

You can reset it. It should have some sort of reset button. That should clear the settings though. You may have to re-set up your wireless and stuff.
Default password was username "admin" and no password as far as I can tell
Hi, I have a Belkin Router model F5D7230-4 i forgot the password can anybody help me, because i want to use the wireless connection
Read the forum rules. We aren't allowed to deal with passwords.
However, go to Belkin's forums. They might be able to help.
Good evening. I was hoping that someone would be able to help me access the security code that I had encrypted my router with. I lost the code and have tried calling d-link to no avail. I tried entering th ip address for the router and it is asking for passwords (that I forgot).
How ironic, I've presently got the same issue
What I'm going to do, is use a pin (or pen) and push and hold the little reset button in (I think its 5 secs on mine)
The reset button will be located on the router somewhere (look closely, mines at the back)
Anyway, you will obviously need your Username and password for the Internet to be put back in the settings area, again (in the router)

i forgot the password for my router...if i reset my router can i configure it without the software cd (which i dunno where i put anymore =(...) from the browser straight?
Really don't need to use the CD at all, it's main purpose it to help you get the router going if you never ever done anything like that before. Think of the CD has Mr Virtual Network Tech. Now if you forgot the password, and boy how I stress users to write that down and lock it in box or somewhere safe. Make sure power is to the router, and press the reset button for 30 seconds to 60 seconds. Then unplug the power and do it again with out power press the reset button for 30 seconds to 60 seconds.
Now after all that wait 30 seconds more.. Plugin the power and give it a try now...

I am trying to set up my kindle but can't remember my password for my wifi connection.... is there a way to change a password
Hi: Do you know your password to get into your router's configuration menu? If so, go in there, look at your wireless security menu and your passkey or password will be found there. Then just enter that into your Kindle. If you don't know that either, you will need to get your router's instruction manual that you may have ,or can be found on the manufactuer's website, read the procedure on how to reset your router to the factory default settings, and set it all up from scratch again. There is usually a little recessed button you need to push in and hold for 15 seconds or so with a blunt toothpick or something. PaulRead other 9 answers

So, I installed Windows 10 last week. Yesterday I explored a bit and discovered Windows Edge, their new email/ outlook client. I attached my personal Gmail address to the service as well as my corporate address. My corporate account required me to create a new password that fit my company's security standards, which I did, but, after feeling like my company address was restricting how I use my personal home computer, I removed that address. Here's where I get fuzzy, I cannot, for the life of me remember, if I changed my password back to one that didn't conform to my company's security standards or if I left it alone. All I know is that once my computer locked later that night, I was unable to get back in. I've tried every permutation of every password, including that corporate password, I've ever used with no success.
I do not have a password reset disk nor do I have a system repair disk with which to reinstall Windows 10.
So, how screwed am I? Will I have to reinstall Windows 7, the last OS I have a disk for, and hope I can reupgrade to Windows 10?
I did not attach my MSN email address (aka my Microsoft Account) to my computer, so resetting my password that way is a no go.

Here's my question: Once I do this, how do I reset the password on my wife's laptop, so that she can connect to the internet?
Thank you, help is greatly appreciated.
the laptop should ask you for the password, when yu try to connect but if it does not
maybe in your start list - connect to
or control pane
right click on the wireless connection
click on the name of your wireless
and you should see the place to enter a key there - it will be filled with ********
