Q: My HP Pavilion All-in-One - 27-n113w (Touch) can not turn on...

My computer just won't turn on anymore. I tried almost everything on the forums about how to turn it back on. But it still won't turn on. So I took it to a local computer repair shop, they said my mother board is damaged. But they didn't look at the mother board, they just tested out the power cord and see if it gives off the right amount of amps. They said it does. So I'm lost and don't know what to do, this is my first computer and I use it for just about everything. If anyone has a tip or two that would be helpful.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I'm dealing with the same issue and completely stuck, the troubleshooting guides aren't bad but just not helping me understand what I need to undo or do, so I can get Windows to pop back up.  I understand not having a 24hr tech support, certainly not a free one but a live chat room or assist tool so you can maybe get someone to point you in the right direction would be nice.

As I was using my laptop, a Y50-70 Touch, it turned itself off and now I've been unable to turn it back on at all. When I hit the Power Button it lights up for a second or so, as do the white LED indicator lights on the front of the laptop, but nothing else happens, the keyboard backlights doesn't turn on and there are no other sounds from the laptop, no fans, nothing. It does this with the power cord plugged and the battery in and every other configuration possible, nothing. I'v removed the battery and tried to discharge any additional charge left by holding the power button down for extended periods of time, I've also hit it at least 30 times or more. It doesn't do anything when the battery is put back in. I've tried this multiple times. I've checked every connector and they all seem perfectly fine. Im out of warranty so I can't send it in to be fixed. This laptop has been a disaster, the screen constantly flickers and the hinges are both cracked. I'll never buy another Lenovo.

Browsing numerous forums on laptop relative to Touch Pad after receiving my own this Christmas. Not only is the Touch Pad sensitivity set way too light as a default, but the left and right click buttons are way too hard. There is no question that HP needs to Recall all of there laptops that use this same touch pad and replace them with a pad that has a lot lighter spring. There is no way my two younger boys or an older person with weak fingers could even use these buttoms. Please assist all who are promoting this recall to convince HP that replacement of these touch pads is necessary if want any kind of customer satisfaction and no loss of product image. I believe they are going to be getting a lot of requests from many wanting to return their laptops with full refunds due to this issue. Cecil

The Model series did have a touchscreen option so theoretically you could buy the touchscreen assembly and retrofit it to your current chassis. Likely you would be looking at something like $3-400 for parts and labor. There is no backlit keyboard option.  The economics of the touchscreen upgrade do not really make sense. You would likely come out better buying a new laptop and selling yours so at least you could retain a warranty.

Ok bought my computer on July 31st from Best buy, could not have been happier, then last weds Oct 19th morning I received a message from HP to install urgent updates. Well I had some time so I decided to indeed do the update, what followed was a nightmare, the message said restart after telling me it had completed, from that point on my machine as been stuck at the white HP logo circle. They sent me a flash drive to do a recovery, the instructions did not macth what was coming up on my screen, to cut a very long story short and countless number of phone calls to India, my machine is stuck. I think we have tried pretty much everything, talked to three different tech agents on Sunday all of them had different solutions none of which worked, one said you have a great machine there, I said not right now its freaking not working. Any ideas on what transpired here.

Hello! Just recently (within the last week or so) my touch screen has been acting up. I can sometimes click on things - such as switched between tabs. But sometimes when I click it will highlight a word on the screen instead of taking me to the link I'd like. On top of that, I'm completely unable to scroll using my touch screen. I have to use the mouse pad or the arrows on the keyboard. I'm still able to use the mousepad for everything so it isn't like the laptop doesn't function, but it's irritating that I can't use the tablet mode. I bought this model so I could use it in both laptop and tablet mode. I'd really appreciate it if someone helped me solve this issue.

Purchased "HP Pavilion Laptop-gaming 17t touch" and have now found two specs that are NOT as listed on the HP store website, without even powering it on yet: Display '17.3" diagonal FHD IPS UWVA anti-glare WLED-backlit (1920 x 1080) Touchscreen' is NOT anti-glare--it is highly reflective, so much so that it is unusable in our office environment--it is basically a mirror. Weight is listed as 6.06 lb -- however, I just weighed it, and it is 7.29 lb!  That's 1 1/4 pounds or 20% heavier than it is supposed to be.  That is a significant difference! Has anyone else purchased this laptop and found this to be the case?  Very false advertising. Makes me wonder how realistic the supposed "Up to 9 hours and 30 minutes" of battery life is compared to other similar models.

This started recently and may have something to do with the fact that I switch back and forth between using the laptop as is with the touch pad and using it with a Logitech usb mouse at times.Seems that switching back and forth *shouldn't* cause a problem though.Anyway I get the "disappearing cursor" with both the touchpad and with the USB rollerball type mouse. What happens is it works fine then suddenly disappears then I have to move the cursor all over the place (without being able to see it) in order to eventually get it to appear again. This is annoying as heck and takes a lot of time, not just a second or two - sometimes I move the cursor around for 30 seconds or so before it reappears.I do not have "hide cursor when typing enabled". When trying to check the driver via Device Drivers it shows that it is the latest one but I kinda doubt it as I don't think I've ever updated it. IF it needs a new driver where do I find it? Thanks for your help, this is a big problem, really interrupts my productivity.
