Crash during the install of various games

Q: Crash during the install of various games

Hello, everyone. This is my first post. But I'm not a computer noob. And I have some serious problems that are annoying me. So le't get started.

I have 2 desktop computers.
The first one - Epox 8rda3+ pro
Athlon 2000+
Nvidia 6600GT 128mb
256 mb DDR
I bought this computer from another guy so I don't know how this problem occured. During the installation of many games, the error like "file bla bla bla is corrupt" ignore/abort/retry. Not a chance that the registry is damaged, because I tried re-installing windows a couple of thousand times. Tried with different set of programs. I don't have any ideas left.

And the second computer - Sempron 2800+ (but since I bought it, the Windows recognizes it like AMD Engeneering Sample XX and it's annoying me)
ASUS K8N-E Deluxe
Nvidia 6600GT 128 mb
512 mb DDR
Maybe I'll go off the topic, since this problem isn't with games alone. Installations are crashing without sense. Nvidia drivers, codecs, even games. The games crashes on the same way like on the first computer, but the thing is that my MS Office is crashing too, and it works on the first one. As a matter of fact, lot's of things pass on the first one and crash on the second one. Just like on the first computer, tried to reinstall Windows a couple of thousand times. No-freaking-way!

Hope you have a cure for these garbage cans. Thanks in advance.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

A: Crash during the install of various games

256MB of DDR is rather low. I'm assuming your using legitimatly purchased games?

Also it would be advisable to post the exact error details so we can assist you better.

Ever since I installed new RAM, which was 2 sticks of Silicon Power 8x2 RAM, my games have been crashing, and occasionally, I will get a blue screen of death. I tried using my original RAM, but it only uses 4gb out of 8gb, and some of my games won't launch. I tried ordering 2 sticks of 4gb RAM, but the problem keeps occurring. I have also tried to switch around my RAM in every combination, to no avail. I'm out of ideas, and I need some help.

Hey all,
I'm having an issue with my ASUS F5GL laptop. If I try to launch a game like Counter-Strike: Source, Garry's Mod or Just Cause 2, not long after actually leaving the menu and beginning to play (anywhere between 2-5min), the whole laptop just silently crashes. I checked ALL the logs, and there is nothing in there, except something recorded at boot, saying the computer was not cleanly shutdown. When it does crash, a second before it crashes, a weird thin horizontal line appears in a random location on the screen, going all the way across the screen. This was happening under Windows Vista, but I just bought and did a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium, and it's still happening. I have updated my drivers and it still happens. Hi. I've recently been trying to play Metal Gear Solid 5 but every time I boot it up my PC either crashes as soon as the splash screens are done or after a few minutes. It's been crashing while playing other games as well but it's been much rarer. It's not a BSOD crash and it doesn't produce any crash dumps so I'm leaning towards it being a problem with either the PSU, the motherboard or one of the graphics cards. Any help with finding the cause of this would be appreciated.
The PSU model is fd-psu-newt2-800, the graphics cards are both Nvidia GTX760s and the motherboard is a ASUS Sabertooth Z77

Hi there, I have been having this problem for the last 5 days and need help.

I recently bought an M.2 SSD and installed it in my PC with no problem. I also removed the old thermal paste and put some new, cleaned all the fans and the heatsink, etc...I installed Windows 10 from a bootable pendrive and downloaded all the latest updates, drivers and my usual programs. I also updated my BIOS to the latest version. The only thing I kept is some files from my old computer, mostly photos and documents.

Everything worked fine before changing from my old SSD and HDDs to the new one, but now after just a few seconds of opening whatever game I get this error: ''Video driver crashed and was reset. Make sure your drivers are up to date. Exiting...''. Sometimes it even shuts down my computer with no error, the game just freezes for a few seconds, then everything goes black for some more seconds and it just shuts down. I fixed this by increasing the page file size, now it doesn't shut down anymore, just goes black for a few seconds and then I get the error and the game closes. Some other games, for example, Fallout 4, just close after around 15 seconds of playing, no error or anything.

Okay so yesterday I install a new GPU (XFX Radeon HD4350) and I installed the drivers etc.. fine.

So yesterday I was playing my games as usual. But today, I decided to play San Andreas Multiplayer and after so many minutes in game I crash to desktop. It is the same with my other games. After the crash I then try to restart the games again but it goes to a black screen as if it's about to load the game for a second then just returns to normal desktop.

I have no idea what's wrong. I unistalled all ATI software, uninstalled my GPU drivers then re-installed only my GPU drivers.

After all this it's the same, game knocks off after so many minutes ...

ALSO one important thing I noticed yesterday when playing Team Fortress 2 and Counter Strike: Source I think was at the TOP right corner in of my screen I had the text: WARNING: OS Paged Pool Memory Low
Same as this:

Also the San Andreas Game did give me a BSOD once today with the following:

Hello all, question for you...

I just got a nice new Samsung LCD 1080 HDTV and connected it to my computer via DVI ->HDMI connection on my 8800gtx. Everything works fine, set up refresh rate, resolution and color bits to factory recommended. Only problem is that ALL of my games crash before they can load, (Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance, Oblivion, Black and White: Battle of the Gods...etc) the only thing that I can run that even resembles a game is futuremark 06. I downloaded and installed the most recent Nvidia drivers and that still didn't seem to help. Anyone have thoughts on what might be causing this?

After a year of playing Imperial Glory with no problems all of my games began to crash - even the ones that previously worked well. After a few minutes of playing any game there would be lines stretching from the centre of the screen outwards. After flashing for a few seconds the lines would stick, the game would freeze and I would have to restart. This only happens when I play games - everything else works fine. This happens to Oblivion, Call of Duty 2 and Civilization IV as well.

Since then I have updated my RAM from 256MB to 1.25GB. I have a GeForce 6600 GT, Dell Dimension 5000 with Pentium (R) 4 CPU 2.80 GHz, 1.25GB of RAM and Windows XP. I have removed the dust from the graphics card and the fan but it just delayed the problem by 5 minutes. The problem is still there.

Any suggestions?

A:All Games Crash

Maybe the graphics chipset is going out. If possible, try popping in a new card and see if you get the same problem. When you have a "lines on monitor" problem, it is usually the graphics card causing it. It's probably not the monitor itself because the lines would be there all the time.

If for some reason you can't get another card without buying one, take it out and revert to your onboard video and see what happens.

Hi, I'm running Windows XP SP2, and I seem to have run into some sever problems. A little while back I had some problems with a game crashing back to desktop before it reached the main menu; that is to say I say the intro things and the loading. So I asked him for his .exe of the game, and I replaced it, and everything was fine for a few days. Yesterday the same problem came up, l but this time replacing the file didn't fix it. I replaced most of the files and it still didn't work. Then I tried 2 of my other games, and both of those crashed before reaching the main menu. I figured that it was hardware related so I updated my Catalyst drivers to 4.11, but still no luck. (I have an Ati Radeon 9200SE 128mb) I tried turning off hardware acceleration, but then the games just crashed immediately. I ran chkdsk and dxdaig, but none of them had any problems. I'm really stumped as to what the problem could be, and any help would be appreciated.

I have a fresh install of Vista, updated 181.22 drivers for my 9800GTX, updated chipset drivers, updated BIOS, SP1 installed... all the stuff tech. support would tell you. lol
My specs: 9800GTX, Intel e6600 (OC'ed to 3.2GHz - don't worry, temps are cool), 4GB 800MHz DDR2 Corsair XMS2 RAM, EVGA 680i LT Mobo, 550W PSU

I am an experienced PC user, but I cannot seem to track this one down. Maybe it's because I am relatively new to Vista. I hope that is the reason. Here is my problem:

EVERY game I play crashes with a "<process name>.exe has stopped working" error. This includes all Steam games, World in Conflict, Rise of Legends. Yes, all games are patched and up to date.
I tracked down the errors in the system logs:
For World in Conflict I am getting "faulting module kernel32.dll"...
For Rise of Legends I am getting "faulting module Legends.exe"...
For Steam I am getting "faulting module gameui.dll_unloaded"...

I have been unmotivated to try any other games. The crashes are random too... I can play WiC for hours without a crash, then load it up the next day and it crashes in the first 10 minutes.
It's not my temps... I am running Riva Tuner and monitoring my GPU temps constantly. They are normal for this card - hovering around high 60s. Never had these problems with XP.

I am stuck guys...

A:All games crash! Help.

Check the card is correctly installed and that the power connector is hooked up. If all is good there, try switching drivers. Also check that your overclocks aren't the cause of your gaming issues.

Lastly, I see you have a 550W PS, though I'm not one for encouraging people to upgrade to super duper power supplies (wattage wise), for your system you "might" have to look at a higher wattage PS (maybe 650-750).

I myself am running an Antec 550W PS and have an ATI 4850, however If I were to upgrade my video card to a 4870 or go crossfire with my 4850?s I?d upgrade my PS to around a 650 or so.

All games crash and go to the "end task" screen.

The problem has been around for months, even before i started using windows 8 (i was on windows 7) and i don't know how to get rid of it.
My pc won't crash doing anything else, just games.

Games I play on my pc:
Gta 4
Chivalry Modern Warfare
League of Legends

Troubleshooting -
I have taken apart my computer and re-seated all hardware and cleaned it so it is free of dust.
I have a GPU temp monitor and the Gpu goes up to around 65 Degrees so it's definitely not the GPU temp.
I have Run a memory test with windows 8 built in memory test but the results showed no errors.
I've reinstalled windows 8.
Tested 3 different drivers, with no difference as an outcome.

To me, doing an entire format of my OS HDD and reinstalling windows 8 isolates it to a hardware issue.

More info:
All games run smoothly while they are in operation. 30 FPS +
All games crash with only an "End Task" option available.
Please let me know if you want any error logs or information.
Thanks in advance for any hints or tips.

Funny, I can install certain games such as;

The Chronicles of Riddick
Dawn of War: Winter Assult
Company of Hero's
GT Legends

And several more. The problem is that when executing the .exe The moment the program checks the CD/DVD, an error comes up. Whats funny? If I download a no-cd crack, all the games work. Something is preventing the .exe to work in conjunction with the CD/DVD drive. One other game that I have is an expansion for Rollercoaster Tycoon. That won't even install.. Since the expansion goes directly to the installation folder, it crashes even before its installed. No pop-up window or anything. It just doesn't work at all.

Can you please help me?

I've been in the field of IT for nearly 10 years now and I just cannot figure this issue out. I used to never have issues with crashing until about 18 months ago. I would get a random crash here and there, but nothing major. Beginning of last year I was playing a few games and they started crashing. I was playing Rift and that had consistent crashing issues and I would BSOD many times a day, but only while playing.

I thought it was a faulty GFX card, so I did an RMA for the device. I got the new one and it didn't help, so then I checked the memory. It seems that 1 or 2 sticks of RAM were not functioning properly and would not boot the computer.

I then decided it was time to build a new PC, since I wanted to move to DDR3 over 2. I bought all of the new parts and installed everything like I normally do. I installed my games and everything was working well for a day or two. Two days later, my games start crashing again. There were only a few things I didn't replace on the new PC.

I kept:

Sound Card

I then replaced the PSU and got an SSD. These didn't fix the issue either. To this day, no matter what game I play, I experience consistent crashing. Rebooting the PC seems to fix the issue for a while, but then it starts again.

I've reinstalled the OS, run virus scans, built a new computer, etc. I cannot figure out what the hell is going on. Is it possible that the OS is corrupt? I notice, regardless of brand of the GPU, I get consistent &qu... Read more

Hi Jscuzza,

I understand your frustration, it wasn't all too long ago I had a crashing issue that drove me crazy.

Could you post your Mainboard brand/model and PSU brand/model please.

Also, have you tried stripping your rig down to the bear minimum and testing this way?
Removing Extra HDD's
Using On-Board sound/graphics
Using 1 stick of memory
Limiting the amount of cores to 4

Tried the following?
Checking for unsafe temperatures
Checking for hardware damage
Updating main drivers (graphics, sound, bios)
Updating to SP1 and other Windows updates
Run HDD diagnostic tools
Tried a 32bit OS

Sorry if some of it sounds a little patronizing, it's just good to see where you're up to

So i go into Apex, everything is five but after a few seconds it crashes, i go into training and it crashes, Division 2 runs but only at the lowest settings and i can only run it at 60 hz and my monitor is 144 hz, i tried reinstalling and uninstalling the drivers, reset to factory setting by not removing my files and by removing apps and keeping my personal files, i uninstalled and re installed all the games and launchers in different drives, running in admin mode, turning off gsync, repairing corrupted files, going to an old version of nvidia drivers, ran ccleaner, driver updater, and some other solutions also when i run dxdiag it says "dxdiag has detected there might be a problem accessing the system information". Its getting kind of frustrating and i havent been able to play any games except league of legends... i really dont want to reset everything again and lose everything this time and i honestly have no clue what might be the problem at this point, this would be a tough one to solve ladies and gents.

Hi all

I recently bought a new machine (specs below) and every game i try seems to crash. It closes to the desktop and says the application needed to close. Sometimes it happens after 5 minutes and sometimes after a couple of hours.

The games i have tried so far are ...
Bloodbowl - crashes after every match pretty much
Dragon age Origins - intermitten crashing
Just Cause 2 - frequent crashes
Gothic 3 - frequent crashes
Empire Total War - occasional crashing

The specs are

Hello, I am playing a first person shooter, Crimecraft, and basically when I die in battle right before the respawn loads the game crashes randomly at some point. My computer far surpasses the minimum spec's required and the graphics really are not all that good in the game itself, nothing too spectacular.

Now when looking for solutions to this problem I find that there are way too many possibilities and not enough ways to tests these things. Its kind of like saying what's wrong with your car and saying it's the engine. In other words people trying to give help are saying it could be anything in your computer or the game itself.

If you check your graphics card, not overheating and the game runs smoothly, check the ram memtest nothing, do clean startup no programs interfering, what's left? Well maybe the game itself, uninstall/reinstall still the same problem. What is left to try? All these posts on forums for pc games crashing have 10+ pages with all of them ending in "my game is still crashing plz help".

So my question is why would a game crash while loading on a new computer?

I have a problem. I am a gamer with a fairly descent computer but for some reason, about half the games I try end up crashing a minute or two after the program is started. Everything in the game works like it's supposed to, but at some point the screen freezes and the keyboard and mouse can't do anything. If there is background noise or music, it will continue looping over and over. This happens at about the same time every time the game is run, whether I am playing the game at the time or in a menu. I have tried control-alt-delete but it has no effect. The only thing that I can do is press the restart button on the computer itself. I am pretty sure it doesn't have to do with my video card because just about everything is supposed to work with the Voodoo series.
Before beginning the games that crash, I have quit everything on the system tray and shut down every little unnecessary program running in the background, but the game still crashed. I have even gone into System Information and turned off everything that starts up with windows.

Here's a list of my components
AMD K6 300 Mhz processor
QDI Titanium 2B Motherboard
Windows 98 Second Edition
Voodoo 3 3000 PCI
Turtle Beach Montego sound card
128 megs RAM

I got a new computer a month or so ago, and have spent a decent amount trying to fix this (with help from various others). I gave up for a couple of weeks, and have decided to start trying again.

The problem is that every game I have tried crashes. It runs the latest games smoothly on maximum settings, but they crash. It runs old games smoothly, but they also crash. The crashes are mostly to desktops, but some are BSoDs (too quick to see number).

The thing is I think I've swapped out every component. (Or I think I have, I may have missed something)

Here is what I have:
Intel Core 2 Duo 8400
ATI Radeon 4850
3 GB RAM in a 1GB stick and 2GB stick
Gigabyte S series motherboard (GA-G31M-S2L)
Sound Blaster 5.1 VX
A DVDRW drive
500 Watt PSU

I've dumped in another fan also.

Something is overheating, or your video card is dying.,,, Also make shure your BIOS is to default and dont OC the video card. Leave the side door open on the case, and put a house fan to it.

If it happens again then its not overheating. Its something else. Probably messed up video drivers or something....,,

I think this is the right section to post in. Recently, all of the new games I buy end in a crash. They are unplayable!

Last two games are Assassins Creed Brotherhood and the fresh Hunted: The Demons Forge

After a few minutes of gameplay, I receive a don't send error. For Hunted, I get:

AppName: p4dftre.dll AppVer: ModName: kernel32.dll
ModVer: 5.2.3790.4480 Offset: 0002237e

Can you provide a JCGriff Report as instructed here? I understand these aren't BSODs, but the report generated is very thorough and provides us with a good amount of resources to look at this with.

Hello all.
I am new to these forums and need some help. Many of the other posts are of BSOD's, but mine is different. Outside of games my computer performs and runs perfectly fine and same with games, until recently.

Just recently (no, i have not installed ANYTHING) my computer started crashing during games only. It's wierd because normally people get BSOD, but in my case i get repeating sound and still image. Even if i let it sit there for a while it still doesnt give me a blue screen. I am forced to reboot using my reset button. At first it was only with CoD2, which i thought it was specific only to that game, but the other day i was playing EQ2 and the sound froze and image froze. The sound, lets say of me slashing, keeps repeating.

I have the latest drivers for my Graphics card and for my sound card and dont know why this started happening. The wierd thing is that i havent installed anything. Ive diagnosed my HD and nothing comes up, ive scanned my comp and its clean, ive yet to check the ram but willdo tonight. I hope its not the ram, and its compatible w/my Mobo (checked before i bought it). Ill try updating as many drivers as possible, but again... it shouldnt be this because it ran perfectly earlier with these drivers.

Ive had a chipset problem on my mobo a long time ago, but doubt it was this because that was about 2 months ago and games have been running fine afterwards (of course, until now). Also, Ive had SP2 from the getgo, so it shouldnt b... Read more

Hi all, I've had an ongoing problem with gaming on a PC I made recently. When playing games, namely CS:GO, COD Black ops, Crysis and others on Steam, my PC will crash completely. Ie. the screen will go blank, sound will start jumping and I am forced to hard reset - no BSOD or data dumps!

I have stress tested all the main components ie. CPU, GFX card & RAM, all of the tests I have tried have passed perfectly fine. I monitor temps during gameplay and the hottest component is the GFX card which never goes over around 65C.

My main problem is being unable to find a way of diagnosing the problem, the system seems to just fail completely and is unable to generate a memory/data dump.

Please help me!! I have had this problem for months now (

I know there is probably something really obvious here but I can't see it.
This PC keeps crashing (lines across the screen) when I try to play games.

xp sp2
p4 2.93 ghz
1024 mb ram 266mhz
x1950 pro 256mb pci express
530w Hiper PSU
foxconn motherboard rc4107ma-s2

All I want is to play games at 1280x1024 res at good quality.

In company of heroes I can play at max settings for a few minutes and then it crashes with multicoloured lines all across the screen, the same in test drive unlimited and stalker.
The card never goes above 51 c, I can see this after a game crashes in the CCC through the wonky screen.
The power for the card is via two molex connectors to 6pin connector as each 12v rail has 18a ...so 36a with 80% effeciency ....31A which is enough power right.

The processor meets the games' requirements.... or at least the ones given in gamespot

I built my PC in November of 2017 and have had the same problem with it for almost the entire time I have had it. Whenever I enter into a game, it crashes, or after a few seconds to a few minutes of playing it crashes to desktop, without a code.

There was a period of time (around three months) where my computer was working flawlessly. However then the same problem started up again. It started working again after I had been installing a motherboard speaker (because at that time the entire PC crashed occasionally). Then my problem was fixed, but after three months of smooth sailing, it wouldn't work again.

At this point in time, all of my games except for the original Star Wars Battlefront 2 and Minecraft (although Minecraft crashes to desktop as soon as it begins raining, while swimming, etc.) crash to desktop with this problem.

If I don't get any help from this site I am going to take my PC to an IT shop, and if THAT doesn't work I am going to sell it for parts.

My dxdiag will be attached.

Hi! Recently (past month or two) My computer has had sudden crashes during certain games (Warframe, HOTS) while during others (DayZ) it can run without any interruption for hours. It's become more frequent (still the same games) recently and has become quite the problem. At first I wasn't sure if it was hardware or software related. I tried re-installing my drivers but nothing changed. Thought it may have been DirectX related but I read up on how to re-install it and wasn't sure I knew how to handle that process properly without messing anything up further. Ran a sfc /scannow a few times. I had corrupted files pop up but was told it was most likely not the cause of any crashes as the corruption was due to a recent windows update and my problem has been going on for months. Some important things to note:- I've been playing HOTS for over a year with no problems until around 2 months ago when it started crashing my computer.- Warframe is a game I've picked up recently (Past week or so) and had no problems initially (first day or 2) but it's gotten to the point where it'll crash within the first 10 mins of me launching the game.- I've closed all running programs with both games to make sure there weren't any conflicting programs and still crashed. (also can play DayZ with anything open and have no problems)- I've verified both. Warframe had errors I re-installed multiple times through both steam and their site but still crash. HOTS came up with no errors when I did a rep... Read more

Hi all,

Had a problem lately where my graphic card driver stopped responding and crashed. Comp restart, run game, crash again. Bad cycle. To be precise this happened after i first initiated 'Dark Souls 2' - I haven't got to play after then.

I manage to find minidump file and have attached it here. For some reason i cant copy or even delete the latest dump file so I have posted the older file here.

Here are my system information:

Processor: Intel i5 3470
Board: Asrock B75-Pro3-M
Graphic card: Leadtek GTX 660ti
Graphic card Driver: Nvidia 335.23

The system was 1 year old without any problem, and I did not overclock the system.

Appreciate your help folks!

A:Crash when running games

Your graphics driver is out of date.
Update it on the What's New | GeForce website.
These instructions should help:

NVIDIA Drivers - Avoid Problems

However this dump files dates back to the 6th of may and you state on your original post that the driver version is 335.23, if so are you still getting crashes after a driver update?

Stress test your graphics card with Furmark

I recommend running it for around 30 minutes

this has been happening for a long time...and i asked a lot of people but no one seemed to know wat the problem is. pretty much all my games, after playing them for a while, they will crash. it doesn't crash to the desktop. my computer shuts down...atleast my monitor goes black (and you can hear that crackling sound...but its still 'on' cuz when i restart the comp...without touching the monitor power button, it works fine) and i can't hear any sound but the LED beside the power button on my cpu stays lit. when i press the reset button or restart it...it reboots and works fine. so i don't really know if the computer gets turned off or what.
it happens more often if the computer's been on a for a while already before starting the game or after a crash if i go in to the game again...its more likely to happen again then too...so i'm guessing its a hardware problem? i checked for overheating problems and i think the temperatures were all fine.
any advice or help is greatly appreciated. thanx a lot.

and its definitely not a system requirement problem for the games...it can handle them (in theory)...but just for the info. these r my specs...i did the system requirements check from teh link in the sticky thread in this forum...and the info is from there...

This is my first post here and I came for help. I am not really sure where else to go to ask about this problem since it seems pretty weird to me. Every time I start my computer, the first game I start (it doesnt matter what game it is), it will crash the first time I open it. This has started happening only when I put my new Geforce GTS 450 in my computer. This happens even to games that I had previously installed that worked fine with my last graphics card. Even old games that my GPU should have no problem running, crash for no apparent reason. I used to get an error stating that my display driver has stopped responding and has recovered when a game crashes, but that has stopped with the most recent driver update. The major problem however is after the first game crashes, when I start the game up again it gets SUPER laggy, to the point of being unplayable. It even happens when I turn all graphics on super low. I don't understand it. The only way to make a game unlaggy is to restart my computer, but then the game crashes right away and I'm back where I started.

Quick summary:
1. All games crash upon starting computer
2. Upon starting any game second time unplayable due to lag, even older games or games on super low settings
3. Only way to stop is to restart computer, which takes me back to step 1.

I have updated to the latest drivers.

Here are my computer specs:

Hi there

Im no expert on BSOD's myself but you appear to have uploaded the actual collector tool, what the experts here need are the logs the tool produces.

To use the collector tool:

- Download the W8 Log Collector ZIP file and extract the EXE file
- Right click on the extracted W8 Log Collector.exe file and click on Run as administrator
- Click on Grab All
- Now go to your Desktop and right click on W8 folder and click on Send To -> Compressed folder
- Upload it to your post if you like

Recently when I play games, depending what game it is, They crash with a very annoying static like glitch. What would happen is a would be playing a game, for example, Empire: Total War, then all of a sudden it crashes, the game freezes, and little dots of different colours appear all over the screen. The game can still be heard playing in the background but as far as I know the game completely crashes and there is no way to fix the problem except from turning the computer off. I have checked around for some help but couldnt find any situations like mine.. I'm not sure if its an internal problem with my computer or something wrong with the software.. It has happened to a few games so I know that it isn't just one game that has something is wrong it. Games it has happened to include Empire: Total War, Company of Heroes and Overlord.

Hope this is not a duplicate. I thought I posted earlier but do not see it.
I have been playing URU (Ages Beyond Mist). I am only an intermittent player and would play for a couple of hours and then stop and start up days later. It can take me a couple of months to play a game like URU. I never had any trouble loading the game. Then one day as I put the game disk in the DVD drive and the game tried to load, it froze the computer. Had to push the power button to shut down. This kept happening so I tried my other drive, a DVD-RW. It played the game and I went on. Next time when I tried to load the game the computer froze again. Then a friend told me to hold the shift key down when loading and that worked!. The computer did not crash and I just went to My Computer and clicked on the drive. I thought I could live with that if I needed to. But no the next time holding down the shift key did not work and the computer crashed. I tried this technique with the other drive and now it will not play the game either. The DVD Rom drives will play music CDs and in fact I down loaded this morning another soft ware program (Print Master, an art program). So I believe the drives are working other than starting the games. I have tried to load Dungeon Siege and Doom - Collector's Edition and they will crash the computer when trying to load also. And yet just a couple of months ago I was playing Dungeon Siege.

The other night I was playing an online FPS and the computer suddenly crashed and I got a blue screen with an error message that dissapeared too fast for me to read.
However I've gone and attached the minidump file in my post.
The problem has returned 4 times already and I'm starting to get worried, I'm not quite sure what to do.
It only happens when I play games though, which is different from the other posts I've read...

If anyone could help me out, I'd very much appreciate it! ;3

So I have my friends tower over at my house because he says every time he goes to play games after about 30-60 Mins it'll crash to the desktop. For example, Half Life 2 will open and then a message pops up saying the .exe has stopped responding and close. Empire: Total War has crashed without an error message, and Company of Heros crashes with an error message that isn't helpful.

I don't know what to do, I opened the case and checked all the connections and organized the wires and everything is plugged in properly. However, I think it could be a couple factors in which I don't know how to fix. His parts (listed below) or his OS which I think is a a torrented OS and not a store bought legit one.
