banner ads attach to

Q: banner ads attach to

Often when I log into Netflix, banner ads pop up on each page (with small text at the bottom right saying "ads not by this site" and then they come up on every page in Netflix. The ads are for actual sites (including banks). The ads come up with Firefox and Explorer. The ads make it impossible to use the toggle/full screen, play/stop buttons (they are disappeared off the screen).

I can usually get a clean browser open on Netflix when I open Firefox or Explorer, then close it and open the other browser, then close it and open the other browser again.

It doesn't seem to affect other webpages.

Below is the log -- no other attachments were created by the DDS software.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

I got a new Dell Inspiron 7720 with Win7 Professional 64 bits SP1 pre installed.  I installed Windows XP Mode and Virtual PC on it.  I need the VM to be able to work with a USB to serial converter manufactured by Keyspan.  The Keyspan
PN is USA-19HS.  I already downloaded and installed the keyspan Win7 64 bit drivers on the host machine.  Once the driver was installed, it comes with an application that allows to test the Keyspan device.   I ran this application and the
test passes.  The problem I am having is that when I try to attach the keyspan device to a VM, I get the following error "Could not attach the USB device. you can attach the USB device to a different USB port or restart the VM and try again".
After 2 days of looking for a possible solution I decice to re-install win 7 64 bits SP1 and all the drivers, then I re-install winxp mode with virtual pc.  I still have the same problem.
I do not know if this helps but the USB controller installed on the host machine, seems to be ver 3.0
I will appreciate any help I can get on this.

Copy-and-paste a HijackThis log here so we can see what's installed and what's running in the background.

I am about to ressurect my own www site and I would very much like to put a link somewhere on the page to TSG. Is there a selection of banners or something similar available that I could choose from? If so, would anyone please be kind enough to provide the code.

I have seen recently some new banners such as 'Thanks from TSG' and 'Welcome to TSG' - obviously in graphic format. Would appreciate any pointers.

Many thanks,

I think that this discusion is agains the rules:

19) No discussion of ad blocking software - Websites cost money to run and blocking ads is no more than theft of service, if you dont like a sites ads then dont use the site.

A:How to activate a banner

I believe that you would need to have HTML code on the page that is displaying the banner. The entire banner could be a clickable link or an Image Map tag could be used to only make the button area an active link.

I've had some spyware and the occasional virus in my computing days. But never have I had such problems as I do now. A few days a go I got TOTALLY pwned my a banner which ran like five billions scripts when I clicked on it.

So, anyway, I've been browsing forums and homepages for a solution to my problem, but with no luck. So I decided to come here and ask for help, because clearly this is over my head.

My problems mainly consist of this:

I have (according to WXP) a virus called sspMyDoom.cih.

Sometimes when I enter an URL in the searchbar for explorer I get riderected to onemoresearch.com or something like that. I get popups that advertise for spyware removal programs (The nerve!). They all have the title "Only the best"

Also, sometimes when I enter an URL I instead arrive to Res://xqeqo.dll

And my comp is alot more slow than usual.

I'm Running Windows XP on an Athlon 64 3000+. My HTS log is as follows:

Have you run AdAware?

Also be sure to remove offensive BHO's (Browser Helper Objects). You can do this through IE with SP2 installed through Tools > Internet Options > Programs > Manage Add-ons...

Or you could install WinPatrol www.winpatrol.com and use its functions to remove BHO's.

Morning all
I am trying to find a free application that blocks out banner ads
Pop Ups are not a problem because The Google Tool Bar takes very good care of those.but banners are a real annoyance.
Advice would be much appreciated.

A:Blocking Banner Ads

If you use the Firefox browser, you can use the Adblock plus add-in. Very effective.

Hi, Briddique here, this is my first post. I'm having trouble with banner ads that keep popping up at the top of my browser page in nearly every site I visit. I used an old registry cleaner which seemed to solve the problem at first, but I think it's been infected now. When I looked through my anti-virus logs, I found the name:[email protected] about three times. I have the program Registry Genius, but I've never had trouble with it before. I don'tknow if this is related, but whenever I open a "new tab" in Firefox, I get this message every time: Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol(mhtb) isn't associated with any program. Can you guys help me before this turns into more than a minor annoyance?

Hi all,

I have a banner to interchange with another site. How do I make my URL (or for that matter, any other text or image in the banner) be an active clickable link and to remain so when I make the whole works a gif? Thanks, Frank

A:banner with link

I'm not 100% sure I understand your question, but here is the answer to what I think. To have a .gif as a link it would look something like this: <a href="Link URL">
<img border="0" src="Your.gif" width="whatever" height="whatever">

If this is to go on another site, then the full path to yor .gif will be required. Did I make sense?

Ok, so first post to this forum. My actual problem is that I seem to have some sort of hijack malware (can't think of any other term for it). On various pages, the normal banner ads and legitimately placed banners are being replaced by a variety of random ads, usually of the porn/dating site variety. I've run AdAware, Spybot, AVG, AVERT Stinger, and VUNDOFix, none of which has fixed the issue, despite most of them finding things to remove. I'm just looking for a solution, so any help would be appreciated. When I go to this page http://www.bbsradio.com/bbc/a_fireside_chat.php
(or any of the other shows listed on the main bbsradio.com page)
My screen doesn't display a banner. Specifically where I'm talking about is
under the round buttons that say BBS Station 1, 2, 3 etc., on the
right side of the page above the time, there is suppose to be a banner.
My screen only shows a line saying advertiser/sponsor then below
that is the show airing time.

Can anyone tell me what setting I need to change to be able to see
everything on a webpage? I have used CCleaner, and have possibly
deleted a needed file extension. Other than that, I don't know why my
screen isn't displaying the full webpage.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

i purchaesed this printer in November 2015 not realizing it might not have some options I have been use to-I have 6 grandchildren and I print 4 page banners for birthdays - graduations and other family parties - now I find out that this printer does not offer banner printing - you would think that a printer that retails for 200.00 this would be part of the HP standards - not so. are there any options for installing banner printing software to this printer I have the banners set up in Windows office for the last 15 years and previous printers HP & Lexmark always have had banner printing installed until now. calling this model PRO is short of what I expected.thanksRon Dompke

dumper2 I have searched but been unable to find any information supporting banner printing on that model printer. What you could try, is downloading and installing the trial version of this app to see if it works:  https://www.postersw.com/ Click the Download link on the upper left to get to the download page. The paid version is not very expensive, but at least you get to see if this works before you pay for it.Good Luck========================================================================I am a volunteer and I do not work for, nor do I represent, HP.---------------------------------------------------------------If my posts helped you, please click the Thumbs-Up symbol on the left of the Reply button to say thanks. If my posts solved your problem please click "Accept As Solution" -- to help others find the solution.========================================================================

The issue you have is caused by the latest version of Flash. This is known to Skinkers Ltd, who provided the BBC Alerts software , an upgraded version has been provided to the BBC for evaluation and testing, so expect an upgraded version soon. Malcolm

but ywah, when my system crashes, it doenst show the bsod, it just restarts, and when its done, i log back in, and THEN it tells me "your compie survived a crash, click here to send the crash info to your friends and microsoft."

i think this is an opportunity for them to use personalised target advertising. simply have the poeple asnwer a few questions about what they like and what they buy, and all advertisemenst via the BSOD, will be personalised for the user to increase sales.

if all goes well, i expect to see video game advertisements in MY blue screen of death.

Hello everyone.

As many of you know months ago introduced the "Cookie Law : the law for which a site should display a banner in case of technical or profiling cookie. Of course in my opinion the situation was handled badly, as it hardly will instruct customers.

Honestly, how many people do you think will read the banners and how many will strive to understand the content?

A few...in my opinion.

But that's not what interests me. The main problem is that doing so will educate users to press "accept" on the banners present on the internet pages from their visit. In practice, users who already are normally disinclined to distinguish a valid banner from one containing phishing material, are instructed to press on the banners that are around.

So I think this campaign, aimed at raising awareness of users about the use of cookies, make them less attentive and more exposed to attacks that can use social engineering techniques.

What do you think?

A:Banner cookies

I think you have a very good point there, the thought had not crossed my mind untill now but you are right it could create extra vulnerability to users.
