Standard users can't open ncpa.cpl (even when added to group "Network Configuration Operators")

Q: Standard users can't open ncpa.cpl (even when added to group "Network Configuration Operators")

Hi all,
Normally when a standard user is added to the group "Network Configuration Operators", it should provide them with access to change NICs. This is also indicated in the group description ==> "Members in this group can have some administrative
privileges to manage configuration of networking features"
I've added a standard user to the group but I'm still receiving the error "You do not have permission to open the Network Connections folder" when opening ncpa.cpl. When I click on the active connection in "network and sharing center"
and click on Properties, I am able to change the settings of this adapter.
Does anyone have a clue why the message "you do not have permission to open the Network Connections folder" is displayed?
I thought this KB might be needed, but it's not applicable to my system appareantly.
The systems impacted are Windows 7 x64.
The following image described what is working (green) and what's not (red).

I've simulated this on a Windows 10 device (other domain!!) and I'm always able to open ncpa.cpl. When trying to change the properties of a NIC, I'm prompted for credentials. Only when a user is added to the group "Network Configuration Operators",
he's able to change the settings of the NIC.
Thanks in advance!

Preferred Solution: Standard users can't open ncpa.cpl (even when added to group "Network Configuration Operators")

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have mobile PCs deployed with users needing to modify network (IPv4) configuration settings as deployment scenarios change and ALSO need to adjust/change system time in order to synchronize with other devices.
I have set the User Rights Assignment (Local Security Policy) to allow the user/group "Change System Time" rights.
When I add the user account to the "Network Configuration Operators" Group, that user loses the ability to "Change System Time"; in fact, when attempting to change time, the user is prompted with the UAC popup showing ONLY administrator
When I remove the user from the "Network Configuration Operators" group, the ability to "Change System Time" is restored.
I have tried to resolve this by adding the user to the "Power Users" group, but the conflict remains.
Users need to be able to both modify network configuration settings AND change system time without being added to the administrator group. How do I resolve this conflict?

Hello, I have a problem on my Windows 7 Professional machines restored from an Acronis 11.5 backup where I have a local Security Group "myGROUP" lists several members as unresolved SIDs: S-1-5-21-aaaaaaaaaaaa-bbbbbbbbb-ccccccc-1234. I need to delete
"myGROUP" but when I try to I get the error "The specified account name is not a member of the group."
It appears to be associated with the unresolved user, because I then proceed to remove the SID and hit apply to which I get the same error as before.

I've tried using CMD and Powershell to delete with no success. I've tried deleting the Unknown User profiles. I've looked in the registry to see if I can find the user profiles in the HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\ but they
are not listed.
I did however notice that the SID listed in the membership of "myGROUP" was similar to one listed in the ProfileList as the start and end were the same but the middle strings were different:
Unresolved SID: S-1-5-21-aaaaaaaaaaaa-bbbbbbbbb-ccccccc-1234
ProfileList SID: S-1-5-21-dddddddddd-eeeeeeee-fffffff-1234
Could the Acronis restore have changed the SID of my user thus corrupting the local group? Is there any way to fix this?

Can somebody help me?

My initial admin account (made with the installation of windows7) is Marie.
When I look at the Local Users and Groups snap-in of MMC, she's member of the group administrators but not of the group Users.

then I made a folder "Test".
I disabled the inheritance.
Then I gave the group Users deny permissions of this folder.
The administrators group I gave full control permissions.

The strange thing is that Marie gets also deny permissions though she's not a member of the local group Users but she's member of the group Administrators.

Can somebody give me an anwser on this problem?

Thanks in advance!!

Kind Regards.

I would like to restrict anyone except Administrators from installing Windows Updates on my Windows 8.1 Pro x64 ENG machine.

In Windows 7 it's easy:
Control Panel / Settings / Windows Updates / change settings:
"Allow all users to install Windows Updates" -- uncheck to disable.

Is there a similar setting in Windows 8.1 via Control Panel GUI, secpol.mmc or regedit? I can't find it.

I'm trying to run KM Player in portable mode (no install) in Vista x64 and save preferences in KMPCfg.ini. Just extracting the KMP installer files to a folder allows it to play files just fine, if open them from KMP UI.

I want to open files from Explorer folders, by R clicking & selecting "Open With." Without installing KMP, of course it's not on the list of programs. NOR will it PUT KMP on the list if I browse to it's folder & the .exe file (even if check, "Always use this program to open this kind of file." I suppose the reason KMP doesn't show up in the "Open With" list (and won't let me add it) is because necessary registry entries weren't created by installing it.

Same thing happened when I tried associating a file type w/ KMP (like .wmv), through Control Panel. It wouldn't change the association when I browsed to the executable.

I used the utility OpenWithAdd utility to supposedly register KMP to show up in the Open With list. http://windowsxp.mvps.org/openwithadd.htm
It actually added a KMP registry entry for .WMV files in
HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-350893743-1272961675-1415102724-1006\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.wmv\OpenWithProgids\\KMPlayer.wmv. It looks exactly like the other media player entries under this key.
But, I guess it still doesn't show up on the Open With list because there aren't any other registry entries w/ KMP'... Read more

A:Can portable program (not installed) be added to "Open With" list in Explorer

Well, no gurus? Maybe can add a portable app to "open with" context (dunno), but you can add it to the "Send To" context, then use that when R click files in explorer.

Copy or drag icon you want to the user's Send To folder under the user's acct. It'll be there when you want to send select files to the app.

Hi All,

I have the following situation at work and hopefully someone will be able to help me with it

I have a mapped drive for a location on SharePoint. That location also has subfolders so I access all through the Windows Explorer.

My issue is that whenever I access a subfolder and a file in that subfolder a new shorcut is created next to the mapped drive.

So instead of having only one mapped drive, after some time I end up with the mapped drive and more than 10 network folder shortcuts.

My question is, can anyone share on how to disable the automatic creation of network folders?

XP Home (installed SP2 recently, which MIGHT have something to do with this?).

Just saved two word docs and a bmp file, all separately. All three times I saw that a new location has been added to the Save As drop-down menu. It didn't open to My Documents folder but was in the general folder list of the whole computer. The location was called "FTP File Locations." It's never appeared on the Save As menu before. This made me think of the file/print sharing control, which is now located in the Windows Firewall, but I don't use that Firewall, I turned it off to use Norton. What was FTP Locations? And is there any way to disable file/print sharing without using the Windows Firewall? (These may be the same thing, I don't know.) Also, in Network Connections, I thought I'd find file/print sharing control there, but now XP wants me to run a whole Network Wizard thing..I'm afraid I'll somehow set up a network instead! or enable all kinds of things..I don't want to create a disaster here.

(My son installed an FTP program months ago for work he was doing, but the program was removed. I just searched for it, it's definitely gone.)

This is a stand-alone, non-networked home computer.

P.S. I saved another Word doc and now it's back to opening to My Documents folder as usual..now I can't find the FTP Locations anywhere.

Hello all!

I've been struggling with this a bit. We are pushing IE 11 and would like to set the option under Internet options -> General -> Tabs, called "Open Links from other programs in" to "A new window" using Group Policy.
There is a group policy setting under User Configuration -> Admin Templates -> Windows Components -> Internet Explorer, called "Prevent configuration of how windows open". This looks like the right setting, but I set that, and I
can verify through the RSOP console that it applied, but the setting in IE does not change.
Can you help me with this? I'm really stumped.
If you know how to make the change using the registry I'm also open to pushing that out VIA logon script. Please let me know that solution too if you know it.

Thank you!

Hey guys searching searching searching but didnt found the asnwer.
The problem we have alot of users and since 2 months we have 40 pc running windows 7.
Most of them work perfect (after alot of coding) but we run into some problems.
Some pc`s dont run the computer startupscript, we made a policy to run the computer script but on some computers it doenst work.
All the pc are the same, have the same security groups.
We have another policy "Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon" and we have the policy "
Run startup scripts synchronously"
So again everything works on most computers but some just don`t wait for the network, they skip the policy because the network isn`t ready yet?
Whats happening here?
Update: ok so i figured out that if i add a reg setting (or policy) that it works but i have to wait for 60 sec before the network/pc is ready, were all on the same network some people have no problems some do.
regsetting: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon "GpNetworkStartTimeoutPolicyValue"=dword:00000019
regsetting: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters "DisableDHCPMediaSense"=dword:00000001
Its 60seconds right nog if i put it to 24 sec the startup computerscript isnt triggered! at 60 seconds it works!
So its odd that some pc have no problem and some have to wait for 60 seconds before everything works.....

Is there any setting to tweak , which will display all the 3 options for HTML attachments as well?

Hi everyone I've run into a problem that I really don't understand and I was hoping somebody here could help me.

First a little background so you can understand the situation. My set up is that I live in a two story house and have my cable modem and a D-Link ethernet switch in my den on the ground floor. I connect to the internet via this switch, and the switch also leads upstairs to the bedrooms, where we have a D-Link wireless router. This wireless router then provides internet to all of the bedrooms (with their laptops and Ipads) upstairs, my Xbox and another computer. My computer downstairs has no wireless card so I have to access the net via a wired connection with this one.

Now everything was fine and all my devices, whether wired or wireless had access to the internet until one day, my computer in the den could NOT access the internet. I've tried all the suggestions I've seen on forums and nothing would work. I even tried moving my den computer upstairs and plugged it into the router, and it would work! I tried moving multiple laptops downstairs as well to see if it was just the computer and they also were not be able to access the internet via wired connection through the switch.
What WOULD work sometimes is if I restarted and reset the cable modem, then sometimes my downstairs internet would work. However, if the downstairs computer's internet would work, then the devices who rely on the wireless router to connect to the internet would then be unable to do so. ... Read more

There is no antivirus installed and the windows firewall is turned off. Local Area Connection 2 is set to be accessed first by Network Services. I've tried the following with no luck:
1) Uninstall and reinstall the loopback adapter
2) Disable every other adapter and try to connect loopback adapter
3) Change the IP address to something like

When I try to install and configure loopback adapter on Windows Vista Home on the same machine on a separate partition, at least I get "Limited Connectivity".

I am not experienced with loopback adapter so I don't even know how to verify whether I am doing things right or I am getting the results right. I believe my settings are correct, then why is it saying, "No Network Access"? Please help me out here. Thank you!

what security suite - firewall is on the system , often they come with a timetrail version of norton, mcafee etc

also try safemode with networking

see below
ipconfig /all
If you cannot access the internet with this PC, then you will need to paste the results into something like notepad and then copy onto a machine that can access the internet and post results here

We would like to see the results from ipconfig /all post back the results in a reply here

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD then press Enter to open a command prompt box (A new dialogue box - black with white font, will appear on screen ):

In the command prompt window that opens, type the following command:

Note that there is a space before the /ALL, but there is NOT a space after the / in the following command.

ipconfig /all > network.txt & network.txt

It will export the results to notepad and then automatically open notepad.

Now all you need to do is copy and paste those results to a reply here

My 1 yr old Toshiba notebook connects slowly (sometimes at 9600), & has trouble staying connected to complete even a slower download. I have also had problems getting "locked up" and had to allow the thing to just run down the battery in order to get it unlocked and turned off (not good - I know). I was told to go to the Control Panel, dbl click the Network icon and re-load the TCP/IP protocol. But when I got to this point I found that my system had two TCP/IP protocols listed, as well as two adapters listed. Could my system be getting confused by too many settings on this tab? - you know not knowing which to use, therefore getting bogged down in some way? I am a little fearful of removing something I need. One of the pairs references like this.....TCP/IP->Intel(R) Pro/100+ Mini PCl looking as tho it matches up to an adapter with a similar Intel(R) PRO/100+mini PCl. The other pair that look to go together simply say.... TCP/IP-> dial-up adapter and Dial Up Adapter. Sorry if this is confusing. I'm just trying to list what is sitting on this tab. P.S. On this system I have recently de-fragged and done routine system mtc. to speed it up, but it doesn't seem to help.

A:Configuration in Control Panel, "Network" Protocols and Adapters

Are you using DSL or Cable? An external Modem for either dialup or broadband? The lockups are more than likely RAM generated (the lack of).

The Mini entry could be a external modem adapter, a Network Interface adapter or DSL or Cable modem adapter (usually external on the DSL, cable or other external modems) the other two (TCP/IP-> dial-up adapter and Dial Up Adapter) are standard and would have to be there for the external or internal modem, Ok? So those three entries will not slow you. A internal modem would

At the least:

Enter Dial-up Networking (DUN); Right-click delete your connection there (and all connections but 'Make a new connection'; Restart your computer; Enter DUN; click Make New Connection and follow the on-screen instructions. Or use the wizard to make a new connection in Start; Programs; Accessories; Comunications. You could safely remove all the procols and adapters in the Networking control Panel after deleting your DUN connections; restarting, then start from scratch.

In other words, re-do your connection after deleting the old one and restarting. I'd clean it all up in DUN and the Networking control panel but scan for virus trojan or variant befor creating a new connection. If you remove the Networking protocols and adapters they'll be re-created by Windows when you create a new connection.

Be sure and update your anti-virus before you delete your connection.

I have a laptop running Vista. Using an ethernet connection to our office network, normal internet connectivity works perfectly. Then I connect to a VPN, and I am able to access resources there as expected. When I disconnect from the VPN, the status of the local area network is "local only", and the internet is inaccessible. If I view the status of the local area connection and click "Diagnose", I get a message that the connection does not have a "valid IP configuration". Choosing to automatically fix it takes a few seconds and then full connectivity is restored.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this so these extra steps aren't required every time I disconnect from a VPN?

A:Network connection doesn't have "valid IP configuration" after disconnecting from VPN

This is probably an issue with the VPN client. Normally, when you disconnect from the VPN connection, normal networking will return.

hello all,

my internet has previously worked without any problems. two days ago, it said i was connected with limited connectivity. i tried disabling/enabling my wireless, unplugging the wireless router, and running troubleshoot. the computer said that my wireless network connection doesnt have a valid IP configuration. neither of my roomates had this issue (they can still get to the internet fine). i was worried that it was something with my internet, so i went to a friends house and it worked there. i then ran system restore to a period when internet worked, thinking it could have been a bad update, but still no change. i went into my IP address configuration, and it is all set to automatically find. not sure where to go from here. any help?

i have an asus computer, windows 7 ultimate (32bit).

A:"Wireless network connection" doesnt have a valid IP configuration...

If you can type ipconfig/all into an Elevated Command Prompt then post a screen shot of the results it would be very helpful.

It sounds like the wireless profile for your home connection was somehow corrupted or changed.

You can usually straighten that out by going into the Wireless Connection Manager in the Network and Sharing Center and making sure that the settings match the ones in your router.

The Bonjour service which installs with iTunes and Adobe Photo shop is also famous for causing this problem.

To fix ...
Run MsConfig

Under the Services tab uncheck the service called "##Id_String1.6844[... and then a bunch of numbers]" by Apple

Reboot and problem solved

To delete the Bonjour service.
1. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Bonjour
2. Rename the mdnsNSP.dll file in that folder to mdnsNSP.old
3. Restart your computer
4. Delete the Program Files\Bonjour folder

Okay, so here is my problem. I frequently bring my laptop to work where the is a public wireless signal. I work at a hospital. There is a secure network but I don't have the password for it, so I use the public one. Up until recently I used an old asus with vista, and while the signal was pretty low I had no problem connecting to it and staying connected. Just meant slow internet for me. However, that computer has sadly died and I bought a samsung NP700Z5B-S01UB. And while it's a very nice machine, I cant seem to connect to the network here. It shows that there is a low wireless signal, but it still wont let me connect. The error it gives me is "wireless network connection" doesn't have a valid IP configuration. Is there anything I can do with the computer to fix this problem, since I cannot do anything to the wireless network at all (as it is a network associated with the hospital). If anyone has any ideas please let me know.

Hello mystic, and welcome to Sevenforums!

First, do you have the latest driver installed for it? I don't know what version of windows you have so here is the general link to the drivers: Samsung - you will need the wireless driver(s). Uninstall your current wireless driver before installing the new one, which means you will need to download the new one first or use a LAN cable to have an internet connection to download the driver.

Here is an internet troubleshooting guide you might be able to use: Internet Troubleshooting Guide

However, it sounds like this computer works at home, just not at the hospitol, so it may be some kind of incompatability or any number of reasons. Make sure you have all windows updates installed as that can sometimes help such issues.

I am unable to access the Internet. I am connected to a wireless network, with excellent signal strength. All other devices in my home are also successfully connected to the network and have Internet access. My PC did as well until about three evenings ago, when it began displaying a yellow exclamation point on the relative icon in the system tray, as well as a red "X" on the second leg of the map within the network and sharing center. I have attempted numerous fixes over the past several days, and for several hours today alone, all from posts with a title similar to this post. However, none of these efforts have resulted in success. Incidentally, I am running Windows 7.

What would you suggest?

Finally, I am posting this from my smart phone, because I am unable to access the internet from the laptop in question, so I am unable to provide the system info as suggested above.

Thank you!

A few things to try
does it work if connected by cable

What firewall / security suite or anti-virus do you currently have on the PC - or you have ever had on the PC in the past - any trial ware - like Norton, kaspersky or Mcafee or any free security suites like zonealarm, AVG , Webroot etc

try doing a tcp/ip reset - see how below ( as you cant post the results, let me know about any errors)

can we see an ipconfig /all

ipconfig /all

If you cannot access the internet with this PC, then you will need to paste the results into something like notepad and then copy onto a machine that can access the internet and post the results in a reply here.
Save the file to a USB flash drive or other removable media. Plug it into the working computer with internet access and copy the file and paste here.

If you do not have another PC - do you have a phone connected to the internet - can you photograph the result and post the image in a reply
Note: you will see entries named Tunnel adapter Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface: we dont need to see that information - JUST the infomation above those entries

We would like to see the results from an ipconfig /all - post back the results in a reply here.

Well, you reloaded Windows, and the problem remains, that sure sounds like hardware to me.

I suspect this is a hardware issue, NIC, cable, or port on the router, but I'm not going to warranty that 100%, and I doubt anyone else here will either.

i just typed a whole essay basically and because i forgot to get back on the other net its all gone!!

HAVE EXAMS so can't type all that again!!

-Using vista, Arris touchstone telephony modem (only DS and power lights flashing, don't think this is normal. Every few minutes all flash), MSI 108M wireless router (all lights flashing normally, i think, only numbers not, don't know if they usually do)
-Net connection just went off spontneously (at about 2pm GMT -4)
-I went to network connections and tried changing DNS (suggestion from previous post) as i initially got message "cannot communicate with primary dns server", didn't work
-Also got message "network adaptor needs to be reset" after the 1 above and "The TCP is wrong" before the title, but it has gone back to the title

If you need more details please ask!!

I've searched around the forums and all I can seem to find are people with one or two dead pixels (the absolute max I saw was 8). On the left side of my monitor, I have an extremely large amount of dead pixels. It's about the size of two quarters. It started out small (as a single pixel - then a single line - then a large blob). I've tried just about everything to get rid of it. I've tried massaging it out, using websites/software like www.jscreenfix.com, to no avail. I really don't have the money for a new monitor. Any ideas? Thanks!

Fresh install of EMET 5.52 on Windows 10 "Anniversary edition" 64-bit, clicking on the Trust configuration button produces:

"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application." ...
"Customized cultures cannot be passed by LCID, only by name.
Parameter name: culture"

So, two issues:
1. This bug needs to be investigated, in any case; and
2. Until then, how might I see/edit the Certificate Trust rules (to work around the perennial problems of EMET not staying up to date with e.g. Facebook certificates)?

I recently upgraded windows 7 onto both my laptop and desktop PC's. Initially, when I viewed the network tab in explorer, it used to bring up a list of my computers, of which I could then pick one, expand the list and see the corresponsing drives attached.

Today, I (stupidly) set up a homegroup. deciding i didn't really need it, i then deleted it! however, now when i expand the computers under the network tab, i cannot see the drives anymore. i can only see a folder labelled "Users".

Does anyone have any idea how i can get it to revert to what it used to show?

many thanks,

A:Unable to view network drive, only "users" folder

You will need to make sure that you officially "leave" the Homegroup to fix that particular problem. After that you will want to set up a Workgroup type of network.

I'm in a small office and I'd like to setup people that use the company Outlook so that all msgs sent/recieved will be collected to a single email address like "[email protected]". This will be mainly used for employees that are terminated for misuse and we can view what they have sent or recieved on their outlook even if they purge their trash. Any way to do this or ideas? Thank you.

I do not understand much about how internet connections work, but I'll try my best to describe the scenario

I am connected to my wireless router through my laptop (windows 8) and I have setup a network bridge from my laptop to my PS3, as my PS3 does not connect to the wireless. When I did this at first, it worked for about 30 minutes after experimenting with things a bit, but it will not connect again.

My connection to the internet from my laptop is fine. but the network bridge connection is labelled as limited.

When I open the information on the network bridge, it comes up with this information:

IPv4 connectivity: No Network Access
IPv6 connectivity: No Network Access
Media State: Connected

And when I check out the connection details, the spaces next to IPv4 default gateway, and IPv4 DNS server (and a couple of others which I don't think are relevant) are blank.

If someone could help me fix this problem, it would be great, however if it cant be easily fixed, it won't be a problem as it is only my PS3.

I am happy to answer any other questions about additional details or clarification.

Thanks in advance.

How to remove the "Authenticated Users" "Create Folders" permission from the root of the C Drive via command-line?
I know this question has been asked many times before, but nothing works for us!
We tried the following:

Cuurent root C: owner is TrustedInstaller and acnnot be changed.
We cannot change or remove the Create Folders permission of the Authenticated Users of the root C: . Error Access Denied.
Drive C: is hidden via GPO, but many users can enter it from the File-Explorer and create folders in the root C:.
We do not want -for many reasons- to Block/ Prevent Access to C: via GPO.
We also tried to run cacls and/or icacls under the system-account (PSEXEC -i -s -d CMD). Error Access Denied.
icacls C:\ /deny *S-1-5-11:(NP)(AD)

I have an XP machine which I only ever user myself (as in, there are no other users on the machine, no guest account, and it logs in without a password).

I'm trying to sort out my expansive and bloated Start Menu Programs list, but it seems that there are two separate lists. One for "Joe" (the main user account) and one for "all users", I guess because some programs give the option of installing for just one user or for everyone.

All of the programs show up in the Start Menu when I click on it, but when I go into Windows Explorer to try and sort them out, there are two separate folders;

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs
C:\Documents and Settings\Joe\Start Menu\Programs

I know I can move them around in these folders (ie; putting them in related groups, such as "system tools" etc), but can I move all of them from the main user to the "all users" folder, (or vice versa) without any problems?

A:[SOLVED] Merging "user" and "all users" start menu program lists

Yes, you can consolidate them all in one, or slit them up as desired.

I have Windows 7 Home Pro installed on my laptop, and I'm one of those people that likes to keep my Start Menu folder OCD-tidy.

In W7 (as I believe it was in Vista) there are two folders that handle the program shortcuts for the Start Menu. There's a user-specific one (for programs only that user can use) and the all-users one (for programs everyone can use).

C:\Users\Joe\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

I'm the only user on my laptop, so I'd like to just consolidate these two folders into one to make it easier for me to sort and keep track of. Is there any reason not to just drag-and-drop stuff from one to the other? Is there one that I should use in preference to the other (should I keep everything in the "user" folder or the "all-users" folder?

I'm pretty sure I just did this without any problem in Vista, but I wanted to make sure so I don't mess anything up as I'm new to W7.

I accidentally pulled the plug out of my computer when it was in the middle of shutting down. Now that I've tried to reboot it, I get a screen saying:

Safe Mode
Safe Mode With Networking
Safe Mode With Command Prompt
Last Known Good Configuration
Start Windows Normally

Whenever I click on any of the options above, I always ends up back at the same screen, suggest the above options again. I've tried rebooting I again a few times but nothing works?

Any ideas?

Hey everyone,
I am trying to get the REST queries to work with the sharepoint end points instead of graph end points. I first created an app with relevant permissions and have given it the admin consent. Then I am hitting the https://login.microsoftonline.com/<tenant>.onmicrosoft.com/oauth2/token?Content-Type=application/x-www-form-urlencoded end
point with https://<tenant>.sharepoint.com as resource. I am then using the access token retrieved to give the rest call to https://<tenant>.sharepoint.com/_api/v2.0/drives/b!3indYSbqZ0-hVSPnCgIZy-2xDMh7jH9AuQnEzJMc6TEfQoSJvJT-R6tT0lFBQiPr/root/delta
but it is failing with "error":{"code":"generalException","message":"General exception while processing"}}. The REST response code is 401 Unauthorized. I have filed a Microsoft support ticket but they
have asked me to post on these forms. Can someone please help me with this? I am not able to move forward because the error is pretty generic and doesn't give any additional details.

I am using Windows 7 on my laptop and I have question about when to use "Home", "Work" and "Public" profile.

If I am logging in without setting password, and I am logging in network with "Public" profile, then will any other user, who can see my computer, be able to enter my computer and check the contents on my computer ?

I am connecting to a network and there are 6 other users connected to this network. In the set network location window, if I select the netwoek as "Home", does it mean that other 6 users will not be able to see my computer on network and if I use "Public", then all other six users will be able to see my computer on network ?
