I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system
It's worked out well for many of us in the past.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

I've only had my HP Envy laptop for a little over a year. I got it for school, and one of the big things I was happy about was the built-in webcam (that my previous laptop did not have) which meant I could skype with my parents several thousand miles away. However, said webcam has stopped working. I had a few bits of trouble with it in the past doing this same thing, but each time it has managed to fix itself the enxt time I tried to use it. I've tried youcam as well, to see if it was an issue with skype, but sure enough that did not work either. Whenever i try to use it, it tells me the webcam is being used by another application. I even went into settigns and disabled the webcam to everything except what I wanted it for, nothing. I closed all other programs that even might have been interfereing. Nothing. A few weeks ago, it was working but it was doing weird things. The colors kept getting distorted in multiple different ways. Sometimes it would look like I was in a really brightly lit room. Other times it would look like I had very little light at all. The colors kept changing as well, where sometimes everything would look very orange, another time very purple, etc. And sometimes it would "flash" between the distortions, but sometimes it would pick a distortion and stay on that one for 10-20 mins. at first we thoguht it might just be the lighting, since it was only my end doing it, but after playing with all the lights in my room to see if they ... Okay, please bare with me on this because I am so frustrated at this point that I don't even know if what I am going to ask makes any sense,
I have an HP pavilion laptop dv6t that I have only had for 3 weeks at the very most. (I love it by the way)
I am a freshman in college and I skype with my little sister every day and today is the first day I have had this problem and I have no idea what caused it or how to fix it.
For about an hour I thought it was just a black screen, then come to find out, it wasn't black, but just very very dark and when I got up very close to it (my face almost touching the camera) I could see myself but with a strong red/black tint. Naturally, I went to the settings and tried to adjust the brightness or contrast and they made a difference on the video as a whole, but didn't help with the red/black tint in the slightest bit.
So then I just restored the settings to default and this did absolutely nothing to fix my problem, just restored all the brightness and contrast that I had messed with trying to fix it.
I have no idea what happened. It happened while I was on skype. So here is what I did in the 15 minutes before this happened:
I downloaded manycam and was using it to show my desktop on skype and everything was working fine
I tried to enhance the video using the pre-installed program of Cyberlink Youcam
After finishing showing my desktop,I promptly uninstalled manycam and went about doing my own thing on facebook or ebay or wha... Read more
I share your frustration with truevision hd. At first only had a dark screen, now after driver and software updates from hp I have a lighter screen and can see my image. Only trouble is that the image is dark and fuzzy. All worked well when I bought the DV7-6135dx a couple of weeks ago, but all of a sudden the camera malfunctioned. Installed a cheap radioshack webcam as part of the troubleshooting process, and it works well, lots of fidelity, it really looks good compared to the hp truevision camera. Any insight on how to fix the problem without sending the whole unit in for warranty work? The laptop works well otherwise and I really like it!

I need the driver for my Pavilion dv7-6c95dx Entertainment PC, HP Truvision HD Webcam. Product number A6X02UA. I downloaded your Cyberlink YouCam software and the driver is not bundled with that software. The camera worked before having to do a clean install of windows 7. Image Device is not displayed in Device Manager. I copied all the drivers onto an external Hard drive before the clean install but for whatever reason you didn't store the webcam drivers in those folders. My case number is [Personal Information Removed]. Please help get this rectified. anyone had this problem? HP's support site for the specific model M6-1035 lists no driver for the webcam. it was there under windows 7 but I don't recall ever deliberately installing a driver for it - I assumed win7 had it.
windows 8.1 does not. nothing in 'devices', nothing under device manager, and no driver listed on the HP support site. the latter is not surprising since they don't provide a host of drivers for the laptop.
no keyboard-specific drivers [like for the function keys etc], wrong firmware for optical, and other small things
anyone found a generic cam driver that will function?
I continue to be unable to view audio and video content from Hopper with Sling. Windows 8.1 and tried Chrome, IE and Firefox.
My HPTrueVision HD webcam driver is missing. So, I recently reverted my laptop back to factory settings, but that still didn't help in getting my webcam driver back.I then tried the built-in recovery manager, but the driver wasn't listed. Ithen tried the HP web site, but all it wanted me to do, was download YouCam,which is software to help use the webcam, but not the driver. I get the feelingthough, that HP never installed a driver for my particular webcam. So, cananyone please help me? I just need to re-install the webcam driver. Thanks.Read other answers

Just purchased my new Pavilion dv7, and when I run the You Cam software, it tells me my HP TrueVision HD webcam is not detected. Hi Guys, I had the same problem with a HP Pavilion dv7-6e22b. I read about a short cable on the inside of the screen.I found the following post about how the screen is connected. this was an older model but i was curious about how to remove the lid of the machine. it contains 2 screws (which I didn't have to unscrew to acces the camera) just be causious not to break the bevel. http://www.insidemylaptop.com/remove-lcd-screen-inverter-board-hp-pavilion-dv7-notebook/ this is a older model in the new model the webcam connector is located directy under the webcam lens itself.I pressed te connector lightly. And all ofa sudden I hear a USB connecting sound. After that my device manager showed a connected "image device" and the software worked directly. I hop this will solve your problems to. I must say reading all the posts and not finding a solution in driver or software and after seeing the connector I think it's a poor deisgn effort using such short cables and tiny connectors. good luck to all !Read other 10 answers
I'm about to purchase a new PC and am chosing between two. Both have 2GB RAM and a NVidia 9500GT 1Gb graphics card. I will be using Windows XP operating system.
One PC has the Intel processor and the other the Athlon processor. With the above set up, which processor would be best for gaming?
Between those two, I would opt for the intel. It has twice the cache.
You know I build systems with both amd and intel and really either one will do a fine job for you. I would pay attention to what motherboard is installed. I always recommend an intel chipset board for an intel build and an amd chipset board for an amd build. Try and stay away from third party chipset boards ie via, nvidia, sis.

Looking at the list, "Intel Media Graphics Accelerator Driver" shows 37.1GB!??
My computer works fine and in the "My Computer" page is says, "OS C-Drive 197GB free of 218GB"
Is this a Dell thing like reporting the wrong program size, or is it real?
What should I do if anything?
Hello there, DBone. it could be an error, nothing to worry about.
But if it's messing around with your head, you could just uninstall the driver and install the latest version from the intel website. or your manufacturer's website
Most likely is a mis-reading. if the used space on the HDD hasn't change (besides from the SP1 files), then everything is alright.

gokul17 Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums! The Win10 Upgrade tool does a poor job of detecting PCs with multiple graphics chipsets (like yours) and, as a result, is unable to install the proper drivers for those chipsets to work.Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the problem you're up against is that Microsoft only supplies drivers with the most basic functionality, and what you really need for FULL functionality in laptops is the specialized drivers written for the specific hardware found in laptops -- and unfortunately, there are no HP Win10 drivers for your laptop. However, for MS-supplied drivers that aren't working well, you could consider using HP Win8 drivers -- although there's no guarantee that those drivers will work. Here's the link to the HP Product drivers and software page for Win8 for your PC: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-15-e000-Notebook-PC-series/5355006/model...If that page does not show Win8x when you open it, then click CHANGE and select Windows 8x using the pulldown. You might have to install the drivers using compatibility mode: http://www.windows10forums.com/articles/compatibility-mode.7/Good LuckRead other 2 answers

Hi, You can get around the restriction imposed by the oem graphics package by manually installing the Intel Graphics driver as follows. First, download the latest Intel HD4600 driver for your notebook from the link below and save it to your Downloads folder - you need the first option ( ie win64_154025.4463.zip ). Note: If you wish to install a different driver version from Intel, the method is still the same. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26079/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-15-40-4th-Gen-?... When done, download and install the .64bit version of 7-Zip on the link below. http://www.7-zip.org/ When you've installed 7-Zip, open your Downloads folder, right click on the win64_154025.4463.zip package, select 7-Zip, select extract files and then click Ok. Cut this newly extracted folder and paste it on your Desktop so it's easy to find. When done, hold down the Windows key and press R Into the Run window, type devmgmt.msc and hit enter. In Device Manager, expand Display adapters, right click the Intel 4600 device and select 'Update Driver Software'. In the following window, select 'Browser my computer for driver software' and then select 'Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer'. In the next window, click the 'Have Disk' button and then browse to the extracted Intel win64_154025.4463 folder you pasted on your Desktop. Browse into the sub-folder Graphics, left click on t... Hi and welcome
Have you tried Lenovo? what model laptop?
I am having a problem with my Intel 82852/82855 graphics card drivers. this started when I tried to update the driver. I downloaded the driver, and tried to update it by unzipping the file, and going to device manager, selecting the device, selecting update driver, and specifying the location. it worked pretty well, but right at the end of the proccess, where the bar was almos full, it stopped. the wizard told me that there had been an error while installing my hardware; "the specified file could not be found." however, I didn't see a file specified anywhere! also, after this, my video card, (or cards, I'm not sure; device manager shows two had the little yellow circle with and exclamation mark near it. I tried this several times, completely unninstalling the drivers from the add/remove program lists. I've even tried it with an older driver, but I get the same message. Please help me: I'm pretty desperate!

Hello Sam95 and welcome to Seven Forums.
If you think the installation of this graphic adapter is the cause of your problems than I think it would be wise to either take it away (run the uninstall program that came with the adapter ) or if that does not work, restore your system till a date before this installation.
I have a Gateway Solo 1450 with Intel 830M graphics controller which is supposed to have the TV-Out function. I hooked up a VGA converter to a S-Video cable and put that input into my tv. I adjusted the display of the graphics to allowing my notebook to be placed on the other "monitor." In the Intel directions, it says to go into the Graphics Properties and select "TV". However, even with the tv connected I don't see this icon. So I chose the multiple monitors option and allowed my notebook to be seen on the other monitor which is really the tv. I tried it on 2 tv's both on the s-video channel. However, neither has a usable signal and remains blank. One of my tv's picture did jiggle around a slight bit when I adjusted things on the settings portion but there was no picture besides a blue screen. I've tried every setting I can imagine to change on the computer and the tv. I know my s-video cable works and the adapter is new so I don't think it's that. Anyone who can tell me how to fix this is my hero

Hi there ... Try the Link below for the latest Intel HD ...
See, i've just got this HP ProBook and it had Windows7 Enterprise 64 bit.
When i looked to the system information and the dxdiag i saw that it had a 1.7GB VRAM.
When i Installed a game today, it said that it doesn't support the minimum requirements of it , which it was 128mb VRam.
What should i do, I mean is it the fault at the windows 7 64 bit or, enterprise can not recognize it.
Do anyone know this, or had encountered this problem and fixed it.
This notebook has Intel 3000 integrated graphics.... It doesn't matter how much ram those graphics have...they are just too weak for gaming. However some models have a discrete AMD 6470m card also, but that is a special order thing...does the box have any information on it?Read other 3 answers
my wife has a lenovo flex2 14 laptop that has intel HD family onboard graphics card in it.and was running win 7 on it perfectly she clean installed 8 then upgraded to 10 and everything is fine except the display she has installed the win 10 driver for her laptop from lenovos sit but complains that text is a bit blury and that windows (in the software she is using) doesnt display as much as it used to on the previous win7 despite the resolutions being the same
any ideas how i can correct this for her...so she can continue loving me?
To play games on my pc, I have to turn up the brightness in my video card settings so I can see what the hell I am doing. So I updated my driver the other day, fix the color like I usually do, but when I start any full screen game, the color scheme reverts back to the default which as I said is way to dark.
Is there any way to fix this without having to revert back to outdated drivers?
use brightness buttons on your monitor
This is my system
Dell Dimension 3000
Intel pentium 4
2.8 GHZ 512 RAM
windows XP (sp2)
Intel extreme graphics 2 onboard video
The video card im trying to install is a
Radeon X800 PCI series
When I try to disable the video card it seems to only reset my graphics settings to 8 bit and 800 x 600 resolution, I've looked at other posts here about the Intel extreme graphics 2 and I know that it will consistently try to reinstall its driver if uninstalled. My ATI Catalyst software will not install itself for some reason. I put in the disc and it goes through the installation process, aburptly stops but it doesn't install any ATI things onto the computer, when I look in my control panel afterwards there are no ATI things in there whatsoever.
I know this video card works and everything cause it was working in my other dimension 3000 even before I disabled the onboard video on that computer it allowed the ATI software to be on the computer. I tried getting the latest drivers from ATI but when trying to install them it pops up a message saying
"Setup was unable to find components that can be installed under your current hardware or software configurations. Please make sure you have the right required hardware or software"
what does that mean? Im not sure what hardware or software I may be missing...
any idea as to what I should do? Thanks in advance!
You may need microsoft .net framework 1.1 which is on the ati site as well as microsoft's!!!!
So I received my Dell laptop today and I'm a little confused how graphics cards work as this is my first laptop. It's currently using Intel HD graphics 620 though it should have a Radeon R7 M445 4GB card. Do I need to manually switch it or something? Please help cause I can't game without it :(
Hi GreenTheAssassin,Thanks for posting. It does that automatically, there is no need to switch things. The AMD kicks in when you do 3D graphics, like games, CAD, etc. When you are using Word / looking at your icons, it defers down to the onboard graphics card. There is no way to use AMD all the time.Read other 1 answers
