Q: Lenovo Yoga C930-13IKB Wifi problems

Hello, I've problems with the Wifi card. From time to time the wifi card is not recognized correctly and it gets the yellow exclamation mark in the device manager and says the device could not be started. I tried the latest driver of Lenovo website and the latest of Intel website. Same problem. If it hppens I have to reinstall the driver and reboot multiple times and plug in and out the power (I didn't find a proper way to fix it) and suddenly it is working again for some days. I suppose Energy saving/hibernating problems but I'm not sure. I'm just afraid that my new device is having a hardware defect ;-( Does anyone else have similar issues?Any idea how to fix it? Hello, We have 3 docks (Dell D6000, Thinkpad USB C dock, and a pluggable usb c dock) at our office and just recently purchased this laptop to connect with one of the three docks and use 3 external displays. For some reason, when connecting monitors to all 3 ports on all three docks, we are unable to get all 3 displays and the laptop. We can only get 2 displays and the laptop as a third. That being said, on the pluggable dock, we were able to get all 3 externals and the laptop as a fourth about 1 in every 15 or so connects. Otherwise we get 2 displays and the laptop. If we disconnect one of the displays, we can get one that was off to turn on, but we are again stuck with 2 displays and the laptop. The Think pad docks gets all of the displays, but at horrible low resolutions (it has 2 DPs and a VGA). Their is no consistency at all and I'm trying to avoid returning the laptops. We have checked that the latest drivers are installed and installed the displayport drivers from their website. Another weird thing is that sometimes the docks are charging the laptop and other times it shows "plugged in, not charging" on all 3 docks. We have a dell that is not as nice body wise, but connects to all 3 docks and gets 3 external and the laptop, but these yogas are nicer. Is what I'm trying to do possible with this laptop?

I have a Lenovo Yoga 730 with a Realtek 8822BE nic but it constantly drops the network and Windows says "The default gateway is not available". I have tried unchecking "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". I'm currently running driver v2024.0.2.101 which appears to be the latest available.

Hello, Recently my CEO had bought a Lenovo Yoga 910-13IKB. It came with win10 preinstalled. I had worked on it for about 10 minutes and than the problem showed up: our local WiFi network dissapeared. I immediatelly took my laptop and searched for WiFi networks but no there was no my SSID at all. Then I had restarted WiFi router and network showed Up, but as soon Yoga connected, same again no network. I googled for solution and I did uninstall EMC and Lenovo Utility but that did not resolved the problem. Then I had tried to uninstall all drivers and than download and install them again but still the problem is there. Wherever Yoga connects WiFi dies. I found that some routers recognize something like DDos attack and so I dissabled that option on routers but again problem is there. Please can u give me solution to this problem because my CEO thinks that I am not capable of doing my Job (IT technician/Network administrator). Best wishes Adis

I had a nightmare with the wifi performance and I hope that this post will help other ppl avoiding the same fate. the wifi had significant delays while pinging the router and all the downloads were so slow and unreliable. the issue started after installing Lenovo vantage and activating the battery conservation mode. this can be resolved by either disabling "battery conservation" or change windows power plan, wireless adapter setting, to  "maximum performance" while using the AC or the Battery. unfortunately, I spent few hours to figure out this issue which is caused by a simple setting mistake by the vendor.

I was quite concerned about the 20Mbps download speeds with this NEW laptop on my Asus AC87. It uses the 5GHz MIMO with beamforming and should get 95Mbps. My Note 9 for instance with 2 x 2 MIMO gets 95Mbps. It is a HUGE and disappointing difference. All I did was go into the settings and change the bandwidth from 80MHz down to 40MHz and so far the problem seems to be solved and it didn't affect the speed of other wireless devices. I'm wondering of course if anyone else experienced the same issues. This may mean I'm getting a lesser theoretical speed but the practical speed is what counts and it works now. Grant

I've had issues with the cooloing fan staying on while the computer was off/sleep mode.  Eventually, it seemed to fix itself after an Windows 10 update.  A few months later the fan will not turn on at all.  I checked the fan, doesn't seem to have any blockage.  Is there any test I can run? Any help will be appreciated.

Good morning, I purchased a Lenovo Yoga 720 13IKB 80X6 last november 2017 in the United Arab Emirates. Everything worked perfectly until July, when the laptop shut down and wouldn?t turn on anymore. I tried everything I could without opening the device and cancelling the warranty , but eventually sent it back in the store where I bought it, and they had to change the motherboard.  Now, not even two months later, same problem. That laptop doesn?t turn on anymore, and this time it also doesn?t charge (the LED on the side doesn?t light up).  I, once again tryed everything I could that i found on the forums without opening the device pressing the on button for various amounts of time, pressin the ''reset'' one with a pin... nothing seems to work. Problem is that I no longer live in the UAE. So now I have two questions : - does anyone have an idea of what the problem might be? - Can I still send my device for repair where I live now for free with Lenovo?s IWS?  Thank you to anyone who can help out, it?s very much appreciated. Sincerely,  A disappointed costumer

I received this laptop as a replacememt of my defective yoga 720 the 18 October. After somw days of usage I can finally say that I ve got scammed by Lenovo, who sent me a testing unit with so mant problems! - Wacom pen and touch issues (such as ghosting and deas zones)- TouchPad gets disabled and became uselsss until next reboot. It also feels weird and it is kinda loose and imprecise! -KeyBoard acts weird and there is a noticeable input lag that I just can't stand since I am a programmer. -Hibernation/suspend/who knows who causes the impossibility to Wake up my laptop from sleep. When it happens I can only hard shut it down. - I've found some strange stats in the battery report that makes me think that I've received a testing unit with all of these malfunctionnality. My EMEA casw manager does no longee respond to my emails and I am willing to sens back this laptop and receive a refund or a new replacememt ( BUT NO MORE IDEAPAD LAPTOPS). I just got this Lenovo a few weeks ago and it has worked fine until today! The screen was flickering every few seconds, so I followed the steps I saw on the forums to fix it. Nothing worked, so I tried rebooting my computer to see if maybe the drivers needed the computer to be restarted to work. Now, the laptop won?t turn on. The LED shows the machine as being powered on, and the keyboard will light up, but the screen remains completely black. The Lenovo logo doesn?t show up or anything. I?ve tried rebooting with the AC adapted plugged in (even though the battery was fully charged), I?ve tried restarting holding down shift + f8, and holding down the volume up key too. Nothing happens.

Lenovo Yoga C930-13IKB, 64 bit, Windows 10 Home.  I'm having a lot of troube with the Intel Wireless-AC 9260 device.  At first wifi went out intermittently when I would change from school to home wireless.  When it went out, it would not even show nearby wireless networks.  Tried restart, network reset, updating drivers, troubleshooting, and everntually did a full system restore, files and everything.  This worked for a day, then same problem.  Just did another full reset, files and everything, but wireless is not working.  Device manager shows: "device can not start."  Troubleshooters can not fix the problem.  Please, any help?

Hi all, My brand new Yoga is facing very frequent wifi connection loss.I've updated BIOS and installed latest realtek driver downloaded from your web site. I've also tried to follow all suggestions in your how to and forum (apart chaning myself the wifi board with an intel one as suggested in the forum). The router has no problem since theother 10 devices connected have no problem. However, the problem persist. It is more frequent after the latest windows 10 update. I've also tried the "sfc /scannow" as suggested in the chat, but the problem persists. I've tried to submit a service request, but I always get the message that the SR has been refused!Now I've switched off the bluetooth, and it seems that the problem is slightly reduced. I cannot use with the switching off of the bluetooth the pen! This is pretty annoying!  How can I get a service repair and/or get in touch with customer service to solve my issue? Thanks for any suggestion

I bought my wife a Lenovo Yoga 720-13IKB about a year ago and it has always had trouble connecting to the internet. We are now living overseas (in the Khalij) and her computer barely ever detects the WiFi network at all! This happened occasionally in the US but we could connect it via Ethernet so it wasn't really a problem. But it's pretty much unusable here because of the crap WiFi card, frequency, or whatever in the machine. I've seen some posts asking for help with SLOW internet but her computer almost NEVER gets signal or, if it does see the network, it cannot connect. PLEASE, can anyone help?!?!? Joshua

New YOGA C93013IKB with Bios 8GCN30WW. I have evertyhing up to date, but my wifi connection seems to randomly drop for about 10 seconds every now and then. Hi We've problem with the Yoga C930, that's gets very hot when it's charging, both on the bottom and on the top in front of the soundbar, and we can also feel the heat between the kyes. Is there a known solution to this problem?  It's a new pc, and all drivers are up to date including the BIOS.  Best regard Simon

I like to keep my C930 in sleep mode. But sometimes after wake up, the laptop cannot connect to wifi (it cannot find surrounding wifi, and I cannot turn the wifi off). I will need to restart the computer to make the wifi work again. But when I restart the laptop in this condition, It cannot restart normally, it keeps restarting several times and until entering into repairing mode. I need to turn off the computer and open it again. It happens several times. It is hardware or system problem? And once I waked the laptop and screen didn't work. But it never happens again. Do I need to reinstall the computer or send it to repair?I just bought it for a month.

So my Lenovo Yoga would start to boot and the light on the side and keyboard would light up, but then it would turn off again. Then it would start to boot up (without the screen actually turning on) and turn off again. It would just cycle through this, so I held down the power button for 10 seconds, and now it does not turn on at all- no lights, no anything. Any suggestions?

The laptop was working just fine, then all of a sudden shut off on its own. I thought the battery might've ran out, so I plugged it in, tried to power it on but did not power on, even after hours of charge. The white light on the side is lit when plugged in, and the keyboard lights up for 1 second when pressing the power button before shutting back down. I've done the hold the power button for 15 seconds, release, hold for another 15 trick, but all that happens are the fans turning on high-mode for 2 seconds then shutting back off. I'm decently tech savvy and build my own computers, but just not laptops. This says to me the motherboard is still intact and isn't having an issue communicating with parts. If I were to guess on the next thing, it'd be the battery failing. I don't hear any beeps or anything, which usually occurs with CPU errors, and with the screen/system not turning on, I can't diagnose if the m.2 ssd is failing (most likely not the issue). I've found this maintenance manual online to replace parts, but unsure if this is a common issue that others are having, and which part should I look into replacing (if any). I don't have an active warranty on this anymore but prefer to not spend a couple of hundred of dollars at a repair shop. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

i just bought the new c930 (not yoga book but the yoga c930 ) and i installed all upadtes etc but i have not been getting the battery i expected. when i scroll my mouse to the battery bar, it constantly shows around 6-7 hours on full charge. all i am doing is web browsing. Is this normal? i expected to get around 9-10 hours for the web browsing. Also keep in mind i am on better performance so not the best performance or anything. Ya if i lower the performance even more i might be able to get a little more but i dont think thats normal. I dont have the 4k version either just the regular. If this is expected then fine but i am not sure.

My 730's keyboard started acting up mid January. I didn't mind it and dealt with it. I do light gaming and the keyboard seems to have grown a large delay. Only when I am gaming. I check Task Manager and my RAM usage is at 60-70%. Disk around 39%. CPU not maxed out neither iGPU. What happens is when I am to press a key such as F when i press it it happens later and it starts to stack the commands. So if i press F once it will finish the input around 1- 0.5sec later. I've looked everywhere, I can't seem to find any solutions. I have FilterKeys disabled so thats not it. Backlight is off and FPS is capped to 60 same as my screen 60hz. Only keyboard, mouse entries are smooth and with no lag. It would be very helpful if someone could help.

Hi Just want to share my latest experience after reading many posts of Yoga 920-13IKB (i7-8550 / 8G / 512G / 4K screen) incompatibility with Lenovo USB-C Travel Hub. I had this new Yoga 920 laptop for about a week, replacing my previous Yoga 900 (13.3", QHD+, i7-6560U, 256G, 8G). I have been using the Dell USB-C to HDMI/VGA/Ethernet/USB 3.0 Adapter (DA200) with the Yoga 900 without any problems. However, I can say with certainty that the Yoga 920 is incompatible with the Dell DA200 adapter. After reading many posts, I finally decided to purchase the Lenovo USB-C Travel Hub (4X90M60789) as a replacement. I had a local store rang Lenovo to confirm that it would work with my Yoga 920 before making the purchase. It arrived yesterday, and with two days of using and testing the connections Lenovo USB-C Travel Hub (Ethernet/HDMI/VGA/USB3.0); I can say that it works as expected. I'm not sure why Lenovo does not update their website to include the model Yoga 920 to be listed on the "Hardware Compatibility" list, as this will simply for the enduser to check - http://support.lenovo.com/docs/usb_c_travel_hub

Okay so I own a Lenovo Yoga 730-13IKB, when I open my laptop I can hear like a creaking sound coming from the hinges. Is that normal? I don't think so since other laptops I've owned have never had that. Do any of you have a similar issue when opening your laptop?

Hello everyone,  I recently purchased a Lenovo Yoga 720 13IKB. I've only have the unit for about three (3) weeks and the batter is no longer able to charge when connected to the power supply that came with the unit. I checked the AC adapter to make sure that it was properly connected to PC and it was. I plugged it to different outlets and it didn't help. I bought a replacement powersupply from my local MicroCenter and still nothing. I checked the Control Panel, open up the Power Options to see if there were any settings in there but nothing to show why it wasn't chraging. Then Opened the Device Manager. Under "Batteries" I saw two items, one for the battery and another listed as "Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery". I Opened each item, which will brought up the Properties window. Under the "Driver" tab looked for "Update Driver." I went through the two options and did the same process of updating drivers. I went through the driver update process for all options. Once the drivers are all up to date, I rebooted the laptop and plug it in again. Then i unninstalled "Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery" completely and reboot. Still the problem persists.  I even updated all the windows Updates. Then I opened Lenovo's Companion app. I updated all the drivers that need updating and nothing changed. I still have my PC connected to AC power and the battery isn't charging. I opened the lenovo setting app and checked under battery section... Read more

Is it not charging at all, or just stuck at around 60%.    I ask because there i an option in Energy Management to select Maximum Battery Life, or Optimized Battery Health, and if set the latter (which I believe is the default), it will only charge to about 60 percent of capacity in an attempt to prolong the life of the battery.    Setting it to Maximum battery life will allow the batter to charge to 100% and you will get a longer run time, but you may have to replace the battery sooner.     If you leave the laptop usually plugged in, then optimized batter health is the better option. Cheers,

Hey folks, I got the Yoga c930 and so far I'm loving it, save one issue--my shift key feels kind of loose (but sticky) and makes a different noise if you accidently hit it the wrong way.  Since it's not a pc-breaking issue, I don't want to have to send it in unless something else goes wrong, but I was wondering if anyone has tried any DIY maintenance on Yoga Keyboards.  I'm worried I might break a clip since even though their are videos for the Yoga 710 on YT, I don't know if they switched up the mechanism for this generation.  It sitll registers the click, so functionally--no issue, but it feels like a defective key that could just completely break out of the blue.

Good day, I just received the Lenovo Yoga C930 and the pen doesn't work. The laptop does't recognize it and there is no way (app or settings menu) to install it, syncronize it or try it. Microsoft Windows 10 pen settings is for the surface pen and the Lenovo Pen settings is for the Lenovo Pen with the top bottom. Nothing for the fancy new pen that is stored in the laptop (not even in the product guide - way to go Lenovo!).  I have been trying to call several times Lenovo technical support and the dial menu is horrible. I haven't been able to reach a technical support representative for the Lenovo Yoga C930. This is the worst service per purchased item prize I have received in my life.  I really hope that someone can help me. This purchase was supposed to be a good experience and so far it is just pathetic.

Hi, after purchasing my Lenovo Yoga C930 in November 2018 it worked completely fine until 4 days ago. At some point, I started noticing some slight flickers in the form of very thin lines that would span over the whole screen width. I then updated the Graphics Card drivers which solved the problem for two days, then it came back. Since yesterday, there are now some hug screen flickers (similar to this, but a bit less bad: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6SIHJYWsFCI ), which are increased if the laptop is on battery mode as opposed to when it is plugged in. I tried to see if there was a difference between the different power modes in battery mode, but it doesn't seem to be the case.All the drivers are up-to-date and I am very dependent on my computer for work, so I would rather not send it in if I can avoid it in any way. I compared using both ATTO and AS disk benchmarks the performance of the drive in the 930 with the same size 250G SSD in a desktop with a Samsung 970 EVO Plus. The results everywhere better sometimes 10x the speed on writes.  I know in practice if I just use this for routine stuff and no special video editing possibly the existing SSD is more than sufficient. I know also I can clone and replace it in no time probably with a 500G one. Any thoughts? Opinions? Anyone who has done it and noticed a noticeable increase in speed? Thanks,Grant

For the life of me I cannot figure out how to start a new post on this site so please forgive me for hijacking this thread.  I have a Lenovo Yoga 910-13IKB Model Name 80VF that died about 4 months ago - battery quit charging.  It was three months past warranty...sigh.... I took it back to Best Buy and they told me my charging cable was fine and to get it fixed I'd have to send it off for 6 weeks and it would cost me a minimum of $500.00.  Since I was using this computer for my job (I'm self employed) this really wasn't an option so I went to the apple store and purchased a mackbook pro.  However, I would like to get this Lenovo fixed and use it as a backup.  My questions:1.  Should I replace the battery?2.  Lenovo seems to be out of stock of batteries:  Is there another source where I can buy on line?  I can't find anything.3.  Should I look at replacing the little circuit board that connects the power source to the battery?  I can't seem to find a P/N for it (I removed that back plate of the laptop). Any help or assistance would be greatly appreciated.  Support for this product from Lenovo has been underwhelming to say the least. Jeff BueNewark, Texas, USA

Hi, I bought a new Lenovo Yoga 920-13IKB in Czech Republic and the delivered package contained the following AC power adapter:  model: ADLX65YLC3A, P/N: SA10M13945I want to buy another one, but it is no-where available ! Can somebody warrant me, that the only-available AC adapter with USB-C, the Lenovo ThinkPad 65W AC USB-C, S/N 4X20M26272, will work fine with my laptop please ? Btw, I am wondering why, when I tried to find the original AC adapt., all web sites returned me result that it is not dedicated for my country. I bought the computer with that AC here, so **bleep** Lenovo ? Thank you all

My laptop is only 1 year old and just ran out of warranty 10 days ago. I'm still going to call and see what they can do because my battery is completely drained, will not hold a bit of charge. I tried different outlets, nothing. I am plugged into the right charging port. Lenovo Vantage says my battery health is poor. I did not run any updates prior to this happening. I just ran every update except the BIOS which is not allowing me to since my battery is at 0% and requires a greater than 30% charge for safety. I do not know what I can do other than buy a new battery and try it out. Is this a BIOS issue or a battery issue? My battery was completely fine and I was just using the laptop a few hours ago. I put it to sleep and came back to it completely drained and not able to charge at all. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I bought my PC about 3 weeks ago at a Best Buy in Houston while I visited the united states. About one week after I got it it started to flicker at random times and I don't know what to do.  I have checked online and tried all the solutions including:upgrading graphics driverdisabling some settings in the intel graphics control centerreduce screen refresh frequency (I couldn't do this as the new update to the windows 10 fixes the rate at 60Hz)disabling automatic screen light adjustmentchecking for verified updated BIOS from lenovo website and installing itrunning checks from safe mode non of these solutions is working. Please help me as I am now back home in Nigeria and cannot possibly return the laptop to bestbuy or send it for repair to Lenovo. I really need this laptop functional for school as I spent a lot of money to get it.

I've recently bought a Lenovo Yoga 720 13IKB, considering the battery as one of its biggest pros due to some reviews and adds I read in the Internet. Unfortunately, even after a 100% charge, I can't get no longer than 4h30 / 5 h of battery lifetime prediction / battery lifetime.  I have already decreased brightness, I almost have no apps running in background, but unfortunately it doesn't gets better. The situation is even worse considering that I'm not doing anything but surfing online, texting in word or taking a look at some pictures in Windows Gallery. Have anyone experienced the same problem? Can someone please help me? Is that true that we can get 10h30 (or a bit less, I wouldn't care) like it was advertised or that was just a commercial bait? Thanks in advance!

Hi Friends, I have encountered problem while installing new OS (Windows 10 PRO) on my lenovo Yoga 910-13IKB which we prefer more than the default Windows 10 Home because I have used it more for job related matters. But after it automatically restarts as this was also included on the installation process, the next process became a cycle of basic information request-wifi connection-express settings then restarts again, and the same process continuously repeats. Aside from it, the screen's touch screen feature and the mouse pad are not working. Can anyone help me regarding my concern. I have attached file with images. Thank you.

Okay so I own a Lenovo Yoga 730-13IKB, when I open my laptop I can hear like a creaking sound coming from the hinges. Is that normal? I don't think so since other laptops I've owned have never had that. Do any of you have a similar issue when opening your laptop?

Hi I bought a Lenovo Yoga C930 notebook few days ago, If I put it on the bed for few minutes the heat goes up crazy and the fans are running to the max. Worse than that one of the fans make horrible noise if I shake the laptop, its like it hits something either the cpu or gpu of the plastic base.This is obiviously a manufacturing fault, what do I need to do to fix this?

Having used this for a few weeks, the speakers had always been quite loud. But not sure why suddenly they have become quiet soft, despite being on 100% max volume (with or without Dolby Atmos). Checked all the usual windows settings, everything is on 100%.  Any suggestions?  Speaker drivers: Realtek Semiconductor Corp. 21/06/2018 6.0.1.8472
