Struggling to run games

Q: Struggling to run games

I don't seem to be getting as good fps as I used to as I think my pc is getting old I was wondering what the best spec to upgrade for my pc would be as I don't want to have to upgrade everything at once
Current Specs:
Monitor: S27C450B Series 4 LED
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970
Ram: 8GB
SSD: Samsung SSD 840 EVO 120GB
Processor: Intel(R) Core i7-4790 CPU @ 3.60GHz (8 core)
If I forgot to add anything let me know and preferably please tell me how to find out what it is because I'm not very good when it comes to computer specs

Preferred Solution: Struggling to run games

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

What exact ram? What speed ddr3? Why only 8GB?

If you are gaming , 16GB minimum would be best.

What kind of games do you play? At what resolutions? What graphics settings do you play on now/want to play on?

Recently all of the games that I could run perfectly at 144 fps have been feeling sluggish, and have been dropping in frames.
I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to troubleshooting, or what may be causing the issue, and haven't had any luck in figuring out what may be causing the problems.
I also don't know why my graphics driver comes up as LogMeIn Mirror driver when I run Sysinfo.

The fan on the Power Supply keeps going on and off. It spins for about 1 second then turns off then turns on. Sometimes the fan spins for more than 1 second and it makes a weird squeaky noise. I haven't cleaned my PC properly in months... I used a hair dryer to blow away the dust but problem is still occurring. Should I open up the PSU and clean it further... or is it time for a new PSU?

A:PSU fan struggling

A ahir dryer probably would not provide the appropriate air pressure to do a good job, I suggest trying to clean it with a can of compressed air. These can be picked up for about $3 at walmart, kMart, just about any store that sells electronics. Alswo a cleaning about every two weeks would be a better scheme. I take 5 computers out to my work shop at least every two weeks for a good dust removal. But then I have a small compressor with an air nozzle and turn the pressure down to about 20 PSI.

I am not sure whether I chose the right forum for this topic, as it's not only one game but morelike all processes are affected. When I am playing any game with like, say, 90 fps, it certainly does not feel like 90 fps like it used to feel before the problem. It feels lots of less, choppy, slow and especially when I use mouse to turn and to look around. This same problem comes with not only this game, but other programs and games aswell. Just a simple task like watching a movie from my computer, usually when the camera moves, it feels like the pc is giving some kind of lag. I must say, I did re-install my windows when I noticed the problem but there was no significant change.... So I deduce it must be a hardware problem. I hope you understand something from my explanation

Oh. And I check the temperature on graphics card. It seems to be ok, around 60 degrees? So it could not be due to overheating I guess.

Could it be that the card is broken? May the monitor be faulty? If, how can I get this confirmed?

For the reference my specs are

Intel Core 2 DUO CPU E8500 @ 3.16 Ghz P5Q Deluxe
ATI RADEON HD 4800-series
Windows 7 32-bit

I am very frustrated by the situation, and any help would be highly appreciated
I've once taken my pc for repair but they couldn't fix it.

When I boot up I am getting a window with the message ' There is a problem starting C:\Program Files (x86)\Conduit\CT3309350\plugins\TBVerifier.dll How can I stop this happening?

Run the following and use Clean up button, does issue stop?

Download AdwCleaner by Xplode from here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ and save to your Desktop.
Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.
Vista/Windows 7/8 users right-click and select Run As Administrator
Click on the Scan button.
AdwCleaner will begin...be patient as the scan may take some time to complete.
When it's done you'll see: Pending: Uncheck any elements you don't want removed.
Now click on the Report button...a logfile (AdwCleaner[R0].txt) will open in Notepad for review.
Look over the log especially under Files/Folders for any program you want to save.
If there's a program you want to save, just uncheck it from AdwCleaner.
If you're not sure, post the log for review.
If you're ready to clean it all up.....click the Clean button.
After rebooting, a logfile report (AdwCleaner[S0].txt) will open automatically.
Copy and paste the contents of that logfile in your next reply.
A copy of that logfile will also be saved in the C:\AdwCleaner folder.
Items that are deleted are moved to the Quarantine Folder: C:\AdwCleaner\Quarantine
To restore an item that has been deleted (if necessary):
Go to Tools > Quarantine Manager > check what you want restored > now click on Restore.

Hi, names Zero, new to the forums. but figured it would be a good place for me. anyways onto my problem.

I've been having this issue for about a week now. My audio cuts in and out while streaming on youtube. or other streaming sites, yet on my computer i can listen to music/vids for hours and it wont skip. within a 3 minute vid on youtube or such the audio will cut out for 1-4 seconds. every minute or so. And I know it doesnt have anything to do with my net speed. im on a 10 meg cable connection. and even with the video fully loaded it will do it. I'm no.. novice around computers. but this is one issue that I cant seem to solve on my own.

List of things tried.
Updating audio drivers.
Uninstalling audio drivers. reinstalling, trying without updating first, then reupdating
Updating adobe flash player.
Uninstalling/trying without adobe flash player (Shocked it let me play videos without adobe flash >.>)
Installing older version of adobe flash player.

Tried on both Firefox and Internet explorer. same results with the cutting of audio. so dont think its as simple as bad version of explorers. running latest version of FF. old version of IE. tried on a fresh install of google chrome.

My computer specs.
Windows Xp media edition Service pack 3
Nvidia geforce 9600 gt graphs card.
dual core 2 proc.
3 gigs of ram (Initially four but windows xp wont recognize more then 3)

Soo can anyone help me out here?

Background I have been using VS Revo Pro to uninstall a number of unwanted programs, and in the process noticed that saving of neither a registry backup nor a system restore point was happening.

I contacted VS Revo, and it was suggested that the problem could lay with the permissions settings. The picture taken of the relative properties seems to show that full permissions are granted. Am I perhaps wrong?

The advice about permissions in the Windows 7 system really confuses me, when it talks of objects in editing permissions too. I cannot grasp what the objects wold be in a case like mine, if indeed they are relevant.

I should. please, ask for as much help as I can get on this confusing matter.

I like my Epson Stylus photo R300, has always done a good job of printing my CD/DVDs, but alas since upgrading to Win10 64 bit, (Win 10 works automatically for standard printing) but not for printing CD/DVD it gives me the nag that the driver dealing with CD printing is not installed. Any ideas, your thoughts as always most appreciated. I have installed the latest Print CD software.

A:Struggling to print CD/DVD

I have an Epson 835 that will print to CD/DVD's working in Win 10.

I did an upgrade from Win 8.1 and didn't have to reinstall everything. However, coming from Win 7, reinstalling ALL the Epson software, including the Epson Print CD program may be needed. It appears Win 10 64 bit is supported.

I have a Dell Latitute D600 and everything was working fine. Well I started to get the blue screen of death every so often so I ran a chkdsk repair. I guess it found some errors and corrected them. Anyway, now my computer takes at least twice as long to boot. Anyone have any suggestions?

A:XP struggling to boot

First off try going to Start -> Run -> msconfig
Then go to the Startup tab and start unchecking programs that you don't want starting when your PC does. Be sure you know what you're unchecking first though. The name and manufacturer can give some clues, or googling them will tell you what they are. Unchecking all of the unwanted/unnecessary programs should vastly improve your boot time.

Computer has latest virus definitions downloaded/installed, latest Windows updates installed, Ad-Aware updated, PC Powerwash updated and still the following problems occur regularly:

1. When going to the windows update site (as opposed to letting it download the files on its own and telling you when new updates are available) it closes the browser window upon clicking "Custom Install".

2. Popups kill the computer. There's this WinFixer that keeps coming up and literally 50 popups at a time occur and make themselves little groups on the windows taskbar.

A:AHH! Struggling to fix a computer

Hello, and welcome to TSF!

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should 'not' have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Go to My Computer->Tools/View->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that 'Show hidden files and folders' (or 'Show all files') is enabled. Also make sure that 'Display the contents of system folders' is checked. If you have Windows XP, the search feature is a little different. When you click on 'All files and folders' on the left pane, click on the 'More advanced options' at the bottom. Make sure that 'Search system folders', 'Search hidden files and folders', and 'Search subfolders' are checked.

For the options that you checked/enabled earlier, you may uncheck them after your log is clean. If we ask you to fix a program that you use or want to keep, please post back saying that (we don't know every program that exists, so we may tell you to delete a program that we think is bad to keep).

Download, unzip to your desktop CWShredder and run it, then:

1. Click "Check For Update"

(If an update isn't available, skip to step #4.)

2. Click "Click here to Download the upate".
3. When the new version has been downloaded, click "Save".

Hello, Techies

Here's my problem. (My old hard drive went kaput; we'll talk slave issues later.) For now, however, here's what's wrong: I bought a new 80G hard drive (Seagate), and after much cussing and wrangling, finally got XPPro to load. However, my system only recognizes a "C" drive; neither my cd/rom nor my cd burner are showing up as being in my system. I have no partitions (that I know of; I am a novice...ok, rank amateur). How do I get my computer to recognize the other drives? Thanks a million in advance.

Hi there,

Struggling to get Certificates to work on Win8 for https login to my NAS.
With https enabled on NAS I keep getting the Red https splash security page on both IE and Chrome.

Followed the instructions to generate/edit the Certificate from the NAS (produces new cert timestamp of Feb 2016).
Instructions in NAS docs say I should import this and allow the manager to automatically choose the appropriate certificate folder.
This I do and it puts the certificate into the "Intermediate Certification Authorities" folder by default.

Contacted the NAS company and they don't know why it won't work, as I have followed their documented instructions.

Any help appreciated.

That's not a stupid question. If you completely wipe the disk, then yes, it will take everything away. The disk will be essentially a blank disk with no data, OS, etc. left on it. If you don't want to lose any data from the disk, then you would need to copy the data over to another disk before wiping it. If you want a bootable copy of the disk, then you would need to clone it to another disk before wiping (Macrium Reflect Free is an excellent program for cloning).

Hello Shug, and welcome to Eight Forums.

You can get free games from the Games app or Store on your Start screen. You'll have to be signed in with a Microsoft account to be able to though.

Do you mean the Internet Explorer tile on your Start screen? If not, then where?

Hello, this is my first post to this forum and I thank you so much for taking a moment to read!

I am running Windows 7,
i have an external harddrive that is struggling, as i use it to store my audio files for Pro Tools music production
it is simply very slow as of lately, and i try and back it up in case it completely fails and it takes over night
then when i check, i realize it only backed up maybe a 1/3 of the whole drive because it found an error,
and it seems that the struggling external harddrive turns off or something, because its no longer in My Computer

if you know of a software that will surely pull the files off the drive, that is hopefully free, i;d be much appreciative.
or any help you can offer

once again thank u so much!

A:Backing up a struggling harddrive

No, you have to sit there and babysit the drive (pull files off manually in order of importance) because if its only working for a short time interval due to a hardware issue, no consumer software is going to keep that drive alive while it pulls data off, and in fact your opportunity for pulling data off may be extremely limited so you dont' want to start any automated backup process over and over again without complete success.
You can try a LINUX Live CD distro and see if its better at keeping the drive alive as you're transferring data but if its a heat issue by chance, it would probably take longer to fire up with a Live CD than to get going with 7.
Its also possible that its a problem with the bridge hardware/firmware so swap cables if possible, change ports/computers or if advanced, remove the drive from the external enclosure and hook it up directly to its native form of I/O.

I'd like to start by saying thanks to anyone who can help. I've been trying to remove this virus for a few days now with little success.

Please bear this in mind: The virus actually took control of my computer and I restored it. The logs that I share FIRST are taken from before the original time.

Also, I have no GMER logs. Originally the laptop crashed before it had finished and I never managed to recover before I restored (system restore). I now can't open/copy or do anything with GMER.exe without admin permissions. Funny thing is I have admin permissions but i won't let me do anything with the file.

AVG 2011 Free picked up the virus and it claimed to successfully remove it although it needed to reboot. For some reason explorer.exe and itunes.exe seemed to be corrupted and were being treated as infected files.

OS: Vista Home Premium x32

This is what happens when you log in:
1. "WMIServi Application stopped working and was closed"
2. Every executable that isn't part of windows is blocked by the firewall.
3. Acer eNet Management tells me to "Check the status of the Acer eNet service"

When browsing the internet sometimes searches redirect to famoussearchsystem.com. Also, I left the laptop on all day and came back to see it had opened 16 windows on the same page (famoussearchsystem.com).

Using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware I found a number of corrupted files but the same happened as with AVG Free. It informs me to reboot but a... Read more

Sorry I cannot edit my first post but I thought this might be important. AVG was at the stage where it should have uninstalled but failed so I ran an AVG removal tool which rebooted the computer. I've had WiFi off since posting and on reboot a message popped up:

Would like some advice regarding hardware diagnosis of motherboard versus CPU.

I use a tester for PS and seem to have no problem diagnosing failure.
I can take RAM out of current PC and put in another pc to test.

So what can I test if the PS works & RAM works but when PS is plugged into mobo no fans & only red/green light appears on mobo? No other signs of life? Is there a way to properly diagnose between CPU and Mobo?

Hello,It's better to print out the next instructions or save them in notepad, because you also have to work in safe mode without networking support, so this page wouldn't be available then.It is also important you don't miss a step and perform everything in the right order!!I see you have Windows Defender running. The real-time protection may interfere with the fixes, that's why I want you to turn it off.To turn real-time protection offOpen Windows Defender. Defrag stopped displaying progress and there was no hdd activity, so I waited and then shut defrag down. Had troubles so rebooted. On restart mouse would not move and keyboard didn't work. So I turned it off again. On restart I kept mouse moving and that stopped it from freezing, but svchost is running 50% and I can't open any programs. If I open exploer I can see the folders but it stops responding if I try to click on one.

In safe mode I looked at the event viewer and the only unique event since the trouble started is to do with cdr4_xp.sys. This is something with roxio so I rid of of everything roxio, including this driver and all registry keys. The problem has not resolved. Safe mode with networking seemed to have the same problems as normal windows.

I believe the defrag crash had something to do with me disabling my wireless during defrag. The popup window stayed open.

Any help would be appreciated. I don't have an external hard drive so I'm hoping for solutions that don't require backup, but beggars can't be choosers.

Sorry for the careless English. I'm on an iPod to write this. Also iPod seems to correct defrag to defray. I missed it in title.

If you can get into Safe Mode try doing a System Restore.Start> All Programs> Accessories> System Tools> System Restore. When this opens make sure that "Restore my computer to an earlier time" is chosen, and click on Next>.The dates appearing in bold are the dates that you can restore to, click on the date that you want and then click Next> to start the System Restore, you may get the message telling you that you will have to restart your computer to start, click ok. When the computer restarts and you have logged on as the administrator a Restoration Complete page will appear, click on OK to complete the process.

Hi I'm new here so if anythings unclear or not stated please ask and i'll try and explain better.

I've been having a problem with the sound on my laptop, when im doing nothing else at all it ok (most of the time) but when i do anything, even as little as to minimise a window the sound cuts in and out, its like its stuttering. sounds like my system was struggling to cope.

So i did everything i could think of, cleaned out my hard drive, defragged, run anti-virus/spyware software. But it's no better - i have no idea whats causing it now. Ive been trying to understand all the processes and CPU usage in the task manager to see whats goin on but ive been largely unsuccessful.

Im running a Philips freevents laptop, 2GB ram, 100GB hard drive (now 40% empty after a hefty clean out!) , WIN XP

I have a URL, I've figured out how to make links display in my sheet, now I'm trying to figure out how to take 4-5 numbers out of a giant url. I'm having extreme difficulty doing this. After I extract these numbers I'm planning on inserting it into another macro to make everything automated, right now we have a dialog box macro where it goes 1 by 1 and asks for these numbers and we are manually pulling them out of the url which is time consuming when you have a 500 product project.

Heres the URL:

I've learned it before I'm sure but its not coming to mind right now. anyways Help is greatly appreciated, I've pretty much got a sheet with about 300 links in A and I have to extract those five numbers!

Dear Friends,

Hope all is well...

My desktop after I first boot it up seems to take forever before I can do much with it.

The wireless mouse hardly will move and if or when it does and I try to open lets says a thumbnail on my desktop, it just sits there. Doesn't even highlight the thumbnail at that point.

After you wait for 10 maybe 15 minutes it will start to operate in a more healthy manner.

I have run both MWB and AdwareCleaner and nothing is found.

This machine only has a single core processor which I'm sure is not helping, But...

Any help or suggestions appreciated.

Cheers, Rafael

A couple of days ago I suddenly found my AV disabled and my web traffic being redirected, following some playing around I managed to install Symantec End Point protection, which Ran, said I had sirefef and all seemed well. But I still had odd options for Windows Defender & MEP Etc.
I found a guide on here by Gringo which I followed, which seemed to do the Job.
But now I am left with one final problem
Windows update refuses to install KB2813170 & KB2676562 From April and May Respectively.
I think I have missed a step out or not ran a particular tool. I am wondering have I missed something.

Ok here is the situation.

I noticed yesterday on my WD Green drive some data was slow to read e.g. excessive time to start playing video file, and at same time was read errors logged in SMART so decided to order 2 new drives and move the data.

Today I got the drives, swapped some cables round as one of my red's I realised was on the asmedia controller and I want all my red's on the intel controller, and installed the 2 new WD red drives.

For reference here is the setup

Intel controller

Samsung 850 pro ssd - system drive
WD Black 640 gig
2 Existing WD red 3TB
2 New WD red 3TB

Asmedia controller
WD green 2TB

Out of case temporarily due to lack of SATA ports
Samsung 750gig

Now today something unexpected happens, I am sorting out the data that will be going to the new redundant setup and suddenly I notice when trying to play a video stored on the hdd the hdd light is on all the time and the video isnt loading, task manager reports a constant high speed been read (in this case 140megabyte/sec). Explorer gets the not responding status, and killing it stops the i/o. I repeat and same file again same issue. I deleted the file. After checking over some other files same problem again on another file, I discovered tho after leaving it 20 minutes the video did actually start playing. Now some more weirdness, it seems I only have to highlight the file in explorer for the everlasting i/o, I dont even need to try and load the file, so selecting a bad file is enough for a ... Wondering if it is worth trying to fix issue, or just re-install (and which method is best?)

Part of our strategy to do the right thing for our teenage offspring is to try and limit the amount of time they spend glued to the computer screen playing online games etc. We've tried parental management functions in our router to put time limits on IP leases but it turns out our isp has disabled those functions in the router. So I've tried setting up user accounts with password access. Waste of time because a 2 second search of Google finds 15 ways to circumvent account passwords. I know there must be a way to lock it down so the devious little blighters can't discover the passwords. I also want to know how to block access to a certain IP address so they can't log in to the router and find or change the Wi-Fi password. Can somebody give me some pointers at all?
Thanks in advance

Hi, not sure where to post this so I'll start here.
My computer has recently started slowing almost to a crawl for no understandable reason. For example just not all I had open were IE with about 5 tabs, MS Word and streaming internet radio through VLC (plus the usual MSN which I wasn't talking on, virus checker etc.)

While the computer won't let me do any work in Word or IE, the radio is still playing.

I have run spybot, adaware and AVG spyware as well as virus checker, and after a few initial tracking cookies, have found nothing to suggest malware.

My system: 3GHz x2 AMD Athlon, 2 GB RAM, 512 MB 8600 GT graphics card, Asus M2N-E SLI Mobo, vista business x64.

Are there any diags you could suggest to find a solution to this - very hard to work when the computer stops working!

Im not excaly sure where this should go, but admins feel free to move this post if its in the wrong section. I tried overclocking my computer, and to make a long story short, i couldnt get it to OC, so i restored everything to default, and it still has trouble booting. Sometimes it will boot if i let it sit for like 10min, other times it will if i unplug my second HDD. Does anyone have any ideas?

I was thinking it might be the Power supply..

A:Computer struggling to boot

if you were playing around with overclocking, it's possible that you damaged some hardware, keep that in mind. you should probably doublecheck what you have done to the bios (load defaults perhaps) to make sure you haven't made a setting whilst trying to overclock that is causing your problems.

I am using Windows XP. I am getting occasional advertisement pop-ups that happen through Windows explorer even though I am a FireFox user. Sometimes these pop-ups happen when I am not doing anything internet related.I've spent a lot of time already on trying to remove them. They started when I let my wife use my account for some internet browsing -- I'll never do that again! I've done virus scans with Trend Micro Internet Security, Spyware Doctor, Malware Bytes Anti-Malware, IO Bit Security 360, Housecall, and AVG -- none of them turned up anything (though my Malware Bytes version is old and I was not able to get updates -- it told me to check my firewall settings and I have not done that yet because I know nothing about firewalls). The one that did turn up something was Spybot Search and Destroy, which found Win32.Sdbot.aad. I think Spybot removed it, but I'm still getting the popups.I also did system restore twice, because other problems starting happening as well -- Windows would not shut down, it just hung. I think I have that problem fixed now due to going back long enough on a system restore. I hope.Interestingly, once I did the system restore, I had to re-install FireFox because it was no longer launching. So I did that. When you first install FireFox, Internet Explorer complains that IE is no longer your default browser. Hi all, im new here as you can see and i'm sorry if this seems like a simliar post, but believe me ive been struggling for last few hours over internet on information and how to do things and getting in all kinds of trouble (i will admitt im not 100% best at computers), so here goes whats been happening with my new machine last few weeks.

2 weeks ago i had both monitors go black, then blue with the whole "prevent damage....etc" with code 0X00000116 (display drivers). It happend 3x times and that was just browsing normal on the internet, no games etc. The company of the computer told me to unistill catalyst programme and re-install. updated all windows, seemed to be fine from there on.

Few days later after the screen saver went off and monitors to black i noticed when moved mouse and come back on, it said "display drivers were not responding, but succesfully recovered" on the bottom bar, but i thought nothing of it and it seemed fine.

I now had today the BSOD again but this time code: 0x00000124 (uncorrectable hardware issue), i restarted, researched on internet and found some different answers.

after leaving the computer on as was downstairs on phone, come back to see screen saver went off and screens black, moved the mouse, but they just stayed black. NOTE: This has happened once before also. restarted as only thing i could do

last hour ive had BSOD once again with code: 0x0000019 (bad_pool_header).

Im puzzled now as to whats going on. as i speak ... Read more

A:BSOD - Struggling to understand

Please follow the instructions in this post to provide us with some information: http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...tructions.html

Just FYI - the "display drivers were not responding, but succesfully recovered" message is usually indicative of a STOP 0x117 BSODish error. It's very similar to the STOP 0x116 error and we troubleshoot them the same way.

While waiting for a reply, please uninstall all the ATI video drivers from your system. Then use this procedure to install the DRIVERS ONLY: ATI video cards - DRIVER ONLY installation procedure

If that doesn't help, then start by looking at this post (about troubleshooting the STOP 0x116/0x117 errors): STOP 0x116: VIDEO_TDR_ERROR troubleshooting
You can also have a look at this one (about the STOP 0x124 error) - but I wonder if it'll be any help: Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try

Finally, you can start running these free hardware diagnostics. I'd start with the memory test/Prime95 and the video tests: Hardware Diagnostics

How new is this machine? Is the system and/or the video card still under warranty?

I'll keep it brief!
I've recently realised that I don't get the 'Run as Admin' option on any program that I right click on.
All I get is 'Run as ...', which when clicked on, opens a Run As box into which I type Administrator ......................... but that does nothing.
I've also discovered that I can't do a 'system restore'.
I opened up a thread in your Windows XP forum (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/596139/i-cant-run-as-admin-or-do-a-system-restore/) and have now been advised by LOUIS, one of your mods, to start a new thread here.
The reason being that, apart from my initial two problems, I am currently unable to download programmes from the web.
I was having issues with Avast, recently installed as advised, interfering with my emails. I then uninstalled Avast, only to find I couldn't install anything else due to my downloading problems.
I've just installed an AV prog after downloading it from a laptop onto a flash drive and then putting it onto this PC.
When trying to download a prog, a box appears asking me whether I'd like to save the file or cancel. As soon as I click on 'save file' the programme box disappears!
I'm sorry to be a pain, but my problems are increasing at an alarming rate!
Oh, I also get random reboots ....................... and I mean random! None for weeks, then four in one evening!
Please help me if you can.
Thanks in advance,

Hi all, Just bought my new Acer E5-737G-525G, it's ani5-6200u core, with 8gb of ram, and a 940M card, a tidy piece of kit that shouldn't in theory be subject to any system lag or slowdowns. However, this is the SECOND laptop i recieved after the other one went back due to sluggish initial performance and me assuming that this was due to a drive issue. However, it seems like this one is having the same sort of issues. Consistent spiking for long periods to 100% HDD utilization and it takes an age to start up and the icons "page" in after you've started Windows. Can't say im super satisfied with the performance. I am not sure what i should do, if this is a reach out to Acer affair or just fix it myself.  Both RAM and CPU are hardly being maxed if at all, whilst the drive is usually at 100%ish and i can see visible lag on my performance as a result. Please help! I dont wanna have to buy an SSD quite yet lol

A:Brand New E5 Struggling with 100% HDD Utilization

Check in task manager in the "Disk" column. What is causing the 100% disk usage? is it windows defender? If it is, then get rid of it - Turn it off. If its MacAfee, GET RID OF THAT ABSOLUTE PEICE OF JUNK I believe your laptop has a Western Digital WD10JPVX Hard drive, just like my laptop had. Oh, waht a horror McAfee was to that poor hard drive.

Hi -Can you be just a bit more specific about "bogs down" -Please download MiniToolBox, Save it to your desktop and run it.Checkmark the following checkboxes:?Flush DNS?Report IE Proxy Settings?Reset IE Proxy Settings?Report FF Proxy Settings?Reset FF Proxy Settings?List content of Hosts?List IP configuration?List last 10 Event Viewer log?List Installed Programs?List Users, Partitions and Memory size.?List Minidump FilesClick Go and post the result (Result.txt). A copy of Result.txt will be saved in the same directory (Desktop) the tool is run.Note: When using "Reset FF Proxy Settings" option Firefox should be closed.Thank You -
