Can't Install Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015

Q: Can't Install Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015

Hello!

I am trying to install Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 from the following link.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/down....aspx?id=48145

I pick the x64 version, because that is what my computer is. However, after downloading, when I try to install it by running the program, the progress bar fills fine until the very end, where it freezes. This is shown in picture 1.

When I press cancel, a quick box opens up asking if I'm sure, and when I click yes, the screen looks like what is shown in picture 2.

And so I click on the log file, and it shows me this:

Preferred Solution: Can't Install Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi!
I want to use XAMPP on my machine. But unfortunately, I cannot run Apache without installing Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable. I tried installing x64 first (since I am using 64bit windows), but after waiting for almost 3 hours, it's stuck on almost 89%. Next I tried installing x86. But it's the same as the x64 installer. Stuck at almost 89%. What should I do?

Forgive me if this is the wrong forum category and forum, I was told to post in the TechNet  forum for this issue by Micah Bat.
Tried updating Elder Scrolls Online. Couldn't because according to them:

Computer reboots during patch download
This is due to an update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable. Once this update is applied, your patch progress should continue. In the event you get stuck in a rebooting loop, you can visit Microsoft?s page to
download the update manually.

I redownload the 64 bit because it was already up to date and it still reboots upon trying to update the game. Tried to get the 32 bit update. Apparently the version
I have is also up to date, so I just decided to try redownloading the 32 bit version and see if it helps. Wouldn't let me uninstall the 32 bit version. Told me to reboot, but it didn't do a thing.

Keep getting error code 0x8007015e - No action was taken as a system reboot is required. You must restart your computer to complete the rollback of the software. Talked to tech support. Told me to
perform a clean reboot. Didn't do anything. Even checked off the disable Microsoft programs. Here is the log file:

Greetings,
We have seen a problem starting last week (Sept 10th) with an update to Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable that appears to break users printing. Their default printers disappear and if we try to re-add the printer, the error is
"The Print Processor Does Not Exist."  We also get "Windows cannot connect to the printer. No Printers were Found." if we just try to add the printer from the server. This is across different customers
and different networks.  We have to do System restores to before this update to fix the problem.  The users are all windows 7 Pro and on domains.
The C++ Update does not appear in the Installed Updates so we cannot uninstall it from Updates however, when we do a system restore the restore point show up from when these updates were installed.
We have tried various old fixes for this error:

- Updated Printing Registries and copying files from working machines (no success)
- Re-install driver - replacing the drivers with new ones (no success)
- Trying newer drivers - removing and replacing the old ones (no success)
- Removing computers from the domain, removing the drivers and installing fresh drivers and installing as local printers (no success)
We do NOT know the problem - but this update is the only culprit and what we believe is the issue.  Has ANYONE else seen this and possibly have a fix? Right now if we do not have system restore available, we have to ... Read more

I am not that picky about which version, Professional or Enterprise, but where/how can I buy it in such a way, that I download a .iso, that I can burn to a DVD.  I need to then transfer this installation to a different machine.

I would prefer that there are NO Internet connections while installing.  Are there companies that set it up on a drive?

I had a real bad experience with Community Edition.  It worked fine for 30 days, everything worked perfectly.  Then it did some stuff with my logins, and I did what they said, and from that point on, the Debugger crashed this one project all the time.  I hadn't known of anything that should have changed.

Also, can I get the versions of Visual Studion 2015 before the Updates.  I do not need the updates, nor do I want them.

I am stuck right now, until I set up a new machine.  My old machine is ruined, and it will take a long time to diagnose what the problem is, so I bought a new machine in the meantime.

Thank you.

Visual Studio 2015 stutters on my computer in the sense that everything freezes up for like 2-3 secs before returning to normal. (Even the blinking typing thing freezes in a solid line)

The only other software which I encounter this is ezvid video editor.

I'm guessing it's something on the software/system side, given how my hardware is relatively lag-proof. My games also don't suffer from this stuttering issue, so it can't be the generic 'game stuttering' fix going around the net.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Hello, I have been trying to install visual studio 2015 so I can install the core tools.

Every time I install Visual Studio 2015 I get errors with packages not installing and these subsequently prevent me from installing the core tools. I get errors for the following packages

NuGet
Connected services (4 packages)

Office365

I get these errors in both the community and professional versions. The install log shows the following errors for each of the packages shown below

My laptop has: 1.6mhz processor, 2gb RAM, and 32gb internal storage. Taking an online course for C++ programming. Course requires Visual Studio 2015. Course syllabus states requirements are: 1.6mhz processor, 1gb RAM, and 4gb or more of free space on hard drive. I installed VS successfully, even though this alone ate up 8gb of space?? Then I had to install 2 missing components after I opened VS, and that installation was unsuccessful because the error message said I needed yet another 4gb more of space that I no longer had. I am confused because the syllabus said only 4gb of space is needed for VS 2015, NOT 12gb total.I have tried deleting temporary files, other unused apps, and even reset the laptop to factory mode, all to no avail. Do I just need a better laptop to download software designed for programming?

Hi. I don't know what has happened but my pc is running strangely recently. For example, I can't install the visual c redistributable (vcredist.exe), or directx 9.0c, and some games don't work which did a while ago - now they crash to the desktop. I haven't got a restore which fixes the problem. It is all a bit strange.
I've got windows 7 64 bit on a Dell vostro - i7 860, 4g ram etc.
I've tried microsoft security essentials, all manner of spyware removers including spyware search & destroy to no avail.
What should be the next step in investigating this?
Thanks for any help!

A:can't install visual c redistributable, or directx 9.0c, can't update - security update for visual c++, system update...

Microsoft Windows 7 already has DirectX 11, so installing version 9 will always fail and is useless. It also has VC++ redistributable 2005 and 2008. The latest version which is not included on Windows 7 is VC++ 2010 redistributables which you should install (but very few games are designed in VC++ 2010 today). When games fail, they create a crash report or log. You should go through them and try to find the possible cause. What message do games show when crashing?Check Event Viewer to find the possible cause of crashing of a game.

A:Visual Studio 2015 Crash on Windows 10 Anniversary Update

Applications don't always migrate correctly to a new build. So sometimes, you are forced to re-install them.

This is not a problem with "the new windows", it's a problem with the app migration during the upgrade. Re-installing makes things correct again.

VS always freezes if I run application then I can see application run in task manager but I can't see window and I can't terminate this process.
Programs compiled in Visual Studio 2015 which worked a week ago now won't work too- same problem.
Other 3rd party programs works without problem even newly installed.

I have tried:
> reset VS
> repair VS
> reinstall vcredist2015
> reinstall visual studio
> sfc /scannow
> check disk

any idea? (sry for english)

A:compiled programs in Visual Studio 2015 Community are invisible

I have the same problem.
I work with Visual Studio 2015, Windows 10.
When I compile a C++ program, with Visual Studio, it doesn't work anymore. The .exe file generated stays opened in "system", and blocks the execution.
The .exe files that I compiled a week ago work fine. But when I recompile the same code and it frozes.

I'm not sure, but I suspect Windows 10 updates to be responsible...

We have a local git server at our company, And I have been using Visual Studio 2015 with a local git respository to edit it. For 4 weeks I had no problem doing sync, fetch, pull, etc. But now all those options are missing. I can't seem to figure out how
to reconnect the local repository with the host. Any help would be appreciated.
remote server:

https://flatbed.ourcompany.com/git/had.git
what I see now (if I choose manage connections, all I get is a message about connecting to GITHUB (which is not what I am trying to do, and that is the GitHUB VS2015 extension) and connecting to a Team server, which we do not have at our company.

The Home screen has settings, but it says no available settings:

I'm running 64-bit Windows 7 and I'm trying to install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable. However, whenever I run the installation, everything goes fine until a point late in the installation where the green bar fills and I'm given the message

"Publishing product information
Feature: FT_VC_Redist_OpenMP_x64"

and it simply stays like that. I left it for an hour and it did nothing, Google'd the problem and someone else seems to have a similar issue but they unhelpfully said that they "solved it".

I've tried uninstalling it, downloading a new version of the installer, installing in safe mode/"Run as administrator"- nothing works. Anyone have any ideas?

On Steam, there is a game I bought several months ago called Victory at Sea. I played this game for several hours on my laptop and it worked okay. However, when I installed it on my new desktop PC and launched, it gave me this message:

I launched this game directly from the Steam library like any other game I have on Steam and there are no internet connection problems. I looked on the discussions page for this game and I found some posts of players explaining they've had a similar problem just like mine. Fortunately, someone from the game developer team have read these posts and responded with solutions. For some, they fixed their issues. For others including me, they lead to other issues.

I made a post of my own and the developer was kind enough to send me some possible fixes:

Verify integrity of game cache: Completed, but issue persists.
Re-download and install Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable, uninstall existing program first:

I checked on Uninstall or Change Program in Control Panel and it was not there:

So I went ahead with the link he gave me (Download Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x64) from Official Microsoft Download Center), downloaded it, ran the installer and just before it finishes, I get this:

I told the developer about this and so far, I haven't found an answer. Since VC++ 2010 does not appear in Uninstall or Change Program, there's nothing I can do knowingly that tells me that VC++ 2010 is installed in my computer. My desktop run... Read more

I can't install Visual C++ 2010. Or 2008. Or any Visual C++ as far as I can tell.
I am literally tearing my hair out. I can't play a ton of games that require this and now is a really bad time for me. I have tried almost everything the internet can come up with, and I thought I'd post it here, though it's very likely that like last time, I won't get a single reply.

In any case, I've tried:
Running the installer as administrator
Running it in safe mode
Running it in a clean boot
Uninstalling all VC++ files and reinstalling them (re installation didn't work)
Uninstalling all .NET frameworks and reinstalling (worked fine)
Installing it using a game installer (Specifically, Mechwarrior online, also failed to install VC++)
I've tried running dozens of variations of MS fixit, to no avail
I've posted on the MS forums and called tech support, which suggested that I would pay around 250$ (**** you Microsoft, thank you very much ) to get it fixed. Screw that.
I've used C-Cleaner to clean the registry (might have caused the issue in the first place)
I've de-fragmented regularly
I've updated all the software and drivers (including Windows)
I've created a separate user account that had admin privileges (didn't work there either, meaning it isn't a corrupt user account)
I don't have any restore points from before the issue (trust me, If I get it fixed, I sure as hell will from now on)

Ok, previously to get something from a database to a variable in a web based app the code went something like this:
DataAdapter.Fill(Dataset1)

after the dataset had been filled in this way a variable could be set by

variablex=dataset.tables(0).rows(0).items(0)
Now, after converting the project and all associtated files I've got SQLDataSource to use.

So, after lots of fruitless searching I'm asking just how the above statement translates to work as a means of retrieving a field from an SQLDataSource?

Hello everyone,

I have a question about the visual studio .net 2002. Is there any downloadable patches or upgrades to support a file that is being written / coded from visual studio .net 2003 to visual studio .net 2002?

My friend and I discovered lately that when you create a project (e.g. vb .net win app) in vb.net 2003 then save it and you want to open it again but in vb.net 2002, the project you created using vb.net 2003 cannot be opened using vb.net 2002.

On the other side, when you try to create and save a project in vb.net 2002 and you try opening it in vb.net 2003, there is really no problem, cause vb.net 2003 will convert a project (a message will prompt you and will give you a choice if that project should be converted) that was save under vb.net 2002.

Anyway, is there any updates of visual studio .net supporting projects that was created on vb.net 2003 and opening those project(s) using vb.net 2002?

Any help is highly appreciated.

A:Migrating Visual Studio .NET 2002 to Visual Studio .NET 2003

i had this problem the other week (downloaded an article from codeproject or codeguru, but wouldnt load in 2002), im not sure of any patches that will fix the problem, but there is a work around if you dont mind altering certain project files.

The problem is with ProductVersion within the .csproj files, they are different between 2002 and 2003. If you alter them to the previous version they will then loadup. You may also need to alter the .sln file as well (again compare a 2002 ver that loads and the 2003 ver). Not giving any promises about it working, but it did work with the project i had.

I guess it would be quite easy to write a little utility that would go through a project and alter the said files. Dont know how many people would find use of it though.

The problem is no new software will install for me. It gets hung up every time on Visual C++ Redistributable, no matter what version. Lately I've installed and uninstalled many things. Also deleted registry values. So I probably deleted something, I just don't know what.

1. I have tried repairing and uninstalling all versions of VRC++ including 2008 and 2012. Every time it says "initializing" and never moves on.

2. Tried booting clean and in safe mode. Neither worked.

3. Tried creating a new user with admin privileges. Did not work.

4. Tried enabling all Microsoft startup services and disabling all non-Microsoft startup services. Nope.

5. Tried using this tool, VC Redist Installer. I really thought this would work, too! It gets stuck on here forever, no matter if I select 2005 or 2008 or 2012.

What is a guaranteed way to just "replace" these files with a clean version?

Running Windows 7 64-bit, Lenovo laptop.

I am trying to install some software. The installation goes smoothly until the last minute, when the installer tries to install "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable". This also works, but at the last minute it hangs with one second left to go, thus preventing me from installing the software at all. An error then pops up, saying: "Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.ATL,type="win32",version="8.0.50727.762",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",processorArchitecture="x86"'. Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT: 0x800736B3."

I am running on Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit with SP1.

Can someone tell me how to fix this?

I think this will fix it: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/956699You can either run the fix manually or download the automatic FixIt tool on that page.

I'm trying to install an Intel diag tool, an it needs Visual C++ Redistributable x64 - 10.0.30319.
That one won't install because it found the newer Visual C++ Redistributable x64 - 10.0.40219.
Do I actually have to uninstall the newer one to install the older? That's not good because I don't know what needed to install the one I have.
