Power Manager Lite

Q: Power Manager Lite

My battery had recently died and I haven't had the time or money to buy a new one. My Dell laptop, which I only bought not even a full year ago, still works as long as it's plugged into a power source. The problem is, and it's the biggest nuisance ever, is that the Dell Power Manager Lite notifies me all the time that my battery isn't working or something along the lines of it. It's extremely annoying because it pops up every few minutes or seconds even and interrupts important things. I've done everything I can to try to turn off the notifications, as there is no real option to turn them off. I can't uninstall this program as it's nowhere in my files. Control panel has no way to uninstall it either. I am stuck with the most annoying popup notification. My question is, how can I turn off power manager lite notifications or uninstall the program completely when there are no straight options?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

FOr the last few weeks... I get an error message every time I plug my charger in.  Now I cannot charge my battery.  sometime it works and other times not.  May be related to what ever else is plugged into the house outlets at home... iPad, iPhone, Mac computers, HP printer, etc.

Very annoying and now cannot leave my puter unplugged.

I think it is a software issue as the charger and cord all work fine to keep the puter alive when plugged in.

When I was inputting my battery charge thresholds, I noticed that the word normally was missing the letter 'a' when I clicked on the dot next to where it shows the condition of the battery. I was surprised that Dell would let something like a spelling error make it to a public version. I am running an up to date v1.0.4 of Power Manager Lite. Does anyone know how to submit there types of errors to Dell? Or more specifically, a proper email to get it to the right department? Thanks in advance.

I have a Dell Inspiron 15 (i7548-2129SLV). The system worked fine for a couple of years. Now, on boot, I get the message: "The AC power adapter wattage and type cannot be determined. The battery may not charge. …"
But I have a Dell 65w power adapter and it is connecting properly (the screen is brighter when the power adapter is connected). BIOS shows the battery is in excellent condition, as does Dell Power Manager Lite. Battery icon in the task bar shows “16% available (plugged in, not charging)”. I have followed all the instructions in another thread with the same subject, including uninstalling and reinstalling the ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery in Device Manager, and the problem remains. I even bought a new power adapter, but same problem.

I have done the custom settings for battery from dell power management. I have set that the battery should start charging when it is at 50% and stop charging at 80%. When the battery has charged 80%.It has stopped charging. But the discharging of the battery is not happening itself. I have to remove the ac power so that the laptop should start using battery instead of ac power. The battery should self discharge when it reaches 80% and start charging when it reaches 50%. which is not happening currently. Can any suggest any solution.

held the pwr butt in for 5 sec's, plugged directly in the wall, no change. I opened up the tower and
checked the cable connections and all seem to be tight. No change. So far, my diagnosis---most likely power supply is bad, am I correct?

Been having a problem with my new laptop that's getting progressively more annoying.
Every so often Power Monitor Lite pops up a dialogue box that states that it does not recognise my battery & that 3rd party batteries could catch on fire. I should order a new Dell battery to fix this.
Originally this happened maybe once per day. Now it can be once per hour. It now also stacks, leaving multiple instances open in the background after I leave the system on with no activity.
Seeing as my laptop is pretty much fresh from box and has had no hardware changes made to it this is obviously wrong.
It is more frustrating that if I open Power manager Lite It shows Dell as the battery maker. The only thing on the info screen is that the program cannot establish "battery health"
I would normally remove this software as Windows perfectly good power management built in but I cannot find anything listed under add/remove - this seems to be a Win 10 thing as I have found advice for Win 8 saying it can be removed this way.
Any advice on how to remove this program or at least disable it's notifications?

A:Win 7 Power Options or HP Power Manager ??

HP Factory Install is the worst possible install of Win7 one can have, larded with bloatware and duplicate utilities which interfere with better versions built into Win7. That's why most tech enthusiasts won't even run such an install but instead Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

Everything needed is in the blue link to get and keep a perfect install just like a million others have done without a single complaint.

If you'd rather first try to clean it up you can try these steps to Clean Up Factory Bloatware
but HP is the worst of all brands for its bloatware so if you ever want to experience native perfect Win7 performance on that machine I'd do the reinstall.

Hi, I'm running a T61P, Win7 Ent/SP1. System Update repeatedly showed Power Manager 6.67.5 as available after repeated successful updates. I DLd the update and tried to run it manually, but it kept telling me there was an earlier version of PM installed, and did I want to remove it. I said yes, and it seemed to uninstall (and reboot), but trying to run the PM update kept showing the "previous version installed" prompt. I used Add/Remove to uninstall both PM and the PM driver, then searched the registry and removed all references to PM from there, then sarched the hard drive and removed all PM files I could find. I still can't install PM. It's still telling me that there's an earlier version installed. I tried downloading and installing previous versions of PM back to v3, but I still get that frustrating "previous version" prompt and can't get beyond that. Please does anybody have a way to get past this prompt? GaryK

After spending $99 on a paid Lenovo tech-support instance that required days of fighting to get through to an ultimately clueless level-2 tech (he tried to use RevoUnistallPro to uninstall a directory containing a downloaded-but-uninstalled version of Power Manager), I solved this on my own and am here posting the solution in case anyone else runs into a similar problem--inability to install Power Manager upgrades with the error message that a previous install exists: Search in the registry for and delete all found occurrences of PWRMGR and PWRMGRV. Once there were gone I was able to install the current Power Manager instance for Win7 (6688 as of this posting). GaryK

System : XPS13 MLK (9360)
OS  : Windows 10 Pro

Intel Core i7-7560U @ 2.40GHz

(this thread follows this one)
I installed "Dell Command | Power Manager" (v 2.2.0).
In "Thermal Management" when switching between the 4 presets (Optimized, Cool, Quiet and Ultra Performance) it seems that only the first change is working.
For example :
If I boot with Ultra Performance and decide after to go to Quiet to get rid of fan noise, it works, almost instantly. I monitor what happens with my ears  and with HWiNFO64 and BurnIn Test :
In Ultra Performance all Core Clock are not maxed, reached 3792 MHz (that's the Turbo Speed for Intel Core i7-7560U @ 2.40GHz) and Fan at 6100 RPM
In Quiet each Core Clock seems maxed at ~1696 MHz (although in some of my tests I have seen it at ~2395Mhz, perhaps it's Optimized preset and not Quiet) and CPU Fan at 0 RPM
After that If I choose Ultra Performance mode nothings happens. CPU sticks to the maxed Core Clock until I reboot.
Very annoying to have to reboot to switch back to another thermal mode.

If this policy setting is enabled and users
