I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have read in several posts that people have had a difficult time finding replacement rubber feet. Well I need one asap! I don't want to have to order an entirely new part for my thinkpad. Infuriating. I can't even get past support staff on the phone without saying this. What do I need to do to get replacement feet?

I have been trying to find a rubber foot to replace one that is missing from base cover on my Lenovo Yoga 12 - MTM: 20DK-S1WL00 Without the foot, my tablet wobbles when I type. It is so annoying. It doesn't seem they are available from Lenovo. The only place I have found the replacement rubber foot / FRU 01AW571 was here on eBay. The feet on eBay are expensive! I rather purchase directly from Lenovo if I can. Please help!

Hello Community, I am missing a Rubber Feet on My Thinkpad S440. Unfortunately i cant find  which detailed partnumber this thing has. Contacting Lenovo and IBM Support was not very successfull till now. When i search for my modelnumber "20AY00BMGE" i can find the following parts:  00HM522 "Rubber kit(2).base.non-touch"00HM524 "Rubber kit(400).base.non-touch" But which one is the corret one? I would be very gratefull if you could help me (: Best Regards

A:Order Rubber Feet Thinkpad S440

Hi

I search for both part numers on the Internet without much luck. I even say a site where it says the "Rubber kit(400).base.non-touch" cames with 400 units which sound wrong (but you never know).

The only idea that cames to me mind is to ask for the price of both units. Maybe the price is low, since they are rubber feets, and you can order both just in case. I know it is dumb idea but I haven't found anything on the Internet about those parts.

I am currently typing this on a bluetooth keyboard attatched to my phone...  Thank God for the keyboard.   Anyway my laptop is obviously down.  It started off where it wouldn't turn on at all.  I simply got 3 lights on the thinkpad when plugging it in, and two lights when trying to get it to turn on.  Then after letting it sit for a while, it would turn on and boot up, only to shut off after 20 seconds or so...  Then it finally booted all the way up, and I was extremely happy...  I even journaled about how happy I was on my journal software on my computer, but after shutting it down all that happens is a solid thinkpad light when I turn it on, and the keyboard flashes like normal then...  no screen comes on.   I thought to myself, at least I have a backup tablet...  I guess I had it sitting in its case too long because it seems that the battery is gone on it and wont even turn on so I am left using my tablets keyboard with my phone to write to you fine people.  Like I said, I am very grateful for this keyboard making my situation much more bearable. Please help.  I am thinking all signs are pointing towards some sort of motherboard failure, but am hoping that there is a wizard in the forums that may be able to wave a magic wand.  I have already pushed the static discharge button around 101 times.

Just picked up a new Thinkpad Yoga. Definitely thrilled by the specifications, it seems to be the perfect laptop for me combining dedicated graphics, 2 in 1 capability, and most importantly, a wacom pen. However, upon getting it home, I find the pen doesn't work whatsoever. Curious, I went back to Best Buy and tried the pen on the display model. That one doesn't work either.Do these have some sort of widespread issue with the digitizer pens not working? Is there any known fix for this?

I just purchased this laptop, I like it alot.   Using the HDMI port and the mini-display port, can I have 3 displays?   The internal touch screen, and then also the moniitor on the HDMI port AND a different monitor on the mini-display port.   That would be 3 displays. I'm just getting into Microsoft Flight Simulator and it will support 3 videos and I want to have all 3 running to get the most from the application. I want to be sure that it isn't either/or on the HDMI and Mini-Display Port, but that I can use both/and. Thanks in advance. Paul

So my co-worked managed to knock my laptop off my desk and it was damaged, ugh... It still functions, but has the following issues:- There's a noticable blemish on the LCD screen and it will need to be replaced- The case is cracked on the right side around a USB port- The case is cracked on the left side around the power connector, and the connector itself is bent Looks like the screen alone runs $400 on Lenovo parts site, and I don't even see case parts listed. I'd prefer to replace the parts myself, but would also be willing to go to a reapair center if I had to. I'm leaning towards replacement instead of repair, but was wondering what others more experienced in laptop repairs thought. Thanks.

A:Repair or Replace? Yoga 14 Type 20FY ThinkPad

I fix machines, so my first impression is always to fix, but you have at least 3 damaged parts (jack, panel and case).  If the jack is damaged, there may be an issue with nearby parts.  I cannot be  sure without seeing it, but my guess is that you would be better off selling the broken one on eBay and buying a different one.

I am running the latest drivers from Lenovo's website and I have noticed that after a while (possibly after putting my computer to sleep and waking it up again), the ETD Control Center (which must be running in order to have full touchpad functionality) will constantly use ~30% CPU. This obviously impacts battery life, but it also makes my laptop produce more heat and noise than it would otherwise, while running slower. It is undesirable behavior. I have already tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them, running the older version, or running the newer version. Nothing helps. Whenever this software is running, it does not take long before it is thrashing my CPU. Currently I am running the latest version of the software that is available on Lenovo's website, and I have updated everything possible using Lenovo's update software. I am running windows 10 and have the Elan touchpad drivers installed. [screenshot below]ETD Control Center ~30% Constant CPU use Has anyone else had this problem with the elan touchpad/windows 10 combination? If so, what is the resolution? Thanks for your help!

The screen of my Yoga 14 ThinkPad Type 20FY touchscreen has cracked. I have a few questions on how to replace the screen.

Serial Number: XXXXXXXX                               Mod edit:  Serial number removed per forum rules
Machine Type Model: 20FY0002US

1. Can I replace the touchscreen with a non-touch screen? It looks like touchscreens are delicate and expensive. I didn't want a touchscreen but Best Buy did not have that in their store.
2. What is the part number for the screen? I need it to purchase online. Online forums suggest opening the screen to see the part number. Is there a way to see part number using model, and machine type (posted above)? I need part number of non-touch screen, if that will work with the laptop.
3. What is the cheapest and reliable place to buy a replacement screen? I plan to replace it myself.

I would be appreciative of your help.

Hello, I am freaking out as I am typing this right now at 2 am as a couple of my key caps in the lower right hand corner just fell off the keyboard for no apparent reason. I tried putting them back on but the clips on the underside of the key caps seem to be broken. Is this covered under warranty? If so, will Lenovo send me a new keyboard or will I have to send the machine in? I really hope that Lenovo can send me one as I really need my machine and I am capable of replacing the keyboard on my own as I have serviced multiple ThinkPads in the past. Thanks in advance! Edit:I should mention that my warranty is good until January 12.

I picked up a Skylake yoga 14 (model # 20FY0002US) and I'm not getting anything from the DVI or HDMI outputs on a mini-DP to HDMI/DP/DVI adapter. This is the particular adapter I tried:http://www.amazon.com/DisplayPort-Thunderbolt-HDMI%C2%AE-Passive-Adapter/dp/B013Z71ZI0/ref=sr_1_9?ie... To be clear, the adapter offers DVI, HDMI, and DP outputs, only one of which works at a time. I'm not trying to plug three monitors into it. However, if I hook up a monitor via either the DVI or the HDMI outputs, the computer freezes for 15-60 seconds and nothing shows up on the external monitor. Drivers are all updated. I've tried the adapter on a Surface Pro 3 and it worked flawlessly. I've also tried it with multiple external monitors, so the problem is definitely with my ThinkPad. I've also tried DP1.1 and DP 1.2 versions of the adapter. Again, nothing out of the DVI or HDMI outputs.  Oddly enough, when I tried a simple mini-DP to VGA adapter, it worked.  What gives? This is a pretty important functionality to be missing...

A:Skylake ThinkPad Yoga 14 (20FY) mini displayport ...

I've tried two miniDP to DVI cables which neither worked.  I just bought an Apple miniDP to VGA adapter and that doesn't work either.  I've tested the monitors and they are good.  I'm assuming the cables are not the issue since I tried three.  I just read on another post that it is a design limitation that miniDP to HDMI or DVI do not work with this laptop.  I don't understand that.  However, it says that miniDP to VGA should work.  It clearly works for you.  Did you do anything other than plug the adapter in?

Part number 00JT241 - where can I order them? Two of the rubber feet from my Yoga S3 14 have repeatedly fallen off, this time they are lost. For some reason I expect a business laptop to be built for standard use, such little problems make for big annoyance. I need replacements, have a part number, but can't find a source - and I don't expect to buy a housing for my laptop to replace tiny rubber parts because Lenovo used an inadequate glue. I've had terrible experience with Lenovo customer service, especially in connection with a laptop I bought for my daughter, which was held in service for 5 WEEKS!!! and returned with no repair other than a reformatted hard drive. I had to get very loud in order to get the machine back at all. This is unacceptable, and can only make good business customers look for other manufacturers. Lenovo, are you listening?

Hi, I am join the Lenovo forums to seek assitance with an issue with my Thinkpad Yoga 14. I recently purchased the notenook from Best Buy and it has been great.  But there's an intermitten issue with the screen going black. My theory was that the ambient light sensor is what tells the laptop it's closed, and it was getting obscured, causing my screen to turn off. This issue occurs when I am using it in tablet mode and during the process of the folding the screen back. The screen is fine in laptop mode, unless I adjust the angle of the screen.  So it seems every time I place my hand on the screen to draw, or fold the hinge, the screen will turn black. I have taken the following steps:-Updated Windows and all my Lenovo Apps.-Changing power options to 'Do Nothing' when lid closes.  Does anyone else have this issue? I am hoping this is not a hardware issue   Thanks everyone.

The rubber foot on my P51 battery is a few millimeters longer than the rubber foot on its right so the laptop wobbles when placed on a perfectly flat and even surface. I've had very bad experiences with Lenovo warranty services, I sent a ticket through the online system and I expect it to be ignored or cancelled because that's what they did with my previous tickets, and then I'll probably have to call, and then they'll probably direct me to premium services which will make me pay for a non-solution to my problem that I end up solving myself by paying for replacement parts that are supposed to be covered by my warranty, so I thought I'd post here so I can just know what the solution is directly and pay for it even though I shouldn't need to. Anyways, does any one else have this issue? And how can it be fixed?

Hello,

I recently got some work done on my laptop as my charging port was damage. There was also some cosmetic damage to the side my laptop. (I didn't know that was covered under warranty, so I was impressed)

Anyway in order to access the casing they must have removed one of the rubber feet to access the screws. When I got it back from the HP Repair centre, one of the rubber feet kept coming off and I kept sticking it back on but it just wasn't for staying.

So today its came off somewhere and I cannot find it, I've been on the move a lot today so I wouldn't really know where to find it, for all I know its dropped and stuck onto something else and because its not something you generally notice unless you look I never noticed until now.

Anyway I read in this thread: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Hardware-Upgrades-Replacements/Missing-Rubber-feet-on-my-laptop/td-p/41... that you can get them from the HP Parts store, so I went there and entered my product number and No Results. I enter my Serial Number and No Results. I enter my product name and...you guessed it - No Results.

Serial number: [Personal Information Removed]
Product number: K6C60EA#ABU

If anyone could give me any advice on getting replacement feet I'd greatly appreciate it.

Is there a knack to popping them back or should I get the superglue out ?

Hello everyone! I recently purchased a laptop but it was barely usable out of the box. Not sure if the HDD was bad or if it was preloaded with too much stuff. Audio was lagging, file explorer would hang on quick access view, overall slow response to clicking, typing pretty much anything. So I decided to install a SSD. Followed the instructions and all of my problems went away. Due to questionable design I had to remove two rubber feet in the process. Now they simply look tampered with and one won't stay on securely. I wanted to buy the replacement part 856796-001 only to find out HP wants $54 before any shipping fees (if any I haven't bothered to check after I saw the price). Seems way too much for four tiny pieces of rubber. Do you guys know of any other sellers? I mean all of this seems like a bad deal to me. I am even considering returing this laptop. Thanks.

So I bought my IdeaPad Flex 15 last summer. One of the rubber back feet came off, and I can't find it. Ergo, of course, I"d like to buy a replacement. I chatted with Lenovo and they could not find one. I did find a thread earlier that asked this (not sure of front or back rubber feet) and they did not get a response. I have read on this board that other models have some kind of parts kit that costs $54 and includes two feet. While I'd much prefer to buy just the feet, I can see how Lenovo can consider this to not be economical. Ergo, I'll pay for such a kit if I am sure that it works for my laptop. HELP! Any pointers here are much appreciated! And I do realize how important these feet are: without them there is no air circulation to the vents on the bottom. Methinks my laptop is better off not overheating, though YMMV.
