I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Cannot get the display connect to the laptop through the included USB-C cable. Tried using both available ports, and through a docking. Windows detects that something is connect, but says ?Display connection might be limited?. The display doesn't appear in device manager, only the USB hub on the display.  Laptop is updated with latest windows. Also tried updating the thunderbolt 3 firmware. DisplayPort through DP cable on dock works fine.

Hi All Recently our company purchase a bulk of x1-carbon and P27h-10 monitors. However we are expericing issues when we try to connect the laptop back to the monitor after some time. It does not wake up from the power saving mode. Even restarting the laptop does not solve this issue. We need to keep restarting multiple times and by chances it will be detected. This happens only with the x1-carbon laptops and we have no issues with other brand laptops like Dell. Just to note we have already update the firmware and drivers for the x1-carbon. The Lenovo on-site engineer have also replcace out display ports and motherboard of the notebook but the problem still exist till date.

We bought Lenovo P27h USB-c screens to go with our Thinkpad P1 laptops so that we could use the monitor as a simple dock providing (slow) charging and a USB hub as well as the display. Unfortunately I haven't been able to make the charging work at all. When I connect the USB-c cable the charging icon flickers on but immediately off again. Has anybody had any success making this combination work? Thanks!, Geoff

The P1 simply requires a bigger charger.  The maximum that can be delivered over the USB-C spec is 100W

I have multiple offices that i work from. My ideal setup is to work from a desk with a large monitor, keyboard, speakers and printer but carry my laptop from location to location. I chose the P27h monitor because it has USB-C connectivity. My understanding when I purchased this monitor and computer setup was that I could place my closed computer in a vertical stand, connected to power and usb-c to the monitor, and use the monitor as a hub to run a few other peripherals. At most, this is a wireless mouse and keyboard (logi), a set of powered desktop speakers, and in some cases a printer. Essentially, I thought I had a dock and monitor all in one.  I seem to have issues at start up, and intermittent freezing/latency issues during usage. At startup, if the monitor has been left on it has issues connecting the video. In other words, my peripherals will work, but even with the laptop open sometimes I can't extend my monitor. I have the proper power settings (i believe) to close my laptop and continue to run. This works on one of my monitors but not on the other. Depending on which monitor I'm plugging into, I get different results as to whether the video works and how i get it to work. Once working, it functions well but there are freezing issues that I don't think are a function of the computer.  Am I asking too much of the P27H monitor? Should i not have considered this a docking station? Any settings I should double check/procedures to follow to m... Read more

Hello everyone, one of my company's X380 barely wants to connect to the P27h displays. When connected, the computer charges through the screen, but display output won't work. The weird thing: A couple days ago it used to work almost perfectly, there was no updates in between, it just stopped working. Here's what I tried:Trying different screens: Yes, the problems consists between screens, it seems to be a computer-related problemTrying different cables: Trying brand new cables does now show any differnceDownload and install the latest Thunderbold-Driver: This did not change anythingI am running Windows 10 Version 1803, therefore the BIOS Setting for making Thunderbold availble for Windows 10 1709 or earlier does not do the trickIn Device-Manager when the screen is connected, it does not show up as a Display, just the USB-Hub shows up.Does anybody have experience with this kind of problem? It seems to me that it is software-related rather than a defective interface (since it keeps charging and detecting USB-Ports)Thanks for your help in advance, Béla

I'm new to the forum, and i have a major problem with my monitor. I have seen several others who couldn't force their screen to go past 60 or 75hz, and i have the same problem.

Some people said that if you found the display driver, you could fix this problem, but my problem is that i simply can't.

Since i cannot find my display driver i ask ALL OF YOU to help me!

CAN I FIX THIS IS ANOTHER WAY?

Hi I read here that T470s supports 3 independent displays.I want to have my 3 Think Vision monitors to be these 3 independent displays (preferrably all connected to the dock station) and the first of them mirroring (duplicating) the buid in Laptop monitor. I tried several things without sucess: I can for example have two monitors connected to the Dock via DP and have 3 independent displays. I can connect the other monitor to the docking station via VGA, but obvioulsy I cannot have 4 independent displays. When I try to mirror (duplicate) the internal monitor with one of the external monitors  I get the odd message :"Unable to save display settings.". During trials with different settings one time the third monitor also just showed a very low resolution and could not be changed... Another time I also created a few freezes when I pressed the apply button and not even the mouse moved and I had to turn the computer off and on again...Before I now spend any money on a bunch of cables and try all combinations and then find out it is impossible or a sofware issue (read that sometimes such an error could be related to old saved monitor configurations and a manual deleting of registry keys would be needed...). Could someone please tell me if/how this is doable at all and how to connect the third external since there are just 2 DP ports at the dock. Thanks.

Hi, I noticed that my X1 Yoga 2nd Gen + Thinkvision X1 Monitor (usb-c) no longer is able to turn off the monitor to safe power. What happens is: 1) When the computer tries to turn off the monitor, it seems to also trigger something (perhaps a disconnect of the usb accessories?)2) Which then triggers the computer to recognize something is up3) Which then wakes the computer up4) This cycle continues over an over again This cycle also prevents any sleep or hibernation since the computer seems to think something is always happening.  Am I the only on experiencing this issue? Is there a fix? Thanks for all the help.  Thanks, David

Yesterday (June 15), I had a major Windows 10 update on my W510 ThinkPad. Now my external monitor (a ThinkVision L2440P) isn't correctly identified as a device, and the result seems to be that the fonts overall are grotty--much less crisp than they were prior to the update. The driver is NVIDIA Quadro FX 880M, and this has been successfully updated. Right now, both the integrated laptop monitor and the external monitor are identified in the Device Manager as "LCD 1920x1080". Does anyone have a suggestion for how to get back to the crisp fonts I had before this update?  Many thanks!

I just recently connected dual TV P24 IPS monitors to my X1 Yoga (2nd Gen). The monitors are capable of displaying 2560x1440 rez. I have them both connected to the USB-C dock via display port.  One of the monitors displays fine, but the other won't display more than  1920x1080 and even then it continuously flickers. I've tried updating drivers, changing cables, etc.  Is the X1 Yoga not capable of outputting that resolution to both displays at the same time?

Might be helpful for people to know, but I have been struggling for days with a flickering thinkvision p24h usb c monitor connected to my lenovo x1 carbon 5th generation. Flickers, sometimes goes into power saving mode even when it should be active. I updated all sort of graphics drivers with no success.  Finally, i deleted the thunderbolt 15d2 driver and it fixed the monitor problem. Then lenovo system update reinstalled the driver and the problem resumed. Flickering, power save mode resumed sometimes (thinking the monitor was not receiving a signal), unstable screen as well. And upon removal of the driver again, and disabling installation of recommended updates, the problem is fixed. Frustrated that an update caused this issue, and relieved it has now been fixed. Just wanted to share the solution, or help make lenovo aware. I do believe it is a windows 1903 issues related to the thunderbolt 15d2 driver.

Hello, I am not really sure if this is an X280, a CS18 (Pro) or a ThinkVision T24v-10 issue, maybe all of them - I post in this cateory anyway. When docked to the side dock which is connected to a ThinkVision T24v-10 (Display Port and USB 3 - yes, definitely a USB 3 port), the T24v's camera and microphone are extremly stuttering being effectively unusable for skype or any other form of VoIP. When the USB cable from the monitor gets connected directly to the still docked X280 (i7-8650, 16GB, [email protected]) using the right hand side USB port of the computer, it works without problems. But this obviously is not the idea of how to use a dock... Is this a well-known issue? Google didn't seem to know about this. Any dock-firmware or upcoming driver updates addressing this issue? Can't imagine that ThinkVision's "optimized for VoIP" camera shouldn't work properly while being connected to a dock. What did I miss?  Regards,Logan P.S.  Using stock Windows 10 installation plus additionally installed T24v-10 drivers.

Usually indicates that the monitor is not receiving any video from the computer.

If you have a graphics card in the PCI slots, with the default settings a new computer has, the monitor must be connected to a port on the graphics card -- the ports on the motherboard amongst the other ports on the rear panel are disabled.  Lenovo graphics cards for ThinkCentres often have two DisplayPorts (DP), the sole VGA port is on the motherboard.

Good morning, Over the past 5-6 months, we have been updating machines to the newer T480, T580, and P52s, with the new style UltraDock (40AH0135US).  As these docks only have display ports, we have been utilizing VGA and DVI adapters to send video out to monitors. Many of the users are experiencing issues where their video, for the laptop and external screens, will blink, or just black out momentarily.  We have been in contact with both Lenovo, and our vendor's support for options.  We have tried* Letting Lenovo replace the docks    * Same issue occurs* Different display to VGA/DVI out adapters    * Same issue occurs* Running a display port cable to the monitor, if available    * Same issue occurs* Tried a different dock (40AJ0135US) that does have a VGA out onboard    * The machine seemed to run well for about a week, then the issue began to occur againWe have been monitoring the logs, and have found a common entry in at least 3 of the machines* In the system logs, we found 2 Informational messages:    * Event ID - 20003 Microsoft-Windows-UserPnP       Driver Management has concluded the process to add Service igfx for Device Instance       ID PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_5917&SUBSYS_225A17AA&REV_07\3&11583659&0&10 with the following status: 0.    * Event ID - 20001 Microsoft-Windows-UserPnP       Driver M... Hi,Recently bought a T480 with the 150MX Nvidia card. The laptop works great during normal operation during work etc but when I get home and want to play some games, nothing is working as it should. What happens is this:When I start the game everything is running good but after a few minutes I can see my CPU start to lower it's power limit (PL1) slowly towards 5W. It will stop at 5W never gaining any wattage back until i restart computer. The PL1 is at 15W when computer is newly booted. I have tried to uninstall the Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework, this results in that the processor is fixed at 15W but after a while the iGPU will go crazy and goes to 100% leaving the CPU at 2W = 0.2Ghz. And I have to restart. So this is not a valid solution. All my power settings are on maximum performance ofc.I have tried almost everything I can think of and been browsing all kind of reddit threads without any long term solution.

Hello all, Just received my sixth thinkpad in the last 23 years. It arrived yesterday.  It is a: T480, I7-8550U, 16GB(8+8), 512 M.2 SSD, iGPU, Win10 Pro The fan is really annoying.  It goes on and off constantly.  It seems to ramp up to full speed.  I have been reading about fan noise with this model all over the internet.  Is there a way for it to run constantly at a lower speed than the constant on and off?  My previous model was a T430 never had issues with fan noise (it was very quiet too when it ran). Currently running a test:  Not using the laptop at all.  Opened 1 tab on Chrome and have it sitting on cnn.com.  Also, opened one tab on Edge also on cnn.com.  Task manager open.  Chrome uses less CPU but more memory than Edge.  CPU is running between 15% and 20%.  Fan turns on every minute or so for about 20 to 30 seconds then goes off. It is loud and annoying going on and off.  Why can't it just be a constant lower speed?  On and off is ridiculous.  If this keeps up this machine is going back. Thanks for any replies and suggestions.
