Need to change keyboard from azerty to qwerty.

Q: Need to change keyboard from azerty to qwerty.

Hi,
I ordered a Dell Inspiron 13 7000 series laptop. I live in Belgium so the keyboard is AZERTY. Despite repeated requests to QWERTY keyboard, Dell refused to change it saying AZERTY is standard and cannot be customized. ANyway, so can I just pop out the keys and replace them physically? I know i can put stickers, but thats a last resort.

Preferred Solution: Need to change keyboard from azerty to qwerty.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

if you can get the keys off without causing any damage, please be careful. Some keys are not the same at all. The alphabetic ones can be changed.

First sorry I don't speak well English.
I have a problem with my PC model: http://www.toshiba.fr/discontinued-p...ite-c55-a-15e/
The keyboard doesn't work and I want to change it.

I have two questions:

1- I searched but did not find where I can buy the keyboard.

2- There is not a French Azerty on my PC. Maybe belgium Azerty or other??? I don't know.
Is it possible to change the version of the keyboard.

Hi, I recently purchased a Pavilion 15-bc203nd. This notebook has a AZERTY keyboard. This keyboard however has a strange/wrong layout compared to a normal azerty key board: a right CTL key is missing, the < key is on the wrong place, my return key is too small etc. See this picture as comparison:   Is it possible to get a notebook with a correct AZERTY keyboard, or is this just the way it is with HP notebooks and should I return it? Kind regards.

Brandnew HP Envy x360 with Belgian azerty keyboard The key 2 positions right to the spacebar, marked as <>\ does not generate those values, but generates the code for the CTRL key instead. This can not be a virus or other issue, as this is a "just out of the box" fresh system. I really suspect a "Bug" here in the testing of the azerty layout for this particular model The keyboard driver layout is the standard one provided with the OS by microsoft, called "Belgian Azerty decimal point"The operatings system is on the latest patch levelThe HP drivers are on the latest patch level I guess this must be declared as "a problem" and not an "incident" Cheers,Stefan

Hi. . .

I would suggest that you go into Device Manager and un-install all of the drivers related to the keyboard. Vista will re-install them upon re-boot.

START | type dev into the start search box - select Device manager uptop.

Expand the keyboard tree and un-install the drivers 1-by-1 until they are gone. Then re-boot.

Good Luck to you. . .

Although there are two languages and several keyboard layouts in Belgium you would probably have a French Belgian keyboard.

Control panel > regional and language > keyboards and languages > general > installed services > add > and select either Belgian Comma or Belgium French as matches your keyboard.

Then remove the prior inappropriate entry(ies) and OK your way out.

I am looking at buying the 15-bn070wm laptop that walmart carries with the realtree design. The laptop does not come with a backlit keyboard and I was curious if there is a way that I could purchase a ugraded backlit keyboard and install it I know some models have the backlight connector under the keyboard but they just do not come with them installed? If so what model keyboard should I purchase and would the laptop follow the HP pavilion 15 series disassembly steps?

A:X0S19UA-Change keyboard to backlit keyboard

Hi, It is much better and cheaper to buy this option now because backlit keyboard alone won't work, you need a motherboard which have ports for you to connect those lights. Buy this option now may cost you say $50, replace it later may cost you ten times or more and in many cases not-workable. Regards.

I'm interested in learning Dvorak and I'm wondering if it's possible to be a fast typist at both Dvorak and qwerty. Totally dependent on your own level of skill and adapability.

It will vary between individuals to such a large degree, there is no way we could make any reasonable attempt to assist you.

The only clue is, that you have to ask does suggest a lack of confidence and perhaps a lower chance of success, but thats an outside view.

I'm using Office 2008 on my MacBook, and I use the Dvorak keyboard layout.

A couple of days ago, Word decided that only the left half of my keyboard was Dvorak, at least for shortcuts. This means that if I want bold text (Cmd + B, which is Cmd + N on a QWERTY keyboard), it opens a new document.

It works fine if I switch to Dvorak + QWERTY commands, but this doesn't work in all applications, and is quite frustrating.

I've tried deleting Normal.dotm, but it doesn't seem to have helped.

Any ideas?

Today while typing in notepad, the keyboard suddenly switched from Dvorak keyboard layout to Qwerty. Yesterday Opera did it. Before Opera did it, Open Office did it. When I close the offending program Dvorak is restored.

I am NOT using the language bar and do not have qwerty set as a default layout, Only dvorak.

Is anybody else having this problem and/or know how to prevent it?

A:win 7 64bit RC randomly switches from Dvorak to Qwerty

Try using ctrl-shift. If that causes your keyboard to switch that might be your culprit, not capricious randomness.

I use Qwerty and Dvorak key layouts and this switches between them. Tried to configure with the Regionalization control panel and that doesn't seem to remap this keystroke. It's definitely inconvenient for spreadsheet users.

A:keyboard change

You can buy PS2 - USB adaptors for keyboards and mice. However sometimes they seem to be proprietary by manufacturer. I have inthe past had problems with the adapters manufactured by Logitec while trying to use them on other brands of keyboards and mice. As for changing the plug (and keyboard cord) itself youwould be better off buying a new inexpensive usb keyboard for between $15 and $20 US.

I have an older keyboard w/o a Windows key. I read somewhere once on how to convert one of the extra ALT keys to serve as a Window key.

Anyone know the answer?

A:Keyboard change

Well, CTRL-ESC is the same thing as the Windows key. That's what I use on keyboards that don't have it.

I suppose you could try doing a keyboard mapping and making one of the ALT keys into a CTRL-ESC macro... I'm not sure how well that would work though.

Long story short, I'm updating my system so I can begin using it again since its been lying dormant for sometime now. Most are things like a newer and bigger case, new GTX 580, CD-Rom Drive, etc...

I was waiting to buy a keyboard, mouse, and screen but NewEgg has 15% off on them right now so I figured I might as well take advantage of it. I was going to take a look at BestBuy today and see what they had and the prices but I was wondering what every else would suggest.

My last keyboard was a Microsoft Media 3000, really handy with programmable buttons above F1-F12. The mouse I sold but it was a Logitech G5, I like the two buttons on the side I could use my thumb with to go forward or back on web pages.

I would be using this for gaming, graphic design, and other random stuff. So I was just wondering what everyone would suggest?

I've always been with wired but I've wanted to give wireless a try, I keep getting told not to but I don't know the implications.

Here's what I've found appealing (based on reviews):

Mouse:
Logitech G700 Black 13 Buttons 1 x Wheel USB RF Wireless Gaming Mouse

Keyboard:
Logitech 920-000914 Black 106 Normal Keys USB Wired Ultra-thin Illuminated Keyboard

Logitech K800 Black USB RF Wireless Slim Illuminated Keyboard

As always, thanks in advance!

I'm preferential to mechanical keyboards...being they often make more noise and are clicky clackey. From a pure typing standpoint, the tactile feel and the clicks provide a much better typing experience for me. Unfortunately, you won't find these in retail stores to play around with...and unfortunately they get a little pricey. And they usually are no frills...meaning that you won't have extra keys or media controls.

I've also been very happy in the past with my Microsoft Ergonomic 4000 keyboards. However, I lost interest in them because they take up far too much space on my desktop. Now, I prefer a much smaller and compact keyboard.

No wireless keyboards and mice for me. I cannot be bothered changing out batteries...plus I don't find that the wires really get in the way of anything since I don't move the keyboard and stuff around much.

Hi. I have an Asus X44 laptop which I bought in Bangkok when I was living and working in Thailand a year or so ago. I then moved to Greece for a year - and managed to find some stickers to put over the keys with Greek alphabet (as I needed to write stuff in Greek).

Now I have just got back to the UK and want to change one key function - change the $ (which I hardly ever need) to ₤ sterling (which I do). I do not want to change to a different keyboard configuration using the MS language options, because that will change other keys too - the @ and the " swap round for instance.

I have been Googling this and should be able to edit the registry, without downloading 3rd. party software, but haven't found out how to do this. Anyone able to help? (Or maybe I should just buy a UK keyboard now??!).

Thanks.

It's Control Panel>Region and Language>Keyboards and Languages>Change Keyboards>Add>French

   Tip
Using the US-International keyboard layout, you can input many oft-used characters easily. Type Alt-E for ?, for example, Alt-N for ? or Alt-Q for ?. Alt-5 inputs the € sign.

Hey Hey, can anyone tell me if its possible to change the generic Vista keyboards shortcuts?

I'm having problems playing games (WOW in particular) where I hit Alt F4 or Alt TAB and it takes me out of the game, quite frustrating! I know it will most likely be easier to change in game setup but im hoping to be able to disable the Vista shortcuts or at least disable them for this program etc

Thanks Heaps!
