Huawei mobile wi-fi thinks its Orange wi-fi!

Q: Huawei mobile wi-fi thinks its Orange wi-fi!

hallo,

question is in three parts. Win 7 Home Premium

1. used to have orange mobile broadband wi-fi but was not a good deal so i stopped it. The software stayed on my laptop.

I now signed up for Huawei mobile connect - 3G. On connecting dongle to laptop's USB, nothing happened( I was expecting an 'installing Huawei' window, etc). The dongle works as i can connect to the internet but on looking into it, the dongle connects via the previous Orange software - see two .jpg files. What does this mean? It is inconvenient as i cannot see how much up/download i have used, there does not a[ppear to be any Huawei software to give me any information. should i remove the Orange via Add/Remove Programs and start again with the Huawei dongle?

2. On looking at the security tab in Properties for Orange, am not happy with the CHAP and MS-CHAPv2. see jpg. Can i uncheck them without losing connectivity performance?

3. Still in Properties, Networking tab, dont like the file and printer sharing and client for Ms networks boxes either, just want the TCP/IP version4 box ticked.see jpg.Would i be right in having just IP4 checked?
As you can gather i dont have much of a clue about what is going on.

Ideas appreciated.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

hi
have problem with vodafone e272 modem drivers on win7 64bit build 7000. Tried vista64bit drivers but don't work.

A:Huawei Mobile connect drivers

Memento,

I use a Huawei E169 via 3 and initially it would not install. I ended up allowing the software to install from the key drive, then rebooting and allowing it to install the software again.

If I recall from installing it on Win XP, it installs the drivers, asks you to reboot then installs the software to use it.

Hi all,

Recently i purchaced a mobile broadband dongle from 3 on pay as you go. i installed it on my computer and everything worked fine, i then uninstalled the software from the laptop when i stopped using the modem. Now i am wanting to use the modem again when it starts to install it comes up with an error message saying ' The application has a pending system reboot. Please reboot and restart the installer.'

I have restarted the system on many occasions when it has said this but it wont get rid of the message and wont let the installation continue. I have spoken to 3 about the problem and they have said that i will need to edit the part in the registry that is telling the computer that this software requires a reeboot and then to try installing it again.

They are not allowed to tell me what part of the registry i need to edit because people have been changing the wrong things and damaging their computers. Does anybody know what part of the registry i need to edit to allow the installer to continue?

The details of the modem are:
Huawei Mobile Broadband
Model: E156G
HSDPA USB Stick

All advice will be great

Thanks

Hi all

FYI:
Huawei e156g Mobile Broadband USB Stick
HP Pavilion dv7 2070ea
Windows 7 Professional 64bit

The laptop came preinstalled with Vista Home 64bit and i was able to use the mobile broadband without any issues.

I have installed Windows 7 Pro 64 in a dual boot config and it runs fine on wired or wireless connections, but when i try to use the mobile broadband i run into issues.

After the modem driver and software install and a few restarts I was able to get all the devices in the device manager to be happy, and i was able to connect via the 3 Connect software and access the internet. But after a few minutes Windows will inevitably lock up, regardless of what program is being used. The screen will freeze, there will be zero harddrive activity and the only course of action is to hold down the power button

The mobile broadbands company site says that the vista drivers should be happy on windows 7, but something isnt happy.

I really need to resolve this as my mobile broadband allows me to connect to various servers for work via its allowed IP address.

Is this the modem, the USB bus or something else?

I have checked the event log and there isnt anything useful in there.

Many thanks

Stephen

Hello everyone,

I use Huawei K3765 USB Dongle. I have unlocked it so that I can use other SIM cards with it. I also had to install Mobile Partner for it. But now I am getting an error in Mobile Partner saying, "the device has been disconnected or is unavailable".

I can still connect to the internet through dial-up but to use 3G services I need Mobile Partner. Now here is a link where a solution is posted.

http://www.frightanic.com/2009/06/16...s-unavailable/

I would like to know whether uninstalling every driver under 'Universal Serial Bus Controllers' is safe or not.

Any sort of help will be appreciated.
Thanks.

Regards,
Abhishek Sharma

A:Huawei K3765 issues with Mobile Partner (Uninstalling drivers)

And when connected to the internet via dial-up, Mobile Partner identifies my device. But before connecting to the internet, my device is not detected.
Mobile Partner cannot connect to the internet, but when connected via dial-up, I can disconnect via Mobile Partner.
Mobile Partner cannot read my data card ie signal strength is 0%, but it still shows the upload and download speeds when connected to the internet. It also shows the statistics, data downloaded, data uploaded, time spent online, etc. but I just cannot connect through Mobile Partner. I need to connect through Mobile Partner because only then will I be able to connect to a 3G network.

In short, mobile partner doesn't works when disconnected from the internet. Only once I connect to the internet via dial-up, mobile partner can be used.
Any help?

I run Windows 7 64bit os with an Orange high Speed (!) mobile broadband dongle (515m).
The software (Internet Everywhere) stopped working months ago and after much arguing with Orange, they admitted that it was a software compatibility problem with my os but promised that an update would be coming soon. They gave a workaround which meant the dongle worked on dial up (with associated speed).
However, after waiting months for the update, it's finally arrived but it still doesn't work!
Just like the last software version, after installing it clean, it crashes at start up and won't operate.
Last night I had to stay up hours to roll back my system to get the dial up working again as it prevented that from working too.
I'm really sick of this and Orange's response has been woefully unsatisfactory, bordering on insulting. The latest gem was to uninstall everything internet connected then download the software! How? This has been pretty much the level of response from Orange. I'm about ready to cancel my contract with them for breach of contract.
Any ideas anyone?

Oh, my laptop is an Acer Aspire 7540.

A:Orange Mobile Broadband 515m Dongle not working with Windows 7

Hi, not sure if this is what you meant by the workaround, but I had the same problem and solved it by manually configuring a dial-up connection with windows using the number *99#
The software started crashing whenever I started it and, much like Orange have now pointed out, I suspected it was some sort of conflict with Windows 7. Initially the only way I had to get round it was constant system restores whenever the problem started, but that wasn't practical. The manual dial-up seems the best way I have found so far. The speed and service using it this way appears to be the same if not better than when using it with the software.

Hi,

Sometimes when I plug in my laptop to the mains the charging light goes to orange to signify it's charging the battery. After a period of time it goes off, and starts flashing like this:
http://ompldr.org/vYTkzZQ/IMG_0122.JPG
http://ompldr.org/vYTkzZg/IMG_0121.JPG
This is whilst it's turned off. When it's turned on the power button light starts flashing orange and a darker orange.

It seems to happen sporadically. One day it'll be fine, the next it won't.
I've put a voltmeter on the charger plug and that reads 18.5volt whilst plugged to the mains. When I plug the charger in and place the voltmeter on the negative and ground connectors for the battery it reads 0.8volts.
The battery works, I've recently replaced it because the old one died. I've also checked that when fully charged with the voltmeter and that works as specified in the user manual (found at http://www.2shared.com/file/3900367/f777f80e/SG_AS7720_7720G_BOOK.html?s=1)
Whilst it is like this the battery does not charge and the computer runs as if it were on battery power, not plugged in, whilst the lights flash. When I remove the plug it stops flashing and the left light shows a solid green, as does the power button light.

Does anyone know what these lights are supposed to indicate? It makes no mention of it in the guide.
Thank you for your time,
Regards,
Blaggard

I have had 3 different people now tell me conflicting things about wiring cat 5 2 of which are qualified networking people, (I'm not, I'm just dabbliung and trying to sort out my home)

When wiring up a patch cable, 1 person said it has to be in the following order due to the green and greenwhite white being transmit wires or something..?
OrangeWhite
Orange
GreenWhite
Blue
BlueWhite
Green
BrownWhite
Brown
(not sure about the order of then greens and blues but it was roughly that)

The other person said he does it like this purely for convention, and the 2nd netwoking guy said it doesnt matter as long as they are the same at either end. and for crossover you just reverse the sequence.
I'd be enclined to o with the it doesnt matter which order, as they are only wires the colour of a wire doesnt meen jack surely. its just to help you get the order correct... no? its like people who say you shouldnt do 123456 in the lotto as thatll never come up... well newsflash its statistically the same as getting 6 randomly ordered numbers.

Anyways. i was interested to know what the consensus is?

People with knowledge of the matter have hinted that Windows 10 Mobile could launch as soon as today, and now there?s more evidence that this is indeed very likely to happen.

The latest confirmation comes from T-Mobile Croatia, one of the carriers that are gearing up for the release of Windows 10 Mobile. It thus confirms that Microsoft is indeed very close to giving the go-ahead to the operating system for a number of devices.

This is actually the most important bit of information, as not all Windows Phone models would get Windows 10 Mobile as part of the original wave. The plan is to bring the new OS on absolutely all handsets running Windows Phone, but for the moment, the staged rollout will include only a handful of models.

Models getting the upgrade in the first wave
T-Mobile Croatia says the following models will be upgraded to Windows 10 Mobile in the original rollout that kicks off today:

Lumia 435 single- and dual-SIM
Lumia 535 single- and dual-SIM
Lumia 635 1GB
Lumia 640
Lumia 640XL
Lumia 735
Lumia 830
Lumia 930
Lumia 1520

Microsoft has also provided its very own list of devices that?ll be upgraded to Windows 10 Mobile as part of this first wave, and the big difference is that Lumia 1520 is included in T-Mobile?s version whereas the flagship is nowhere to be found in Microsoft?s.

The super-popular Lumia 520 doesn?t seem to be mentioned in either of the lists, so it?s pretty clear that this model will be left behind at first. A second wave, however, ... Read more

Thanks for any replys!

A:Mobile Internet using mobile phone

a serial data cable can't connect to the internet.
First of all you need a data capable phone which I don't think the 5110 can.

You need a 6210 or 7110 etc more info on nokia website

Even with data phone I've never heard of a suitable cable but you can connect using infrared adapter - you need infrared capability on phone too. I guess it would be dead slow too.

if you want to connect to internet on laptop but a nokia card phone. You put it in you PCMCIA slot after putting your SIM into it and it acts like your phone. It's fast and reliable but about 150 GBP

I have a sbs small business server with exchange, i set all that up but i then got a treo 700w that says it can hook into my outlook web access. I have worked on it for two days straight and now am hung up i think on the last spot.

First. My icw.exe is not found, i want to install a self issued certificate so i don't have to buy one. but i think my domain is called watson.local instead of my domain name i have dns to my ip. When i installed a trial certificate from verisign it said my certificate was invalid. I know i have to transfer the certificate to the smartphone but should i have my domain instead of the defaul.local setup as my actual web dns domain name?

Has anyone dealt with this? i will pay money for help..

Hi,

I can't get my Huawei 169 modem to function in Windows 7, I've tried both build 6801 and 6956 -same result

As soon as I plug the modem in Win7 recognizes it as a usb disk, I can access the disk and launch the on board installer. I've downloaded the latest driver from the Huawei site, but the installer fails with the error "can't find any modem"

If I do a hardware scan in the device manager only the usb disk turns up, but not the modem.

I'm using this modem on this laptop in both WinXP and OSX without any problems, so the modem and PC is allright...

Is there any special windows 7 services that I need to start?

Hi!

I recently moved to Beijing, and signed up for the local broadband here. They gave me the Huawei HG527 -c router. It does state wi-fi and indeed it does have a signal, but this signal is only for networking, and you cannot go online by connecting to this with a wifi laptop or phone etc.

I called them, they say that they supply the modem locked, and if I want to have internet wifi I should buy a new router (whatever brand I want). Now this seems rather silly to me, and I was hoping that someone had a workaround for this, possibly a way to flash the firmware and install standard firmware on it.

Any other advice is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I recently bought me a 4G modem Huawei E8278, which is supercool and reliable. My problem is that I connect it to my desktop PC and the speed is ridiculously bad (15mbit/s down at best and ~1mbit/s up), although I am aware of that my sim card is on unlimited speed/data. Ok. Bought me a Trendnet TU2-EX5, which I supposed was good enough to extend my 4g modem and I could place it near a window and get faster speeds. The funny thing is, that is doesn't work that way for some reason. It seems that this cable (it is an active USB repeater) cannot provide enough power to the modem, because when I connected it, it could not boot up. I saw Windows trying to "find new hardware" multiple times, but the device never worked. Duhh.. Now, apparently, I am going to return this cable to the shop, hopefully they are going to take it back. Please give me advice what cable should I buy and be sure it works (I need at least 3 meters long, 5 would be ideal). I mean if You had an actual experience in extending a 4g modem with a USB cable. Thanks in advance.

hi all got laptop and trying to use this hauwei E220 when I plug in it says it cant connect etc coz of drivers ive looked on web for drivers for windows 7 ultimate but the sites are gone as old I think as they dont open could someone help please laptop is currently on vista but im upgrading in next few hours

A:Huawei E220 drivers

Hi, Have a look at this page, enter your device details into it, seems to be the right site.
Also with Vista, when you start the installation of the drivers, use right-click and run as administrator , rather than open/run.
http://www.huaweidevice.com/worldwi...searchSupportByDown&keywords=e220&checkFlag=1
If there are no drivers for Windows 7, try the Vista version (get the correct version 32 or 64 bit.) They are often the same for many devices.

i have a 3g huawei data card & a connection also, but it is accept only 2g signals. What problem is it ?

A:data card huawei

Likely a signal issue. There is either not a 3G signal at that location or the signal is too weak.

Hi,guys !
I've got really serious problem with my Huawei SmartAX MT810 modem on Windows7.
I had Windows7 since it's first release in public beta,my modem was working just fine, until these last weeks when it started to turn off by itself .
I formatted my PC to Windows Vista SP1,and it was working, when I upgraded this Sunday to Windows7,the problem came back.
Now,the modem disconnects and turns off every 2 or 3 minutes.
Please help me ?
Thanks

A:Problem with my Huawei modem

I think the best idea would be to try & get hold of a copy of build 7068 or 7077 as they have by far the best device drivers. Failing that you could try searching for the latest drivers (when you are occasionally connected).

I downloaded a file from the Huawei website which i think is meant to be firmware for the driver but i have no idea what to do with it, it says it's in File format and is 10.1MB
if anyone knows what i need to do with the file, i would appreciate it alot if you can explain it to me

A:Huawei E160G Firmware

Are there no instructions on their site or in the downloaded package?

Be aware that a failed firmware update can render your device useless, they should only be done to fix or address a known issue and in many cases with the help or advice of the manufacturer or provider of the device.

Hello everyone, I have a problem with my PC.

I installed my USB Modem (Huawei K3765, unlocked) but when I tried to connect to the internet using mobile partner, my PC suddenly crashed. The message on the BSOD was "bad_pool_caller". I use windows 8 pro 32bit. My modem worked perfectly fine on the previous version of windows (XP professional SP 3 and Windows 7 Ultimate, all 32 bit). I had no idea why this happened since the driver was succesfully installed (I checked in device manager, there was no problem with any device).

Can you give me some help? Thank you

PS: Sorry for my english

Hello,  I am having an issue with a newly installed Huawei ME906s (FRU 00JT491) on my t460. The first two times I turned on the t460, it booted normally and Windows recognized the new WWAN card and was able to connect to LTE network. However, I am getting the 1802 BIOS error now. According to Huawei ME906s, the WWAN should be whitelisted for my t460.  I am currently on BIOS 1.13 Any ideas why it would work the first two times and then refuse to boot after?  Thank you in advance.

Hi guys,
I have Huawei E220 Mobile Broadband dongle from Maxis Broadband (unlocked), bought it used. It works fine with Windows XP, and with some problems with device manager in Windows 7. Oooookay, now let's see Windows 10:

-When I want to use it, I ALWAYS need to go to the device manager and do "Update driver software"-"USB xHCI Host Complaint controller" and so on. That is not the huge problem for me, but for my father for e.g is very hard step, because he doesnt want to make any settings on my pc, because he doesnt understand them much. I bought this modem, to use it when I want to have internet access, without having Wireless. I also have in plan to sell this thing again, and buy MiFi router.

-Can someone help me and provide me a driver for Windows 10 Professional 64-bit?

On Android (connected via OTG) , this things works very well.

Thanks to all help from everyone.
If you want to provide me a driver, just type in subject Forum Thread-Driver for E220. My email [email protected] (just do copy-paste for email).

Hi, I'm using Huawei E220 USB Mobile Broadband modem for few years. It's very nice litlle dongle, however, Windows 10 doesn't like it. It just recgonizes it as USB Mass storage device and that's it. I know for a method that I go to DM (Device Manager), "update driver software" for it, reconnect it and that "fixed" my problem-only for current connecting, at next connecting-AGAIN (Oh God!!!). That is permanent fix for Win7, but on Win10 not (by my experience)

Do someone know for permanent fix for this problem?
Thanks for help.

I bought a 3g modem usb it has been installed everything is fine but when i want to connect it sends me a 619 error which states that port has been closed what can i do i have tried even putting into a different usb port and still gives me the same error Please help

A:Huawei 3G Usb Modem E1550

Go to "device manager" (start-run-type "devmgmt.msc"-ok).
Do you have any yellow "!", "?", "Unknown Devices" or "Other Devices"?
Is your 3G modem listed under "Modems" and are there any other modems listed there?
What make and model is the modem?

Is this a laptop? If so try taking it to a different location and see if it connects there.
Or try changing from 3G to GPRS in your software.

Hi,

It's my first post on this forum , so ... my name is Karol , and I'm from Poland.

Unfortunately I've got a big problem with my huawei e156g usb modem. I'm plugging it into usb port , and windows recognise it as a usb drive ( which is true , because it's got a microSD slot ). But nothing more is happening :/ I can't see any additional ( even "unrecognised device" ) info in the device manager. I know there should be at least new device in the "Ports (COM & LPT )" section.

My windows is 32-bit RC1.

I downloaded drivers from the manufacturer site , but i can't install them.

Long story short - that sux :/

From what i've been reading in the interenet generally , and on this forum , there is problem with 3g usb modems on windows 7.

I found thread on this forum with similar problem ( but different modem ) and the problem fixed itself after installing newer build of windows.

Is there any "tutorial" , or "tips&tricks" how to install such things ?

I'd be very grateful for any help.
Bes regards
Karol

Hi there
Welcome from "The frozen North"

I assume that your USB modem is one of those 3G-Mobile broadband one's for example like one of these - not suggesting you Buy but look at the pictures to see if your device looks like one of these.

Data Devices - Mobile Broadband - Vodafone

Now I'm not sure how the 3G system works in Poland but I'm sure it's much the same Europe wide so what usually happens is that there is actually SOFTWARE on the device itself so your computer should just see the device as an "external hard drive" or "removable drive".

Use Windows explorer to run the setup of the software - there will be some setup.exe or install file on the DEVICE itself.

This should then show up some "Dashboard" where you will get a prompt to connect to your Mobile service.

The reason the software is installed from the device itself is that the whole point of this is to be used on Laptops where - especially if they are company or work one's - you won't necessarily have admin rights but you still want to connect to the Internet / email / VPN's etc.

Added if it gives you an error like "Unsupported OS" run the software in VISTA SP2 COMPATABILITY MODE. This fixes a lot of install problems -- the option works on W7 RC build 7100.

Cheers
jimbo

Hi Guys!

I'm having trouble with this USB modem of mine..

I am currently using it in two laptops..One using Vista Basic and the other one XP...

The modem works wonderfully before on both laptop...But now it refuses to connect on the Vista..The "Mobile Partner" keep telling me of "Connection Terminated" each time I try to dial it..

I tried to look around the Huawei support forum..And they advises us to do this...

"Please operate as below:
1. click start and run of your pc ,input ?C:\Documents and settings\all users\application data\microsoft\network\connections\pbk? enter ,then delete the ?rasphone? ,
C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Network\Connections\Pbk(for vista)
reboot your pc ,plug MODEM and try to dial .

2. If the step 1 can not resolve this problem ,please right click the ?my computer? and select properties.
3. click services and search the service named remote access connection manager, right click it and select properties.
4. click general and select the manual in the startup type item.
5. Then click start and OK.
6. if the service can not be started ,please start the below services first:
1?Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
2?Plug and Play
3?Telephony
After done this, please try to dial again, thanks!"

Anyhow...I'm lost at the 2nd steps...As I've tried 1st step..and nothing happen...Tried to go and right-click on my computer... Read more
