Solved: Difference between two WD Black models?: WD5003AZEX and WD5002AALX

Q: Solved: Difference between two WD Black models?: WD5003AZEX and WD5002AALX

I'm in the market for a WD Black 500GB, I found two variants: WD5003AZEX and WD5002AALX. Apart from the 64MB vs 32MB Cache, what is the difference between the two models? I looked at the WD website and the data sheet (PDF) showed no other differences. Also, which one is better [if any]?

Preferred Solution: Solved: Difference between two WD Black models?: WD5003AZEX and WD5002AALX

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I am planning on purchasing an Acer Aspire R 14 laptop.  I specifically researched the R5-471T-52EE model (http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2498473,00.asp).  On Acer's website I didn't find this particular model, but the following models all have the same specs: R5-471T-57RD (http://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/model/NX.G7WAA.011)R5-471T-58FW (http://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/model/NX.G7WAA.015)R5-471T-50UD (http://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/model/NX.G7WAA.008)R5-471T-51UN (http://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/model/NX.G7WAA.006) The only difference I found between each of these models is a slightly difference battery capacity. Can someone help me understand why there are 4 practically identical models of the same laptop, and if there are any significant differences I am missing? Thank you!

Help!Last night I purchased the i7 HP Spectre from John Lewis:http://www.johnlewis.com/hp-spectre-x360-13-4129na-convertible-laptop-intel-core-i7-8gb-ram-512gb-ss...I was under the belief, due to pricing, that this was the same as PC Worlds i7:http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/laptops/laptops/hp-spectre-x360-qhd-13-3-2-in-1-ash-silver-10...But I have now noticed different product codes, and of course I want the newest/best for the such similar prices:13-4172na (PC World)13-4129na (John Lewis)Can anyone work out the release dates or any other differentiation? Have been unable to work it out from the HP website etc. Need help asap as I may be cancelling my order... any help appreciated!

A:HP Spectre - difference between models

HP's product coding is just not very transparent but it is very possible laptops with the same specs have multiple product numbers depending on distribution channel. I am sure John Lewis and PC World is each big enough to receive dedicated model numbers from HP. I have scoured the spec lists for you on both these laptops and as far as I can ascertain, they are identical: same processor, memory, solid state drive, wireless card, screen resolution. Functionally I can see no difference.

Hi, Seeing as there's no contact e-mail for these kind of questions I hope someone in here can help me. I am looking forward to buy a ThinkPad P40, and I found these two models way cheaper than if I buy at Lenovo directly; 20GQ001NMD, 20GQ001NMS. Can someone tell me if these are worse models than the one I can get from Lenovo directly? It seems very strange that they are so much cheaper, we're talking about 3000 DKK (danish kroners), equals to 350. I think I found once that the two models I am asking for are from september last year. -Can that really make such a big difference? The shop is getting new units later this month, same models they say. Have a nice day.

I have 2 computers which I wish to network. I have a broadband, cable connection to my primary computer and no connection yet to my secondary. Is there sufficient difference in speed, or would I notice any difference at all, between the 11b and the G. 54mbps routers, to justify paying $40 more for the latter? CompUSA has on sale, this coming Sunday, a Netgear MR 814802.11b Cable/DSL wireless router for $29.99 after rebates. They also are offering a SMC Wireless G. 54 mbps Cable/DSL router for $69.99 after rebates. Which would be the best buy for the long pull?

A:Speed Difference Between Router Models?

If you go wireless, you'll see a large difference in local network speed between the 11mb 802.11b and 54mb 802.11g wireless connections. OTOH, you won't see any difference in Internet sharing speed, wired or wireless.

I recently inherited a few T5470 and T5470W units.   I deployed two of the T5470W units and would like now to use the T5470 units for the exact same purpose.  They appear to be very similar, but it would be most helpful to know in advance what the difference is between these two models before I start setting them up and using them.  Most specifically, I would like to know if these units can be considered more or less interchangable.  I'd like to be able to image the setup I'm using and load it across multiple units regardless of whether they are T5470 units or T5470W units. Thanks so much for the assistance!

A:T470 - difference between 20HD002HGE and 20HES0XH24 models

I don't think you will find what you need.  20HD002HGE is a standard model.  You can find it in the systems reference.  (Google search for psref T470), but the "GE" at the end may mean it was built for sale in Georgia (country, not state).  20HES0XH24 looks like a special or custom configuration.  (not a standard model)

I ordered 2x WD5002AALX 500GB Western Digital drives from Amazon about a month ago. Both drives quickly started behaving erratically, spinning down and then back up when attempting to read from or write to the disk. It got to the point I could not even recover data from one of the drives because the problem was so bad.

Both drives came from a batch manufactured on 05 MAY 2011.

I Got an RMA for both drives from Amazon and they sent me 2 new drives. The one I am using has a manufacture date of 20 JUN 2011, so I assume it isn't from the same batch. I installed Windows XP Pro, updated it, installed hardware drivers, downloaded and installed Avast! and other little things with no issues. As soon as I placed a CD with some of my backed up data from the previous drives into my drive and tried to copy the files onto the new drive it started exhibiting the same behavior. I used Avast! to double check for any virus and found none.

Has anyone else been experiencing similar problems with this drive? Is the entire series just a dud from Western Digital? I'm very frustrated and want to know if I am alone in this or if others using the same drive have had a similar experience.

A:Problems with WD5002AALX 500gb HDD?

I have seen something similar before but the issue was not with the hard drives but with an overtaxed power supply. If the power supply is near max output and you try to run an additional device such as the CD/DVD drive, that power has to come from somewhere, so the hard drives stop getting the power they need. Do you know the wattage rating of your power supply?

I just got done building my new setup.

I have a M4A87TD EVO motherboard, that supports up to 6 x SATA 6Gb/s drives. So, I bought a WD5002AALX http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136795drive and used the "6.0Gbs cable" (not sure if that matters hehe) that came w/ the MB. Windows 7 Ultimate x64 installed to the drive with no problem. I have the drive hooked up to the SATA1 port on the MB.

I have been running in Windows 7 with no problem for a few days, and I finally got around to putting in my WD7501AALS which also has Windows 7 on it. I used it in my previous computer as the main drive. The WD5002AALX will not boot at all. When I try to force it in the BIOS to be the main boot drive, I get an error when I restart and try to boot to only it. It tries to boot, but gives an error about "Reboot and select a proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key".

WD5002AALX is in SATA1 and WD7501AALS is in SATA2. If I make the SATA1 drive the 1st hard drive, that's when I get the error above. If I make SATA2 the 1st hard drive, I boot into my older install of Windows 7, with the old drive. If I disconnect the WD7501AALS, I boot into Windows 7 on the SATA1 drive with no problems.

I'm confused why it's doing that. It's like I can't have another drive hooked up with my new WD5002AALX drive. I also tried an older hard drive in SATA2. It's a WD3200AAKS and does not have an OS installed... Read more

The system device menu showed a couple of yellow question marks, of which one was a VGA driver. I uninstalled it, and tried re loading the drivers. Windows was searching for the drivers and I left it to it.

When I came back, the screen was black. I presumed it had gone to sleep, and moved the mouse. Nothing. It was completely black. The power was on, but there was nothing on the screen. A reboot brought back the usual startup screen, followed by the Windows XP logo and the blue "progress" bar. But the screen then goes black again. The startup sound can be heard.

I have tried to reboot in safe mode (by pressing f8 on reboot) but nothing works - Ie i dont get the option to boot from safe mode, it continues to boot as normal.

I cant see a start button so cant do anything via msconfig either.

It wont boot from the XP disc or from the motherboard dvd

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

This problem is found in Vista Premium. I don't know whether it applies to other versions of Windows.

The first picture shows the property details of an mp3 recording. As you can see, I have added some very important information in the Comments window.

The second picture shows the property details of the same recording, except that the format is wav. Here, there is no Comments window to add this important information. Why the difference? Can I somehow add a Comments window to the property details window for wav recordings?

Not that it matters, but I also noticed I cannot add comments to .ogg or .flac files.

A:[SOLVED] Why The Difference?

WAV files in Windows don't support tag editing (the 'tag' being the details of the file), whereas MP3 files do. I think WMA files do also.

I need to create more than one bootable CD, each with a separate ISO file for the respective software. I come to find out that I do not have at least ahead Nero 5.5.24 or later, but instead The upgrade to ahead Nero 7 discount upgrade is $64 vs $80 full tilt boogie. Not worth it if there are freely available CD ROM burners.

Can anyone recommend a freely available tool for this purpose?

Also, what is the difference between just burning an ISO image to a CD, and making the CD ISO image bootable? Is there a difference? I thought there must be at least a FreeDOS OS (i.e. independent OS) which could find the ISO image to launch on the CD - is that correct that that is the difference in what makes a CD bootable vs just a CD with a file archived on it?

The two different ISO images I need to make bootable CDs with are:
1) memtest86+-1.65.iso
2) seatoold_en.iso (Segate Tools Desktop - English ISO)

P.S. I can boot from my Windows XP Pro SP2 OEM CD, but just burning the image of the ISO onto the CD doesn't appear to boot from it. Note: Because I can boot the Windows CD, I do have the boot order specified to boot off of the CD before the hard disk in my BIOS!

I am just curious what the difference between NTSC and PAL is?

After it was created using the AVI option, that is when I tried to play the file on the PC and it popped up the error which is above...

I have never installed a retail version of XP home or pro.
Do the installation disks differ in any way from their oem versions?
I presume they both have to be activated on line.
Are they both supplied with a coa sticker, if not then how is the licence supplied,
I have heard that these versions are portable, (they can be moved from pc to pc, as long as they are only installed on one at any given time) if so how does this work as I thought that a number of signatures were needed off hardware components.

So I've been told of a raid striping set up, a Sata at 150mb/s running at 10k rpms is the best. How does that compare with a Sata at 300bm/s running at 7200 rpms. i know the transfer rate is faster but i was told the hard disk simply doesn't spin fast enough to achieve that type of transfer rate. is this true?

A:Solved: Difference i Hard drives.

Yes, thats true. The interface speed is not the slow part of any current drive, its always the internal data rate of the drives. So the 10,000 RPM drives are indeed faster then 7200 RPM drives, regardless of the interface.

An example of this are the WD Raptors, they're on the third generation of the drives but they still transfer at 1.5Gb/s rather then 3.0Gb/s. They are the faster retail drive out. They have however updated the drives to take use SATA 3Gb/s feature like Native Command Queuing but left the transfer speed at 1.5Gb/s.
