I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello, I have an Ideapad 510S13ISK on Windows 10 bought less than a year ago. After installing the Updates for windows (Version 1709) on December my pc started not to wake up from sleep mode, neither closing and opening the screen nor trying to wake it up using the power or any other key.I tried previously to update all drivers from Lenovo's support site. Then i tried to use a restor point created before the Windows Updates, but they still remained installed. At that point i reset the pc using the reset option by windows but the problem was still present.I updated again all drivers after the reset but nothing, it doesn't wake up. Precisely the pc seems to wake up but the screen doesn't, and it "flashes". Here a video of the probem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LntcxCrlZqQ I'm sorry for my english, hope you understand. Kind regards. Marco

I just recieved my 720S-13ARR today. I can't seem to get it to wake up from sleep. Pressing the power button does nothing, nor does pressing anything else. I have to long hold the power button to force a shut down and power it back on. Any help? I've already tried checking the power management settings and nothing in there is working. I've also tried turning on hybrid sleep which didn't do anything either.

Hi guys, (first post here )... I was highly impressed with some of the deeply technical answers on this site, so I'm hoping someone can help me narrow down to the cause of this issue I have, and possibly help me learn something about system software and firmware

So some time ago I acquired this MSI P45 platinum third-hand, and it has been living up to its name. However, it does not sleep and wake up properly.

To be specific, it looks like it sleeps properly, but doesn't wake up properly. The lights and fans start up, but one of 2 things happen

1) the POWER LED doesn't light up, only the HDD LED (strange)
2) the POWER LED lights up, the HDD LED doesn't work

Either way, no display. or any activity I can cause through the keyboard. I'm on BIOS 1.7b14(official Beta BIOS) (A7512IMS.17E). It didn't work with 1.6(official release) either. It doesn't seem to be any known bug.

I've tried a bunch of things, but I would like to try steps systematically once again, in case I've missed some combination. So, what could be the issue, and what can I check?

Hello Milind, and welcome to Seven Forums.

You might see if using the tutorial below to add AHCI Link Power Management to your power plan settings, and set it to HIPM+DIPM may help.

HiI've recently purchased the above laptop.  I treid to connect to a few different monitors USB to USB without any success.  I then purchased an HDMI to USB C adaptor so I could link by that method.  The laptop does not recognise the monitors and the monitors do not recognise the 'USB Device' ie laptop.  I have also tried downloading various drivers from this site without any change to the outcome.  Any ideas?

Hi. Welcome to the Forum

I don't have that machine, it looks very nice   According to the specs it has "1 x Type-C Thunderbolt" which is very modern, I don't have much experience with Thunderbolt.

I would try first to run "Lenovo Vantage" and run an update on the computer drivers and firmware.

Here it is also the support site for that model to get the drivers by hand. You can also check if Lenovo Vantage forgot to update any newer driver.
https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/700-series/720s-13ikb-type-81bv/dow...

I would like to have more experience with this model, USB monitors and Thundebolt to help you more with this subject.

Regards

My IdeaPad, suddenly will not turn on. Pressing the Power button, a led on the button is white for about 4 seconds and then turns off. I experience the same if it's running on battery or AC adapter. The led next to the AC adapter is white when the USB C charging cable is attached. I've tried holding down the Power button for +15 seconds with and without the AC adapter attached. Any ideas for further troubleshooting before returning the laptop for repair? Thanks, -Martin

Hi, I am writing here because i am concerned by an issue that happened to me today. I came home from school where i was working on my laptop, then once i got home i picked my laptop to work again, but i instantly noticed a big crack on my screen going from the top, near the camera, spreading until it reaches the bottom left of the screen. I decided to call the warranty service from lenovo and explained them the situation, but the customer service representative told me that the warranty doesn't cover physical damage and and that i had to send them the computer so a technician decides whether it is my fault or not... I am very concerned by the situation because i am sure that that crack isn't the result of a bad usage of the product from me, i always take care of it and i have it since almost 2 months.  Considering that, i just wanted to know if something similar happened to other people here and what did the technicians decide ? Thanks for your help

Hello, I am posting on behalf of my mom. Similar to some complaints of the Yoga Series her IdeaPad 720s screen is beginning to separate from the panel. Because I seldom ever use her laptop I've not really noticed. While trying to figure out an issue shes been having with some work software (electronic health records), I noticed that the bottom of the panel (in between the rubber seal and hinge area) is slightly exposed and is showing some of the innards of the laptop. She doesn't have the greatest eye sight, so she hasn't noticed. Is anyone else having these issues? Is there a fix or am I going to have to RMA the unit? She's only had the unit for about a month and a half.

Hi everyone, I bought this laptop a week ago and ever since am trying to figure out a solution for my problem. While setting up my laptop, I noticed that the fingerprint sensor wasn't listed in the device manager. Also, in the login settings it says that windows hello isn't compatible with my device. Doesn't make any sense since the lenovo shop even states that this particular model supports windows hello with its fingerprint sensor. The activation of the sensor should be able via bios security settings but there are no entries for the fp sensor whatsoever. No activation, no data reset. I don't think that the latest windows update has something to do with it, since it shouldn't effect the bios settings or am I wrong? Kurs

Hi all,Last October I bought an Ideapad 720s 13IKB, and ever since I always had problems with the touchpad. Sometimes it works, sometimes it gets blocked, sometimes even the cursor doesn't show. I've surfed the Internet and tried all the possible solutions:- Checked for any possible update (both Windows' and the Lenovo's driver);- Uninstalled the driver and rebooted the laptop in order to let it find and install the driver by itself;- Tried several types and versions of drivers;- Rebooted I-don't-know-how-many-times the laptop, hoping that things will get better;- And yes, I checked the touchpad is enabled through the F6 button. I don't think it is a hardware problem, since the touchpad sometimes works I'm sick and tired of this problem, since the computer is new and it costed a little fortune and I need it everyday since I use it for work. Any saviour?

Hi, I'm looking at buying this laptop, but i came across a few questions: 1) Can this laptop support up to 32gb RAM as it is mentioned in some youtube reviews? 2) Can this laptop support video through the USB-C port as well, or just data? I'm looking at connecting 2 portable USB-C monitors, 1 through the Thunderbolt port and the other through the normal USB-C port. 3) Is the Thunderbolt port 2 lanes or 4? 4) Is this 4k screen anti-glare as well? 5) How would this 4k screen work connected to 2 FHD portable monitors, in terms of resolution? 6) Is this 4k screen suffering from backlight bleeding as some reviews suggest? Thanks in advance.

A:Lenovo Ideapad 720s 15IKB Touch 4K - specs

Answers to some of your questions: 1) Yes, it supports up to 32GB RAM, however you would need two 16GB 2400MHz DDR4 SO-DIMM modules, which are rather expensive.2) I can confirm, that one USB-C port supports ThunderBolt 3 and DisplayPort 1.2a connection.4) No, it's a glossy panel.6) Most of IPS screens suffers from backlit bleeding problem. It's mostly depends on unit, which you've receive.

Having trouble here would be super grateful for your help. I connected one external monitor to this alptop but failed in connecting a second monitor to it. This is the adapter I used: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/j5creat...?skuId=5930600 So that adapter worked to connect one external monitor but I wasn't able to get a 2nd monitor to work sucessfully. Hi, I recently purchased a Thinkpad X1 Yoga, shipped on May 16, 2016.  I have an issue:     When I use the left side USB port (the one on the side of the power charging port) to charge my old Ipod and the laptop goes to sleep. The laptop does not wake up when opening the lid or pressing on the power button. However, as soon as I disconnect my Ipod from the USB port. The laptop immediately wakes up but unable to login using the fingerprint reader. Specific steps to reproduce: 1) Plug x1 yoga power cord to the laptop 2) Plug Ipod to the left side USB port. Make sure Ipod has no earphones plugged in. 3) Put the laptop in sleep mode 4) Close the lid of the laptop 5) Wait until iPod is no longer being charged by the laptop (a few seconds after the laptop goes to sleep) 6) Wait until iPod automically turns off on its own (it takes 15 to 30 mins, not sure exactly how much time.) 7) Open the laptop lid and notice that the laptop is not waking up. 8) Press on the "power" button on the right side of the X1 Yoga. Notice that the laptop does not wake up. 9) Remove the iPod from the USB port on the left side of the X1 Yoga.        Notice that the laptop is now able to wake up.        Also notice that the finger print reader is not responding. Cannot login using the fingerprint reader. Seems like a driver issue. Lenovo please confirm! ThanksWilly

Came across my first major problem. When I try to go into sleep mode (either through the Start menu or pressing the power button), the hard drive light blinks for a second then the screen goes black. BUT... my power light stays on (should be blinking) and pressing it again, the mouse button... nor any key press on the keyboard will wake it up. I had to hard shutdown (holding the power key down for like 5 seconds) for the light go off and had to keep rebooting from scratch.

That's a major pain since waking up out of sleep mode is normally much faster and convenient. To make things worse.... it seems like 10 takes longer to boot up from scratch than 8.1 did. I've yet to see if SHUTDOWN works properly or not. Not a happy camper on the sleep mode issue. It worked under 8.1 just fine. Anybody else?!?

EDIT: Shutdown goes through a longer process, but ends the same as sleep does...... The power light stays on.

I'm using an HP Envy w/ i7-4510u CPU / 8GB RAM / 4GB Nvidia GTX 850M / 1TB drive

EDIT#2: Now SLEEP and SHUTDOWN appear to be working properly and Windows 10's boot up times are as fast or faster than 8.1 now. It's like a car and trying to clear out the lines of bad fuel before it runs right. Just some weird hiccups.

EDIT#3.... Now it's doing it again!

A:Sleep Mode doesn't work right nor does it wake up.

Identical issues here. Also an HP Envy. Also sleep/hibernate works sometimes and not others.

This will be a deal breaker for me if I can't turn off my computer and turn it back on with my status still intact. I'll (gulp) be forced to return to 8.1

Will post here if I figure out a solution

Hello,I have a lenovo y700 on Windows 10 and when I put my laptop to sleep, I am able to turn it back on. But sometimes the screen stays black and the keyboard lights are on. Such that the computer did start up but the screen doesn't want to.The only way I am able to fix this is buy putting the computer to sleep multiple times and then wake it up back again and after once or twice it starts to work. The solution (fool-proof) is to hold the power button to shut it down and then start it up again.I bought this laptop a week ago and (yes) I updated all my drivers(including NVIDA GPU) and windows updates. A:Lenovo y700 screen doesn't wake up from sleep

Hi bouga ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Checking on the support site for   Notebook IP Y700-15ISK I7 , seems no BIOS update needed for this model.
Typically even on Win Vista and Windows 7 that issue with sleep has been related to hybrid features.

Method 1 : You may try to disable it using the cmd elevated for the command  powercfg -h off .
Check on this video link for the guide steps

Method 2 : Setting Power option to High Performance instead of conservation mode . then manualy setting sleep on the start icon

Continue to apply neccessary updates that may correct this issue but for the time being , you can use Method 2 as alternate solution if method 1 fail to correct it.

Hope this helps.

Regards

Well it's not the whole truth, since I can start it with the power button code (you know, that take of battery and AC cable, ten times the power button, power button for 30 sec, put power back, and works like a charm), but it's kinda annoying, that I always need to use this method. So I'd like to ask if there is any solution to make it work normal. Another thing is in the subject too, well that's just what I said in the subject, laptop doesn't wake up. Is there any solution for this?OS is Windows 10, and I use the laptop since 2014 February.

Hi Peter,

Welcome to Lenovo Forums.

I have a few questions to gain more clarification about your issue: FIrstly, does the issue arise when you attempt to wake the system from sleep while plugged in, or is it an issue where if you put it to sleep while plugged in, you will not be able to wake the machine?

Also, do you use Windows for the power settings or are you using Lenovo Power Manager?

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get on.

Regards,
Shashi

Hello,

I have a lenovo y700 on Windows 10 and when I put my laptop to sleep, I am able to turn it back on. But sometimes the screen stays black and the keyboard lights are on. Such that the computer did start up but the screen doesn't want to.

The only way I am able to fix this is buy putting the computer to sleep multiple times and then wake it up back again and after once or twice it starts to work. The solution (fool-proof) is to hold the power button to shut it down and then start it up again.

I bought this laptop a week ago and (yes) I updated all my drivers(including NVIDA GPU) and windows updates. I also don't have that many background apps running.

Here are my specs:
Lenovo Ideapad Y700-15 Laptop - 80NV005FUS

Processor - 6th Generation Intel Core i7-6700HQ (2.60GHz 1600MHz 6MB)
Operating System - Windows 10 Home 64
Memory - 16.0GB PC4-17000 DDR4 2133 MHz
Graphics Card - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M 4GB
Hard Drive - 1TB 5400 RPM+128GB SSD

Thanks for your time, cheers

Bouga

I have been using this laptop (510s) for few months now. I paid over a thousand dollar for this laptop and the laptop doesnt even wake up from sleep. i can hear the fan working and the keyboard light turns on but the screen stays dark. this is not acceptable. i have to fully turn my laptop off in order to turn on the screen back on again. this problem doesnt occur everytime, but still happens every now and then.
