Yoga 710 14 Matte Panel type?

Q: Yoga 710 14 Matte Panel type?

Here in Austria you can buy the Yoga 710 14 with a matte panel. However I could not find out the exact type. Does anybody know what the panel is like? Any information about brightness and contrast in comparison to the glossy touch panel?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I bought the Yoga 720 13IKB Type 81C3 - Model 81C3005LPG - last week to use it for photo edit and I noticied that the screen have strong yellowish tint.I tried to find a calibrated ICM (or ICC) color profile on the vga_drivers folder but could not find it.Also tried to use the windows 10 color calibration tool with no satisaftory results. I'm really disapointed and before start to tell the world on photo forums that this laptop is not suited to photo edit because of this super strong yellowish tint screen I decided to ask here if any members of the comunity or the Lenovo support team have any ICM color profile file that minimizes it.Note that this model have the BOE06FA panel and not the LG (like some USA models I believe). Thanks in advanceHugo Veríssimo

I just watched MobileTechReview's review of the X1 Yoga G2 and what strikes me is that the screen looks really super glossy! The review unit in question is the 1920x1080 IPS screen. Not sure if it was touch or not... anyway such a glossy screen is not practical for business use IMHO. So... aren't there any matte display options available for the X1 Yoga G2? Brgds...   /Thomas PS. Hi there, hopefully someone can help me. Back when my laptop was still under warranty, I complained to Lenovo about the many scratches I was getting on my screen from using their pen. I don't press hard when I draw, and I even bought replacement nibs just in case there was something sharp on the one I was using. Alas, nothing helped. This didn't happen on the last tablet Thinkpad (X61) I had! At the time, I couldn't afford to send my laptop in to get it repaired. I was in the middle of a VERY busy college year. But now, the scratches are so numerous, it's really affecting my ability to work on it. Is there a way to just... replace the matte finish? Looks like it's like a screen protector to me. Is that something I can purchase on my own, or would I nee to take my laptop to a repair place to get it put on correctly? I tried to see if I could take the thing off myself, but I can't even get my fingernail under a corner. I HOPE it's a screen protector of sorts, because there's no way I can afford replacing the entire screen.

I am a very frustrated and angry customer at the moment as i keep running into Road Block and unacceptable answers.  This issue is enough to cause me to never buy another Lenovo laptop or any laptop at Best Buy!I bought my computer in July and in September i noticed a key had popped off-  the "< ," key next to the M key.  I have used the key board only when i was setting up-  now at my office and at customers i set it in downward dog mode ;-) and use a blue tooth key board.    So it is not from use that it broke.   I took the laptop into BEST BUY and was told that the key was missing a metal part on the back so they could not fix it onsite-  i would have to send it in and be without my laptop for a week to 10 days - unacceptable -  this was a month or more ago. I searched on the LENOVO website and could not find a way to purchase a single or the entire set of Keys!  I am self employed as a software consultant.   My life is pretty busy and i finally decided today to bite the bullet and ask for a call from Lenovo support.  Again i am told the only way to fix this is to send my laptop in for a repair.  I asked to just be able to buy a KEY - i am told that well they do not sell individual keys - they would replace the entire keyboard!  So sell me the keyboard and or send me one an i will take into best buy to have them replace it while i wait.  They cannot do that.   I live... I purchased a decked out pavilion (i5 6200u, IPS panel, 8 gigs of ram, all that jazz) a few months ago, and recently noticed dead pixels.  I sent it to HP to get the panel replaced but they replaced it with the much lower quality stock TN panel.  I paid extra for an IPS because I'm an artist so color correctness is very important.  The color shift on this panel is horrible. This isn't what I paid for.

Win7 control panel offers a similar 'open file type with' dialog that is in XP.

However I've noticed that there is a problem with the extension MPEG4, MPEG-4. MPEG-4 filetype
does not appear on the list. There are options to 'change" but no "add" that I can see.

How can an additional file type be added? As is, I cannot select the proper program to open.

A:Add a file type to default programs in control panel

MPEG-4 is not a file extesion - this explains better from https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/316992

Quote:
MPEG-4 is an International Standards Organization (ISO) specification that covers many aspects of multimedia presentation including compression, authoring and delivery. Although video compression and file container definition are two separate and independent entities of the MPEG-4 specification, many people incorrectly believe that the two are interchangeable. You can implement only portions of the MPEG-4 specification and remain compliant with the standard.

The MPEG-4 file format, as defined by the MPEG-4 specification, contains MPEG-4 encoded video and Advanced Audio Coding (AAC)-encoded audio content. It typically uses the .mp4 extension.

Its default is for microphone, all standard 3.5mm mono microphones will fit and work. Note: probably around 95% of 3.5mm headphones and microphones on the market now are normal/standard. Regards.

A:USB Type-C docking station for Yoga 900

As far as I know, Lenovo currently doesn't offer a USB Type C docking station for the Yoga 900. As you can't charge the Yoga 900 using the USB Type C port, you have to plug in two cables anyway. You might consider buying this adapter by Dell: http://www.amazon.com/Dell-Adapter-Type-Ethernet-470-ABQN/dp/B012DT6KW2 Unfortunately, it only has one USB 3.0 port, but it offers one HDMI, one VGA and one Ethernet port as desired.

I fought this problem all day and I think I have it narrowed down. System is Lenovo Yoga 900 i7 with Windows 10 with all latest updates. Application is Citrix Receiver 4.5. When using Quickbooks with the Citrix Receiver, mouse clicks are disabled/not recognized.  All keyboard inputs still work, the mouse arrow tracks correctly, but mouse clicks seem to be ignored.  This behavior occurs when booting to dual monitor setup with HDMI adapter in the USB Type-C port; booting to single monitor (Yoga), then plugging the HDMIR adapter in the USB Type-C port.  The only resolution is to boot to single monitor (Yoga) and work in single monitor mode exclusively.  I am using the USB Type-C to HDMI adaptor purchased from Lenovo.  This occurs with the Yoga trackpad AND occurs with my USB wireless mouse. Also note with native Windows applications, the mouse works fine with both  monitors connected and active. I really bought the HDMI adaptor to use two monitor with the Citrix Receiver.  I have tried to Google this problem, but I'm unable to find a Citrix Receiver support site/forum that would be appropriate for this question. Any advice appreciated.

Been a little embarrassed at two client sites in the last couple of weeks when I've tried to share my screen using the USB type-C port with either DVI or HDMI. In both cases (but not with VGA - it works fine with VGA, usually) the system locks - no keyboard, no mouse, until I remove the cable from the USB port. I've tried this with several adaptors - DVI-DisplayPort-USBC; HDMI-DisplayPort-USBC (there are no "multi-adaptors" from TypeC to all output types - VGA, DVI and HDMI, but there are plenty of display port multi-adaptors, and there are TypeC to DisplayPort.) The system at my office is VGA - and it works just fine. When I try to plug the DVI cable into the multi-adaptor, though, it behaves exaclty like at client sites - machine lock up and then no DVI out on the secondary monitor. Same for HDMI at the office - machine locks up for several seconds, recovers and then no HDMI out. Can't really afford to buy three completely different adaptors (assuming they're even made) for all possible client possibilities. Please tell me what diagnostics i can perform to isolate the problem. To summarize:VGA->DisplayPort->TypeC works (most of the time - not in all instances)DVI>DisplayPort>C never works (locks up and then doesn't recognize seconndary monitorHDMI>DisplayPort>C - ditto with DVI Thanks.

Hi! I have a YOGA 720-13IKB (8th gen i7, Portuguese model) for about two weeks, so I'm still testing the machine.Yesterday I tried to AC charge it through USB 3.1 Type-C port (#3 in this picture from user manual, since it's a PowerDelivery port and can be used as a AC power adaptar jack, according to this. The thing is... As soon as I plugged the AC, battery status indicator started quickly blinking in amber (3x blinks). I left it for about 15-20min and it was still quickly blinking (the computer was turned off). According to this table, there's no status "Blinking quickly (amber)" while Charging, so I have no idea what it means. In any case, I believe it was charging the battery, because I left it with around 5% of charge before turning it off, and after those 15-20min it had more than 20% (it was slowly blinking white when I plugged the AC on the "normal" port, #1 in the first picture). So... My question is: Is this normal behaviour? Does the quickly blinking amber mean something bad? Quickly blinking usually isn't good, specially in amber, haha. Thanks & cheers! felgy

Hi

I don't know about the TP Yoga 12, I have a TP Yoga 14.

I noticed that while you are typing you can move the trackpoint without issues, but the trackpad remains freeze while you type. I really do not know the reassson. But in my case the delay is very quick , it less then one second when I stop typing and the cursor with start moving (with the trackpad).

I'm not sure about the TP Yoga 12, but maybe you can check for a driver update on the support site of your model.  Does your computer has the Synaptics mouse? Check which driver version do you have installed and which is the lastest one.

I'm not sure if it will help but you can give it a try.

Hi, I recently bought a Yoga 500-14ISK Laptop (ideapad) - Machine Type 80R5 and have used it extremely rarely. I would say I've used it at a maximum of 30-40 hours. I have had some problems with the laptop but nothing that made it completely un-usable until now. On turning on the machine, the network wireless adapter acts strangely, often showing the airplane mode symbol in the task bar. I may or may not be able to connect to my Wifi network but less than 2 minutes later the entire Wifi adapter disappears from the OS, no longer having Wifi settings or being able to configure the Adapter via device manager. I've been told a fix for this may be turning the wireless off and on again via the BIOS but I can't figure out how I access it, considering the first screen I see is the loading symbol for Windows 10. Anyone got any advice? Harrison

Hi everyone. Hopefully I can get some assistance on this particular problem. I'm looking at a faulty Yoga 2 11 laptop (i3 processor) that belongs to a friend. He told me it no longer switches on anymore. It's about 18 months old (or thereabouts). The laptop powers on and the Lenovo screen appears for about two to three seconds and then it powers off immediately with a "click". My first thoughts were dust/overheating. Well I took the back panel off and as expected the fan but mainly the vents were solid with fluff and dust (couldn't see through them). I've since found out he likes to use the laptop on the carpet and in bed so not a great surprise! The fan itself wasn't too bad, I brushed it clean and also gently cleaned it with some alcohol solution. I have ordered a replacement but it seems very tough to get hold of one in the UK so I have ordered one from China but obviously that will take a good few weeks. However the blades of the fan were not very dirty so that may not be the issue. The fan turns freely and with no resistance. Cleaned the rest of the PC, as there was heavy fluff and dust towards the top of the motherboard.
