Lenovo IdeaPad 300 Sound Issue.

Q: Lenovo IdeaPad 300 Sound Issue.

Hello I just bought this laptop last week and I am already having trouble with the sound. I have recorded something on Adobe Audition, but when I hear it back, it sounds choppy with the volume. I did update the sound card, but it still sounds choppy. What else can I do to make it sound better?

Preferred Solution: Lenovo IdeaPad 300 Sound Issue.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I bought Lenovo Ideapad 510s 14IKB a month ago. Till now everything was working great, but now I am expriencing weird issue with sound played back through speaker.  When I play any sound (music or video file) through speaker, sometimes everything is fine, but very often sound is muted for 6 second in the begining and then it plays normally. When I connect headphones, I do not experience any issue.Anybody who experienced similar problems? I tried to uninstall audio driver, install it again, update driver, etc... Nothing helped.

I have just purchased this laptop which is marketed as being supplied with a " Harman" sound system. "Audio by Harman" is printed on the laptop. The Device Manager shows the sound card and driver as being "Conexant" There is a Harman App provided and also a Conexant App. Are these 2 sound systems related, same system or is there something wrong with the build or system ? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance. John

I have a Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 13, which came with an i5-3337U processor, 4GB RAM and 128SSD. I replaced the ram with http://www.integralmemory.com/sites/default/files/uploads/dpdf/IN3V8GNAJKXLV.pdf as I often found that 4gb wasn't enough. My laptop is now running at about 60 degrees celcius for each core. I don't know what it was before as I hadn't measured it before, but the fans sound louder. Have i installed ram that isn't compatible or something? It runs well and multitasking is now better, it just seems louder and hotter than before. Thanks in advance.

Bought a brand new laptop last week, right out of the box wi fi is dropping signal, disconnecting from my home wi fi. Problem started while uploading initial windows updates. Doesn't happens always but from time to time, enough to be annoying. Have a dozen devices on my home network they all work fine except two Lenovo laptops that we have (I noticed that the same thing is happening on my nieces laptop). Sometimes restarting wireless adapter will help sometimes it won't. On Lenovo support site i found a page that accurately describes may problem they suggested 5-6 methods to solve it. I try them all it's not working for me.https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht502846I'm pretty sure that problem is either in some of the windows updates, or wireless adapter software. Just gave a lot of money for a brand new laptop, and i have to deal with this bull.... it's annoying

Hello there, I've bought this laptop ( Lenovo IdeaPad 300 ) about 2 or 3 months ago and I've had the same issue all the time. First, I met the PalmTracking [Elan] Issue which is configuring PalmTracking through Elan or Windows doesn't work until I have found a fix which is to uninstall the Elan Driver untill they update it but it lead to another issue which is it gets automatically reinstalled after a restart, so I need a fix that won't need me to do it repetitvely. And then my trackpad suddenly just started moving so fast and randomly clicked about 50 or 100 Clicks per second ( not the real, approx with my vision ) everytime I just touch the TouchPad. I don't know what caused this issue. Note: I bought a mouse so I can use the laptop in a better way and in playing games, but I still use the trackpad. Thanks for your time.

So I just bought this laptop yesterday and installed some games and discord with it , plugged in my hed set and both audio and microphone worked perfectly. Today I talking in discord while playing a game when suddenly I my microphone just stopped working. ( note I was playing a game so couldn't have went and messed up the settings of anything, unless if I can do this with my keyboard.) -Plugged in headset to phone and both audio and mic worked so it couldn't be faulty-Made sure I went to Win 10 settings > Privacy and gave permisssion to everything that was shown there-Checked 'recording devices' and my mic was detected, and the green bar moves when I talk and make noise ( it was also set to default)-Then I used various apps that records audio and mic doesnt work, even went on google and ran a microphone test website and no audio was recorded. ..Someone send help ._.

I'm having issues with audio on my Lenovo ideapad 320S14IKB. When I plug in headphones via the 3.5mm audio jack, everything works fine; however, when I unplug the headphones and plug them back in I can't get any sound to come through them. The only workaround I have found is shutting down the laptop with the headphones unplugged, and plugging them in one it had rebooted. If I restart the laptop, the problem doesn't go away. I uninstalled the Dolby bloatware thinking that it was the cause but the problem still persists. Any ideas on what it could be? Edit: I have tried downloading my model's audio and BIOS drivers and neither has worked. Edit 2: Solved problem (see reply for details)

I managed to solve the promblem by completely uninstalling all audio drivers , restarting, and using the generic audio drivers.

I knew that this laptop had one tiny speaker but I didn't really mind because I use extra speakers. To my surprise, even if you connect a stereo pair of speakers the sound that you get is mono. I tried different kinds, of jacks, headphones and what so, but no stereo sound. It seems that the combo jack provides mono sound. The sound card is a realteck HD audio ALC233. Have all updates and laptop had windows 10 Home preinstalled You can check for your self doing the "left an right test" through control panel.  I also went back to the store and checked for my self on other demo laptops. Same issues there too. Went to other stores  same issues on all ideapads 100 seiries.I contacted Lenovo in Greece. They advised that the sound out the combo jack must be stereo in all occasions  and to send them the laptop to check it.But what are they going to check? All ideapads 100 series laptops in the market, at least the ones I tested provide mono sound out of the combo jack.Laptop specifications mention availability of a mono speaker and nothing about the combo jack. i will apreciate an official answer on this matter which will be beneficial to lenovo customers.

Hi there! I have a Lenovo Ideapad 710S that has really bad sound quality all of a sudden. When plugging in headphones the sound works great, but unplugging them makes the speakers on the laptop sound tinny and very low. It kind of feels like when you walk past people with earplugs that has full volume on. That "distant" sound. Almost as if my own headphones is still plugged in and lays beside my laptop or something.I've tried searching for a solution to this issue, without any luck at all. Can someone tell me what or how the problem may be solved? Maybe the speakers is bad and needs to be replaced, or can it be software issues?

I turned on my laptop this morning and I heard a crackling sound coming from the computer. The crackling wasn't coming from any speakers, rather what sounded like the right side of the laptop. I then checked my task manager to find that I was at 100% disc usage. I updated windows then I used Lenovo update to update the bios. Still at 100, I checked online for solutions. Did all the common ones, including setting my power option to high performance and running chkdsk. Didn't work.I then ran a hardware scan using Lenovo vantage, which made my fans go crazy, but eventually after about 45 minutes the scan ended and the disc usage went down to around 30%, then down again to start hovering around normal levels. However, the crackling sound still happens sometimes. The only tests that failed were the SMART short self test and the SMART drive self test. Why was it that the scan ending prompted the disc usage to go back to normal? And how can I stop this crackling? I didn't do anything abnormal with my laptop before the problem occured, and I travel with it carefully.

I've been using this laptop for around a year or so now, and it's worked perfectly up until this point in time.  The issue that I'm currently having is entirely mechanical. At the moment, my keyboard is intact and works just fine. However, if I press a key, (mainly the 'e' key) off-center, it pops the entire key up and I have to click it into place. It's not life-threatening or crucial to the machine's function, but when I am busy typing papers or lesson plans, having a key on the most constantly used vowel key continually pop up really puts a dampener in things. I've taken the key out and have tried to click it back in. While I can't see what's going on (given that there's a key in the way!), I can most certainly feel it clicking into place twice, both clicks stemming from the right side of the 'e' key. It seems that, to the best of my knowledge, only two out of four prongs that are meant to keep the key in place and in line are actually snapping and holding the key down. Whenever I type off-center and to the right, the entire left side of the key snaps up and must be pushed back into place. I'm wondering if there's anything I can or should do. Given that I've had my machine for over a year now, I'm unsure if my warranty still covers it (speaking of, is there a way to check warranty status online?). Please, if anyone has any advice on how to fix or replace a busted key/keyboard, please, let me know!

A:Lenovo Ideapad Y580 - Keyboard Issue

A replacement keyboard (chicony, oki, or dafon are the makers - be sure to look for the manufacturer label and p/n right below the lenovo p/n on the back to get a genuine keyboard) would make a good spares, they are about $30 on ebay. I replaced a broken key on a few different laptops but much prefer to swap out the entire keyboard.  Once a single key goes bad it's likely that more keys will start to fail (note that 'e' is perhaps the most commonly used key on your keyboard because it's the most popular vowel.  Other popular keys like 't' might be failing sometime soon).  So I would suggest you buy a spare keyboard and save it until you can't live without it, the procedure to replace the keyboard is a 10 minute swap. If you want to replace a key, a sharp tipped (xacto-style) knife blade, and a loupe (magnifying lens) are important accessories.  Buy from a reputable site which has good instructions ( http://www.laptopkey.com/ ).  Unfortunately, the key and hinge are manufacturer-specific (OKI, Chicony, Dafon, see above) so you will need to determine it from the guide on www.laptopkey.com.  When I fixed our Acer c720 I also used needlenose pliers to bend a metal tab back into place, the key hinge wasn't seating correctly because the metal tab had bent and was open too wide.  The Acer c720 has a nightmare keyboard to replace with 75 different locking plastic tabs that bind it to the undersize of the palmrest, so i had little choi... It came stock with a standard 5400 RPM HDD with Windows 8 on it, and I last night purchased a Intel 545s SSD (standard SATA connection) to install in the machine and install Windows 10 on it. It is a brand new SSD with nothing on it. When the Windows installation wizard gets to the point it asks me where I want to install Windows to, I get nothing in the window at all, and the SSD does not appear to be recognized in BIOS. Am I doing something wrong on my end, or is the SSD not compatible with this model of IdeaPad?

Dear  I have just purchased Lenovo Ideapad 310 15ISK. Notebok configuration is great, it is fast and body is good design but one thing bothers me, it is a screen resoultion 1366x768. The colors on the screen looks a bit pale, and the resolution is that way that you can see almost pixels on fonts and objects on the screen and icons are big. It reminds me on the resolution set by default when you just install fresh windows copy and hardware use default drivers for standard VGA display. This is how it was after installing fresh windows 10 home. After that when I installed offical Nvidia Geforce driver nothing changes in quality of display, like hardware doesn't detect driver software. I have never seen this in my time using computers. It is always that display quality somehow improves after installing a driver. Could it be I am missing somthing in settings, or this is just the way how it should work.  Thanks for help.

My Lenovo ideapad suddenly crashed and no longer loads properly. Now, if I try to turn it on, it no longer shows the Windows start up log in page, and instead shows a black screen with a blue box "Default boot device missing or boot failed. Insert recovery media and hit any key  then select 'boot manager ' to choose a new Boot Device or to boot recovery media." If you press enter while on this screen, it takes you to a grey page that says 'Boot Option Menu'. It shows 2 choices, both saying EFI PXE Network. When either choice is selected, it takes you to the initial default boot missing page.  Any idea on how to fix this? Especially if there is no reboot disc available?

Hello Sorry If this is in the wrong place but I couldn't find a board for IdeaPad 700. I've had this laptop for a decent while (almost a year) and although it hasn't really bothered me much in the past, it's really starting to bother me now as I'm now usually in an area with more people (libraries, lecture theatres etc.). Everytime I start up my laptop, I can hear a constant crackling sound (which would continue until I shut down the laptop but would continue again right as I turned it back on) and sometimes a beep or two but mainly from underneath my laptop where the fans are located or where my right speakers are located. I'm not sure if it is a sound card issue or a driver issue as I don't hear anything like that through my headphones and the sound is perfect, however, the crackling noise still continues on my laptop itself. When I play music or watch any video through my speakers, the sound from the left speaker seems fine but the sound from the right speakers sometimes becomes distorted and you can hear like a quiet mumbling sound of the music or video underneath. I've also noticed that when I am using my scroll wheel on my mouse or scrolling using my touch pad, the crackling gets louder but as soon as I stop scrolling, it goes back to its "normal" crackling sound. I'm not sure if this is enough information but I really have no other idea of how to accurately describe the sound. I've also tried changing driver versions but it did not seem to work or do anything... Read more

A:Lenovo IdeaPad 700-15ISK crackling sound (speaker?)

Hi VinceZent ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Try booting on the BIOS using the Novo key (item6 page6) to turn on and press a bit on the scrolling on the touchpad.
Check if same sound appears booting on another live media is available.

Reviewing the placement of the touchpad to the systemfan and right speakers , I think mechanically is an issue with the fan. Pressure can be done by the touchpad passing it to the fan and underlying structure including the speakers as ,maybe just a cable on the wrong place since expected that it would be silent on this model.

You don't have to change on the softwares but I would encourage you giving technical support a call for in warranty service and option that you can decide on.

Hope this help answer your query.
Update us how things go.

Hello everyone, I have recently purchased brand new Lenovo IdeaPad 710S-13IKB. It had Windows preinstalled. The problem is that there is no sound from the speakers, headset works fine. I have tried everything, even reinstalling Windows. Downloaded both drivers via Realtek, Lenovo official website, via Windows Device Manager. When something plays, the speakers indicator shows as on 'sound' screenshot attached. I am really lost here, can anyone please give soem advise. I read on some forums that there might be some conflict between Microsoft and Realtek driver versions. Perhaps, the directory to where the drivers are isntalled is not proper. Does anyone has any advice on this issue. I am ready for a remote session via TeamViewer or Supremo if possible as well. Best Regards, Dmitri

I recently bought a Lenovo Ideapad 310 about a month ago, shortly after installing all reccomended updates on the Lenovo companion app, including reccomended BIOS and Windows 10 updates my laptop has started getting semi random freezes. When a freeze occurs the entire system locks up, the sound makes a very short interval constant loop, and I have to preform a full reboot. It seems to happen more frequently when playing certain games (CSGO, Left 4 Dead 2) Less frequently when playing less demanding games (Starbound, Minecraft) however sometimes it feels like it can happen at any time as it has happened a few times just browsing the internet or once while idle and downloading something in the background.Sometimes I can tell when it's about to happen. In the case where the computer is about to freeze while playing CSGO I lose connection to the server, the game tell's me it's attempting to reconnect, every time I see this the computer goes into the freeze 5-10 seconds later, This morning I was fast enough to alt tab before the freeze and noticed that my laptop said it was still connected to the internet just before it then froze and I had to reboot I have no idea what could possibly be causing this but wanted to know what my options are or wether anybody else was experiencing similar constant and seemingly random freezes

Bought 310-15ABR few days ago, and i have issue with restarting this laptop. The problem is that, whenever I click "Restart" or if Windows automatically restarts (after updates), the laptop will shutdown and boot to lenovo logo screen and stay there forever. I have to click ALT CTRL DEL to reboot it again and it will then show lenovo logo and boot into windows. This happens on every restart. Essentially restart functionality is as good as shutdown. Its better to shutdowns and then click the power on button. Here is what i have discovered:- The issue disappears if i am not logged in into my windows account. So basically if i boot into windows and dont sign in, then restart, it will restart into windows and go to login screen.- The issue pops up if i am logged in into my windows account and click the restart button, no matter how long i used the laptop Here is what i have done so far:- Reset bios to default setting - Reset windows to defaut- Installed windows from scratch using bootable USB.- Flashed the latest bios - Installed and uninstalled all the lenovo drivers- Installed a new SSD replacing the hard disk The issue hasnt resolvedNeed some help ThanksRon

Hello everyone,I am using Lenovo Ideapad S405 with Windows 10 64-bit installed in it. Few hours ago when i was waking up my laptop from standby, i noticed that my display resolution had changed from 1366x768 (16:9) to 1024x768 (4:3). I went to the Device Manager and saw my display adapters (AMD Radeon HD 7450M & HD 7600G) with caution signs. I look to the properties of both drivers, and looked at the device status dialog box, it said, "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)". I have tried updating my windows, uninstalling & re-installing my display drivers, and shutting down my laptop but nothing's changed with my display. If there is anyone here using the same laptop model or knows how to solve this issue, please let me know. I will be very grateful of your help, thank you

Hello everyone, I know thta it is already many topics about accesing BIOS issues, but here I have got an Lenovo U310 laptop which is doesnt boot to the system even, so I have to change the boot priority in the BOIS setting which I cant acces. By using guides how to reflash BOIS by using a pen drive https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-U-and-S-Series-Notebooks/Bios-Recovery-For-ideapad-laptops/td-p/...I do everything by this guide, but when I try to boot from pen drive by using win_key+B or any different keys I have the same result: Flash Crisis recovery diskRemove and press any key.Ped drive is blinking each time I press any key and after 1-2 sec stops.Pen drive is made properly by giude and .wph file as bios.wph for U310 (65CN13WW.wph) copied to the pen drive with files "MINIDOS.SYS"-"PHLASH16.EXE".In additional photos I have my main problem of laptop which doesnt boot the system but shows thi messages.

We have bought some "Lenovo IdeaPad 510-15ISK" laptops for our company.4 of them are not usable anymore after following amount of time:1 - 1 day1 - 1 week2 - 4 months The laptops were not turning on anymore. We have sent them to the service center we bought from and they told us the motherboard (including chipset, etc.) is burnt because of short circuit from USB ports. They told we have used unknown brand mouse, etc. which caused the issue. Also they told us since it's power issue it's not part of their warranty so we are on our own. I've also checked for one of them in Lenovo website and there is no official waranty either. We don't accept their feedback because for all cases only USB mouse was connected to the laptop and they are from different brands (IBM, Genius, Dell) so we are not using unknown brand. We are using same mouses for other Lenovo laptops and we never had such issue. The issue is only with IdeaPad 510-15ISK models. ALso, it's not acceptable just by connecting a mouse the whole laptop get burned. There should be a fuse or some preventive items inside to not let such things happen (which in our case I suspect such items exist). Also, for all 4 cases while the issue happened we were not connecting nor disconnecting any USB device. So there should be no electric circuit issue. Anyway, I need to know if there is really a defect in 510-15ISK models. What causes this issue and what to do. At lease something which I can explain the service cen... Read more

Dear Members,I am in trouble with my  Idea Pad Z570: I bought it couple of years ago running Windows 7. During the years of usage I had no trouble at all. With Windows 10 beeing released, I upgraded and it starts to make a lot of troubles: Bluescreen directly after boot or sign in, no WiFi, ... all the known stuff. So I decided last week to downgrade to Windows 7. But now, I am even in a bigger trouble:I tried to boot the Windows 7 from DVD and it crashed into Bluescreen saying: Windows Error 0xc0000225Restarting is not helping. So, i tried to go into BIOS to boot from another device, but I do not even get to BIOS or UEFI. So, thats a kind of Deadlock: I cannot boot from Harddisk because Windows Error 0xc0000225 appears and I cannot get into BIOS & UEFI because the Windows error 0xc0000225 comes before getting to BIOS. Hope this description of my current situation is understandable and you guys have a lot of ideas how to fix it. Thanks!TheGooner
