IE11 - Webpages in some Tabs stops to load

Q: IE11 - Webpages in some Tabs stops to load

Hi All.

We have a problem in my organisation where a few users are complaining about a very annoying issue.

They said that when they're working with Internet Explorer 11, with several tabs openned, some random page stops to load completely. If we try to reload the webpage, nothing happens. Any other website in the other tabs continuing to work.

If we try to close that tab, and then open a new tab to try to reload the same website, nothing happens.

The only way, so far, to fix it is to completely close the IE11 and start a new IE11 to reload the website. This is the only way we're getting any result.

There is no event in Event Viewer and nothing related to the program in the IE11 logs.

A few users have this problem, but the most users don't.

Any idea?

Preferred Solution: IE11 - Webpages in some Tabs stops to load

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Suddenly today, IE11 stops working at load for just the Administrator user ID. The message says there is problem with the web page its trying to load. The web page is "cnn.com/#" and is the home page for this user in IE11. IE11 loads fine for the regular user which does not have admin privileges and will load the same URL with no problems. No addons for the admin user in IE11 and I can't get to the home page edit since the program won't load. Does anyone know where the start page for IE11 in W7 is stored? I've searched here and found no location. Thanks.

You can open IE's settings/options using the control panel (without starting IE).

Only just noticed this but have confirmed other PC's exhibit this same behaviour. The tabs on the top line of the browser don't match the order of the preview tabs at the bottom. As you open other sites and open and close tabs sometimes they do manage to line up and sometimes not......

Anyone else noticed this ?

I work in IT and I have a user with a problem where they cannot send webpages. Be send I mean they go into IE > File > send > page by e-mail. When they do this for the first time after they open IE and they go to the webpage they need to send, they
can send that one just fine. It will open up outlook give a description of the page in the subject line and in the main part it will show the page just fine. Now if they go to the next page they need to send they will do file > send..... and then outlook
will pop up, the description will show correctly, but the page that shows up in the main part is the one they first sent. It does not match the second page they are trying to send.
Explained in a different way, they have page 1 and page 2 they need to send, the 2 pages are different parts of the same website. The user will send page 1 and it describes page 1 in the subject line and shows page 1 in the main part. When they go to send
page 2 it describes page 2 in the subject line but in the main part it shows page 1.
I have found that this problem is only happening with 1 website, if they go to google for instance and send that page it shows google in the description and shows the google page in the main part. Also if the users sends page 1 and then closes IE, re-opens
it and goes to page 2, it will be described as page 2 in the subject line and show page 2 in the main part.

I work for a community bank using Windows 7 workstation and Internet Explorer. We run regular vulnerability scans on our workstations to make sure we are up to date and patched. On my recent scans it came back with MSXML 4.0 being past End of Life.
So I went out and downloaded the most recent version of MSXML, MSXML 6 SP3. At this point I did a mass deployment to my workstations, uninstalling MSXML 4.0 and installing MSXML 6. Since then a number of my workstation will not pull up web pages in Internet
Explorer 11. I cant think of any other reason that my workstations would have stopped pulling up webpages other than the installation of MSXML 4.0. I have tried to go back on a few and re-install MSXML 4.0 but it doesn't appear to have made any difference.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

From what I can see, this is a common problem with the Synaptics touchpad but the fixes I've found on other websites do not appear to work on my machine. As I understand it, when two-finger scrolling with my touchpad on Windows 10 (in IE11), rather than sending mouse scrollwheel  events, the Synaptics drivers actually control the scrollbar instead.  Whilst this is fine for most sites, it means that zooming doesn't work on Google Maps with the scroll gesture.  I'm also unable to scroll on webpages which have "virtual" scrollbars rather than using IE's native scrolling.  I couldn't remember an example although it appears to even affect elements on a page e.g.http://manos.malihu.gr/repository/custom-scrollbar/demo/examples/complete_examples.htmlNone of the elements scroll with a scroll gesture however if I plug in a mouse with a scrollwheel, they do scroll. Similarly, one can't scroll on this page but can with a proper mouse scrollwheelhttp://alvarotrigo.com/fullPage/  Does anyone know of any kind of fix for this as it's incredibly frustrating! Thanks in advance for any help.

So, as I said in the title, I have some apps that are a bit on the older side, and will not get upgraded and they work only in IE8 (No other browsers nothing). That was fine for Windows 7, but now when we all have Windows 10 that is a problem, since changing
Compatibility View to IE8 doesnt help, and those pages that should give me info just dont work.

Please give me any ideas how to solve this, since this is slapping me every time I open IE11.

We currently have multiple PCs running Windows 8.1 where the tabs in Internet Explorer are not showing.  You can view the tabs on the task bar but they are not displaying within IE itstelf.  The workaround I've found it if you check the box for
"Show tabs on a separate row" close IE and re-open it the tabs will then appear in IE.  If you uncheck the "Show tabs on a separate row" the tabs will display until IE is closed and then it will go back to the address bar going across
the entire IE window. Here are some of the things I've tried to resolve the issue:

I've removed IE and re-added it
I ran a system file check
Logged in as a different user and confirmed tabs are not appearing
Ran IE with no add-ons
Compared registry entries with a PC not having the issue.
I've reset IE

These PCs have been patched recently but the issue did not appear until a week and a half after patches had been applied so I don't believe that is the issue.  There was also another group of PCs patched that have had the patches about a month and a half
and not a single PC has exhibited this issue.  I've also looked into each patch and not a single one appears to have applied to IE.

I don't have an exact number of the PC that are affected but based upon the locations reporting the issue I would say there are about 50 PCs.  The easiest thing to do would be to replace the PCs but due to the quality affected it would take quite some

For the last week opening tabs in IE11 have been getting slower and slower from just clicking on favourites, links to the forum to just a plain new Google tab.
The time it now takes to open the tab can be up to two minutes whereas this main laptop of mine usually flies - no problems with WLM or Docs pics etc.

Have run sfc and chckdsk no results (fix) malwares scans and apart fro a few PUP's nothing. Have reduced the add on's to a very bare minimum and yet still that new tab is so slow.

Any ideas please??

PS Should have added posting a reply to the forum is just as tedious

Since last few weeks, I've been struggling to relieve my computer of a pesky virus that seems invisible to every scanner and removal tool I've used. It's fortunate that the symptoms only appear to manifest while browsing the web, but I can't be sure of what else might be going on beneath the surface. And because I haven't been able to remove this invader myself, I am hoping you fine folks might be able to guide me the rest of the way.To be more specific, I encounter symptoms while using Firefox, my preferred web browser. I also use IE. When I use Google to search the web, the search results appear legitimate enough on the surface, but when I click on one there's a 50% chance it will be redirected to a completely different ad site. Many times Google reports that the site I've been redirected to is known to have malware. Only in the past 2 weeks have my Google results been automatically redirected to other sites. And only in the past 2 weeks have tabs opened by themselves pointing to ad sites. Others in this forum appear to be having this problem. It all began once I downloaded a file which was being circulated on Facebook. Facebook later discovered it was an attack site and blocked access. In an attempt to remove whatever it is that's creating this behavior while web browsing, I've run tools like Malwarebyte's' Anti-Malware, Spybot - Search & Destroy, and Norton ..... Hi All posting over here as instructed from the other subforum.
I don't remember installing anything recently but am definitely infected at the moment. When I go on chrome webpages load fine. However, when I go to click any link on a webpage it loads in a new tab and the current page redirects first to urls begining with ps4xu.com and then redirects to various other spammy pages such as "re-image plus.com" and other fake anti virus and scan your computer pages, some of which have quite loud annoying noises and request I call some numbers.
I have already run a malwarebytes anti-malware scan, adwcleaner and hijack this scans which found a few things but cleaning of which has not helped. Last night I also ran a full windows defender scan which came up with a few things but has also not helped. I have checked my chrome extensions but there doesn't seem to be any new/unidentifiable extensions there either. Some of the websites the malware is loading are now being automatically blocked by Malwarebytes anti-malware, but it keeps happening every time I load any webpage... extremely infuriating.
I was reading through your forum and hoping you excellent people could advise me on which tools I need to use to identify where the infections is here?

Hi there

IE11 seems to have a strange "Feature". When you close a Web site with an active download the whole thing closes and the download disappears -- IE 11 shows no windows open.

However press CTRL+J and you'll see the download lists again. If there's no activity press PAUSE and then press RESUME and then it should continue from where it stopped.

To some this might seem obvious but I've seen people re-start a 2hr download because they thought they had lost their currently active download when they accidentally closed the web site.

After working with and opening several tabs in Internet Explorer, it will just stop working. I'll decide to open the next window in a new tab and...nothing. It will act as if the page is loading, but nothing will ever come up. I am using IE 7.

I have to start a completely new session of Internet Explorer to make it work. Then I have to copy and paste all my links from the previous tabs that I tried to load before into the new window. Once that window stops working, I have to open yet another separate instance of Internet Explorer.

Right now I have five instances of Internet Explorer working right now. This really can be an annoyance especially if I want to open a page that I feel is important to view, and this problem has been happening with me for quite some time.

Is anyone else having this problem, and does anyone know of a way I can fix this problem so that it stops happening?

Thank you,

And on other sites like this one and on my own sites as well as others it works perfect.. I cant load the app store or itunes

I can even play online fine, but for some reason I'm unable to load those sites, I've tried direct from the computer the router is plugged into, over wi-fi on my laptop and ipod touch but nothing is working, I've also tried multiple browsers

It must be my router, but i cant think of any settings on it, I used this router before and it worked fine, i only changed it cause i got a new one for free which is the one that packed in

Anyone any ideas?

I am working on a Dell Inspiron 4120 running Vista Business. The internet seems to work fine. It will load almost every url except for Facebook and Myspace. All of the firewalls are disabled. It will sometimes load the login page and then not work. Sometimes it will seem to load all of the pages for awhile and then stop working again. It is connected through a wired connection. When I connect it wirelessly it doesn't seem to ever have any problems. Could there be something wrong with the wired connection that would make it only work sometimes or am I missing something else??? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm not sure if this is the right forum but I'll post here anyway.

All of my browsers have the same problem, so I'm thinking it is either a missing plugin of some sorts, or it has to do with my computer's connection to the internet.

As stated in the topic, my browser will only load a few different web pages (I get the "Problem loading page" :connection to the server was reset while the page was loading)

Some pages that give the error screen are: YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Xbox.com, Microsoft.com

But I can load Yahoo.com, Hulu.com, Google

There are most likely more in both loadable and non-loadable, but I put some of the popular ones.

Maybe there is an update to Java or another program that I missed?

Alright. I move my computer from school to home and this problem started happening. I had no issues whatever at school. The problem is webpages like mlb.com, espn.com, nhl.com, this site, etc. Give me server not found errors. Obviously it's not the server. I am running XP pro sp2 and Firefox. What's odd is I'll go to say mlb.com and it won't load, then half an hour later it will load. Sometimes it won't load all the way though, only half of the stuff loads up.

I'm beginning to think something is messed up with my firewall but I've really got no clue. I'm pretty sure I tried turning off both my trendMicro firewall and Windows firewall and attempted to load pages but I still get the same error. The laptop I'm currently using (xp) and a second desktop (Vista) both work just fine.

Any ideas and as always, thanks in advance.

There is a problem with the page you are trying to reach and it cannot be displayed.

the sites are working for other people, so that's not the issue. i did something called "tuneup utilities 2004" on the request of someone here after i had cleared my computer of spyware, and i think that might have adjusted the settings for internet explorer. but i don't know what they were originally, and restoring them to default doesn't seem to work.

do any of you have any idea as to what's causing this and how to fix it? like i said, most websites work, but some that worked before aren't working now.

Hi all,

first post so thanks to any and all for your support.

I built a website using dreamweaver and a template (from well known company and they claim there is no issues with IE 8).

I am having trouble with IE 8 not loading some webpages in the site. There is no error per se, just a white page. I have IE 7 on another PC and it loads the same pages fine. I d/l Firefox 3 (latest version i think) and it also loads the same pages with no troubles from the same computer that has IE 8.
Looking at the code, I cannot see any difference between pages that load and those that do not.

Is anyone else having this problem? Any solutions?

Hi, I'm new here, and I have posted in several different forums already for this problem and would just like to say thanks to anyone who replies or tries to help

Anyway, I have a problem with loading certain webpages- www.google.com and www.gunbound.net. These pages used to load fairly quickly without problems but now they've stopped working for some reason. I use a wireless connection and have a firewall up and when I turned it off the pages still do not load (but it has always been up, even when the pages were able to load). I've had a friend check the loading of the pages and he had no problems so I know that the sites are not down. When I try to load the pages, they are shown as "The page cannot be displayed". I have tried to change all my security levels to low and it still does not work.

I'm not exactly an IT person so I have no idea what this does, but I've seen many people post a Hijack This log up after their post, so to save time I'll post it now just in case it comes in useful:

Hi. I'm running the lastest version of Windows Vista Home Premium and I'm using the latest version of Firefox.

I am currently having what seems to be a pretty obscure problem. Earlier today out of nowhere I started having problems loading certain webpages.

These pages will not load at all. For example, the main page of google does not work, but the firefox default homepage google quicksearch bar does. I am certain that it is not a server based problem, because I can access these websites no problem from a different machine. This problem does not seem to be linked to the browser, because both Internet Explorer and Opera are also unable to load the same pages. I tried disabling windows defender as well as the default windows firewall, but to no effect. Running firefox in safemode also had no effect, furthering my suspicions that the problem is not browser based, but some problem with a corrupt OS file.

After trying pretty much everything within my power I decided to just bite the bullet and try a system restore from three days back (I actually haven't been having this problem since before today) to see if it might fix the problem. No dice, and instead windows decided to just plain stop booting and I had to do a repair procedure with the windows vista CD to repair a file called "NETIO.SYS" with the file status: "0xc000000f", just to be able to boot to Vista again.

After the repair, windows was working again, and after a websearch for this NETIO.S... Read more

First let me say that I greatly appreciate the time anyone puts in to helping me with this problem. I had a problem with a hijacker that put a html link file in my windows directory called "secure.html". And, as hijackers do, it kept setting my homepage to something like "c:\windows\secure.html". The link just advertised that I had spyware and that I could dl their program to get rid of it. Instead I spent a few hours with adaware and spybot and HijackThis and got rid of it. But, now there are a few webpages that I can't access anymore. The only definate webpage that I know is still up that I can NEVER gain access too is www.google.com, and any link on www.ask.com, you know the first links listed at the top of the page when you search for something, bussiness links and so on. These take me to the "cannot find server" screen in IE. I have another computer in the house on the same modem that accesses google fine. BTW I'm running microsoft windows xp and IE 6x and I'm on cable but not using any sort of router or network hub, the modem has usb and ethernet plugs on it and I've got the usb going to one computer and the ethernet going to the other. I know this is frowned upon but it shouldn't stop me from viewing one or more pages. So, enough of my babbling and here is a HijackThis log for you pro's to look through. (btw i found and cleared what i saw as definate threats already with HijackThis.) I've also dumped my c... Read more

A:Certain webpages won't load

Look in the The C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC\HOSTS file (open it with notepad)

It may contain entries like: www.google.com

These will have been placed there by a virus, and prevent you reaching the site(s).

The Hosts file is a system file, so unless you enable the viewing of system files, you will not find it. It is just "Hosts" with no extension.

Download Stinger.exe from McAfee and run it.

You have only posted a portion of the HiJack This log.
Using "Save log" produces the full log in notepad. Post a full copy of that back.

I have been having this problem on my home computer (Windows XP Pro) for a couple weeks now. I am able to connect to the internet via dial-up (PeoplePC), but IE will not load any pages. I get the standard message about not being able to find page (something like that?). I have searched these forums for advise and have done the following (not in this particular order):

*Set dns #'s per Microsoft's help pages
*Loaded and ran SpywareBlaster, SpywareGaurd, Kill2Me, HijackThis, CWShredder
*Have also been running AdAware for almost a month everytime I log on. Ran it with the setting and tweaks mentioned in previous threads.
*Ran Norton AV (no viruses found)
*Dumped all Temp, Temp Internet Files, Cookies & History
*Cleared add/remove program files of suspicious looking programs.
*Made sure my activex settings are either disabled or prompt

When I try to do a window update, of course the page will not load.
I get pop-ups, but they do not load either (almost amusing). I can see that most of them start with the url look2me (even after running kill2me).
I know I don't have the firewall up, but my isp tech told me on the phone to unclick it when she was helping me with my connection.

Here is my HijackThis log:

Hi All

I've been trying to load webpages, but only get an error message. I think someone had used a torrent site to download as Ihave recently found and removed some torrent links. Anyway, when I switch the computer off, it does download the automatic windows updates. This seems to be working OK.

How can I repair this please. I can't access any sites to download software, so if I'm advised to do this, it will take a little longer as I will have to download at a friends, then bring back and run on mine.

Any help would be appreciated.

theruffneck - try uninstalling the NIC and re-installing it with updated drivers if possible. I wasn't able to find a solution to my issue and we just retired that laptop (it was over 5 years old anyways).

Really not sure what this can be. Pretty much randomly i cannot load any webpages anymore, tried numerous different ones, but i am still connected to the internet, and most of the time able to talk to friends on Ventrilo , but sometimes it does cut out. Also i usually just do a quick ipconfig/release ,,, ipconfig/renew and it fixes it immediately but then it will go off again just randomly. Any help appreciated.

A:Randomly Cannot Load Webpages

So is only web pages, or general connectivity issues? If renewing IP helps, try setting up static one.

i'm using firefox right now, and it is my default browser, but i still "need" IE for M$update, and for my Navy stuff, so i need to keep it working, but recently when i went and used it, the standard window opened and i typed in the link i wanted, but instead of going to the site, it closed the window and up came a "file download" box that was then overlaid with a verification of file download box.this box has the options of "open", "save", cancel" and "more info"... if i click "open" it opens FF and tried to display the site as if it were in my IE temp files folder on my HDD. if hit "save" it opens a standard "save as" box, and i can save the file as an .htm file. cancel does just that. kills it all. and the "more info" just opens up the M$ explorer help file, which is useless for the problem...

if i look at the saved file in note tab pro, i see that it is saving the main page of the website i was trying to get, but it adds in a javascript section that i "know" is not on the page, because it's my own website homepage and i use strictly html, no java, no nothin'g... soo.. i think i've had my IE hijacked / or redirected, whatever, but i am unable to figure out how to get rid of it by myself.

Good Day Everyone, I am stuck on a problem. The problem is this, I can not bring any web pages up on the internet. I have tried IE 6.01 and FireFox. It is the same for the modem as the Network Card. I have tried 2 different Modems and 3 network cards. Here is what else I have tried.

Reinstalling Win 98 SE over the problem ver of 98
Reinstalled All network componets
Scan for Viruses
Checked for Proxy settings

It all started after some spyware/adware was removed. I can connect to the office network and look at the user folders and print to the network printer but I can not bring any web pages up. I get the error that the page can not be displayed. I am able to ping to the local network and not the internet. I have checked my TCP/IP setting and checked DNS and WINS but still no luck. I am unable to format that drive because there is some special CAD software on there and the branch who sent me the computer can not find the disks. I have tried everything that I can think of. And I do not have the option of formatting. I would love to do that. We do not want to upgrade the OS to Win ME, 2000, or XP. Any other ideas on what do to would be great.

A:Unable to load webpages...

It would be helpful if you would post a log for us so we can make sure all of the malware is gone.

Create a permanent folder on your hard drive like c:\program files\hjt.
Download Hijackthis and save it to that folder.

Double click on Hijackthis.exe then click on the "Scan" button, then click on "Save Log".

Copy and paste it back here and someone will be happy to review it.

Don't make any changes until instructed to do so.

3 computers on home network, 1 wired to D Link router and 2 wireless, everything worked fine until 2 days ago, certain web pages will not load on any of the 3 computers, 1 computer has vista, 2 have W7, downloaded firefox, certain webpages still will not load, restarted both router and cable modem, no change

Norton antivirus and firewall on all computers

A:Webpages won't load on any of 3 computers

Hard-wire one computer straight to the modem, bypassing router and see, if it works. If not, temporarily uninstall Norton, using Norton Removal Tool: http://service1.symantec.com/Support/tsgen...005033108162039 and see what happens.

Some web pages load perfectly (like this one sevenforums.com) while others do not (harborfreight.com). The ones that don't work either timeout or load without images (see attached). I've run CCleaner, tried running a cmd prompt (sfc scannow), rebooted the router (Netgear R6300v1) and still no dice. Any ideas? Thanks for the help! Oh other devices on the network are fine and pages that do load do so quickly.

Webpages take forever to load. Sometimes they don't load at all. All webpages are this way not just some. Either they just set there saying they are waiting. Or it says done but the screen is white. Or after hours it loads but not completely. Or I get the message that ie cannot open the webpage. You just recently fixed a DNS hijacker with combofix. I have ran antivirus and antispyware and antimalware. The machine seems clean. Please help.

I just built a PC for my boss with Windows 8x64 and he is running into a major issue. No matter what web browser he tries to use (internet explorer, firefox, chrome) he can never load webpages. They constantly time out after attempting to load for several minutes.

He definitely has access to the internet because he can still send and receive emails, transfer files on Dropbox, and run remote access software. I even pinged a couple websites in DOS and his latency is just fine.

I just recently built another computer with the exact same components but installed Windows 7 and there were no problems so this is definitely a Windows 8 issue.

What is causing his computer to not load webpages?

A:Web-browser will not load webpages

This is a fairly typical problem and usually has to do with winsock or the TCP/IP stack requiring a reset.

Copy/paste the following two commands, into an elevated command prompt one at a time, hit enter after each one then reboot your machine. Test to see if your browsers now function as they should.

netsh winsock reset catalog (reset winsock entries)

netsh int ip reset reset.log hit (reset TCP/IP stack)
