Headphones neither working nor detected Lenovo Ideapad 110-17IKB (80VK) Win10

Q: Headphones neither working nor detected Lenovo Ideapad 110-17IKB (80VK) Win10

Hello, I've purchased the laptop two months ago, did a clean install of Win10 and discovered that the device does not detect headphones.I thought it'd be a minor issue but turns out the headphones, if disconnected and then reconnected, don't work the second time. The speakers turn off while they're plugged in so it's double odd. Headphones work on different devices perfectly without any problems. They're Panasonic. They have two black bars on the jack.Laptop says the Audio driver is installed and updated - Realtek High Definition Audio 10.0.15063.502I've already tried to send it over to Lenovo under warranty to fix it but they decided the laptop works correctly. I'm honestly out of ideas and would love any help.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Since I choose my ideapad for its elegant and refined design, the hideously embarassing boot logo that popped up at start up came as a really bad surprise. So far, I can't really think of coping with that for the entire life cycle of my PC. I'm therefore looking for a way of replacing it with a much nicer alternative Lenovo logo, any other one would look much better...  This issue has been discussed already for the Thinkpad and other Lenovo notebooks, but none of the proposed solutions seem to be compatible with the Ideapad serie and they all sound far too industrious. Can someone let us know of a step-by-step method of achieving this on an Ideapad 320 without having to dismantle the whole PC?     Thanks for your help.

I've bought the Lenovo IdeaPad shown in the title 3 days ago. I chose the MsDos version and installed a clean Windows 10 Home edition on it. I downloaded all the drivers from the Support page for this specific model.I'm having an issue where all usb devices disconnect and reconnect at intervals of 30 minutes to 1 hour. This wouldn't be as annoying if one of them wasn't an external drive and accessing it when it happens could cause all sorts of problems.I've tried changing the Usb Device policy in the Power Settings with no success. Any help would be appreciated

I ran the Lenovo Solution Center program on my Lenovo Ideapad 320-17IKB model 80 XM and it informs me of the following: Total memory = 8 GBMaximum Supported Memory = 32 GB Now, that's by Lenovo so I trust it.  I recognize that there are 4 GB of memory soldered in and there is a card with 4 GB of "replaceable" DDR4 memory installed. My question is whether I can install a 32 GB "replaceable" type DDR4 RAM card within?  OR whether that exceeds the "maximum supported memory" specification?  I do not know of amy 28 GB DDR4 RAM cars so I'm a bit confused?   I guess it boils down to what "Maximum Supported Memory" means?  Does it mean maximum supported "replaceable" memory?   PS-See image attached for Lenovo Solution Center info.

Hi, I recently received an Ideapad 700 that came with 8gb of RAM and a 1TB 5400rpm HDD with Win10 installed on it.  Because 5400rpm is rather slow, I purchased a 128GB M.2 SSD and installed it correctly.  The computer can see it and recognize it. My issue is I am having trouble transferring Win10 from the HDD to the SSD and getting it to boot from the SSD.  It seems it just defaults to the HDD and I am not sure where I am going wrong.  Currently I have wiped the SSD and am starting from square 1. Could anyone please help me out.  I don't want to break my wife's laptop before I get a chance to give it to her.  thanks!

Hi there, First of all, please excuse my bad english. I recently purchased a Lenovo Ideapad 710S Plus 13 IKB. Enjoyed it since yesterday as it became to shut down randomly. Sometimes after 2 minutes, sometimes after 20 minutes. I noticed it only happens when it's running on battery.I've read other threads but none of them helped me out. Already tried to turn off fast boot, nothing changed. Also tried to update BIOS but I got an error message saying I'm not plugged in on AC (even if I am). This situation is really getting me crazy, my laptop is only 1 month old. Thanks for your help.

Will there be a problem?I feel a little pressure on the laptop hardware. Is it better to go back to the previous version? It's also important to add that all drivers are safe and fully installed without problems (even the brightness problem does not exist for me)

The FPS overall is much worse and it freezes every now and then. The OS as well doesn't perform as I would expect it to with the newest i5 and DDR4 RAM. It's comparable to my old, 2nd-gen i3 + DDR3, 6-year old config. All the drivers are up to date and according to the Lenovo Vantage app my PC is just fine. What to do?Thanks in advance.

I've tried to boot in Safe mode, it works!! but not in normal mode!!So, what I did was to enter in Safe mode and disable the Intel Graphics 520 Driver from device manager (i don't remember the exact name). The problem cames up the exact moment when i tried to enable the graphic driver from pc device manager ,the screen turned black with only cursor. So I think the main problem is the incompatibility of the win10 and the intel graphics driver. My current version of intel HD graphic 520 driver is 21.20.16.4550, driver date 11/11/2016. Please, do you have any solutions??? ps. sorry for any mistake in the text, english is not my native language.  thank you in advance

If someone can please help me with this. the sound on my laptop is not working when I plug my headphones in the headphone jack. My laptop is working perfectly fine, the speakers on the laptop also work perfectly fine. The problem is when I plug in my headphones (apple earphones, the regular ones that come with the iPhone) there's no sound. The earphones work perfectly as I've tried them on other devices. Maybe this problem is related to a software update (my computer is set to automatically update any windows software) because it just happened in the past 3-4 days, not exactly sure when it started. Does anyone else have the same problem on a similar device? Laptop is an Ideapad y700, bought it in November. Hello there, I ran into some trouble with my brandnew Lenovo Notebook. I had some trouble running Lenovo Service Bridge, and Lenovo Vantage pushed me immediatly to a firmware update. Somehow the SATA-controller was switched from AHCI to Intel RST Premium, I checked the BIOS when I bought this Notebook and it was set to AHCI by default. I even loaded the default settings before running the firmware update. Well, Lenovo repaired my Notebook for free, new HDD and new Motherboard the repair protocol sais, no charge. So I got the Notebook back in a week, everything okay I guess, but the SATA-controller was set to Intel RST Premium. So I let Windows restart in Safemode and switched the controller to AHCI, started up Windows and restart it up into normal mode. There is only 1 HDD on this Notebook, so absolutely no reason to set the SATA-controller to RAID-mode. Unless you're planning to use Bitlocker, because Bitlocker in RAID-mode is or was not supported. According to the Intel website Bitlocker is supported using Intel Optane memorymodules (formerly knows as Rapid Start or Smart Response Technology) when you set an HDD password. So I switched the SATA controller to AHCI, set BIOS Masterpassword, no Userpassword because I'm the only user, and the set HDD Master- and Userpassword. I couldn't set only the Masterpassword without a Userpassword according to the BIOS. My question is, everything seems to be working except some smaller issues I hope, do I have to ... Read more

A few days ago I tried to use my internal webcam, and it would work for a few minutes via Google Hangouts and then freeze. On Skype, it would be detected for a second, then make a sound as if I am unplugging a device (e.g. disabling a driver), and reconnect. Lastly, I reinstalled CyberLink YouCam 3, and now the cam isn't detected at all. Anybody have any ideas as to what it could be?

P.S. If it's a driver issue, does anyone know where one is? I can't find one on the blasted Lenovo site anywhere!

Thanks in advance everyone!

A:Lenovo IdeaPad Y460: Webcam is not detected

Theres 2 different sites for lenovo computers. Look for the one that has the drivers for the different models of ideapad laptops. It might be listed under support drivers and downloads. The other site is for the older ibm computers and thinkpads. It might be listed under laptop integrated webcam or something close to that.Im going to guess that yours came either with windows xp or vista. i had a y530 ideapad that came with vista so there should be the correct drivers for it.

I'm having this problem for months now. The USB headphones I have at home work fine, but trying to plug anything into the traditional audio port doesn't register (and audio just continues out of the laptop speakers). I tried suggestions like rebooting; no change. I have Windows 10. Checking the audio drivers I only have the most up-to-date Realtek Driver (Realtek Semiconductor Corp, Driver date: 8/1/2017, Driver version: 6.0.1.8224), and there are no other drivers listed (someone had suggested disabling an Intel audio driver, but I don't have that). Tried Windows update and driver update and it's all "up-to-date".  Looking at my BIOS version using msinfo32, it's listed as LENOVO N1EET73W (1.46), 9/28/2017. I only have this issue on the laptop itself when I am using it without a docking station. I do have a docking station for my P50, but its audio works fine with its audio port. Anyone having this issue / have any fixes?

Hello everybody. I can't get my laptop operate at CPU turbo frequency any more! I got my Z710 with windows 8.1 preloaded. The laptop came with Intel's i7 4710 MQ CPU (2.5 GHz base freq, 3.5 GHz max turbo freq) and I could let the processor go up to the turbo frequency using lenovo's pre-installed energy manager software. I then upgraded my OS to windows 10 through microsoft update, keeping the energy manager which was compatible with the new version of windows and everything kept working OK. With the energy manager's high performance option, CPU single core frequency went up to 3.49 GHz (tested with CPU-Z and Si Sandra). However, after getting a new SSD I did a clean install of windows 10 and tried to do the same thing with windows built-in power management (since lenovo doesn't provide a power manager for windows 10 as far as I know) and it doesn't work. With the "High Perdormance" option and minimum processor state = maximum processor state = 100%, the speed never goes over 2.5 GHz. Is there some extra configuration I need to make or do I need extra software like intel's XTU or something like that?Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I recently upgraded the Storage with a WD green 120 GB M.2 SSD. Post upgradation, i installed Windows 7 into the new Drive. After dealing with several error messages and trying all workarounds the system was able to boot and became a working machine again.  I accidentally formatted the eMMC i.e. previously my C: drive and faced a lot of difficulty in making it work. However happy that finally the system is back to its normal working condition. The only problem i am facing now is, i am not able to see the 32GB eMMC card in Disk Management or in MY Computer. Though the same is visible in Advanced Troubleshooting during pre-boot (Repair your system Option) . Though the volume is visible and is empty there, its not visible inside windows explorer after windows starts. Though it doesnt affect the system's performance now, i would like to use the 32GB memory. I tried looking for the driver but not didnt find any. I am currently using Win 7 Enterprise. My next attempt would be to upgrade to Windows 10 and see if that resolves the issue.  Please Help !

Greetings! I'm currently working on reinstalling win on my cousin's y580 with following specs:Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-3110M CPU @ 2.40GHz8GB RAMGEFORCE GTX 660M Everything went smoothly until the part where I want to install USB 3.0 drivers (responsible for 2x3.0 USB and 2.0 USB port). I tried everything from installing win7 drivers, uninstalling and reinstalling them with Windows Update to forcing INTEL drivers intalation. So far no luck. Browsing the forum I happened to find the topic: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-P-Y-and-Z-series/USB-3-0-Ports-Not-Working-Y580/m-p/3457050#M149... , where the guy assumes that motherboard is broken cause he bought it with "broken USB ports". That is not the case, ports were working just fine on win8 until the moment win10 was introduced. In the device manager the driver shows the error 10. I also came for advice to my friend using the same notebook with better specs(i7) and they are working fine for him. So my question finally is: have anyone solved this problem for the given spec already and/or is it the case of the 64bit system(not fully supported with those specs)? I am frankly out of ideas rn. Cheers, Hubert

I have been chasing threads trying to find solutions to this.  Found a clue, was directed to the power management driver thread as a possible solution, was told it was not as I was on Windows 10 and was told to start a new thread.  So here it is.Very frustrating as none of my other brands of laptops have issues wth actual buttons working after an update....however Lenovos do.  Here is the situation that occurred after most likely a Windows 10 update. However I cannot be sure it was not a Lenovo update or a Lenovo update hidden in a windows 10 udpate.  All I know is my volume buttons don't work correctly now.  Some specifics.... Holding the function key and hitting escape toggles the fn behaviour. However the light on the mute button never goes off although it does mute and Un mute the volume. It also brings up the onscreen volume display which you can touch and change volume crudely. However while the mute button toggles muting the volume....Although the light stays on....the volume up and down buttons also mute and unmute vs. raising and lowering volume!!!I saw the comment that in windows 10 these buttons are controlled by windows. However not sure why only lenovo has issues with their functions keys after oem or Windows updates. Thanks for any help.BJBBJB

Hello!I am new to this community, so if I post somewhere where I?m not supposed to, or do anything else, please forgive me.???????Here is my problem. One day I was just playing on my laptop (Minecraft), then I just turned off my laptop and turned it off. Next day start use my laptop start game and it was very laggy. I checked my graphics settings and at the bottom it said ?Intel HD Graphics?. So of course I closed Minecraft went to NVidia panel to put Minecraft as a program that needs to use NVidia GPU and the panel said to me:?NVidia panel could not start; No NVidia GPU detected? or something like that.I tried everything that I found online: reinstalling drivers for GPU (deleted drivers, when installing could not install because I have no NVidia GPU), holding down my power button for a minute with no battery and charger, and even tried OneKey Recovery (reinstalled Windows completely) nothing helped.Anyone who knows what?s going on with my laptop please help. I don?t want to play games with Intel HD Graphics By the way I have the model with 4GB of RAM (model 20091)Thank you to anyone who read this post.

Also, in the Device Manager there is no NVidia GPU. Optimus switch doesn?t work, the LED beside it doesn?t work too.

Hello, i powered up my ideapad today which has been asleep for a few weeks and the keyboard doesnt type anymore, even an external keyboard plugged into a USB port didnt work, only the on screen keyboard allowed me to do anything.
I have tried rebooting, checking the drivers ect, even googling.
Im not sure where to go from here, im a bit technical but not great on this stuff.
Any help is appreciated, thanks.
