I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Replacement backlit keyboard part number T460s

Welcome to the forum!

You can find the part list in this document: click me!

Keyboard list starts on page 5, although the backlit models start on page 6. I'm not so sure which one will be the Chilean one, I guess "ES" is for Spanish layouts, like this example: "TH-KBD,ES,CHY,BL"

I hope this helps!

Hi all.
The keyboard that I now have on my Studio 1555 has no backlight and the function keys have the media key symbols shown more prominently than the function key symbols (i.e. F1, F2 etc are printed very small in blue on the top right-hand side of each key cap).
I'd like to buy a new backlit keyboard with the function keys symbols shown more prominently than the media key symbols (I am already aware that there is a setting in the bios to switch between these two alternatives).
I've already seen the backlit D344C / 0D344C but someone that I've spoken to says that the eject key won't work on a Studio 1555 since it is "not compatible".Does anyone know if Dell make/made a (UK) keyboard for the Studio 1555 which has both a backlight AND the function key symbols shown on the function keys? If so, what is its part number?
Many thanks, Dave

A:Part number for Studio 1555 backlit (UK) keyboard with function key symbols

I dont have a T460s but I dont think that the middle trackpad button lights up.  Also I found a review on line from mobile tech review below.  Right around 7 minutes and 2 seconds the reviewer turns on the backlight.  The middle button does not light up.  It looks just the same as my T490..

I have recently bought a T460s ThinkPad and I would like to know if its keyboard is backlit. I tried to turn it on using Fn+Space Bar but it did not work. The user guide merely says that backlit keyboards are present on selected models. My model number is 20fa000qbr. Thanks!

A:T460s - How do I know if my keyboard is backlit?

Does your space bar have a small white cartoon of a lamp on its left edge? That would indicate an illuminated keyboard. If not it probably is not.

Hi all,  I recently purchased a T460s with some upgrades on the specifications (RAM 16 GB, GPU GeForce 930M and etc.). The initial operating system was set to Windows 7, so I upgraded to Windows 10 64 bit. I manually downloaded all the drivers required for this laptop and windows 10. While everything else runs pretty well, the keyboard backlight does not seem to work. I haven't checked if the backlight works on the previous operating system, so I am unsure if the problem is actually from the hardwares or if the OS was updated wrong. I am pretty sure that this model supports the keyboard backlit function since the space bar has that little image on the left side that (I'm guessing) indicates the function of backlit keyboards.  I'm wondering if there are actual drivers that I must intall prior to pressing the (Fn+Spacebar) keys to turn on the backlight, or if there is a problem with my computer. If it's the case of the latter, I am thinking about resetting my laptop (reinstalling windows 10). Being aware of how long it takes to download and install all the necessary components, once I do, is there any method of backing up the computer and after the reset just using that backup to go back to the original state where I have all my programs and data?  Thanks.

Hi! I've got Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13 Silver (https://www.alza.cz/EN/lenovo-ideapad-yoga-13-silver-d375124.htm), and while I am quite content with the device, my keyboard stopped working. I was wondering whether any of you might know and suggest an online reseller (official or otherwise), where I could get hold of a replacement keyboard. Now, I suppose backlit keyboard versions of newer Yoga laptops will not work I guess, will they? From what I have read Yoga 13 Silver does not have the slot required for backlit, but aside that, will the keyboard function and will it fit (dimension-wise)? If so, what is the voltage and current required? Would soldering a small battery to the backlit cable be a good idea (I accept the fact that I wouldn't be able to regulate it)? Thank you in advance!ck

I have an X250 machine type 20CL and want to change the existing Swedish non-backlit keyboard for a UK backlit keyboard. On the Lenovo support website, I put in the serial number of my X250 and went to the Parts and Accessories page where it says the original part number for my Swedish keyboard is CS13X,SE,CHY 04Y0926 or equivalent part number CS13X,SE,CHY 04Y0964. The problem is that whilst looking for UK backlit keyboards, some sellers list by part number (e.g beginning 04) and others list by machine type (e.g beginning 20CL00). Some sellers also say don't order by part number as the same number is used for different layouts and they have more than one part number listed for the same keyboard. All very confusing! Should I be using part number or machine type to buy an X250 UK backlit keyboard and what is the number for the part?

My question is about the back lit strip.
My old keyboard; had a ribben cable coming out to LED light node and additional black plastic wraping on the backside of keyboard.
I broke the ribben from the old keyboard ( no not the regular ribben cable )
I reconnected the new keyboard which; did not have led lights or black plastic
I go into keyboard on control pannel and it says my keyboard is connected (1 to usb & 2 to the computers port Standard P/S2 keyboard& is working fine

Does my laptop need to have the led circuit connected?
is it a loop to the keyboard ribben ( which i have connected)

I have talked to someone who believes this is for led(s) and all that is uncommon on non-backlit keyboards and should not be necessary for the keyboard to work and we believe its only lighting.

Should i order a plastic led light strip and stick it to my new keyboard to match the original

I bought a backlit keyboard for my p50 from an online reseller (part# SN20K85143/ FRU 00PA317) because I thought having a backlit keyboard would be nice, and the price was good second hand (looks like new, seller said he prefered non lit version hence sale). I didn't have the time to replace the keyboard and it got left for a few months in the box, you know how it is sometimes ! So I installed the keyboard today (finally) and everything went fine. Boot into the OS and everything looks grand. Backlights work, function options work. I then do a quick keyboard test in note pad and I discover that some keys do not work. Specifically [T,Y,P,[,], and delete keys, also Up, down arrows) . I reseated the connector ribbons to check if the problem was there, same issue on reboot. I put back my original keyboard and that worked fine (using it now), so I hadn't damaged the connectors on the logic board. I wonder if thier is some mapping incompatability ? I couldn't find a similar issue on the forum. Helpful suggestions please ? ty

Hi,
I have purchased a Dell Inspiron 5567 and wish to upgrade the keyboard to a Backlit one. The keyboard I have bought is compatible with the laptop, and the laptop also has the connector on the Mainboard for the backlight flex cable. The problem is that the present keyboard does not seem to come off. It is under the Palmrest and secured from the back with a sheet metal which is moulded into the body of the laptop. I have contacted some people and they said that in order for the keyboard to come out I would have to break these seals/moulds. Is this recommended or should I just stick to the normal non-backlit keyboard the laptop came with? I am also concerned about voiding the warranty if I do this modification. Thanks in advance,Alex.

Hi, everyone. I would really appreciate any help on this to retain the maximum usage of my X240. The special alternate functions of F1, F2 and F3 keys are not completely functioning. I recently replaced my keyboard recently to a backlit one, only to find out that the alternate special functions of F1, F2 and F3 keys (mute, volume down and volume up) are not working completely. The funny thing is that the indicator lights up when the computer is freshly booted and EVEN DOES WORK for the first few minutes, BUT malfunctions after a few minutes. What's weird is that the NORMAL functions of F1, F2 and F3 keys are STILL WORKING despite the malfunction of the alternate special functions. To illustrate, here's a sample scenario: 0-~2 minutes: computer powers up; desktop is shown. keys function as they should, including special functions of F1, F2 and F3 (mute, volume down, volume up). Keylight indicator in F1 (mute indicator) working. 3 minutes and beyond: standard function of F1, F2 and F3 continues to function, but the special functions DOES NOT work anymore. Keylight indicator in F1 (mute indicator) is not working anymore. This happens everytime I boot. I tried to search forums for solutions, but I haven't found a solution yet. While this does not necessarily ruin the whole typing experience for me, it does cause a slight annoyance, especially with the fact that I cannot change the volume without manually going to the controls myself.  C... They'll generally charge for a repair estimate and then apply the charge to the cost of the repair.    In the US, a keyboard replacement is a flat $149 -- the keyboard itself is likely under $50 and is a user-replaceable part.

Hello,
I'm looking for the correct part number for a replacement keyboard(US style) for my laptop.
Product Name: G4S61UT
Description: HP 350 G1 NOTEBOOK PC
[personal information removed]

I checked the Part Surfer website and I am getting 758027-001. I ordered that keyboard but it's a few millimeters too short on each side.
I looked around the web and seeing that there are different version of this keyboard(the distrance from the edge to the nearest key):
- 0.2mm side edges and 0.5mm vertical edges
and
- 0.4mm side edges and 0.7mm vertical edges

My question is what is the replacement part number for the US style keyboard with wider side margins?

Thank you.

You can start here.  http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=HP+dv7+key+replacement&_sacat...  If you plug in your specific model number on ebay you may get a closer match. There are a few different kinds, keep in mind it may be easier to buy a new keyboard, most are only around 15 to 20 bucks.  This guy seems to offer the best selection.  http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-DV7-BRONZE-COFFEE-Keyboard-Key-Replacement-Fix-/160473690639?pt=PCA_Mice_...

Hi, I have a new Elitebook 820 G3 which I am surprised came without backlit keyboard which I thought is standard on this model. Can I upgrade it now or is there some extra chip missing and it will never work? Is it just keyboard that needs to be replaced? I know there is an extra connector for backlit and I am not sure if my laptop has it build in (the connector). Thank you very much in advance for any help/suggestions. Regards, Radek
