Projector Zoom

Q: Projector Zoom

We have a computer with a dual vga video card (nvidia). One going to monitor, and the other going to projector. It works fine, except the projector is mounted to the ceiling and cannot be easily moved, and we want the image a little smaller to fit within the border of a smart board. The projector is already zoomed out all the way. Are there any software solutions available that might be able to zoom? Thanks.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Howdy, my brother! This computer is running XP Home SP2 on an Intel Core Duo HP Media Center - but it stopped has booting outside of Safe Mode. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/sty...fault/wacko.gifI allowed a computer novice friend who had been accessing his Yahoo!Mail acct from a public motel computer where he contracted a virus - without cautioning me - to access his mail from my PC. He says the virus on his Y!Mail is hardware independent - and modeled the behavior he found at the motel - i.e. when he attempts to write a new email or forward one, a script inserts nuisance text in that message. After he experienced that on my pc, web browser windows now run a script which hijacks the Zoom-in / Zoom out control and locks-up at either the zoom in or out (out is worse) because you only see a corner of the raster.I ran Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, AdAware, and my installed Avira AntiVir Guard - none of which detected anything but cookies. I installed some new camcorder software which rebooted the system. But after the Windows start-up screen, the screen just goes BLACK and the system is unresponsive. I booted in Safe Mode with Networking, downloaded and ran HijackThis to get log. I ran Dr.WebCureIt - which detected nothing in this mode. I have timely news video for CNN iReports Independence Day coverage which I seek to transfer from my camcorder to edit on this tower - if you would please help me get it back working again. I posted in a previous thread about the Aaxa Tech L1v2 being used as a MS Office Projector, and it really caught my attention! I ended up getting one and thought I would share with everyone a full review!
I am what some call a tech connoisseur. I always like to get my hands on the newest tech products, ranging from cell phones to projectors. Today’s product to go under the microscope is Aaxa Tech’s L1v2. The L1v2 is the second generation of the laser pico projector line. The most prominent features of the L1v2 are the improved performance, better heat dissipation, a new modern look, and most importantly a much much better price point, $399!

My expectations for this product were high as it is a second generation product. Taking it out of the box, I was immediately amazed the size and weight of the L1v2. The dimensions are 4.2”x2.1”x1.2” and weighs only 170 grams with the battery! To put this in perspective, it’s almost the equivalent of the HTC 8525, which isn’t bad at all. The box includes: the unit itself, AC adapter, A/V cable, VGA cable, and tripod clip (no tripod unfortunately). The Iphone/Ipod/Ipad adapter is sold separately unfortunately. The L1v2 is made from what seems to be durable plastic, meaning it could easily go in to your briefcase without much concern. The black matte finish gives it a smooth exterior with little chance of finger prints or smudges. The buttons are a decent size and aren... Read more

I am using Windows 8.1 64 bit (6.3, Build 9600) in my laptop (Lenovo Y510P). When I connect the VGA Port of my laptop to a projector and choose the duplicate screen option (Fn+F3 in my laptop), the display projected on the (exterior) screen starts flickering wildly. At the same time the display on my laptop screen is stable (the resolution changes, but apart from that it's okay). I have tried it with four different cords (and projectors), so I suppose that it may not be an issue with the display cord(s). My laptop is relatively new (still covered under warranty) and this issue started with my laptop since the first time I tried to connect the VGA port to a projecter. Is this a hardware issue with the VGA port of my laptop or is there a possibility that it may be a software (driver) issue also? Any help would be much appreciated!

On my laptop I press the fn key and then there's one of the f keys that switch from the laptop screen to the external monitor and then both as you toggle through. On my main computer, I'm having a problem with it not sending the signal to the monitor which is connected through an HDMI cable as well. I have to unplud the connector and plug it back in so that it detects the connection again. It works then, but I haven't figured out what's causing it yet.

Hey guys,

Any help would be appreciate - I'm looking to purchase a micro projector - the AAXA M1 micro projector to be exact. This projector uses a USB to Projector connection to allow the images to be projected through the projector. It says that it uses drivers to do this, but I called AAXA and they said that Windows 7 is currently officially supported - that it may work but they can't make any guarantees.

Has anyone ever heard of a USB to Projector type of projector before? Anyone try the AAXA M1 on Windows 7? The projector looks really cool and is cheap ($299) but I want to make sure it works first...

Q: Zoom

Hi everybody

I fell asleep for a couple hours doing homework last night on my computer. When I woke up, everything on my computer is small, almost like it is zoomed out. This includes the desktop, google chrome, the mouse the startup page etc.

I have tried changing the zoom, which hasn't worked, and also going into display settings, where my zoom is at 100% and my resolution is at 3840x2160, however it is not letting me change the resolution.

The computer is a Lenovo Flex 5 running Windows 10

Thanks in Advance

I am not sure what this is called, but we've all seen this on TV (especially on shows like 20/20) where they take a regular picture...and as the picture is zoomed in, the subject of the photo is almost 3d, standing out from the background. How is this done? Is there a tutorial online anywhere?
I like creating photo slideshows and being able to do this would be nice...thanks!!

A:3d zoom? How?

Can't give you a step by step for a particular program, but basically you would start by duplicating the image, then cutting out the main subject.

So you have the original image on the bottom layer, and the cut-out subject on the top layer. If you do nothing else, no one would know that there are two layers, because they are identical except for the missing background in the top layer.

Apply the zoom-blur effect to the bottom layer. Now pretty much anything you do to the cut-out subject on the top layer will make it seem to pop out of the background. Lighten it. Enlarge it a bit. Add a subtle drop shadow. That's what I did to the still image attached. Because its visual properties are now different from the original image in the bottom layer, it'll just jump out at you, and it doesn't take much.

In video you can push in slowly on the cut-out subject, which is I think what they do on the tv programs.

Now this is really, really, really annoying. Default Internet zoom setting is 100% which makes the screen way too small to see. As a result I have to set the zoom at 200%. Well, up until recently I've had no trouble with my new computer. After setting the zoom to 200% it's stayed that way. Now though it's taken to going back to default every 5 frickin' minutes! I had a previous Win7 computer that did exactly the same thing, it kept on resetting to default. Drove me absolutely nuts! Once every so often I can put up with, but not all the time!!!! Can anyone tell me what's up and how to fix it before I completely lose it!

First of all - Welcome to BC !
Can you give some details of these computers - make, model and so on - it gives us something to go on.
When you say 'the bottom of the page', do you mean the task bar on the desktop, or at the bottom inside one application or another?  I am not familiar with a zoom control on the task bar but a lot of applications, from image viewers through graphics software to MS Office, have a zoom function. But this almost always uniformly expands or shrinks the complete page, text and everything included. And, more to the point, the zoom control goes wherever the designer of the software decided to put it.
