my laptop gets pretty hot so i installed the app speed fan to see the temperature attached is the snapshot. Is this ok or is it something that i should be worried about?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

Hi all,I recently bought the lenovo 710 14ikb, the i7 version. Overall very pleased with the look, feel and performance of the laptop.  As many i did notice the excessive cooling and noise coming from the fan, in both idle state and when performing simple tasks such as photo viewing or opening multiple windows. I tried updating the BIOS, didn't help( and can't find the advanced bios settings activation). I installed NBFS and this does help by manually controlling the fan speed not to go in full activity at the low BIOS set temperatures (at approx 50 degrees celsius). Now that I have installed the fans, I keep an active eye on the cpu temperature through the monitoring icon provided by the NBFS tool and am concerned about the temp fluctuations.  When starting the laptop, it boots ( plugged) at 35 degrees, shooting up to 60 degrees when activating all apps etc, then drops to an idle between 38 and 45 degrees. However any activity that requires a heavier load ( opening photoviewer/instagram) and multiple windows creates these spikes of temperatures rising up to 62 - 72 degrees celsius after which they come back down again.  What's your experience with the cpu temp spikes with the 710? Are more users experiencing these temp spikes? I know it's relatively oke up to 100 degrees, and I am going to stress test the cpu, but it feels rather unstable.

it Update: Installed the second BIOS update that was mentioned on the forum. Now with NBFC on read only status the fan indeed is not as active, so it appears Lenovo has adjusted the fan control on the temperatures.  However, with the laptop in high performance mode , i opened Opera browser with youtube and three other windows and the temperatures are increasing to 75-83 degrees celsius.  I believe we should be able to use the laptop at optimum settings without experiencing these unhealthy cpu temps. Could it simply be subpar quality of the fans used, the kaby lake cpu quality or is this a defect?

Hi there! I've had my Yoga for about 2 years now, and recently updated it when Lenovo Settings prompted me to download Lenovo Vantage instead (probably about.... two weeks ago or so?).  Since I downloaded Vantage, though, the color temperature of my screen keeps changing. Sometimes it has more of a blue tone, and other times it goes ridiculously yellow. It's not happening in response to changes in lighting (it's happened three times as I write this post, and I've been sitting on my couch with my blinds closed the entire time), and I've made sure dynamic brightness control as well as eye care mode are turned off. Even with both turned off, my screen keeps changing color, and it's only happened after installing Vantage--none of my other programs would be doing this, and hadn't been affecting things until the installation. Any thoughts?

When I downgraded I needed to disable secure boot and disable OS Optimized settings in the BIOS in order to boot from the USB drive to install Windows 7. When I reinstalled Windows 7 I did a clean install, put in my Windows 7 Key and installed all the necessary drivers. However, it seems that my USB 3.0 ports are not working. On the flip side, when I plug in my phone or a thumb drive into the USB ports, these devices are recognized in the BIOS. Also, I looked in the device drivers and it seems that my USB drivers are installed. There is, however, an unknown device, which in the details tab reads:IUSB3\ROOT_HUB30&VID_8086&PID_9D2F&REV_0021&SID_504C17AAIUSB3\ROOT_HUB30&VID_8086&PID_9D2F&REV_0021IUSB3\ROOT_HUB30&VID_8086&PID_9D2F Attempted solutions: I tried to reset all BIOS settings back to factory settings but when I did that my OS would not start until I turned secure boot and OS Optimized Settings back off. A:Lenovo Yoga 14 (20 FY) USB 3.0 not working

USB 3.0 wasn't supported back then. Doesn't work with Win 7. You have to stick to the 2.0 ports. Return to the original installed OS or Windows 10 for it to work.

Dear all, probably after the last WINDOWS 10 update my USB ports don't work anymore. I see them correctly in the device manager but it seems like they are off (for instance, I plug my external mouse and it doesn't work). I've already tried to change power settings disabling the suspension for energy saving) and I've checked that the BIOS is the last one. I've also tried to unistall and reinstall USB ports but noting changed. Does anyone have any suggestion? Best regards, Mattia

It seems like this is  recurring issue, since my computer, after my firts tablet-turning, does not see to recognize that it has become a computer again. So, sometimes, my computer do not recognize my trackpad and, sometimes, even my keyboard.I have tried every kind of new released drivers, but nothing seems to fix it. onboard microphone not working. tried plugging in an external microphone to no avail. unit is newly bought. this is a very bad experience for me. first it was the micro hdmi, now this. it seems Lenovo produces defective products. i will never ever buy anything Lenovo again! researching the issues i'm having, i've read so many people have the same problem. both micro hdmi and microphone are defective. it's a hardware issue, hence a factory defect right out of the gate.

Hi all,I recently bought used Thinkpad Yoga S1 with a digitizer and win 8.1. My bad, I didn't check initially that digitizer was working and installed clean win 10. Then, when I trying to use build in digitizer within win 10 it's not working. I tried to install various wacom drivers, but have no luck.Then I reinstalled win 8.1, installed lenovo companion app and updated drivers, but it's no working on win 8.1 as well.I also tried to connect to digitizer with bluetooth on both versions of OS, but laptop can't find it. Could you pls let me know: maybe I doing something wrong ? Hey guys, I have a Lenovo Yoga 2 13 that I got without a hard drive. It has the special SFF-8784 SATA connector. I purchased an adapter to convert the SFF-8784 connector to mSATA, but the laptop would not recognize the drive. I could not even see it in the bios. Is it because the mSATA was not supported or was there another issue? Anyone have experience with this? Thanks!

Hello - We have owned this Lenovo Yoga (product specs below) for about 3 years with no issues. suddenly, a handful of keys stopped working from the keyboard.  I can type just fine using an external keyboard, or by using the screen keyboard. Has anyone had any luck solving this issue? When I skype the person on the other end can barely hear me when I speak at normal volume.It also does not work when I plug in my headset (with microphones attached) into the audio jack, I have tried three different headsets.I have spoken at/into the laptop microphone (without the headsets pluged in) and it made no difference in volume for the other side.I made sure that the mic is not muted or anything, its just not picking up on my voice very well, or at all.

The latest version is current 7.22.85.104. There is a possibility that the Skype of the body of the file is corrupted. Also, Re-installation (or update) of the audio device driver

Hello, My Lenovo Yoga 720 13's touchscreen seems to not work with finger input. However, the touchscreen still responds when connected to the compatible Bamboo Smart Pen I have for this laptop. When accessing device manager, the Device status for HID-compliant touch screen, HID-compliant pen, and Wacom Pen seem to be working correctly. My laptop is Lenovo Yoga 900. BIOS version C6CN39WW I'm not able to use USB "Always-on" port. When computer is on it works like charm, but it doesn't charge any devices when I turn the laptop off. In Lenovo settings everything is ok (toggle shows USB Always-on port is active). There's no "USB always on" setting in that version of BIOS. What am I doing wrong? Is it sth with drivers, or is it a hardware issue (but port generally is working).  I restored to factory settings but with no success.  KubaM

The camera has been working with Skype.  Now not working and camera icon on Skype screen has line across it showing camera not working/available.   In Device Manager I have checked that the device is available (Lenovo EasyCamera).  I have checked privacy settings and camera is on.  I have downloaded an updated driver. The 'general' tab states 'This device is working properly'. My operating system is Windows 10.  Thank you SEJoseph - I have checked in Lenovo Settings and the camera icon has a slash through it.  I assume that means it is disabled.  If so how can I enable it? Problem solved - in Lenovo Settings - camera - set privacy to 'off'.  Camera now works with Skype.

Hello!Recently I've changed the thermal compound on the CPU of my Lenovo Yoga 2 pro. Before the change there were no problems. But now I have 2:- Wifi isn't working. Network adapter isn't detected by the laptop. It just doesn't show up. Funny thing is that bluetooth works!- Right USB isn't working, no idea why.Everything else seems okay. Any solutions? Tips? After installing the driver on touchpad, which was downloaded from the official website, the touchpad still could not work. I even tried to update the bios and the lenovo utilities drivers. Hello, My HDMI port was working fine since the time I bought my laptop. This morning the HDMI port stopped working. When I connect the HDMI cable, the second monitor is detected but nothing is displayed. I am using the display port for the time being. If somebody could help me out it would be great. I unistalled and reinstalled both Intel and Nvidia graphics drivers. Additionally, I opened the laptop to check the solder connection of the HDMI port and it looks fine.

Hi Guys!Please go through my complete message as it is very 'painful' experience you can ever come across when buying a laptop. The Lenovo Yoga is not available in Australia. So, I bought the Lenovo Yoga 13" orange i5 128GB from 'adorama.com' for US $999 + UPS shipping $105. Unfortunately the shippment attracted a custom of 185 AUD which I had to pay later. In total, I have already spent 1400 AUD.The UPS courier service delivered the shipment to my address an hour back i.e. today on 5th July,2013. I was very happy to receive the product but when I switched on the laptop, the screen is not working properly and is displaying a number of vertical colored lines. To confirm that it is the screen problem, I connected the laptop to my TV with a HDMI cable upon which I could see the windows display on the TV. This clearly establishes the fact that the laptop's screen is faulty. Next, when I checked the warranty number online it shows that warranty starts from three months earlier than my purchase date which clearly shows that someone registered the laptop before.Also, the charger I received with the laptop looks to be a used one with scratches and marks on it. I am afraid, the product I got from Adorama is damaged and maybe a refurbished one as the charger clearly looks to be used before. I have exactly the same problem just a set of vertical lines on the screen. Never before have I had such a pathetic problem except maybe with laptops that are 6 years old. For further details I have the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13-inch Convertible Ultrabook (Orange) - (Intel Core i7 3537U 2.0GHz Processor, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD, WLAN, BT, Webcam, Integrated Graphics, Windows 8) bought from amazon.co.uk ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00CA10NUE ). The screen lasted 6 days before dying. Just enough time for me to waste getting it perfectly set up before it died. There was nothing to indicate prior to the screen failing that it was going to fail. Turned it off one night and turned it on the next morning and the screen was only displaying the vertical bars. I'm going to try sending the Laptop back to Lenovo. I actually managed to get through to the Lenovo support - they have quite a good system of dropping the laptop off in a local shop that is then picked up by Lenovo, they reckon to have a turn around of 10 calendar days. I can recommend trying to call the Belgium helpdesk as Lenovo can never outsource the help desk people since they need to speak French and Dutch but usually they will also speak English - start the conversation with "Parlez vous anglais?" / "Spreek je engels?" . Admittedly it will be no use if you need to return the item, but if you just need a bit of technical support it might be a good way to go.

Hi. My internal microphone is not working. It's present in the list, but there is no reaction from it in voice recorders/Skype. External microphone (via headphones) working great. I tried:1. I have a serial number MP166M75 ( 15.6 4k Lenovo Yoga 710). My problem is I'm getting absolutely no volume for the speakers. I try plugging my headphones in, and that also does not work. Any resolutions? I've tried multiple times contacting Lenovo and have gotten nothing, being absolutely pathetic as this was more than $1,000. Any help would be well appreciated. Thanks.

When you said  "the screen is on but only the mouse arrow is visable", do you mean the Touchscreen is not working?
 
If the touchscreen is not working, try the following steps:
1. Open system properties to determine if the OS is detecting the touch capability.
   - Link to picture (Touchscreen not working, proceed to Step 3)
   - Link to picture (Touchscreen is detected, proceed to Step 2)
 
2. Press the Windows key? +R, type devmgmt.msc and press Enter. On the device manager, click view > show hidden devices and under Human Interface Devices section, uninstall the HID-compliant device touch screen (this is the driver that controls the touchscreen). When finished, reboot the system and observe.

3. Turn off the machine and press the OneKey Recovery button and select System Recovery. On the menu, try to touch an item but don't proceed in doing the system recovery -- this is to check if the digitizer (the hardware part that enables touchscreen functionality) is working.
 
If the Touchscreen is working, boot back into Windows and backup important files then prooceed with the System Recovery.
 
If the Touchscreen is still not working even in the System Recovery menu then it's likely that the digitizer is faulty and you will need to contact le... Read more

The cursor / touchpad on my yoga 700 has stopped working. The cursor came and went for a couple days but starting this afternoon, has gone full time MIA.  I have tried a bunch of stuff to try to get it to work, listed below. Called lenovo tech support and they wanted me to mail it in for troubleshooting but it is my work computer and I can't have it gone for who knows how long.  Anyone have any other ideas? I bought my Yoga 510 14" about 2-3 months ago, and noticed that the graphics card in it doesn't seem to work. Specs: i5 6200U, AMD Radeon R5 M430 2GB DDR3, 8GB RAM I have the latest drivers installed, and in my device manager it says the card is detected. However, when I go to test it it doesn't seem to show up. For example, on skyrim, before you start the game you can select your graphics device in a drop down menu, but the menu only says "Intel HD 520" for me. I also searched for AMD Catalyst on my laptop and couldn't find a trace of it. It is still under warranty and I was wondering if I should send it back or if the problem can be solved.Thanks!

I'm running the latest version of Windows 10 (Anniversary Update - Build 14393.693) clean installed on  a Yoga 2 Pro (20266 / 80AY) BIOS 76CN43WW. The "Lenovo Yoga  Mode Control" version 2.0.0.9 (ymc.exe) has consistently crashed every day for the last few months. Crash reports are logged. So I booted my PC after an update the other morning and the keyboard and trackpad weren't working. I tested the brightness keys on my keyboard and they still worked so it couldn't be a hardware issue there, and my mouse still worked so it was just the trackpad that had something wrong with it. The trackpad has a driver error (code 10) but the keyboard says it's working correctly. Here's what I've tried in hopes to resolve the issues so far: -Reinstalling trackpad drivers -Uninstalling both trackpad and keyboard drivers then restarting -System Restore -Chkdsk on both drives -A trick I read on these forums where you flip the device into tent mode, then after a few seconds flip it back round to laptop mode. I am utterly confused as to what's wrong here as nothing has even slightly helped my problem. Any help?

Recently the touchscreen on my Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro stopped working. It is running Windows 10 and the most recent update it received was KB890830. I am getting an error code 10 for the I2C HID device ("A request for the HID descriptor failed"), but when I try to update it, I get a message saying it is already up to date. Disabling and re-enabling hasn't worked and I cannot find the driver on the lenovo website to do a fresh install. Any suggestions to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,I just bought my lenovo yoga 720 not long ago along with the active pen and its not working as it should. The pen is a little lag-ish. Like....I can draw only on the one side of the pen, when i turn the pen around it doesn't draw anymore. I tried to replace the nib, but it was the same as before.So I was wondering if some of you also had this issue. Is there a way to solve it? Is it the pen's or laotop's fault? Thanks for any advice!

My keyboard stopped suddenly working. First the mousepad froze and when I got it working I realized that the keyboard isn't working. When I try to click anywhere it immediately starts typing "zzzzzzz..." and won't stop. I am currently using my laptop in tablet mode. I was able to type a, q and 1 when holding down the letter z, but I updated the bios and now nothing works (I was previously also able to 'disable' the letter z, when holding it down with the buttons next to it). Could it be possible to fix the problem or should I give up and take it to repairs?

I downloaded Ubuntu alongside Windows 10, but on Ubuntu the touchpad is not working.  My touchpad is not detected on my xinput list.(The Logitech devices are a USB mouse and keyboard) Does anyone know if there's any resolution to this or am I out of luck? If I'm out of luck, would this be resolved with future versions of Ubuntu? Thanks.

So for a while the physical click on my mouse pad has been sticky, and wouldn't give the physical sensation that it clicked. Because the actual physical device didn't click that well, I started using the tap to click feature. Just today the mousepad, even just the tap to click, is much less responsive. I can no longer hold and drag items on the desktop, or highlight via the trackpad, whether I physically press down, or tap and hold. Another issue I'm having is that I cannot secondary/right click at ALL, physically, or even if I tap at the bottom right of the screen. I use the Yoga 900 for school work  and taking notes (I'm in grad school) and I would be very inconvenienced by having to send this out for repair. I take really good care of the laptop, though I have had some other hardware issues (ex. the headphone jack needs the 3.5mm plug in it a very particular angle, and also 3 out of 8 the little decorations on the hinges have come off also). When I plugged an external mouse in, I was able to right click without any difficulty. I won't be able to use an external mouse when using it regularly, however. Please help me guys! I can't deal with not having a secondary click on this.

Hello, I recently bought the Yoga 3 14. last month. Inmediatelly after i bought it the windows automatically changed to windows 10. First 2 week worked fine.. after that it started to give me problems with the touchpad, then what i did was with problem solution i clicked on hardware and the procedure worked, for a couple of times...  Then Every day I had to do this.. then the touchpad worked. After a week the touchpad did not worked and The procedure that I did was not helping as well. I read that we should install the newer driver, so I uninstalled the previous driver and downloaded and installed the newer version of synaptics Synaptics_v19.0.14.71. then I have an error warning. Synaptics device is not found... Please help

I have a Lenovo Yoga 700 14ISK (ideapad) with Windows 10 64bit, whose keyboard and touchpad are refusing to work.Everything else seems to be running smoothly except for these. I initially was getting by via the on screen keyboard until I began borrowing an external wireless one. The following is what I knowReset to factory settings did not work.Optimizing OS in BIOS is enabled already (enabling this was suggested by Lenovo Support)THE ARROW KEYS WORK IN BIOS (??!???!?)An external keyboard works (I have used two different Logitech keyboards and both work)Before I sign in, FN+Space seems to work thus (re)activating my backlight. Once I sign in, it stops working.There's no updates for the keyboard driver.I have already tried to uninstall the driver, restart the laptop, and allow it to reinstall the driver.Disabling ymc did not help.F6 does not re-enable the touchpad.I tried a couple button combinations I've seen around for people disabling/enabling keyboards, but none worked. (Willing to try more though!!!) Any ideas? I thought it may be a hardware problem, but since the arrow keys work in BIOS; I'm not confident that this is the case.

Hi All,  My fingerprint scanner isn't working and it says that windows hello isn't available on this device. Additionally, when I look at the driver for the scanner it says "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)." I have tried updating this driver, uninstalling this driver and reinstalling it, reinstalling the chipset drivers, I have reset windows and nothing has worked.

HI,My Lenobo Yoga 900  Keybord not working. while to entre the password it's working, after the login the keyboard goes useless. (Only flight mood key + brightness keys are working) , Btw I have create another local account and log on, and now for that local account keyboad is working as usual. Pls helpThank youKuma

Hi! It seems to be a physical problem in my Yoga 2. If I press in some areas of the space bar, of the buttons or the touchpad, they won't work. In some other areas, it will. Can that be cleaned? Do you think of other solutions? Thanks!
