Preferred Solution: movie maker send error report error

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hey i have added music(.mp3s) or sound effects on my videos no problem on Movie maker..

But i am having a bit of a problem now it keeps on saying ''error adding Music starts after the last(photo or video)'' in project. i have tried it and it still won't work doing.

And i was putting sound effects or music in the middle or and the start of my videos and in fact i have added a sound effect today before it kept coming up with adding music error.

The mp3s(and sound effects) are not corrupted.

Why am i getting this adding music error all of the sudden? How do i fix this stupid problem?

I have to delay posting my video since sunday(upload day) for my Youtube Channel now i will have to do it again for another day and i have been working very hard on this video.

Hi, my name is ashton roesbery and i am currently on a windows xp home edition, version 2002, and a service pack 1. it's manufactured and supported by compaq and presario. it has 2.8 GHz and 504 mb of ram. just recently i downloaded spybot search and destroy. i thought it would get rid of the"send error report thing but it didn't. when i clicked "send error report," it brought me to a screen with a message about downloading windows version service pack 2. i tried downloading it but it said, your system doesn't support it". when i click "don't send," it logs me off any internet activity im doing. for some reason it doesn't let me get onto my email. what should i do?

A:"send Error Report Or Dont Send", Thing Keeps Popping Up.

Hi ashton_r,You actually have a couple of things going on here. Let start with the message "send Error Report Or Dont Send". That message is from XP's error handling services. When XP has a problem, you can choose to send a report to Microsoft that helps them debug XP. One of the nice things about this feature is if there is a fix, you can usuall click a link on the acknoledgement window that will take you to Microsoft to download a patch or fix. It is possible that is when you are getting the option to download SP2. SpyBot is a tool to remove adware/spyware/malware. It doeas clean up a lot of "junk" on your computer. It may or may not help with your problem. If you suspect you have the bad stuff on your system, I would recommend using this post Start HereIMHO, I would make sure all viruses, malware, adware, was off of my computer before applying SP2. Good luck... hope this helps.Rigel

Hello Shanley,

You might see if doing a clean install instead with your upgrade Vista from XP may work better for you instead. Be sure to have all of your device drivers for Vista handy before to make it easier to install them afterwards. Sometimes doing a upgrade from XP to Vista will result in compatibility issues with remnants of the XP install still in the Vista installation.

Clean Install From Upgrade Vista

Hope this helps,

Hi I have an acer travelmate series laptop with windows xp service pack 1 believe. I restored my computer with the proper acer recovery cds about a day ago, and window movie maker used to work fine but now I am trying to make a video I keep getting the same error saying it has encountered a problem and needs to close. I am using two .AVI videos, 2 JPEGS, and 1 MP3 audio song. Everytime I add the song, and click story timeline it encounters the above problem and closes. Now that I have removed the song, when I try to save the movie file it still encounters the same problem, and I have no idea what's wrong with it. I thinkit's windows movie maker 2.1

I have a Sony Handicam (Model DCR-dvd301) and use it to make some hot boot and gear videos of my own, also using Sony software Pixela Image Mixer.

It has been my practice for the past two years to use Pixela to chop the main raw video into "keeper" clips, and then because I do not know how to use their Titles and Credits function, to save the ciips and then close Pixela and open Windows Movie Maker.

Then I import the clips, add transitions and easily make the titles and credits and essentially make the movie there.

However, ever since I formatted my HD and got rid of Vista, reinstalling XP and all the updates, I have been getting an error message in Movie Maker when I try to import the clips:

"C:\Program Files\PIXELA\ImageMixer\Convert\BrahmaBoots\1-brahma.mpg could not be imported. An interface has too many methods to fire events from"

If anyone has a hint of what I can do to allow to import the clips, I'd sure appreciate it. And yes, the same error message when I try to import the entire raw file, and not just the clips.

Thanks in advance...MikeG in Erie

So, I've made my movie, roughly 4 minutes long. When I save it to my desktop, before it even begins to save (not the project, the movie itself), it comes up with this error. "Windows movie maker cannot save the movie to the specified location. verify that he original source files used in your movie are still available, that the saving location is still available and that there is enough disk space available then try again."
I ran through each file individually and they work just fine. It's my desktop for god's sake! I have 200 GB available. I've tried restarting, that doesn't do anything. Any solutions?

Hey guys,

Tried importing a video from my camera, and got the following error:

Quote:

The file G:\DCIM\100VIDEO\VID00001.AVI cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again.

Your quick response is greatly appreciated,

A:Windows Movie Maker Error

Download and install the full K-Lite codec pack (link in my signature area) - what type of camera are you trying to download from?
Some newer camera's file formats won't be supported by Movie Maker - Sony cameras use a proprietary file format that mostly only Sony software will decode.
After installing the K-Lite codec pack open MovieMaker and go to Tools > Options Compatability and make sure all the codecs loaded.
Sometimes, if you still can't get it to open, you may find it best to untick all except ffdshow video and ffdshow audio.
It looks as if you have a hard drive camera (an Olympus?) - try downloading your video to a folder on your computer then use the "import video" command in MovieMaker.

Hope some of this makes sense and helps you!

All I need is a program that will let me take clips from other AVIs or any movie files really, and just pile them on top of each other. I dont need any effects, nothing fancy, just something that will let me put a series of clips into a format that I can then burn onto a DVD.

I downloaded windows movie maker and installed it, but when I open it, it first gives me "The collections file is not valid or is corrupted. A new collections file has been created" then "Class not registered" pops up over that. Then when I close both it says "A new collections file cannot be created" and then I get "Windows Movie Maker has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

My first reaction was to try uninstalling it and then installing it again, but I cant even find it on the list of add/remove programs so I'm stuck.

I'm trying to get a copy of Casino Royale off of the DVD and into my computer so I can watch it on my PMP. I record it using the Plextor PXTV100U converter that uses Composite connections and converts it into USB signals. The Plextor works conveniently well with WMM. The problem is, when I record the thing in high def, the sounds is awesome but the Plextor can't keep up with video recording and majorly skips frames (but the sound is unaffected). When I record in lo def, the resolution gives the Plextor no problem but the sound sucks. Well, I have to splice together the video from lo def and the sound from hi def. When I go to put the two together using WMM it all works seamlessly, until.... it gets about 50% thru the 'convert to movie file' conversion and then all of a sudden I get an error message that says it cannot go further, make sure the original file and the directory I'm saving this one to are both still available. Well, they are, but it keeps BS-in' me anyway its getting really annoying. What's the problem, the two files work fine separately but together they hate each other.

I try and take 3 movie files of any format and splice them togeather (storyboard) and I keep getting this error. I've tryed reinstalling "Microsofts Movie Maker" and I still get the same thing.

Any Thoughts?
Thanks

A:Solved: Movie Maker Error

ok a few things, but most importantly what are the three file type you're trying to splice together?

I looked at that error and I know movie maker inside and out, so what that error means could be a few things: it may not know where teh files are. On the storyboard (or timeline) it will look like a bunch of red X's.
That means that either the file is moved or it just simply cannot find it. In that case, right click on the clip > browse for missing file> then find it click open. it should then recognize it and you can continue saving without any problems.

The file types could be screwing up the saving process. (this is what I suspect happened) But I'd need to know if all three files have different extentions like (avi, wmv, mpeg) there are more file types out there. That's just a few. Durign the saving process it might not be able to save it properly.

If you could type out what it is step by step you did before it gave you this error message that would be helpful. Movie maker is not the greatest program out there that's for sure but you shouldn't have had to uninstall it / reinstall it. Get back to me on this.

Hi, I'm new :]
I'm trying to make a music video using Windows Movie Maker. However, I get the XP error, "Windows Movie Maker has encountered a problem and needs to close." This occurs so often that it's impossibel to accomplish anything.

Additionally, the clips I'm using for the video are in MPG format - ripped from a DVD, converted with DVD2AVI and then TMPGEnc. I've downed the bitrate as much as possible and the resolution to 240x176, but the files are still huge. Anything I can do about that?

I'd really appreciate any insight you have into these problems. Thanks so much, and have a lovely day.

Windows Movie Maker does not support MPEG2 video files. It does not have the proper codec. File formats supported by Windows Movie Maker in Windows XP
You can import the movie to your HDD and then convert it to MPEG1, DIVXX, AVI etc. EZ MPEG To AVI Converter - Free download and software reviews - CNET Download.com And then import it.

Hi all,

over the past week I've been working on making a movie using Windows Live Movie Maker. It was working very well, until yesterday when I tried to launch the program and it gave an error.

The error:

I tried system restore to a point where it worked, but that didn't change anything. Also, I can't easily reinstall the program, because there's no "Windows Live Movie Maker" or even "Windows Live Essentials" entry in my "Programs and Features".

Usually I can fix my problems through Google, but this time I didn't encounter any useful information

A few months ago I got a new laptop (MSI GE Series GE70 Apache Pro-012) and when trying to run the Windows Live Movie Maker that came with it, there's a flash shown on the screen as if the program's about to open, then an error message pops up with the text:

Sorry, Movie Maker had to shut down unexpectedly. Please restart it, and then try again. (Error: 0x80004005)

I have tried:
*Rebooting the computer
*Uninstalling Movie Maker & Photo Gallery then reinstalling
*Updating graphics drivers (NVIDIA GTX 860m)
etc, etc.

to no avail. I couldn't find any good answers when googling it, and while some people offered general fixes like running the troubleshooter, they still didn't work.

I've never run Movie Maker before on this laptop without an error, but shouldn't it be able to work as it came on the computer originally?

I am using Windows Movie Maker on XP, and whenever I try to save a video to my computer, I get this error message:

"Windows Movie Maker cannot save the movie to the specified location. Verify that the original source files were used in your movie are still available, that the saving location is still available, and that there is enough free disk space available, and then try again."

Now, this makes no sense because:
A. I never moved or deleted the videos/music I used in the video.
B. I'm saving it to 'My Documents,' so how can I not save there?
C. The video is 28.64 MB, and I have 96 GIGS of free space.

I tried restarting the computer - that didn't work. I tried it making the same video on a different computer - that didn't work. So I'm pretty frustrated.

Is there any way of fixing this problem without having to redo my video?

-Thanks

Uninstalling and reinstalled Movie Maker (in windows live essentials)
Running As Administrator
Using the system file checker tool (which was recommended in another thread posted by a user who has the same problem as I do. It did not work for that user either.)
I would appreciate any help with this. Thank you for your time!

I am new to the site, and I do not quite know how everything works , but anyway, can you tell me how you resolve the issue of Windows Movie Maker coming up with the XP Send Error Report Dialouge on start up and how, if I drag it out of the way, I cannot place video clips, audio or anything onto the timeline- I do not know if I have WMM 1 or 2, but my computer operating system is: Windows XP Service Pack 2. Please help as I want to make videos!! Also, please vote in the poll, it helps me as I can then think: "there are more video making software for free out there!" or "stick with Windows Movie Maker"

Thanks,

I have just worked out how to access Movie Maker's Files, if this is any help to anyone! Follow this link: http://www.download.com/3000-2194-10187903.html . Select Download, download and install WMM and then find it in the Start menu. Right click on the shortcut and select Properties, then click on "Find Target" it opens a folder with all the WMM files in- is this any help to anyone?

So I'm trying to make some videos for Youtube, however I'm running into a problem. I'm using fraps for gaming recording, but in order to upload them I try to use Windows Live Movie Maker. If I try to upload them directly from Youtube it takes 6000+ hours and I don't want to wait that long. I think it was shorter through WLM. However this time I can't seem to log into Youtube. You know after you drag in the movie into WLM and you click on the Youtube icon, you have to sign in. But when I try to sign in, it gives me an error message, "Youtube plug-in; An unknown error has occurred please try again later." And I keep on trying but still getting the same message. I know I managed to do it before because I've already uploaded two videos before through the movie maker. So I don't know what the problem is now?

Hello Tech Support forum members,

I am currently trying to learn how to make an "Automovie"(nothing that would require a large amount of memory usage) in Windows Movie Maker 2, but keep getting a "Windows Movie Maker has encountered a problem and needs to close" error msg after improting a .wav sound file into the Automovie project;I have checked the error report(the location/path of this report),but can not locate the error text in the path specified!!!

I was wondering if this error might have something to do with having service pack 3 installed,or possibly a missing/corrupt .dll issue??

Hello!

I am troubleshooting a computer error for a fellow family member and I have a question.

We are dealing with a program that spontaneously crashes without notice. We get the little popup screen about an error report and we've sent in the report several times. I now want to see if we can solve this problem through the help of web support sites, but to do that I need the error info that was sent in the error report. The program has not crashed for a couple of days now so I can't get a new report to work with. Is there a log in the system that lists errors, the reports and when they were sent? I am using Windows XP Service Pack 2.

Thanks!
