I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I recently just bought a new 750ti off newegg. installed it and managed to get a couple hours of no mans sky into it before everything started crashing.. Im still unsure if the graphic card has anything to do with the crashes. ive been playing assassins creed syndicate and manage to get 20 mins into it and it crashes. the crashes tend to start with the computer freezing with a sound loop for about 3 seconds then the fans speed up to max and everything crashes. it has happened a couple times while surfing the internet or just mid shutdown. Ive reinstalled windows 3 times, reinstalled drivers more times than i can count and have tested the hdd. Im at my last rope and really dont want to have to take it into a shop.
My specs are:
amd a10-7800
zotac gtx 750ti
8gb ram
evga 500w psu
seagate barracuda 1tb HDD

would really appreciate any suggestions or help..

I was playing Dota 2 on my laptop when I saw several small pixelated artifacts moving on the screen. I decided to alt-tab to see if my eyes were playing tricks on me, and the screen went black and I couldn't do anything. The screen was slowly flashing for awhile until there was a popup saying "Display driver has stopped responding and has recovered."

It continued to flash until I got a BSOD saying DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (igdkmd64.sys). I rebooted the computer only to have it do the same thing on the start screen with the artifacts still there until I got a BSOD again.

I'm now typing this in safe mode since I can't start up normally because of the constant crashing. Can anyone help me?

A:BSOD playing a game, display driver constantly crashing

Hi jadz45122 & Welcome to the forums ^_^,

I have analysed your dump files and below has been provided an analysis of the same for informative purposes :-
Attempt to reset the display driver and recover from timeout failed.
Arg1: ffffe000c3c42010, Optional pointer to internal TDR recovery context (TDR_RECOVERY_CONTEXT).
Arg2: fffff8005b490d90, The pointer into responsible device driver module (e.g. owner tag).
Arg3: 0000000000000000, Optional error code (NTSTATUS) of the last failed operation.
Arg4: 000000000000000d, Optional internal context dependent data.

So, according to the dump file, the 3rd argument is 0 which means the operation completed successfully yet the system crashed. Sounds strange right?
According to your description, if you are getting artifacts, that would be most likely a hardware problem.

Hi there,

I have had a few problems with my custom built computer. I believed at first that I had malware and virus issues, however a nice technician on the virus forums said there was no problem.

I am receiving the dreaded Blue Screen of Death fairly frequently, I am not playing any games, just browsing the internet when it happens.

Secondly, my browsers (both Mozilla 3.6.8 and IE 8) are both crashing very frequently - Mozilla comes up with a report message saying it has crashed and asks me whether to send or not to send the report, whereas IE reloads the tabs frequently, but to a point the page cannot be reloaded and has to be closed down.

As well as this, a lot of my executable files are crashing - I am getting error messages from things like java, flash, avg, my network card, windows messenger etc saying that they have crashed.

This problem is happening very frequently, I cannot seem to go half an hour without browsing with no problem.

If anyone could help it would be VERY MUCH appreciated!

A:BSOD, exe files constantly crashing, browsers crashing.

You need to post some hardware details about your custom built computer.
Something is unstable and it could well be the memory modules.

In addition, when you see a BSoD click details, it will generally state which executable caused the problem.

I would be tempted to look for a copy of memtest and run some memory diagnostics.

A:haveing problems playing a game with out it either randomlly crashing the game...

first of all is this limited to this game alone?do other games run fine?check for any overheating signs, install the latest drivers for your video card and your mobo, direct x and any other update.see if you meet the minimum requirements for the game.(this was just the official response you would get from a techie..so bear with me)

if this is happening in this game only and not in any other and your pc isnt overheating and meeting the minimum requirements, then there is a good chance its an issue with your optical drive, try a combo drive if you've got any around.its an incompatibility issue with some of the games.good luck

I have an ongoing issue where I log onto the glyph launcher, log onto my server, play for a while, sometimes hours with no issue but then BOOM, the game just closes on me and I'm booted back to the launcher. I have to push the PLAY button again, log into the server again, but it seems once the game boots me out then the crashing becomes more frequent.

I at first reported it to Trion support (useless) all they do is copy and paste previous responses from previous games sometimes not even removing the other game titles from it, but all in all I have spent over a month with them and I have:

1. Expanded my paging file to initial size of 1X RAM size max size 2X RAM size (to handle the memory of the game)
2. Switched from DirectX11 down to DirectX9 and back again. (in game)
3. Lowered my FPS (frames per second) to 100 (in game)
4. Switched off Multithread rendering and VSync (in game)
5. They have also had me change the priority of the game archeage.exe to high to see if that helps and it doesn't
( I would start the launcher, log onto the game and the server, go into the character screen, then cntrl + alt + delete into task manager and right click the process and set the priority to high then go back into the game)

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I`m trying to run DX-BALL Game in windows 7 ultimate on a Toshiba Satellite laptop but the game keeps on minimising itself. I know it`s an old game so i`ve tried running it in every conceiveable compatibility mode but no luck. I had it running on another Toshiba Satellite laptop on windows 7 ultimate without a problem.
The display adapter is: Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family.
I`ve uninstalled and re-installed several times but still no good, it`s annoying as i had it running perfectly on another toshiba laptop.

Please remove any CD virtualization programs such as Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%. They use a driver, found in your dmp, sptd.sys, that is notorious for causing BSODs. Use this SPTD uninstaller when you're done: DuplexSecure - Downloads
You can use MagicDisc as an alternative.

EDIT : Sorry about posting twice, i dunno how i did it...

Hi, i'm new to this forum and in need of help. Nearly every program that connects to the internet using the .net Framework, msn(all versions including 8BETA), Visual C# 2005 Express "devoexplore", Visual Basic 2005 Express "devexplore" and also any help file (using MSOHELP.exe), such as ones used in MS Office, they all slow down dramatically, normally crashing as soon as it's loaded. Another thing that made me think its when .net connects to the internet, is that it also happens when I insert the WebBrowser class in either C#, VB and even the PowerPoint VBA program, and it even crashes in the design mode of all those programs.

I have .net Framework 1.1 and hotfix (kb886903) and .net Framework 2.0.
I cannot uninstall ANY .net 1.1 or 2.0 as it says "The insallation source is unavailable."

Any Idea?

Dunno if it'll help but my specs are:
AMD Athlon 3500+
Winxp SP2
GeForce 6600GT
160GB HD

Hi karlstpats and welcome

Hi all.  I'm new to the community, but this is my second Think Pad.  Brand new, T460P, 6820HQ, 16G Ram, 512G SSD, extra life battery, running the Windows 7x64 Pro downgrade from Windows 10Pro.  I've had it for about 3 weeks now, and I have a problem (and have had since day 1) where internet explorer keeps crashing.  Typically, I'll get a popup message that says that internet explorer has stopped responding and needs to close.  If I wait for a few seconds before acknowledging the error, I don't "normally" lose my place, but sometimes, if it happens while I'm typing text, It'll wipe out my typing.  I have run windows update, and lenovo update, to no avail.  Has anyone experienced this issue, and been able to successfully fix it?  Open to most suggestions.  don't need to hear answers such as "use chrome, firefox, etc' and 'why windows 7, use windows 10'  I have my reasons for all, and it I.E. shouldn't be crashing. Same version of I.E. is perfectly stable on my t500 running identical OS / updates. I've included a screen snip of the error.

Hi guys,
I'm having a problem with AIM (version and Firefox disconnecting from the internet sporadically. I noticed it first with AIM. I'll be messaging people and getting no response. A couple minutes later I see the buddy list window say that the connection failed and it automatically restarts. The problem is that it does this almost constantly now and I basically can't hold conversations through AIM.

I also noticed that Firefox (version 3.0.3) stalls out when loading pages pretty often. Like I'll be watching a video and it will stop downloading the video all together. Or if I click on a webpage it will begin loading it and then stop part-way.

I'm not sure what to make of this problem. I guess could be either hardware or software that's malfunctioning. So far I've tried updating my network card's driver and switching ports on my router. I have an HP Media Center desktop running Windows XP. It's plugged into a Motorola cable modem and a Linksys wireless router, but my computer is plugged into the router. None of the other computers on the network are experiencing any problems. I've had overheating problems with this computer before. Could it be a damaged network card or a damaged ethernet cable?

Thanks for your help! Let me know if you need any more info.

Correction: The problem is occurring on both of the computers that are plugged into the routers, but the computer using the wireless internet is not having any problems. Broken router?

1.Disable all IE9 addons
2.Reset IE9 settings

Hi all.

I would appreciate some help with this issue. My Samsung RV511 laptop has recently just started crashing during browsing of the internet. It appears as though my physical memory is a ridiculous 97% most of the time during crashing and I am not doing anything out of the ordinary. I have also scanned my computer for any malware/virus' but there is nothing.

Can anyone please help?

Hey there,

I have a Gateway GT5628 Desktop comp. running Windows Vista Home Premium.

I have essentially abandoned this computer and really want to get it back on it's feet. The problem I have is that the comp will spontaneously crash and restart with no warning or consistency. It ranges from 5 minutes to an hour, but rarely can it go longer than that without "revving up", crashing, and restarting.

I've run numerous spyware, adware, and virus scans and protections and they haven't helped. I even took it to Geek Squad and they didn't know how to help either.

Is there a solution, is there anything I can do, AM I INFECTED?

Thanks so much for your help.

I just got a new system and it is crashing my games all the time. Call of Duty, Halo, Wolf: ET, Svencoop, Teamfortress etc.
Sys specs:

Proc: AMD 64bit 3200+
mobo: Asus k8v deluxe
RAM: 2 sticks samsung 512. 3200
Vid: Asylum GeForce 5900 128bit
Onboard sound.
OpSys: Windows XP home

I will be in the game and then the game will either freeze and ill have to hard start. OR it will give me a windows error and it gives me the option to report it to mircosoft. I have latest Dx9 drivers and my drivers for my video card are from november 03 they are not old and should be able to run these games. Deus Ex 2 has the same problems and it also shutters when i move the mouse left and right. Another site said that it was the outdated drivers. How can this be when they are from 3 months ago. Everything is updated except for the latest drivers for the vid card. I did update them previously but the dirvers didnt seem enabled. I am completely lost, and fustrated any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks DszX

check event viewer (type eventvwr in search) for critical errors (they have red in the left column) that say app hang, app crash, or anything related to sound

when you find them use the built in snipping tool to make a screen shot, and up load it to us using the attachment icon (shaped like a peper clip ) in the reply form

My Windows 7 is constantly crashing during video games and streaming shows. There isn't a BSOD it just shuts down then reboots. Even then it doesn't always reboot all the way. I have tried restoring and antivirus scans though I can't seem to pinpoint the source. Any help or advice would be helpful.

A:My windows 7 is constantly crashing.

Is it happening during one game only or more than one? Cause it sounds to me like there is some sorta hardware issue going on causing it to reboot like that and or a software issue(s) as well. I would open the command prompt and do a sfc /scannow to scan for any system integrity errors. Click start, programs, accessories, then right click on command prompt and select run as administrator. Then type sfc /scannow. Let it scan and see if it finds any issues. If that does not fix the issue post back.

Every time I boot my laptop, Vista loads really slow and explorer.exe is slow to respond. When I click to open a program it just stalls for a bit then nothing happens. I'm unable to do anything when I boot Vista normally and I end up having to shut it down manually and starting it in safe mode. The problem has happened out of nowhere there isn't nothing I've downloaded recently that could have caused it.

I've tried a system restore and that does nothing, I've also tried virus scans and memory scans and still no luck.

I'm running Windows Vista on a HP G6000 laptop with 2gb RAM, AMD Athlon 64 X2 TK57 and that's all the specs i can find lol.

Here's the log...

Any help would be really appreciated,

Okay, this problem's been plaguing me for a while. I'm unsure of whether or not it's a virus, or what--HJT logs have been inconclusive, as have all virus and malware scans. So.

Mainly, the problem is that my browsers--Firefox and, out of desperation, Internet Explorer--will bring up error windows, or just close.

For no reason whatsoever, Firefox will bring up a window giving me the option to report to Mozilla that it's crashed. Internet Explorer, after loading up the homepage or--with the will of God--one or two pages will bring up a window offering me the option to close or Debug. Both of these options do little more than close IE.

If anyone might have some insight into what could be causing this, please, I'm desperate.

Hi there

I've been playing Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 the last few months (I know, ridiculously old but SO fun, I'm addicted), building a massive park that's grown to be the size of the entire map.

However about a week ago, I crashed in-game for the first time. Now I crash every 15-30 minutes. I don't know exactly what changed that would cause this, but nothing that I can recall. I've tried reinstalling, getting rid of custom content, installing C++ redistributables, but nothing seems to work. I don't really know if this is a problem with the game and my park (too big?) or if something went wrong with my PC. The error in the crashdump RCT3 file says "Unhandled exception "Access Violation" in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 Gold\RCT3plus.exe" at 0023:004669c1. Read from location 0144e000 caused an access violation"

I'll post the dxdiag, as well as the error logs in the RCT3 folder. Let me know what I can do... thanks

Just yesterday, I had received my graphics card back from ASUS. The card works now, but with a few issues. Firstly, my system crashes at random. It appears to not crash whilst I am playing a game, but it does crash whenever I have the computer idling.

System crash image is found here: http://i.imgur.com/AgYIUq5.png

Another form of crash is a BSOD for the error message stated as, "DRIVERS_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL"

The video card is an AMD R9 290. I have downloaded the latest drivers using the amd auto detector.

Any help to fix the crashing would be appreciated.

Hey guys, I've purchased Photoshop a while back, can't remember when, and it's worked up until today.

Today, whenever I go to create a new image, it crashes on me. So if I go File > New > enter in the specifications then it says "Adobe Photoshop CS3 has encountered a problem and needs to close."

I have tried uninstalling and re-installing this program but it doesn't want to fix. Does anybody know how to fix this?

Hi Lostnumber, try running IE without any addons to see if the same happens:
- Click Start -> Run -> type:
iexplore -extoff
- Click OK

Test for a while to see if it crashes.

Does the crash usually happen on the same site? Is it completely random?

Hi guys,

Been a while since posting here but theres a problem with my pc im totally flummoxed with.

For a few months now my pc has been hard locking at random, usually about once a day at different times, just a complete lockup, with no error message or anything and it makes a sound like DRRRRRRRRR if theres anything that makes noise like a game or music running.

When this happens i have to press the reset key on the case to restart the machine then it continues like nothing happened. When its working the pc seems to be running fine, playing games at high resolutions etc, and ive checked the temps on speedfan, they seem fine (70c on GPU under load (playing batman arkham asylum maxed out), 43c cpu, chipset around 50c).

Im using the latest drivers for my card from nvidia's website and checked my other drivers, they seem up to date, and checked for any viruses/spyware and there are none.

One thing that does seem unusual though is if i change a piece of hardware, like unplug the ram, move it to another dimm socket then put it back in, the crashes stop for a couple days then start again, or if i remove the gpu then put it back in the same thing.

Here is my DXdiag file to take a look at:

I keep getting the blue screen when I try to load my computer through normal settings. It crashes with a blue screen at the "Windows Vista" loading screen with the bar, and then restarts, and then repeats. This was after I used System Mechanic to "optimize" my system by compressing the registry, optimising memory useage and defragmenting the drive (although I cancelled defragmentation mid-way). It keeps crashing over and over, or loads the desktop with just a black screen. When I try to use the Task Manager, it tells me that the application failed to initialize.

The error message that I'm getting on the blue screen is:
It then does a "memory dump" before restarting, and doing the same thing over and over.

I have Hiren's Boot CD 9.8, but I don't know which programs to use to get it back. I tried a partitioning tool, because I didn't know what it was and thought it could help [I know, very stupid...], and it fixed 3 "partition errors" but all that seemed to do is hide my D:/ drive when I load up my computer in Safe Mode. Although, when I start Windows Mini XP via the boot CD, the C:/ and D:/ drives are still there, with all data intact.

I'd like to try some methods rather than factory resetting my computer immedietly.

Can anyone help? Or suggest programs to use on Hiren's Boot CD? Or even any alternate suggestions?

Thank you in advance.

I've been using Firefox for years now but in the last month or so it's began crashing around 10 times per day.
The crashes usually happen when I click the "Bookmark" tab, Firefox will freeze and then the "Not responding" appears at the top of the window, it happens about 70% of the time i click Bookmarks.
This also happens EVERY time I try and clear my "Browsing and Download History" - so essentially i'm no longer able to wipe history anymore. I am however still able to clear the cache, cookies and search history etc.

I tried uninstalling/reinstalling firefox. I tried running my CCleaner to clear the registry and that. I've run Malwarebytes and AVG in case there's something else causing this. Nothing works.

Any ideas? I'm not exactly proficient is computers by any means so please try keep it as simple as possible

Hi, since about a month ago my computer keeps crashing. It started after I took a hard drive from an infected computer(thinking I could format the infection out of the drive) and put it in this one, and even after I noticed the crashes and removed the drive, it keeps crashing. I'm running Vista SP2 if that's of any consolation. Also it crashes when I try to open pictures, listen to music, and refresh my windows experience index( it says "new hardware detected" and "your windows experience index needs to be refreshed"). Can somebody please help me?

It sounds to me like you need to go ahead and re-seat everything you might have knocked something loose without even realizing what you have done even if you have already checked that check again anything and everything that can be unplugged inside the machine un-plug it and plug it back in firmly.

Bough my laptop last week and since the first days it has been crashing with almost all the programs I open (edge, chrome, word, and even the hp support app) forcing me to power down and restart it to make it work again. I did all the updates available but the problems persisted. What can I do??

Around 2 months ago, I re-installed Windows 8.1 with the same software and settings as all my other installations.

After that I kept seeing this error pop up randomly;

and has done that ever since. It has no correlation to what I'm doing it seems, sometimes I can see it 3 times within 5-10 minutes, other times it won't happen for hours. It even minimizes the games I'm playing when it pops up, which is the main reason why I want it fixed.

Right now I'd rather not re-install again, as I plan on moving to Windows 10 as soon as humanly possible.

Any suggestions?

I was wondering if anyone can help me here with some of my programs crashing.

I have a Dell inspiron 1720 laptop and using vista 32.

Two programs are always crashing, and both in exactly the same way are NVU and Audacity. I will record something on audacity then go to the file menu to save it, and before any drop down menus appear, the thing says program shutting down.

And it does so before anything is saved. In NVU exactly the same thing happens, what I do is save it every 2 minutes, so that when it does crash I have something to work with.

With audacity I will record say 40 minutes then go to file, and it then shuts down. It has happened in other programs, as well eg. Windows explorer.

I have reinstalled the whole Vista hundred of times, well it feels like it and I am really fed up with this.

Please, has anyone had this problem, and know how to resolve it.

Many thanks

I got a problem. After I terminated by computer by the power switch, there's a program called OCMCTRES.EXE which keeps constantly crashing, that is, periodically every 1 minute I get a sign saying Ocmctres.exe has crashed.

I can't find it in the task manager. I can't find it if I search for it (only thing that shows are files in the Prefetch folder). Google won't show up anything for a search.

My only guess it has something to do with the USB-stick I had plugged into the computer at the time?

Please, anyone help?
