I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I recently just bought a new 750ti off newegg. installed it and managed to get a couple hours of no mans sky into it before everything started crashing.. Im still unsure if the graphic card has anything to do with the crashes. ive been playing assassins creed syndicate and manage to get 20 mins into it and it crashes. the crashes tend to start with the computer freezing with a sound loop for about 3 seconds then the fans speed up to max and everything crashes. it has happened a couple times while surfing the internet or just mid shutdown. Ive reinstalled windows 3 times, reinstalled drivers more times than i can count and have tested the hdd. Im at my last rope and really dont want to have to take it into a shop.
My specs are:
amd a10-7800
zotac gtx 750ti
8gb ram
evga 500w psu
seagate barracuda 1tb HDD

would really appreciate any suggestions or help..

I was playing Dota 2 on my laptop when I saw several small pixelated artifacts moving on the screen. I decided to alt-tab to see if my eyes were playing tricks on me, and the screen went black and I couldn't do anything. The screen was slowly flashing for awhile until there was a popup saying "Display driver has stopped responding and has recovered."

It continued to flash until I got a BSOD saying DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (igdkmd64.sys). I rebooted the computer only to have it do the same thing on the start screen with the artifacts still there until I got a BSOD again.

I'm now typing this in safe mode since I can't start up normally because of the constant crashing. Can anyone help me?

OS: Windows 8.1 64 bit

Hi jadz45122 & Welcome to the forums ^_^,

I have analysed your dump files and below has been provided an analysis of the same for informative purposes :-
Attempt to reset the display driver and recover from timeout failed.
Arg1: ffffe000c3c42010, Optional pointer to internal TDR recovery context (TDR_RECOVERY_CONTEXT).
Arg2: fffff8005b490d90, The pointer into responsible device driver module (e.g. owner tag).
Arg3: 0000000000000000, Optional error code (NTSTATUS) of the last failed operation.
Arg4: 000000000000000d, Optional internal context dependent data.

So, according to the dump file, the 3rd argument is 0 which means the operation completed successfully yet the system crashed. Sounds strange right?
According to your description, if you are getting artifacts, that would be most likely a hardware problem.
Could you please perform the Furmark and check the temperatures?

Click "Go" to start the test (Looks like it's "BURN-IN test" now)
- Run the test until the GPU temperature maxes out - or until you start having problems (whichever comes first).... Read more

Hi there,

I have had a few problems with my custom built computer. I believed at first that I had malware and virus issues, however a nice technician on the virus forums said there was no problem.

I am receiving the dreaded Blue Screen of Death fairly frequently, I am not playing any games, just browsing the internet when it happens.

Secondly, my browsers (both Mozilla 3.6.8 and IE 8) are both crashing very frequently - Mozilla comes up with a report message saying it has crashed and asks me whether to send or not to send the report, whereas IE reloads the tabs frequently, but to a point the page cannot be reloaded and has to be closed down.

As well as this, a lot of my executable files are crashing - I am getting error messages from things like java, flash, avg, my network card, windows messenger etc saying that they have crashed.

This problem is happening very frequently, I cannot seem to go half an hour without browsing with no problem.

If anyone could help it would be VERY MUCH appreciated!

A:BSOD, exe files constantly crashing, browsers crashing.

You need to post some hardware details about your custom built computer.
Something is unstable and it could well be the memory modules.

In addition, when you see a BSoD click details, it will generally state which executable caused the problem.

I would be tempted to look for a copy of memtest and run some memory diagnostics.

A:haveing problems playing a game with out it either randomlly crashing the game...

first of all is this limited to this game alone?do other games run fine?check for any overheating signs, install the latest drivers for your video card and your mobo, direct x and any other update.see if you meet the minimum requirements for the game.(this was just the official response you would get from a techie..so bear with me)

if this is happening in this game only and not in any other and your pc isnt overheating and meeting the minimum requirements, then there is a good chance its an issue with your optical drive, try a combo drive if you've got any around.its an incompatibility issue with some of the games.good luck

I have an ongoing issue where I log onto the glyph launcher, log onto my server, play for a while, sometimes hours with no issue but then BOOM, the game just closes on me and I'm booted back to the launcher. I have to push the PLAY button again, log into the server again, but it seems once the game boots me out then the crashing becomes more frequent.

I at first reported it to Trion support (useless) all they do is copy and paste previous responses from previous games sometimes not even removing the other game titles from it, but all in all I have spent over a month with them and I have:

1. Expanded my paging file to initial size of 1X RAM size max size 2X RAM size (to handle the memory of the game)
2. Switched from DirectX11 down to DirectX9 and back again. (in game)
3. Lowered my FPS (frames per second) to 100 (in game)
4. Switched off Multithread rendering and VSync (in game)
5. They have also had me change the priority of the game archeage.exe to high to see if that helps and it doesn't
( I would start the launcher, log onto the game and the server, go into the character screen, then cntrl + alt + delete into task manager and right click the process and set the priority to high then go back into the game)

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I`m trying to run DX-BALL Game in windows 7 ultimate on a Toshiba Satellite laptop but the game keeps on minimising itself. The display adapter is: Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family.
I`ve uninstalled and re-installed several times but still no good, it`s annoying as i had it running perfectly on another toshiba laptop.

Hello serpentracer

There are several steps to fix the problem!!

1.Disable all IE9 addons
2.Reset IE9 settings
3.Scan for Maleware (Use Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware, anti-virus and spyware removal download)
4.Install all updates

If the problem is still there, take a look at the IE solution center from Microsoft.

Hi all.

I would appreciate some help with this issue. My Samsung RV511 laptop has recently just started crashing during browsing of the internet. Crashing to the extent that I cannot even load task manager and have to restart. I had my suspicions it was AVG as it took alot of my CPU power but to no avail, its still happening.

It appears as though my physical memory is a ridiculous 97% most of the time during crashing and I am not doing anything out of the ordinary. I have also scanned my computer for any malware/virus' but there is nothing.

Can anyone please help?

Hi all. I'm new to the community, but this is my second Think Pad. Brand new, T460P, 6820HQ, 16G Ram, 512G SSD, extra life battery, running the Windows 7x64 Pro downgrade from Windows 10Pro. I've had it for about 3 weeks now, and I have a problem (and have had since day 1) where internet explorer keeps crashing. Typically, I'll get a popup message that says that internet explorer has stopped responding and needs to close. If I wait for a few seconds before acknowledging the error, I don't "normally" lose my place, but sometimes, if it happens while I'm typing text, It'll wipe out my typing. I have run windows update, and lenovo update, to no avail. Has anyone experienced this issue, and been able to successfully fix it? Open to most suggestions. don't need to hear answers such as "use chrome, firefox, etc' and 'why windows 7, use windows 10' I have my reasons for all, and it I.E. shouldn't be crashing. Same version of I.E. is perfectly stable on my t500 running identical OS / updates. I've included a screen snip of the error.

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen,

If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer

If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart
your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then

Hey there,

I have a Gateway GT5628 Desktop comp. running Windows Vista Home Premium.

I have essentially abandoned this computer and really want to get it back on it's feet. The problem I have is that the comp will spontaneously crash and restart with no warning or consistency. It ranges from 5 minutes to an hour, but rarely can it go longer than that without "revving up", crashing, and restarting.

I've run numerous spyware, adware, and virus scans and protections and they haven't helped. I even took it to Geek Squad and they didn't know how to help either.

Is there a solution, is there anything I can do, AM I INFECTED?

Thanks so much for your help.

Hi guys,
I'm having a problem with AIM (version and Firefox disconnecting from the internet sporadically. I noticed it first with AIM. I'll be messaging people and getting no response. A couple minutes later I see the buddy list window say that the connection failed and it automatically restarts. The problem is that it does this almost constantly now and I basically can't hold conversations through AIM.

I also noticed that Firefox (version 3.0.3) stalls out when loading pages pretty often. Like I'll be watching a video and it will stop downloading the video all together. Or if I click on a webpage it will begin loading it and then stop part-way.

I'm not sure what to make of this problem. I guess could be either hardware or software that's malfunctioning. So far I've tried updating my network card's driver and switching ports on my router. I have an HP Media Center desktop running Windows XP. It's plugged into a Motorola cable modem and a Linksys wireless router, but my computer is plugged into the router. None of the other computers on the network are experiencing any problems. I've had overheating problems with this computer before. Could it be a damaged network card or a damaged ethernet cable?

Thanks for your help! Let me know if you need any more info.

Hi, i'm new to this forum and in need of help. Nearly every program that connects to the internet using the .net Framework, msn(all versions including 8BETA), Visual C# 2005 Express "devoexplore", Visual Basic 2005 Express "devexplore" and also any help file (using MSOHELP.exe), such as ones used in MS Office, they all slow down dramatically, normally crashing as soon as it's loaded. Another thing that made me think its when .net connects to the internet, is that it also happens when I insert the WebBrowser class in either C#, VB and even the PowerPoint VBA program, and it even crashes in the design mode of all those programs.

I have .net Framework 1.1 and hotfix (kb886903) and .net Framework 2.0.
I cannot uninstall ANY .net 1.1 or 2.0 as it says "The insallation source is unavailable."

Any Idea?

Dunno if it'll help but my specs are:

Every time I boot my laptop, Vista loads really slow and explorer.exe is slow to respond. When I click to open a program it just stalls for a bit then nothing happens. I'm unable to do anything when I boot Vista normally and I end up having to shut it down manually and starting it in safe mode. The problem has happened out of nowhere there isn't nothing I've downloaded recently that could have caused it.

I've tried a system restore and that does nothing, I've also tried virus scans and memory scans and still no luck.

I'm running Windows Vista on a HP G6000 laptop with 2gb RAM, AMD Athlon 64 X2 TK57 and that's all the specs i can find lol.

Here's the log...

Any help would be really appreciated,

I am having the same problem and I was thinking that I have to repair windows xp also. I had a terrible time trying to install the O/S to begin with. I constantly received errors during install. Such as, this so and so file was not copied to your hard drive correctly to try again press enter.
During the win xp setup I received a variety of stop errors. Frustrating. So I finally got the O/S in the computer and now I receive the errors that you have mentioned. I am looking for some resolution also.

You could try using the Ultimate Boot Disk for Windows. It allows you to boot the computer into a Windows-like environment (screen-shot) and is loaded with antivirus and other system recovery and generally useful tools (list of tools). The website includes a brief summary of how UBD4Win can be used to recover from a virus attack (see FAQ)It also allows you to access all NTFS, FAT, FAT16, and FAT32 volumes and durn CD's and DVD's. Basically I bought a second hand computer about a month ago. I've stuck XP on it, and it worked fine for a few weeks ago. Then, it started turning itself off every few hours. I thought maybe the CPU was overheating, so I replaced the thermal gel, which appeared to fix the problem. A few days later, it started re-setting itself, and upon start up, displayed the 'Active Desktop Recovery' screen, along with an error box, telling me that 'Window search indexer had encountered a problem and needed to close', which was followed by 3 or 4 similarly worded error boxes. I'm completely stumped. I've considered re-formatting it, but I'm not sure whether it's software or hardware problem. It also seems to be crashing at completely random intervals. Can anyone shed some light on what might potentially be wrong with it? I'd really appreciate it!

A:Computer constantly crashing. Help!

As it's second-hand I would start by testing the RAM & the hard drive:

RAM Test. As Windows seems to be unstable, I recommend using a bootable CD version to test it. Download the ISO image for creating bootable CD (Windows - zip) from here: Memtest86.com - Memory Diagnostic

Then download IMGBurn to create a CD from the ISO file: Download ImgBurn - FileHippo.com

When the CD is created, boot your second-hand PC from it and run the test for at least five passes.

Hard Drive test. Download the drive manufacturer's diagnostic software from the appropriate link at top of this page: Hard Drive Diagnostics Tools and Utilities (Storage) - TACKtech Corp.
Again, I recommend you download the DOS version and make a bootable CD from the ISO file with IMGBurn. Boot the second-hand PC from that CD. The testing interface will open automatically. Select the hard drive to test and run the "long test" if available.

SO here is what happened to my laptop HPpavilionZV5000.

I think after i used the program called ashampoo winoptimizer or maybe somekind of regist edit or perhaps my new TWEAKUI, my laptop crashes everytime it starts.
So upon start, it gives me an error message saying

Error loading document~1/owner/.../local~1/temp/XP50TM~1.dll
Could not find specific module.

i am thinking that there must be some dll missing.
SO here comes the frustrating part, after like 10 seconds, the process called wuauclt.exe starts running and stops and starts immediately again and then stops, i can see this through my process explorer. i have no idea why this windows update program works like that, so then i try to terminate it but i can't so i terminated the one of svchost.exe and that killed the wuauclt.exe from going on and off and using some around 30 of cpu constantly.
then after another 20 sec my comp goes to the "blue death" screen indicates system failure and says things about restarting with safe mode and asking for support and stuff, then i am forced to shut down cause it wont respond.

here it is:
A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to yur computer.

If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

I bought a new system on Friday and got it home all excited and ready to use. Installed a couple of my games and they hard lock the system after about 1-2 minutes of play (cannot alt+ctrl+del, alt+tab or anything but reset the machine). This happens in COD4, Crysis, Bioshock and NFS:Pro Street.

I have installed the latest DirectX:June update, and tried it with 175.70, 175.16 and 177.41 drivers. Turned off Firewall, AV before playing the game. The system I have is an E8400, 4GB Corsair 6400 memory, Galaxy 8800GT (My GPU-Z pic is below), Gigabyte EP45-DSL3 M/Board. I'm also running Home Premium x64 edition that has already come with SP1 installed. PC is not overheating as it happily stays around 35-45 before it crashes. Nothing is OCed and everything is at its default settings.

Any other assistance would be great. I knew I avoided Nvidia for 6 years for a reason :\

hi all,

have a problem with a laptop. It has vista business on it and will boot up fine, but most apps I try to run crash!

in event viewer the cause of the crashes appears to be lpk.dll which is to do with language packs but for the life of me i cant work out how to fix this without a full re-install!

searching on the internet i have found replacement lpk files, but they all seem to be version 5 instead of 6 so i assume they are XP files (as xp build number is 5.1xxx etc) and replacing with those dll's makes nothing at all work!

renaming the file in command prompt wont even let explorer open on boot and i dont know what else to try

any and all help would be greatly appreciated

I built a new computer recently but everything seems to keep crashing on it and its making me wonder if the problem is vista, since its the first time I've used vista. When loading games (both new and extremely old), after a few minutes of playing it will either crash to desktop or else even worse it will lock up completely with a screeching noise and force you to do a hard reset. Some programs randomly shut down back to desktop for no reason and sometimes even just when on the desktop with nothing open, the computer will lock up and must be hard reset. It has me at my wits end. Anyone see a solution?

I was wondering if anyone can help me here with some of my programs crashing.

I have a Dell inspiron 1720 laptop and using vista 32.

Two programs are always crashing, and both in exactly the same way are NVU and Audacity. I will record something on audacity then go to the file menu to save it, and before any drop down menus appear, the thing says program shutting down.

And it does so before anything is saved. In NVU exactly the same thing happens, what I do is save it every 2 minutes, so that when it does crash I have something to work with.

With audacity I will record say 40 minutes then go to file, and it then shuts down. It has happened in other programs, as well eg. Windows explorer.

I have reinstalled the whole Vista hundred of times, well it feels like it and I am really fed up with this.

Please, has anyone had this problem, and know how to resolve it.

Many thanks

Yay. The title says it--my games are constantly crashing. For example, Ragnarok Online suddenly gives me a disconnection error; Warcraft 3 suddenly flashes a Fatal Error, and other games just exit out of. This has been annoying me for almost a week now, and I cannot take it anymore. I NEED TO KILL PEOPLE ONLINE!

...Not that I'm addicted, or anything, but seriously. Anyone have any idea what might be causin' this? virus and malware scans come up negative, so I've no clue. This is a great mystery!

(Note that my computer's been working fine for about two years; I run WinXP SP-2...or 3. I can't recall. I'll check and edit this later.)

Well, if anyone has any insight into this problem, your assistance is GREATLY appreciated.

A:Games constantly crashing

First, reboot your cable/DSL modem, if you have one, and also reboot your router/switch/hub. These can be rebooted by just unplugging the power cable, then plugging it back in after 10 seconds or so.

Does your computer have an integrated network controller, or a separate PCI network card? If it's integrated, the ethernet cable will plug in near the USB ports in the back, if it's separate, it will plug in somewhere below the video card in the back.

If it's integrated, try a separate card. They can't cost more than $5 nowadays.

If it's a separate card, try the integrated network controller, or, if there isn't one, try another network card. Again, they're like $5.

The reason I'm blaming the network card is because they're so cheap. It really can't hurt to try another card, there is a huge surplus of NIC's on the market right now.
If these errors occur during single player games, then that's another issue.

as the title says firefox is continuously crashing on me. I'm not sure exactly what is the culprit of this, but it first started happening when I had a lot of programs open (I'm an architecture student, so we have to run a lot of pretty intense programs, and unfortunately my computer doesn't like that.) But it actually has started happening when it is the ONLY thing open, so I'm going to post a copy of my HJT log, and just want to know if anyone sees anything fishy.

Thanks for anyone's time!

The other day I had gotten a virus on my computer. I thought I had removed it because my anti-virus software (McAfee and Malwarebytes) said that no threats have been found. I had also scanned several times. After that my computer is constantly crashing on normal windows, and works fine on safe mode. The computer does not fully freeze, but after 5-10 minutes of use, the mouse will turn into the blue loading circle and the programs will not respond nor does the bottom task bar. The only thing that works is the mouse moving and that even freezes sometimes. I am not sure what virus it was, but I do know that it changed my default search engine into something called "searchcore.net". I already got rid of that, but I am not sure why my computer is crashing. This only started happening after the virus. My OS is Windows 7. Any answers are appreciated and thanks for your time.

Using an acer laptop - aspire 5610 - with Xp proffesional, media centre.

Also sometimes, after restarting the laptop, and selecting the screen name, it comes up with my background wallpaper, but no icons, start bar, etc - only way to get rid of this is turning the power button off.

Hi and welcome!

I looked at your HJT log, but as you are aware, only authorized people are allowed to verify information in this log. I personally, did not see anything WRONG with it. Once again, I’m not qualified on this board to act on HJT logs.

My reason for responding is that I will put my money on your system overheating and powering off! Even though you have the “plate fans”, this does not mean that the system will not overheat! I have been through the exact same process a few times with a couple of my laptops. They get hot, overheat and just power off even when having additional cooling underneath them.

Which, in theory would make sense. Your system gets hot because of the amount of pressure the system gets while playing the game. They are more processor and graphic intense than your regular applications. Have you ever tried watching a DVD on your system (if possible) and then seeing if it will shutdown? Maybe trying a game that is of the same intensity on your CPU and GPU?

Also, you have a ton of stuff starting up on your system. What amount of memory do you have installed and what is the memory usage on the system?

If you want someone to analyze your HJT log for you, you will have to put the thread in the “Malware Removal & Hijack This Log” area. You can contact a moderator and have them move the thread for you if you like.

Please help! My computer freezes and crashes every 5 min-1 hour or so. Using OneNote and web browsers (both Firefox and Google Chrome) seem to particularly cause it to crash, but it often happens when they are closed as well. Okay, this problem's been plaguing me for a while. I'm unsure of whether or not it's a virus, or what--HJT logs have been inconclusive, as have all virus and malware scans. So.

Mainly, the problem is that my browsers--Firefox and, out of desperation, Internet Explorer--will bring up error windows, or just close.

For no reason whatsoever, Firefox will bring up a window giving me the option to report to Mozilla that it's crashed. Internet Explorer, after loading up the homepage or--with the will of God--one or two pages will bring up a window offering me the option to close or Debug. Both of these options do little more than close IE.

If anyone might have some insight into what could be causing this, please, I'm desperate.

A:Help! Computer Crashing Constantly!

Hi Dutch Girl, I am SifuMike and I will be helping you. Before we start, you need to realize that you are missing one important program on that computer: An antivirus. This is somewhat suicidal in today's digital world. You need to install an antivirus program as soon as you can and run a complete scan of the computer. I recommend you download the free Avast or AntiVir orAVG antivirus Products from all three vendors received the Virus Bulletin's VB100% award and certification for virus detection from ICSA Labs.Never install more than one antivirus scanner or firewall on your system! Several together can give you problems and decrease the reliability of it seriously! I see that you are running msconfig in /auto mode which means that you may have selectively removed some items in the past from the startup procedure. This can be bad if they are malware, so we would like you to reenable those startup entries by doing the following:Please click on start, then run, and type msconfig and then press enter. When the window opens click on the startup tab and make sure there are checkmarks in every entry. Then press ok until you are out of the program. If it asks to reboot, do not reboot. It is not necessary to reboot to get the items to show up in HijackThis. Now please create a new Hijackthis Log and post it as a reply.

I'm sorry I'm not sure what info you will need, please forgive my ignorance.
It started crashing all the time, so my husband clearing everything out and re-installed everything, but it is still crashing, but now quite as much. It's a real nightmare. I've tried twice to get this message typed before it crashed. Please help, is there any way you can look at things and maybe help me?
We really don't know what else to do on our own?

Thank you, Marie
