I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Sir,       I tried to download drivers for my laptop from hp official website. The drivers are missing in the website. I request you to post the list of drivers required and their respective links. My Laptop model is HP Pavilion 15-ab027tx.

The x200 Tablet iso bios update is not really findable on your website when searching for it with the search engine. I have spend over 1 hour searching for it. A:Website error: Missing Bios/support website for Thinkpad X200 Tablet (also named x200t)

Agreed, it would be useful if the Support search included a link to older model (EOL) support that it doesn't find directly.  I wouldn't call it an error, but it's not a very convenient or informative design
This isn't specific to the X200x models.  Legacy/older models are on the EOL site (if they aren't showing up in Support search):

This is a general question for a fresh install of Windows on a computer. Let's say we just completed the installation and we open up Device Manager (we haven't used Windows Update yet). Device Manager shows us that there are - let's say "3" - devices that do not have drivers installed for them. If we visit the computer manufacturers website though, they'll have - let's say "8" - different drivers to download.

If we only install the "3" drivers for the devices that Windows couldn't find drivers for, are we hurting our computing performance by not installing the other "5" drivers that were available on the manufacturers website?

This is just good to know in general, because I've faced this situation with every install of Windows since I began computing with Windows 98. But the reason I'm asking now is because the nincompoops at Acer - despite me entering my serial number - still offer me every possible driver for my model, including drivers for hardware that's not in my computer! Windows - of course - can't identify the hardware, so I'm ready to rip out the last little bit of hair on my head.

A:General Question - Windows Installed Drivers Vs OEM Website Drivers

Some manufacturers offer an utility that helps you identify what stuff you have in the laptop, I think Acer did.
You can also try the hardware-detection program this forum has, this tutorial

Also check the driver version, as some manufacturer list multiple driver versions and you only need the latest (usually, otherwise take the last version that works).

Also, installers of these drivers usually look up the hardware IDs of the hardware and if they don't detect anything that could benefit from them will abort installation. Some instead install anyway and you will have some drivers you won't need, but won't cause any issue as again Win7 knows that they don't match any hardware ID, and will leave them alone.

So, you may have noticed that I am talking of Hardware IDs, that are basically each device's own "calling card" integrated in each device, you can identify the hardware by looking up its hardware ID and then searching it on Google to convert that code into a human-readable device model and brand.

Open device manager, right-click on an unknown device, click on "properties", then go in the "details" tab of its properties panel from Device Manager, click on the drop-down menu and select "Hardware IDs". right-click on the codes you get on the text panel below it and select copy, then search the code on Google to identify the device.

hi, can somebody tell me that drivers for AGP cards with ref to nvidia available on nvidia's own website are better to use or ones available on 3rd party websites are betters. For instance now a days the latest version of driver available on nvidia's website is 81.98, however, on some other sites e.g www.guru3d.com, latest version of driver i.e later version then 81.98 is available for nvidia cards. So my question is: is it better to go with the one available on nvidia's own site or the other one????

thnx :grinthumb

A:Are nvidia's own website drivers better or third party drivers???

I only use the WHQL drivers on Nvidia's site. Newer versions may just be beta versions or modified (hacked) drivers.

Hello, I recently purchased the HP Envy M6 AQ105DX laptop and as I was upgrading the RAM and the hard drive to an SSD, I noticed that there was an M.2 slot on the motherboard that may allow for a secondary SSD for the operating system.  I tried to do some resaerch, but since it is a relatively new laptop, there doesn't seem to be too many post on this particular laptop. I noticed that there are several posts about previous versons of the x360, but I am wary of trusting those answers because obviously technology changes, and different motherboards are used and specs change.  Anywho, the label right next to the port says mSATA, but all of the mSata SSD for sale online have different pin configurations. The form that looks closet to my port is a PCIe slot. I have included a picture of my slot and if someone could confirm the compatibility, I will forever be in your debt. Thank you.

I purchase a HP x360 m6-aq105dx a few days ago. Went through the setup and created a login password (with hint). I remember the password. Today, all attempts to login generate a "The password is incorrect, Try again. " message. The laptop is a refurbished "GeeekSquad-certified" purchase and I registered with HP during the set-up. It does give option to reset the password with a recovery file via a USB flash drive. There was no prompt during the set-up (that I can recall) to make a recovery file. What are my options to reset or login into my laptop. Thanks in advance for all assistance.

@Dang3rGir1 Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums! Hey, I understand ... You make a password "strong enough" to protect your PC, you also make it hard to remember! But, do not despair. If you have access to a working PC and are willing to do a little work you may be able to recover your password, or if that fails, you may be able to reset it.The recovery tool is known as ophcrack and can be found here: http://www.top-password.com/knowledge/recover-windows-10-password-with-ophcrack.htmlThe reset tool is the Trinity Rescue Kit, and can be found here: http://trinityhome.org/Home/index.php?content=TRINITY_RESCUE_KIT_DOWNLOADOnce you have the downloaded file, you have a choice of media to create:1) If you can boot from CD, download and install ImgBurn and use the Write Image to Disk option to create a bootable CD.2) If you can boot from USB, download and install RUFUS and use the option to create a bootable USB stick from the ISO file.Once you have the media created, you can read this post for information on how to use it: https://www.lifewire.com/free-windows-password-recovery-tools-2626179Good Luck

Hi, It looks like I need some drivers for my internal 56K dialup modem, since my Windows 7 doesn't have them. It's an old modem and needs the old drivers, I guess. Since it is an Askey Computer Corporation modem, I searched for a download from the Askey website. They don't even mention downloads. So I will have to deviate from the prime directive of only downloading drivers from the mfr website! I see there are a bunch of websites that say they have what I need, including model number, fcc number, Askey brand name and everything. Websites like modemdriver.com, driverguide.com, nodevice.com, modem-drivers.com, driverzone.com, download.cnet.com and more. Is one of these sites better than the others? Will I be taking a chance of getting bloatware or worse in the download? I would think CNET would be the safest site. Opinions, advice? Thanks

A:Where to Obtain Drivers when Mfr Website has none?

Cnet requires installing their software and still can have bloatware.
Might be better off buying a new model that comes with Win 7 drivers.

Most of the driver sites will list what they tell you is out of date and that they have the drivers but that is not always the case and in all of those sites I've seen you have to pay for their drivers.

Hi: You should be able to use all of the W8.1 drivers and software from the 15z-af000 model on yours, as it has the same hardware. I would not use any of the BIOS or firmware files though. http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-15-af000-Notebook-PC-series/7771410/model/8341291 I do not work for or represent HP, but I will report the missing drivers issue for your model to the HP Support Forum Administrators, who will contact the department responsible for maintaining the driver pages. But in the meantime, those drivers from that other model will work just fine on yours.

If you are unable to get them from Toshiba ( I am sure you must be able to if you persist, maybe even chatting with one of their service techs) you could try the free site www.driverguide.com You must register to use the site but it is free.

I have recently had problems with my website www.bluebeachresort.net and received an email suggesting that someone had hacked it. After this people have contacted me saying they cannot access the site anymore. I sent out emails to about 20 friends asking them to check the site from where they were and out of the 20, 11 couldnt access it. There people were all in different countries aswell as Thailand (where I am located) and they were all using different browsers.

I have contacted the (Thai) guy who made the site and arranged hosting it but he seems to have difficulty understanding the problem as he says it loads up fine for him. He did change all the passwords for the site incase someone had hacked it.

As it is I have a site that is visible to some people and not to alot of others. This is obviously no good. Does anyone know what could be the problem

Hi, I'm replacing a motherboard and have been careful to select one that uses (what I believe to be) a compatible chipset to my last one. (nforce/nvidia).

In my obsession to find one with all the compatible chipset, CPU socket, DDR etc I completely forgot about support for my operating system (Windows 7).

I've bought the board on ebay and awaiting it's arrival so I can get on with swapping it over and restoring my machine back to its former glory, but it is second hand with no drivers or set up disc. I would normally be cool with that as I know I could get the drivers on the manufacturers web site, but in this case, it only goes up to VISTA on the manufacturers site

Hello, looking for advice. I have a Dell ATG laptop 6420 and I'm running a program called V1 golf swing analysis for my teaching business. Im having intermittent issues using the voiceover recording feature. After I record the voice over sometimes it doesn't save it. I've used this program for many years with no issues on older laptops. After I purchased this new laptop and It became infected w/ virus. Reinstalled Windows and downloaded drivers from website. Since I've never had issues with Dell laptops and the recording for voice over program on my V1 I'm thinking I didn't reinstall all of the correct drivers from the Dell website. Once I have the ATG drivers pulled up in the Dell website, How do I know which drivers I should be downloading from the Dell website ?
The computer otherwise seems to work perfect and I've spoken with the v1 tech support and they don't seem have the answers. Any suggestions or comments would be great thanks.

A:Reinstalling drivers from dell website

I don't know where you went for drivers on Dell however you could go from here after entering the information you should only be given a choice of the drivers your machine requires.
There are ways to check which driver you have installed now but it's just as easy to download them and run the installation executable.
One of two things will occur.
The driver will install or update the existing driver, if it asks if you want to remove the older driver first (for any of them) answer yes, the old one is removed, usually it will reboot and then proceed with the new installation.
The driver is not required or not the correct one so it will advice you that it won't install as it's not the right one.
In any event I think it highly unlikely you would disrupt anything doing this. Don't forget to backup and\or set a restore point before doing anything.

Everytime I attempt to download a freaking driver it never works!  I'll get half way in the download and then it will quit.  It should take me 3 freaking days to download some drivers! Now that I've vented a little bit, here is my current problem.  We just purchased about 40 computers, 3 different models.  I'm using softpaq.  To begin with, it was a pain in the ass to get that installed and updated!  I would open it a few times and it says it can't connect to the ftp site.  Then I finally got that to go and update the catalog.  It would get half way and fail, close and re-open it a few more times and eventually I finally get it all updated and working. I'm trying to download the manageability driver pack for an HP ProDesk 400 G1 SSF.  I keep getting the error "there were unexpected download problems.  Retry?".  I get this same error on all 3 machines I have softpaq manager on.  I've even tried a different internet connection.  Nothing will allow me to download it, or any other drivers for that machine.

Should I download and install the latest NVidia drivers from their website or just use whatever Windows Update installs? Or does Microsoft install the same one?

I use the computer for digital image and video editing I don't do any gaming on this system. So any 'Game Ready' driver sounds like something designed for enhanced features I don't need and, in the case of the latest NVidia driver, caused serious system errors.

I stumbled upon a website that seems to confirm the latest driver is buggy.

Nvidia Users Beware, Latest Driver May Harm Your PC - Allegedly Plagued With Issues

A:Should I install latest NVidia drivers from their website?

Never use the updates from Windows Update. NEVER! Always go to the website and download from there, always. I had to downgrade my driver 364.72 as well, because Farm Sim wasn't running too well. I would keep driver 364.51 (or whatever the previous driver was) just to be on the safe side, until NVidia releases a stable update, then by all means, have at it.

I have checked AMD's website and they have a new Driver as well as they have updated their AMD Catalyst Control Center to AMD ReLive Crimson software which they prove that it is 20% better than AMD Catalyst Control Center. But it is recommended that to download the drivers only from the PC manufacturer's website, that is why I am not downloading that better software.
So, I heartily request you to please please update AMD M270 as well as other AMD drivers (for my other fellow members who want this request), as this would help me and others for better gaming in their laptops or desktops with AMD Graphics.  .

I am very confused by all the hot fixes there is under my Asus laptops driver download section. How do you know if you should install all these?

My laptop model is u56e win 7 64 bit SP1

A:Asus website has hot fixes under drivers / what is needed?

Do search for the KB number that is mentioned in the zip file. Read exactly what the hot fix is trying to remedy. If your laptop is not experiencing any of the mentioned problems. I would save it for the future and not install it. If the fix remedys a problem that you have experienced I would install it. Save the ones you don't use.

I did a clean install of Windows 10 on my G6 and pretty much a lot of issues resolved itself. However, I wanted to check the Software and Driver page of the Win 7 64bit of my laptop and the website is not showing it at all! I also wanted to find out why HP Connection manager is not working after the upgrade.

A:HP website not showing Software and Drivers on 7/31/2016

BaltoSid You are running up against two very different problems. First, regarding the drivers, when you login to the HP site now, you will see a popup notification that the drivers pages are missing and HP is working on restoring them.  You will have to check back periodically to see if your pages have been restored. Second, HP Connect Manager does not work in current version of Win10 -- to 10586 version that got installed with the November 2015 Update.  So, it can not run in Win10, now.

Does anybody know a good and trustworthy website to download the latest drivers of a device (other than the manufacturer's website). The driver of the device i'm looking for isn't on the manufacturer's website and Windows Update sometimes doesn't update all the hardware to the latest.

A:good and trustworty website to download drivers

softpedia.com often has device drivers. When you say it's not on the manufacturers website, do you mean Acer's website, or the device manufacturers website? For example, if you are looking for your Radeon video card driver, Acer may not have the newest version available, or might not have 7 version at all. But ATI's website will have it, if it exist.

Hey everyone I have the laptop listed below:http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-ENVY-17-k000-Notebook-PC/6936213/model/7200472/drivers I' trying to update my graphics drivers, but when I click on the link, the graphics drivers that show up are NVIDIA, when the graphics in thic computer model is Intel HD 4600. I haven't updated the drivers in 452 days now and I can't seem to find any drivers that work. The official drivers on the Intel website redirect me to HP's website for OEM customized drivers and I can't find anything here. Am I just missing something obvious or have the wrong drivers been placed in the drivers page for this model?

I just did a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 from a MS ISO onto this laptop.  Before doing the OS install, the laptop had numerous problems, but the Wi-Fi worked fine.  After the OS install, I burned all of the HP drivers/software offered for this laptop on the HP website onto disk and installed them.  Everything outside of networking seems to work.  The 100BaseT adapter is functional, but not the Wi-Fi. The drivers seem to install OK as far as the HP installation software shows.  But afterward, Device Manager, under Network Adapters, lists only the Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller.  Under Other Devices there is Network Controller. There is no mention of Atheros Bluetooth, Broadcom Wireless, or Ralink Wi-Fi. I've tried removing the device Network Controller and then installing the drivers; searching for updates via Device Manager (none found on the Internet); installing with and without the HP Download and Install Assistant; installing from the HDD, optical media, and across the LAN. I've tried removing the Network Controller and reinstalling with the bare Win7 installation before any changes were made other than HP drivers/software, and also at numerous stages along the way as some 90 Windows Updates were installed.  I've installed IE 11 and Google Chrome, but no other software has been installed outside of Windows Updates and HP drivers/software.  Dozens of reboots and complete power-downs have been made.

The Address Line that appears at the bottom of emails and Website pages after they have been printed is now missing. I cannot find it anywhere. Does anyone know are to get it back?

A:Website Address Line Missing

I will assume that you are using Internet Explorer.
Go to File -> Page Setup
There is a box for the header (the top of the page) and a box for the footer (bottom). To have the URL print, type &u in the appropiate box. The window title is &w. More commands are availible if you click on the ? in the upper right corner and then click in the Header/Footer area.

I cannot seem to figure out how to get the top section of http://www.alescoleads.com to display the top section. Everything under the date and tips in the blue bar shows up, everything above doesn't. I have already tried it in internet explorer(tried safe mode w/ no add ons), firefox, chrome with no luck. I uninstalled java, re-installed, I reset the internet back to factory setting, wiped out all the browsing history. Tried messing with the internet options in every combination I can. I don't know what else to try besides trying to factory reset this machine. Was curious if anyone else had any idea.

A:Website missing a section in all browsers

link works fine for me...I see everything above the blue line.

I and many others are having problems viewing a certain website correctly. I suppose it's ok to give you the name...alternet.org. When opening the website most of the time the page appears as if extra empty space has been added to the center or the page is stretched so the right side of the page is way over to the right and requires scrolling to get to it. Only once in a while will it open correctly and then after going to another page and returning to the home page, it again is shown incorrectly. In addition, after reading an article and going to the comment page, the format is wrong and some features do not work as intended. Several readers have sent complaints to the website itself and to the comment provider. If anyone can help I will pass it along to all the other readers of that website. I have four scrolling photos which show the correct and incorrect pages of both the website home page and the comment section but are too large to attach here so I have created links to them.

A:One particular website missing part of layout

Same thing happened to me, the problem is at their end.

Hi, I really need to update my Asus k8v-se deluxe drivers, but there are about 1901032424 drivers and i have no idea which one to get. I need basically the "package", i guess you'd call it.

for the first part put motherboard, for the second part choose socket 754, and for model, select k8v-se deluxe. Please help me out.

heres the website: http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us

A:NEED Help updating mobo drivers. have the website but dont know what to download!!!!!

What drivers do you need? Sound, video, bios. Just scroll down the drivers page and pick the new drivers you need. Just make sure they are 32 bit if you are running a 32 bit operating system or 64 bit if you are running XP64bit. Just a note, the beta drivers aren't fully tested yet and might not be as stable as the last version.

My problem is, when i try enter my notebook model in Toshiba driver search, there is no matches... for any windows.
Just simple Toshiba deasn't recognise my notebook model...

Can someone help me...

It's radiculous...

Best regards...

A:Satellite A200-1GM - no drivers on official Toshiba website

Your files aren't stored in the main Toshiba files, which probably means Toshiba no longer supports your model. But they are still stored in the listed archives. This is all the files I could find for your device Windows 7 32bit

Important drivers

Firmware: You will need at least one of these but not all, use the one you know you had before the refresh. If you don't know which one you had then use the top one.
