Trouble getting into a password site

Q: Trouble getting into a password site

Having trouble getting into a site that needs password. 2 of my computers will not go to site, says no access.
Yet third computer goes right in no problem. What do I need to do to fix the 2

Preferred Solution: Trouble getting into a password site

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

How to force IE 11 to ask for saving credentials again for just one web site, after having accidentally sellect not to remember password for that particular site. Please, take into account that:

- I'm totally aware that storing credentials is not a good security practice, but in my particular case this is what I need to do.

- I know that reseting IE or similar approachs will do the job, but doing that I'll lost more tan 70 web sites credentials. I need a solution not involving loose all the web credentials stored.
- I also know that there is way to do the trick "lying" to IE using a modified but similar username, but this only works in some web sites, depending on the kind of login mechanism used. In my particulare case this trick also does not work.
- I also know that there was a registry hack for this particular problem, but this does not work with IE last versions.

Any help would be very apreciated.

I recently suffered a trojan virus attach and ultimately have changed my password on my email server.

I have tried to reset it to the new password in Windows mail multiple times. It keeps reverting to the old password as the saved password, and I continually have to retype in the new password. I tried resetting the password to nothing, and rebooting, and the old password comes back again.

There must be a preference file or an ini file that I can edit. Can I do that without loosing my address book, etc.?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A:Trouble resetting password in Windows Mail to new server password

You might try clicking "Apply" before "OK" in the same window that you entered the password. (I'm guessing that since you are using Windows 7, your email program is Windows Live Mail, not Vista's Windows Mail, although the procedure would be the same anyway.)

Hello, I am a member of http://www.writerscafe.org/ and I think I may have triggered a key sequence or something because when I try and click on the subpages, they fail to load. I'll get a message on my Mozilla Firefox tab that reads "Problem loading page" with a yield sign to the left of it. Then "Unable to Connect" for the header. Underneath that it reads, "Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at http://www.writerscafe.org/"

Underneath this it'll list different things to try:
* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.Click to expand...

This all happened when I was holding the CTRL or it was the ALT key but something happened after because I couldn't click on any subpages. It's been about two hours since I could get into the site so that rules out the first try. I checked my computer's network connection and it's fine. Disconnected and reconnected, on top of that I restarted my computer. That out rules that. And thirdly, I checked my firewall and it's not listed in the sites to not upload.

Problem loading page:

Maybe he/she was installing or changing something on vBulletin without taking the Forum down.

I'm trying to go on to http://www.guitarshredshow.com, but when I try, I receive the typical "operation timed out" error, BUT the site background, title, and little URL-window-icon show up. this is probably because the site's an Angelfire domain and i can never get on those, i think because i live in China and either China has banned, or has been banned by Angelfire. so anyway, is there any way i can access this site? i've tried using proxify but that didn't work. any help will be much appreciated, thanks!

I downloaded and ran hijackthis but it came up with this before the log appeared

For some reason your system denied write access to the Hosts file. If any hijacked domains are in this file, HijackThis man NOT be able to fix this.
If this happens, you need to edit the file yourself. To do this, click Start, Run and type: notepad C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts and press enter, find the line(s) HijackThis reports and delete them. Save the file as 'hosts.' (with quotes), and reboot.

She connects to the site, pulls information from the DB for editing and when she wants to save it, it says it did, but it just throws it away.

It works on ALL the other computers we test. She is working with the administrator passwod now and I'm stumped! Could it be the mobile unit on the network or the version of IE? She uses 5.0.

Guys, if you have ANY hints please help!

I'm using Windows XP. I have IE and Firefox running.

A:Trouble connecting to a site.

Without you giving us the URL for the site so we can try, and some relevant info, we cannot really help.

Plainly its not a systemic problem with your PC as you occasionally get access.

It could be an IP address issue, but as we do not know if you have a permanent IP (Cable or DSL) or a dynamic IP (dial-up) again we can't really comment.

Some IP's will not be accepted by some sites (this occurs when a new pool of addresses is released, it can take some time for all caches to be updated so all sites treat them as valid)

Many of the possible reasons are totally outside your control.

But we just do not have enough info to comment.

I am having trouble with Internet Explorer on one game site.

If I have IE 6 installed I can't type during the game where you can chat.

But since I had so much trouble with IE6 at this site, I installed IE7 Standalone.

It worked fine for awhile, but now it either comes up with the IE error of reporting the problem, or it just flat out shuts down and goes back to the desktop.

I have no idea how to fix either of these problems. I have followed some tech advice or knowledge based info fron MSN, but nothing is working.

For the last week I have been unable to access Amazon.co.uk, getting the following every time I try:

Network error
Unable to request URL from host www.amazon.co.uk:80: Operation timed out

Thinking this was merely a matter of changing IP address I ran Modem Wizard's "Fast IP" application, but the trouble persisted. Thinking that it might be my ISP that had not updated the IP address I connected to the Internet using a different ISP. Same problem! I can get Amazon.com easily enough, so I tried going via its link to Amazon.co.uk, but still no joy. I was just to email Amazon.com to ask what the problem is with its UK mirror Website when coincidentally I received a general broadcast email from Amazon.co.uk's MD promoting various things to celebrate the British site's second anniversary, so I tried all the links there, but again to no avail. Before posting this I emailed a few friends to try Amazon.co.uk to see if they had any trouble, but none had. Any ideas guys?

Now, let's have a closer look to see what might be lurking in there:

Hi folks

Just a quick question for you. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I am looking to rerelease my very simple www site soon - mainly for family comms and kids etc and I would like to include a limited restricted area, maybe a few pages etc where I could include work related material and that I could allow certain people to access when I provided them with a password etc..

I have found free password hosting companies on the web which all look good and reasonable, but is there a more pragmatic way that I could do it myself? I have heard of the htpasswrd feature but do not know how to implement it. Would anyone be willing to explain how I could utilise this please?

I have XP, FP2002 and am willing to learn - any ideas?

Edit - thought I should add that I have just found out that the htpasswrd file is the file that contains the user/member/password info and that I need a script to manage this - is this correct? If so, how and where do I use the script file?

Until recently, when my.yahoo opened on booting, it would open to my customized page. However, when I now boot up, my.yahoo needs my username and pw to open. I'm not sure why this is happening (could it be my use of CCleaner?), but would like to be able to have certain sites that have usernames and pw's to open automatically...can this be done?

A:Opening web site without having to enter password?

If you clean off the cookies that save your login then you will have to log in when you go to the site. Go in CCleaner and uncheck the Cookies option in the browser you use. That should save your login cookie info.

Another way if your browser supports LastPass is to use LastPass extension. It will fill in user name and password and then you just click Login button.

I use LastPass on Chromium, Firefox and Opera. Seems to work very well.

If I don't put one in or if I try what I think it should be ... and apparently it isn't. then I get a message saying that "the connection was refused when attempting to contact with www.carmike.com" (mozilla) or "you are not authorized to view this page"(Explorer)

I have a Dell Inspirion B130 Laptop with a Dell Wireless 1370 WLAN Mini-PCI Card.
Windows XP

~No previous problems with this~

At home I have to use Dial-Up, because where I live DSL and Cable are not available yet.

I am a student at a local college, last semester I accessed their wireless service with no problem coming home and using my dial-up.

The other day I took my laptop to school, I connected to the service, but I could not access any sites, I kept getting the page error message.

So, I brought my LT home and connected to my dial-up, now I am unable to access any webpage that involves a password, I can get to the login page, but then I get the "cannot open page error".

I have reformatted, and it is still doing the same thing...

Any ideas?

And what setting do I need to change to access sites after I am connected to the wireless at school?

I did turn pop-up blocker, my firewall, cleaned my cookies and temp files, I am dumb-founded right now!

I know this is something simple!
