I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Why is it not possible to charge the notebook battery with 30W @ 20V?Why only 45 W and 65 W @ 20 V? I wanted to use this PowerBank with PD support "Anker PowerCore+ 26800mAh Powerbank with Power Delivery"  but only 30W @20V Output. So at the moment it doesn't work if the notebook is on. On standby it works and charges the battery with 30W. Why only when the notebook is off or in standby??

Hi,I got and AUKEY PB-XD20 with USB PD (Power Delivery) 12V 1,5A - 18W.When I connect it to my yoga it charges it for few seconds than disconnects. Repeating the cycle over and over. The thing is - when I turned Yoga off and leave it connected to this power bank time the % of the battery is going up.When Yoga is up, after few cycles it gets crazy and hangs - forcing me to restart it. Can someone at Lenovo take a look into it and allow to charge it with some lower wattage while off? I do not want to break anything, but this cycle is probably worse than constant power delivery.

Hey guys

I have a big problem and I do hope you can help me with- my Cube-i7-Book don't charge not by the Wall charger nor by the Usb-c charger.

I read a lot about the coube-I7-book and just before they started talking about the new one I bought it (+original keyboard). It arrived and I start using it about 3 moons ago.

1. Last moons I bought a Aukey fast USB desk charger (charge other devises ) and try to charge my cube-I7-book with the USB-c cable I got with my LG smartphone. It looks like the charger is connected but it doesn't charge (I try again and again).
2. Last night my cube-I7-book buttery was very low. I connected it to the wall charger as I always do and went to sleep. In the morning I took a look at the cubeI7-book. I was surprise to see it was still charging. I let it to continue charging. At the evening I checked again. It got 61% and stop charging. I re connect it to the charger and to a different wall socket - there was no reaction. I restart the cubeI7 book -nothing.
3. Could the problem is in the wall charger? If so what different charger l have to look for in order to check?
4. If it's not the charger, what can it be and what can I do to make it work? It is a new device and I really want it to work.
5. What about the USB-c charging? Why isn't it working? Can I do something about it?

Thank you for your help

I have a Yoga 910 with maybe 20 hours of use (I've had it 2 years). Currently, it will not charge while the laptop is on. While the system is on and plugged in, the plugged in symbol will occasionally flash and the screen dims when this happens. The laptop will only run on battery power. If I turn the laptop off it will eventually charge (seems to take longer than it should). I'm using the OEM charger it came with as well as an OEM charger I just purchased (same for both)BIOS is out of date, but I cannot update as the laptop will not register that it is plugged in...I updated the ACPI driver from the Lenovo website (it's from 12/2016 though) Is there any way to get around the having to be plugged in BIOS update issue? Or what else could it be? Since it charges while it's shut off it seems like it's a software issue and it just started doing this all of a sudden...

Yas, there's another thread on this, but the answer there (the charger was kaput) is not the answer for mine - unless the charger died and the brand new one was DOA - the new one I bought a few weeks ago when the original was mislaid for a couple of days, but never opened the box when the original turned up. Both chargers actually run the computer, it's just not charging. There's also a sideways reference to this, on https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-X-Series-Laptops/X1-Yoga-Wacom-driver-7-3-4-25-seems-to-be-bro... I had the exact same thing as that one happen (touchscreen quit touching), on the same day. Having had similar things happen before, one of my first guesses was that Windoze had updated something that broke the touchscreen software. Looking at the activity, I saw that indeed, it had installed a "new" version (xxx.25), for which Wacom's current version was xxx.28 - why on earth Windoze would actually downdate a driver automagically is beyond me. The solution, as found in the link, was to uninstall the downdate and install the current one. Unfortunately, I now have a problem that is worse (not touchscreening was mainly an annoyance, but not charging the battery or running off of charger power will be fatal if not fixed in time) and has been harder to track down so far. This morning (4/27/2017), out of the clear blue, when I plugged in the charger, the screen started blinking dimmer and brighter. I finally figured out the change in brightn... Read more

So I haven't had any charging issues recently, but suddenly my Yoga will not charge. I've tried several different outlets, and my Yoga keeps switching between charging and not charging. I don't have another charger to test unfortunately, but any suggestions? I don't know why this is happening. My charger hasn't moved in the past week, and the problem came out of nowhere. It does charge normally if I pass the charge through a USB-C dongle.

Seems like a defective charger, since it charges through the dongle. Contact Lenovo support; they'll have that replaced for you

Is there any reason my Yoga won't charge the battery over 59%? It says plugged in but not charging? I tried charging it with the laptop off but that didn't seem to help. Please help!!!

Solved!
Go to Solution.

A:Yoga won't charge battery over 59%

It's the Lenovo Energy Management settings.Go to Control Panel >> Power Options >> Change plan settings >> Change advanced power settings >> Lenovo Energy Management >> Enable Lenovo Energy Management.Change the battery setting from "Optimized Battery Health" to "Maximum Battery Life." By only partially charging the battery, the software is prolonging the lifespan of the battery itself.  This is true of all laptop batteries.  If you often leave your computer plugged in, it's best to keep this setting enabled.  If you can anticipate your mobile useage in advance, you can just turn off the feature at appropriate times. It would be nice if the setting was easier to change.  If somebody knows an easier way, feel free to post it.I suppose you could always put a shortcut to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Lenovo\Energy Management\Energy Management.exe" on your start screen, taskbar or desktop.  Alternatively, you could put a shortcut on the desktop, assign a hotkey to it, and super-hide the shortcut (a little more advanced).

Hello, I bought my Yoga just over a month ago, and not sure if this is an issue or normal for this laptop. When it's plugged in and charging, both the charging adaptor and the bottom of the laptop become very very hot (like burning hot, you wouldn't be able to hold your hand on the surface for over a few seconds). It eventually cools down to normal once taken off charge. I cannot go to the shop where I bought the laptop as I'm abroad for the summer so just want to be sure there is no fault with my laptop / chargin adaptor. Or alternatively, would I be able to use the international warranty if this is faulty? Thanks in advance. Lena

Just got a new Yoga 730-13¨. Battery will not charge, just remains in a certain percentage (first day it was 13% and second day was 26%). Although I am using the original adapter, which I have verified to be the correct one (65W), Lenovo Vantage reads ¨AC adapter has limited support - This AC adapter cannot provide enough power for normal operation of your computer...¨.  Is this likely a battery, ac adapter, or software problem?

It looks like we can add the Yoga 15 to the list of badly designed Lenovo models with battery issues.  I just got my Yoga 15 on Monday, and by Thursday the battery was continually saying "plugged in not charging."  It's still running on AC power, but the battery is gradually diminishing.  I'm using Windows 10 64 and haven't installed any other power or fan management software. I haven't seen any other mentions of Yoga 15's with this problem, so if anyone has a solution for this model, I'd be grateful.  There is no OneKey software on this machine, so the solutions offered for the Yoga 3 don't apply here. If you're thinking of buying a Yoga 15, caveat emptor.

A:Yoga 15 battery will not charge

And now more fun: when I called tech support, they told me I don't have a warranty, not even the standard warranty that all Lenovo PCs ship with (I bought direct from Lenovo). Like I said, if you're thinking about buying a Yoga 15, there might be better options out there.  Better companies ,too.

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga S1 that won't charge.  Sometimes when I plug it in there is no reaction from the computer aside from the "i" indicator continuouly flashing in sequences of 3s. Other times when I plug it in it says "plugged in, not chrging" and the "i" indicator flashes 3 times, then 6 times. If I remove the battery, I can run the laptop off of AC perfectly fine but the CPU is limited to 0.78 GHZ and the laptop feels very slow because of it. I have two batteries and I have tried this with both of them but its the same result for both. So it's not a problem with the battery. I have also tried the AC adapter on another laptop and it charges fine so its not a problem ith the charger. There was a big windows update a day or two before the issue started so I'm wondering if its just a software problem. My warranty is expired so I'm really hoping this is an issue that I can fix on my own without having to send it in to Lenovo and be billed for it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have anyone had the problem with trying to charge with a normal but stronger phone charger and a USB-C cable, not the ac adapter you get when you buy it. I managed to charge my Yoga 920 at home with the USB-C cable from my BEOplay 1, just a standard USB-C cable and the adapter i use for my Iphone. Worked real good, was happy that it worked so I knew that I wouldn´t have to bring the ac adapter on my trips. So I wen´t on and bought a 3m USB-C cable, but now when I try to charge the Yoga it´s not working at all....I also bought a stronger phone adapter that supports QC 3.0 3.6-6.5=3A.  The main thing I don´t understand is that how the same adapter works with one cable and not the other...USB-C is just one standard. And I´ve of course tried to charge other things with the 3m cable and it works perfect with everything else but not my Yoga...

Hey all, was hoping someone had a solution to my problem. I bought my wife a Yoga 730-15 for school and it's not holding a charge after we shut it down. I did some research and found a few others had the same problem with different models, and the solution was a BIOS update. Well, I update BIOS with the 730-15IKB update. After the update my entire screen shrank to like 25% of the original size. Was this the wrong BIOS update?? I'm not sure if it solved the charging problem either, since only time can tell that. Thank you in advance for any help that is offered.

So I've only had my yoga 920 for 1 or 2 months now. But one day, the charger stopped working. It was plugged in but not charging the laptop at all. The battery icon showed it was on battery power, like the laptop didn't even realize it was plugged in. I tried both USB-C ports also, but neither helped my laptop charge. SoI'm not talking about the "plugged in, not charging" text I've seen show up in some laptops before. Right now, the laptop just doesn't realize it's plugged in at all.Even the  charging LED was not on, despite being plugged in. Lenovo sent me a new charging adaptor, so we'll see if that works. In the last 3 days, I've just been using a USB-C phone charger to charge the laptop, which worked with both USB-C ports. Obviously the speed was slow, so if I did intensive tasks, the laptop drained faster than it charged, but it was charging. However, today, the laptop refused to charge with both ports with this phone charger. Again, the laptop did not recognize it was plugged in and the charging LED was not on, despite being plugged in. I thought the laptop itself must be frying all chargers, but I tried the charger with a phone, and the phone started charging. So it seems the charger is fine, but the laptop won't charge! Any solutions or idea what caused two chargers to suddenly stop working? The Lenovo laptop charger itself is dead, but the phone charger works (just no longer to charge the laptop). Is some internal har... Read more

Hello all, just looking for some help. I am completely desperate at this point!
As the title states, I own the Lenovo Yoga 2 11 inch version (the one on this link http://www.bestbuy.com/site/lenovo-yoga-2-2-in-1-11-6-touch-screen-laptop-intel-pentium-4gb-memory-5...
Please note that this is the version with the Pentium N3520, not the i5-4210Y! This laptop was purchased at the end of March.

Anyway, the last time I used this laptop was on Thursday. I used it to quickly email something to the desktop I was using. I noticed it had around 10% battery left, so I planned on charging it later that day.

I got caught up with some other school work and did not touch my laptop until Friday morning. I pressed the power button, but it did not turn on. This was not surprising, since I figured the battery had run out since the previous day. I plugged it in but immediately noticed that something was wrong. The Power/Charging LED did not turn on. The laptop does not POST, and it does not beep! The fans do not start up, and the screen does not even flicker. It is exactly as if the battery is not there. The charger and the outlet work fine, as they have been tested with another Lenovo laptop.

I opened it up to see if anything was loose, but nothing appears wrong. I am seriously scared that I will have to return this laptop to Lenovo. I have very sensitive information regarding my engineering work, and some private files from a company. Plus, I have all my N... Read more

Hello, if anyone has any advice or experience about this that would be amazing.Basically it feels like my laptop is randomly deciding when to charge and when not to. It seems to be whenever it dies, I wake up the next morning and it won't charge for a few days and it seems as though keeping it unplugged helps it kind of reset. But today it decided to do it anyway. I am quite keen on not letting it die now. So I shut it down at about 9? and it has always charged previously, apart from today.  So as a basic checklist:I am plugging it in properlyIt's plugged in at the wallThe wall switch is onI haven't seen much apart from "get a new battery or power adapter". I'm not sure if it's something to do with updating the bios, something easy that needs replacing or something of an even greater hardware issue.  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

Hello,Has anyone ever had this happen before? As the title of the post suggests, I have a 3rd gen X1 Carbon Yoga (still under warranty) and yesterday the following happened. This is the second time since I have owned it. I had used the battery down to about 20% and turned it off. I then plugged in the charger and the red i dot on the ThinkPad logo blinked a couple times. But! The charge light didn't light up ... right away at least. I waited about 30 sec, and then turned the laptop on to see if it showed as charging. As soon as I pushed the power button, the charge light came on instantly. I saw that it said "plugged in, charging" on the battery icon, so I powered down. The charge light remained on. I left it plugged in all night. And when I looked at it the next morning, the charge light was still on.?? I powered on, and to my dismay, the laptop hadn't charged at all! But it said "plugged in, charging" on the battery icon again. So, I powered down and waited.  Within about 30 minutes, the charge was up to the 80% I have the charge capped at through the Lenovo Power Manager. What could cause that?Has anyone here experienced this sequence of events before?

Hello, Could somebody help me with the solution for charging my laptop X1 Yoga for USB docking station, please? Thnak you, Marius.

A:x1 yoga not charge from ThinkPad USB 3.0 Pro Dock

USB 3.0 docks are not capable of powering a computer (unless some non-standard functionality is used, and even then only a small amount of power can be supplied). The only standards compliant way to power a computer from a USB dock is a USB type C dock with power delivery capability connected to a USB type C port on a suitable laptop. The X1 Yoga does not have USB type C, so the only dock that can power the X1 Yoga is the OneLink+ Dock. You will need to connect a power adapter as well as the USB 3.0 dock if you wish to power the X1 Yoga.

Hello, Does anybody tried to charge the Device by USB-PD? Technically it should be possible with a >90W Charger, but I read different Statements. Some say, it's only charging, if the device is off. But that's not the target, it should be possible to work & charge with it.Others say, that only the 13" Yoga can be charged, the 15" (4k Display btw.) seems to need too much energy and doesn't push it to the battery But 90W, as the original dedicated non-usb-Power-Charger, is 90W, so there seems to be negotiating-issues. But as I said: Too many different statements. My Dream-Configuration would look something like this:- 1 USB-C-Charger like Dell TDK33 (4,[email protected])- 1 USB-C-Hub (primarly for LAN & Display), e.g. Andobil 9-in-1. It's too expensive to buy & try. Especially if there are Negotiating-Issues, you have to try different Chargers until you find a working one or to come to the conclusion, that its impossible. TL;DR: Can I Charge the 730-15ikb (4k) over USB-C while working? Which Charger is known to work? Thanks
