Hi: HP sets the warranty date starting when the PC is shipped to the vendor from the factory. Since I do not work for or represent HP, I do not know why they do this. In any event you can call HP support, and ask them to adjust the warranty start and end dates. You will have to provide them with a copy of the invoice or sales receipt showing the date of purchase. I had to do that too. The customer services rep should send you an e-mail with a link to upload your scanned copy of the proof of purchase. Then in about 3 business days, they will adjust the warranty period accordingly.

Hi All, I have bought my new laptop HP Envy AE101NX yesterday (25-May-2016). However, when I open HP support center application and recovery applications, where we see the warranty period information it is showing incorrect information. The store supervisor informed me that it is in 2 years warranty period. The information being showin in these apps is 6 Months and that too Start Date : XX/08/2015End Date :    XX/02/2016. This Feb-2016 is already passed. I could not understand how come the warranty is already expired, even though it is for 6 months for some reasons. Can anyone please advise on how to get this fixed? ThanksVamshi

Hello,I'm not sure if this is the correct place for this kind of query or if I'm just ranting rather than asking a legitimate question but I'll post it anyway.I purchased a hp-15ba055sa from PC world 04/02/2017.  It came with the HP Support Assistant installed which prompts me to read its messages.  There is only one message and that is that the warranty expired 04/02/2017 and I can purchase more if I like.  I contacted HP support and put in a warranty dispute request to which I attached a copy purchase receipt.  The response was less than helpful and amounted to "not our problem, speak to PC world".  I telephoned the HP GB helpline indicated in the e-mail and their advice was to uninstall the HP support assistant.My question is: As this is a new laptop and proof of purchase has been provided why can't HP just change the warranty date and re-enable the HP Support Assistant.

Hi everyone, Almost a year ago I bought a HP Spectre 360 in the US. Up till now I have been very happy with it, but for pure peace of mind I am trying to extend the warranty in the UK (as I am living here now). HP is telling me that it is not possible. Has someone been in the same situation (i.e. buying in X country and extending warranty in Y country?). Is it possible, if so how did you manage to do it? As a side note, their Support Service Agreement does not state that the computer must have been bought in the country of the warranty extension. Many thanks!

Hi, Thats a difficult situation to begin with. First of. If you are going to call HP Support 1800-474-6836 and you are going to extend your computer's warranty. They will definitely ask you for a credit card number and billing address. Ofcourse if your not within US thats gotta be a problem because they use a tool to process payment which accepts US addresses only. The best thing that you could do if you really insist of getting a warranty is talk to your friends that lives within US and ask them if thy could process the warranty for you and pay them afterwards. Regards.

I received a strange phone this evening from someone prporting to be from Microsoft telling me my MS software warranty had expired and my computer was filled with malware. Now my computer has been running slow and I have been kicked off or unable to load some webpages and even desktop things like opening recipes are very slow. However I had just run Microsoft security essentials, malware bytes and superantispyware and they all came up clean.

This man directed me to go to several places on my computere thru RUn/CMD and pointed out PNF files he said were bad. He KNEW my license numbers, My name , address and phone number. He directed me to a websire techassist24x7 and carecmop and said microsoft reccomended I pay a yearly relicensing

Hi: The same thing happened to me. You will have to call HP to have the warranty date adjusted.  If you live in the USA/Canada, Call this number and explain the situation.   1 800-474-6836  The customer services rep will send you a link to upload a copy of your invoice or sales receipt showing the purchase date. Once they get that, they will adjust the warranty start and end dates accordingly. I seem to recall they adjusted mine within 3 days of getting the receipt info I scanned to them.

My laptop extended warranty expired on 24 Aug 2016 how can i renew it now ?Hp support representative says i can't buy another warranty as i have already purchased one.

Two issues here: 1. purchased the laptop 12/04/2016 - Warranty expired 14/08/2016 (4 months) 2. Laptop has been increasingly unuseable due to significant flickering on screen then moving to sleep mode.Ive updated all drivers, also completed a reset but to no availAlso when coming out of sleep mode I get a black screen but if I run my finger along the top bar (the F keys) the display re appears until it starts flickering again and then to sleep mode Ive a couple of videos that shows this in action Any help would be greatly appreciated Nick
