I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Good Morning,

I receive the following error message on every boot up of my Toshiba Laptop, running Windows 7, 64 bit OS.

F - Secure Host Process is trying to recover your information.

The message disappears after a few seconds and does not recur until the next boot up.

I assume that F refers to a USB device, but I never boot up with a USB device installed and I have always used the 'safe removal' process.

The error message seems to be of little significance but its persistent occurrence is very frustrating.

Any suggestion to solve this annoyance would be gratefully received.

A:Secure Host Process Error Message

Just for grins after shutting down try holding down the power button so that the machine shuts down completely. Wait about 30 seconds. Then boot up. It may not work. But it shouldn't hurt to try.

I have a SandiskSecureAccess flash drive, have been using it for about a year, plugged into my ASUS N550J with Windows 8.1. Last time I tried to open the vault I got this error message: "Invalid class name in archive".
It seems to partially open to show the different folders and drives but the vaulted part, shown with a vault icon, does not open. When I double click on that icon I get another error message: This vault could not be loaded, it may be located on another computer or the original file has been manually removed." Everything looks exactly as it always has and the folder sizes seem to indicate that nothing has been removed. It worked fine yesterday and I did not intentionally remove or delete anything.

I just upgraded to Windows 7 and didn't have any problems, everything said it installed correctly. Today when I open up Windows Media Player I start getting this Windows Installer thing that pops up saying

"The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'OpenMG Secure Module.msi' in the box below."

I've tried searches on it, seems like this is a problem that was on Vista and XP before as well. Does anyone PLEASE have a solution to this?

A:OpenMG Secure Module.msi Message

Just to update, the "experts" at sony couldn't help me with this problem either. I narrowed it to when I'm in Media Player and go to look at my videos, that's when it happens. Then I narrowed it down to a certain folder that causes it to happen. I'm thinking it may have been a corrupted video file that was showing up as 0 KB, or a problem with the codec or something does that make any sense to anyone??

Since I removed that 0 KB file from my library on windows media player I have no longer been having this problem, does that make sense that it would be a problem/conflict with that video file since i narrowed it down to that?

To anyonewho can help,

IN Win2k Pro, each time I boot, a winsock window appears at the desktop, runs and disappears. However, after that I get a steady stream of secure.exe windows appearing in the taskbar and I cannot delete them. When I shut down I get an error message stating secure.exe dll initialization failure during "closing network connections".

What is wrong and how do I fix it?

A:Secure.exe - DLL initialization failure message

You have the Backdoor.Sumtax trojan. Head on over to TrendMicro's HouseCall anf get rid of it, then (Optional) get anti-virus software and keep it updated.

so i noticed that my internet connection started fluctuating a bit a few minutes ago, this is new since receiving a new modem from at&t recently. before i would instead notice intermittent slowing of connection, but never drops in connection. i have also been receiving  error message telling me that my connection is not secure and that attackers may be trying to access my information. i have noticed this after admittedly accessing some shady sites recently. on the other hand it it storming oustide so perhaps it is just a connection issue.
i noticed the message not just on my dell pc but also my android phone. i reset the pc and phone and i'm no longer receiving the message, the connection seems secure. what would be the bestcourse of action? should i run a virus scan? should i factory reset the pc and phone? should i run rkill? is there a way to find out whether it's only a connection issue and not someone trying to hack?
thanks for your help

Hello, i view my works email via 'webmail' on the internet. I receive a lot of emails
that give me the following message:

This page contains both secure and nonsecure items.
Do you want to display the nonsecure items?

I have the option to select Yes or NO. The same emails also come into Outlook on my PC itself but do not display this message. Is there a way to NOT get this message via ''Webmail'? or is this something to do with some kind of 'server rule'?

So I recently upgraded my e485 to a 512GB SSD instead of the stock HDD that the model that I purchased came with.  Prior to this upgrade, I'd easily been able to create a dual boot both Windows 10 and Arch linux. However, after changing the SSD out and re-installing Windows 10, I can't even boot into Arch's installation media.  I'm left with a black screen and a single line of text that says "Secure Boot Disabled" and nothing else (picture below). From this screen I am unable to further load the installation media, reset back into BIOS, or anything else unless I hard-reset and try to start again. The installation media I created was made using Rufus ver.3.3 both times, and I have attempted every variant of Secure Boot off/on, CSM off/on with UEFI-only, Legacy-only, both enabled with both UEFI and Legacy primary, GPT vs. MBR-formatted installation media, even going so far as to using other distros of Linux and nothing seems to change. With Secure Boot on the BIOS will skip my installation media entirely and load straight into Windows 10.  I have already created an unallocated partition with which to install Arch.Picture of aforementioned screen:

Yesterday my brother tried to enter the admin page of our modem, using Microsoft Edge could not get into the page while using Mozilla Firefox has succeeded. However, when he started typing username and password, a message appeared saying "This connection is not secure, the entered credentials may be vulnerable". He is however entered the page by entering the data. Turning to different sites, I noticed that this message appears in different sites (not many). It happens with both Edge and Firefox and also with another PC where I use Ubuntu. My question is, could my modem data be stolen? Or if the site where I log in is reliable, can I ignore the message "this connection is not secure"? On Edge, the message does not appear while I log in to the account, but to the left of the page URL.
Excuse me for the mistake in the title, I'm not American.

A:Mozilla Firefox message "this connection is not secure"

You will get this message occasionally on web pages that do not use https:// (look at what shows up in your browser's address bar) and that request a username and password if those are requested directly on the webpage presented that is not using https:// protocol.  If your modem-router presents a pop-up login dialog you generally don't get the warning you describe.  For myself, I don't worry about this when dealing with my modem-router since the traffic related to it never exits my local area network.
The same applies for other webpages that ask for username and password that don't use https://.   There are a number of sites that were coded ages ago that fall into this category.  There is an online automotive forum that I participate on where I get this warning.
Unless someone is actively electronically "watching you" the risk is relatively small of your password falling into the wrong hands.  In any case, if one is still using sites like this and wishes to continue doing so then having a site-specific password (which you should be doing for all websites that require you to login anyway - even though most of us are not perfect in following this practice) is critical since were it to be compromised it could not be used as a possible way to log in to other sites "the hidden observer" might have observed that you log in to.

Dear Community .
I am planning to sell and upgrade my Alienware to a newer model .
I want to perform a secure erase .
I have tried Samsung magician 4.9 ( 5.0 doesn't support the SSD)
I have tried parted magic .
I am able to create the boot USB for both tools but on each occasion I get " Drive Frozen state " message .
I have researched for hours and all I see is cycle the power on the disc by unplugging the power and replacing it .
My questions are: 1a how do I power cycle on a Samsung SSD PM851 M.2  2280 as I don't see any power cable/lead  1b is there another way to unfreeze/unlock the drive . I DO NOT want to pull the whole module out and push it back in and end up with a dead piece of electronics .
2 Is there another way for me to secure erase and do I need to do this at all ,  would a format and clean installation of windows ( halting at the country /language stage and powering down for the new buyer ) be secure enough ?
To be honest I have fallen behind on HDD technology and couldn't believe the SSD was only a PCB  with 4 chips . when I opened the cover I was expecting to see a 2.5 drive .

I am trying to make an secure POP3 (port 995) and secure IMAP (port 993) connection thru Verizon FIOS via the ActionTec MI424WR modem/router/802.11G box that Verizon supplied. I am running Vista, and I am using Outlook 2007, which is set to these ports.

I wanted to do this with the firewall set to the "Maximum Security (High)" setting.

These ports were not available in the ActionTec's pick list so I added these ports (using the "Advanced" tab and then under "Protocols") so they read "TCP any -> 993" and "TCP any -> 995"

I tried adding these ports to the "Access Control" table, and the "Port Forwarding" table and the "Advanced Filtering" table but none worked.

The Verizon Tech Support line worker told me the only solution was to enable the DMZ host and set it to be the IP address of the computer I happened to be on.

To my astonisment, with DMZ enabled, the "Access Control" rules seemed to kick in for the DMZ host and my secure POP3 would only work if I had this port allowed in the "Access Control" table.

1. Is it safe to run with DMZ pointing to my computer.

I thought this effectively brought the "DMZ host" (i.e. my computer) outsied the firewall and exposed all the ports on my computer directly to the internet. (But if that were the case, then

My Dell desktop Dimension E510 computer with one gig RAM and XP professional failed to start and I was eventually forced to do a repair of Windows which after several hours allowed me to restart it and it is apparently back to where it was with no need to reinstall any drivers, programs, settings, etc. During the Repair there were two places were I had to skip things that would not load. However, it now has two error messages that keep popping up and I cannot get rid of them.

The first is in a window labeled "msfeedssync.exe - Application Error". The message is "The instruction at 0x77d4bbcd referenced memory at 0x00000048 cannot be read". It pops up and says click OK to terminate program or click cancel to debug the program. Clicking either twice closes the pop-up but it returns about two minutes later. How can I get rid of thsi message.

The second problem is a window labeled "Status" which starts a ticker tape to load info and then a second window pops up that says "The feature you are trying to use is on a CD or other removeable device. Insert disk and click OK. The status file is an "Installation Package.msi file. No m,atter how much I click cancel or OK the windows will not close. i have installed VirtualBox on windows 7. While running windows xp and other OS using virtualbox i can't browse facebook because it has secure connection, please see this screenshot: http://i.stack.imgur.com/E0FSM.jpg
This windows xp has a NAT connection.
Any idea, so i can browse ssl connections in virtualbox os's? I have asked this on VB Forum but they keep saying that its not a VB issue!
any idea would be great :) in other hand, i am using Eset antivirus software in my windows 7 :)

A:why ssl ( secure connections ) having error in virtualbox?

You might have some kind of malware or settings problem that has messed up IE in your XP VM, or it might be ESET on the host, or it might be a problem with the NAT provider in VirtualBox and you host's NIC driver.  It's hard to tell which though!
First, I'd try resetting your Internet Explorer to it's default settings.  If you have the latest IE, on the Tools menu, Internet options, Advanced tab, and at the bottom, it has a reset button.  If that doesn't help, then I'd scan your VM from
one of the online antivirus scanners.  Then I'd try disabling ESET temporarily on the host.  And last would be to update your NIC drivers on the host.

Let me start by saying that lately my bank website, Norton Safesearch and even your website appear to have replaced their secure certificates with outdated or insufficient security. Usually in these cases the https in the address bar is crossed out or has a yellow          ! triangle. If you click on that triangle or crossed out space you will see a grey box that says "your connection to this site is not private". My connection is a private home network as opposed to public. It used to say "you have not visited this site before today" but that phrase is no longer there. Of course I've gone to these sites before. In the grey box there is a tab titled 'connections'. Click on that and it says '! The identity of this website has not been verified' and '! Your connection to www.xxxxxxx.com is not encrypted'. These sites normally have the green bar in the address bar indicating a secure connection. Clicking on the green bar will give you the same grey box, only this time it says "Your connection to this site is private" and it will tell you 'the identity of this site has been verified by [name of certificate]. Valid Certificate Transparency supplied by the server'. It will say 'your connection is encrypted using an obsolete cipher suite, or [...encrypted using a modern cipher suite]. Both are followed by specific connection and encryption information, i.e. TLS 1.2.

Hi! I don't know if this is specifically a Vista problem or not, so I am posting here.

Here is where I am at:

I am trying to get my XBox to share my laptop's internet connection. I know that this is possible because I have done it before, from this very laptop, with this very Vista os on it. Now, I am unable to checkmark "Allow other users..." for sharing etc. I get the error that Internet Connection Sharing failed because "the dependency service or group failed to start."

Well I found out that it was dependent on the service "Remote Access Auto Connection Manager", so I tried to start that. (It is also dependent on Telephony, but that is running). Same error. I find out that THAT is dependent on "Remote Access Connection Manager". When I try to start THAT, I get the same error. It is dependent on "Secure Socket Tunneling Protocol Service", which is not dependent on anything. When I try to get THAT service to start, I always get the error 1717: Interface is unknown.

I have been trying for 3 days to fix this. I am ready to throw Vista out of the Window & reinstall XP, seriously. The only suggested solution I have found so far is to do a clean start-up. I have done this, & am still not able to get these certain services running. These are my last-ditch efforts, & then Vista is gone for good for me. I have done wayyyy too much troubleshooting on this os. I have been searching & searching & there... Read more

Ok, I am about to throw my computer out the window. At first I coud not connect to any secure sites so I figured it was the NIS 2004 firewall. A:Error Communicating with Server and Secure Sites

I suggest fooling around with your firewall's port settings. It sounds like the firewall has these ports closed, the very ones required to communicate with remote servers.

I am not fresh on the exact ports that secure webservers or clients use, however I am sure that a little googling will provide an answer. Better yet, perhaps another more learned member will happily provide that information shortly.

I tried the various things recommended on Google but nothing worked. I restored Firefox from a Shadowprotect backup and it works fine.

I suppose this question is academic since Firefox is working, but any ideas why there was that error after installation?

Thus, I do not suggest you to attempt doing a such thing without proper training since you could easily mess up your whole system with that. Let's take a closer look at these errors.MiniToolBoxDownload MiniToolBox and move the executable file to your Desktop;Execute MiniToolBox and check the following options:List Installed Programs;List Last 10 Event Viewer Errors;List Devices - Only Problems;List Users, Partitions and Memory size;Once this is done, click on Go and wait for the scan to complete;Once the scan is complete, a log will open. Please copy/paste the content of the output log in your next reply;

This has happened on two Venue 10 tablets after the most recent group of "optional" updates. Rebooting after installation causes a Secure Boot error. The fix is to access the bios setup using a keyboard, turn off Secure Boot, reboot and go through the BitLocker recovery routine. The updates are KB3087137, KB3087041, KB3087390, KB3073874, KB2999226, KB3084905. KB3080042, KB3080800, KB3082353. I have no idea which cause the problem. Dell Support says that Secure Boot Off is supposed to be the default condition. Either one of these updates turned it On or it was always On and the update triggered the error.

A:Dell Venue 10 Win 8.1 updates cause Secure Boot Error

I have the same problem with a Dell Venue 8 Pro running Win 8.1. This had been working just fine and the only thing installed recently were the updates you mentioned. I tried doing a system restore to before the updates, but it didn't make any difference. Just get a red box saying Secure Boot Violation - Invalid Signature Detected. Turning Secure Boot off in the BIOS is a workaround, but because device encryption was enabled (it's enabled by default when you sign in with a Microsoft account) it then prompted for the BitLocker recovery key on every cold bootup. Entering a 48 digit key every time is a pain, so for now I have disabled encryption.

I think Dell are mistaken if they say Secure Boot Off is the default condition. It was definitely On already on mine.

I do notice the device boots up quite a bit quicker with the encryption disabled. I will probably just run it the way it is (secure boot and encryption disabled) but does anyone know how to fix this properly? Would a full reset from the recovery partition put things back?

The issue seems to be primary with Google. I have tried Chrome, Mozilla & Internet Explorer - all new and updated. Chrome & IE are 100% factory, no addons at all. Google is either not loading or only partially loading. Meaning only some of the graphics load. Gplus just goes wacky :P

These errors are primarily associated with Google. It seems to be "security" related? I have some things in my event viewer I do not understand under security. Though nothing looks horrible. For the last 2-4 days google & its services (Youtube, G+ and others) have been acting funky. I did general maleware scans - Several (nothing bad all removed). Is it a virus/hack? Did I do something wrong? Thoughts? On occasion other websites give me issues.
